Thats fucking retarded... If I have a corporation I can market to any demographic I choose. So are they calling for a boycott of those products??? Obviously if they're marketing to the hip hop demo thats where the money's being spent... At the end of the day Hip Hop culture is now the Popular culture.

Hip Hop is the only way a suburban kid from Topeka, Kansas can find out what is going on in the hoods of Chicago, or NY or some shit. Either you buy a cd or take your soft ass to the hood and get robbed. And who's fault is that....

Leave us alone, those endorsements are feeding people in the hood as well as the burbs.

This is just people being biased against Hip Hop they mute certain words in Hip Hop songs that they wouldnt mute on shows like Sex in the City when its on cable. Its funny how they muted the word gun in the song Got Ya Self a Gun by Nas but the song Nas sampled the hook for is theme song of The Sopranos. I guess white people think that when they have violent shows on its ok. I wonder how many people attempt murder more because they watched CSI and think they know what to do to get away with it.

This is a good thing, but like all good things this is something that could end up going too far. Some of the stuff I see on 106 & Park and the demographic their aiming toward is offensive. Kids are watching things and being influenced by some artists who could care less about them.

I remember I was watching one time and they premered that "Sentual Seduction" song by Snoop. Now, I can dig some of Snoop's material. I'm a fan of most of his music, but after seeing the video and then seeing the studio audience which from my view point consisted of mostly 15 and 16 year old kids, I mean it kinda seemed wrong. It wasn't a good look seeing kids clapping at a Porno spoof video with Snoop talking about taking it slow and not rushing a stroke...LOL! To top it off he was there! Laughing and having fun...with the kids.

Maybe I'm just gettin old because I woulda never felt that way before or maybe it's just good sense finally creeping in. Whatever the case I agree with taking a stand, but not just at he expense of the hip hop culture, but all of entertainment that target children with negative images. If nothing else appropriate the material responsibly to the appropriete audiance. I think that would be fair.

They are targeting a certain genre of entertainment. This is their way of getting hip hop and its often useless message off of the airwaves..... Because if this works and the companies pull the ads, then the stations pull the show.. Once they get this done on broadcast television, the radio waves will be next. They are taking this battle against rap to a whole new level. It is ezier for them to tackle this kind of stuff this way, because parents def are not going to prevent their children from watching this stuf, and the artist are not going to stop making this stuff... And censoring is not working, we are a creative people and find ways to make words mean other things, so sensoring is a big fat fail....... The real world is clean and wholesome I guess...

If there was more balance on these networks it wouldn't look so bad. BET is the most non informative network for our young black youth all they show is garbage videos with no substance and old tired reruns that teach you nothing. If you gonna show black womans asses and fake thug rappers on TV all day show some educated black people as well gives us more news segments on that negative things that plague our communities play some decent r&b neo soul music or something to offset the other garbage material. I don't watch BET anymore when at one time thats all i used to watch.

Wow. This kind of comes as a surprise, a totally different angle to trying to 'clean up' television. BET IS garbage...and MTV, well come on, it's MTV. I can't see this ploy really working, as everything is going to come down to money. BET has a large audience, that is ever expanding, and advertisers see this, so of course they want a peice of the pie. They know what slots are alotted to what audiences and sell themselves accordingly, not because of content, but because of the numbers. This is a business first, and it crosses over into music powerhouses, like Universal, and Sony. Obviously they're stake in the exposure from channels like BET and MTV are GREAT. Like they're going to let that go, HA! BET is owned by a conglomerate, VIACOM. The same company that owns Nickelodeon. These umbrella corporations are what RUN this country...and I seriously doubt that this little exploit will be enough to STOP mainstream Hip Hop. Hell, BET can't stop mainstream Hip Hop on BET! Too much money is being made from Hip Hop right now. I don't see this working...oh, and I'd be truly surprised if most of the parents who let their children watch ACTUALLY CALL IN. LOL, this little tyraid seems futile in the end.
