People need to listen to the message in the track. It takes a while to get across but to me, he's saying that everybody wants to "Be a N***** Too", but before you do that you need to think about what that really means. Pay close attention to the last verse "They hang N******", etc. and maybe the point will get across.
I see it as a double edged sword:
It's trying to make people understand that this whole thing about how some want to think that being one is cool, is, in fact, not something you should want to be, because the meaning of the word is ignorant.

At the same time, it may also be trying to take the edge off the word at the same time, by making people realize its just nothing more than a word.

Personally, I like the former intention much more than the later, and hope that's the true meaning of the track.

First off let me touch down on the Eminem comment in the song, Nas got that shit right! Im from Michigan and if ya dont know or have ever been in Michigan then u would never understand why a 15 year Em would say that shit. We are from probaly the most segragated place in america. Its that bad. Alot of different races not only grow up not fuckin wit others one, but most times or not u not even around them and when u is its probaly a problem in some shape of form. So I aint hanging Em for that song. I moved from Mi when I was 17 and Ive exprienced so much different shit that Im not the same person I was 7 years ago. Ya cant judge some one ya dont know or dont understand. As far as the song that shit is hot and I cant wait for the album. It would be the first album Ive bought since American Gangster. Hip Hop is fucked up because my azz can only get exicted over the veterans in the game. It aint no young niggaz Im exitced about.

U made a good point. The arguement is faulty. Thats the point though. Arguing over race will always be a faulty arguement because its never talked about in a real way. Hispanics vs Blacks, Mongs vs Chinese, Whites vs Everybody, its a never ending cycle. Until a real conversation is had it will always be around just in different forms. I aint vouching for that shit Em said in no way, but being from where he from I know why he would say some ignorant shit like that as a kid. But lets be real, As a whole us as black people is probally the most racist fuckin race out of all!!! We stay angry about some shit. Im not sayin all of us, Im saying majority. For us to fight the race war with other people we all have to start with ourself. If something would ever get fixed on this subject people will have to forgive shit and let it go.
