I need to address all the hate. 1st, how did Jay-Z fail at Def Jam? Because YOUR favorite rapper didn't drop an album or their sales weren't up to par? I'm guessing people like Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Jeezy and Rhiana wouldn't say he failed. Someone needs to tell LL just because you can make an Upside down cake doesn't mean the people don't want chocolate. His problem is that he no longer knows who or what his fan base is. Cube had the same problem but he went indy and reconnected to get that album guap. LL is to proud for his own good. Second, I will listen to Jay until he is 150 years old. Why not? His lyrics are still on point, you know the beats are tight. Why is it in rap that we have an age limit? This is hip-hop, not Menudo. 3rd, Dame and Biggs could have made all this go away if they had just given Jay his Reasonable Doubt masters. They wanted to eat off the classic for ever. If anybody should be mad it's Biggs, he joined the wrong team. Jay is really the International Grizzly. Finally, this is the future of deals. The 360 deal doesn't really make money off of albums where there is no money anymore, it's everything else. They get the show money, the merchandise money, part of the publishing, endorsement money. It's good enough for Madonna and U2 but not Jay? Get the f outta here!

need to address all the hate. 1st, how did Jay-Z fail at Def Jam? Because YOUR favorite rapper didn't drop an album or their sales weren't up to par? I'm guessing people like Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Jeezy and Rhiana wouldn't say he failed. Someone needs to tell LL just because you can make an Upside down cake doesn't mean the people don't want chocolate. His problem is that he no longer knows who or what his fan base is. Cube had the same problem but he went indy and reconnected to get that album guap. LL is to proud for his own good. Second, I will listen to Jay until he is 150 years old. Why not? His lyrics are still on point, you know the beats are tight. Why is it in rap that we have an age limit? This is hip-hop, not Menudo. 3rd, Dame and Biggs could have made all this go away if they had just given Jay his Reasonable Doubt masters. They wanted to eat off the classic for ever. If anybody should be mad it's Biggs, he joined the wrong team. Jay is really the International Grizzly. Finally, this is the future of deals. The 360 deal doesn't really make money off of albums where there is no money anymore, it's everything else. They get the show money, the merchandise money, part of the publishing, endorsement money. It's good enough for Madonna and U2 but not Jay? Get the f outta here!

Actually, Jay-z is 1 of my favorite artist..but that's where it stops. Jay-z failed at def jam I got alot of reasons he failed...the nicca spent alot of marketing & promo dollers on "kingdom come" and the Sh@% flopped, I don't care where u go on planet earth, japan, europe, africa 1+1 = 2 math is a universal language if u spend 5 million on marketing and promo and only make back 2 million back that means your azz in hot water the next board meetng not only that it doesn't matter how many artist went platinum on the lable if u still recouping money from another project loss, so rick ross, rhianna, ne-yo, jeezy, had great sales but that don't matter if the same company still recouping losses from a major flop You think LA Reid stupid he knows Jay-z business mind set is garbage. LA Reid could have took the check book out and wrote the 100 million that Jay-z asked for from the start. But what would have made sense about that..even the next door neighborhood drug dealer knows that ain't good business. Everytime u hit ah lil nicca with a pack he comes back short...eventually u goin get rid of him. Pretty Much Jay-z found himself a chump to invest 150M.

And contrary to popular belief DAME DASH made Roc-a-fella- sure Jay-z was a great artist and was CEO of the lable as well I don't take nothing away from his craft the nicca is Nice. But behind close doors. Roc-a-wear, avondale, Distribution deals, even down to the Black Album distribution deal for the movie DAME DASH!! Jay-z can't make it in business and succeed without dame sure he will try but for now it remains to be seen.

Jay made all of his partners rich. Dame Dash is not a slouch when it comes to business he just doesn't have the same brand recognition that he helped Jay-Z to develop. Dame Dash and Bigs helped develop that brand. If you hear Jay-Z talk now though he'd have you to believe he was a genius all on his own and it wasn't even like that. Dame was with that dude back when he was wack on Hawaii Sophie Fame but it's business. It is the Jay-Z brand that is allowing him to make deals like this. The quality of his music fluctuates.
