Definitely one of the best female emcees, hands down like 6:30!! She's up there with MC Lyte and Lil' Kim ('Hardcore' Lil' Kim, not this 'Barbie Doll' Kim we see now).
She's always had that 'hungry' type flow, being sarcastic and dope at the same time.
...Hip Hop took an L', on this one.

Man, I feel her to be honest. Contrary to popular opinion, it ain't no money in hip hop, let alone for somebody spitting like she spitting. To say you're a rapper is like saying you're a starving artist...that's why a lot of these cats resort to drug smugglin and you hear it in their lyrics.

But Jean Grae is definitely a dope emcee. That collabo with Masta Ace ("Hold U") is classic, and she stole the show with her last verse. In all honesty, she never said she was retiring...but it does sound like she's walking away. Maybe she's going to keep it as hobby or side thing, and pursue something greater that will pay off.

Jean Grae herself gave Remy Ma props on her music. You may not like her but she was kinda raw on the mic. She may not be a lyricist like Jean but she got flow.
