I think Jay was right when he said the album title was misguided. I also think a more powerful statement would have been made had he kept the title N***** and then not even use the word on the album at all. The problem is not the label its the artist. They copy what they see on TV and that dictates to the label what should be "hot." I believe it had more to do with the fact that there were threats of $84 million dollars which were invested in to Universal and Vivendi (Universal's parent company) to be withdrawn if the album title hadn't been changed. Unfortunately, if you don't own the company and all the funds-you kind of have to go with the flow. Regardless, It's going to be a blank cover probably with just his name on it. Yea, it wasnt bad. I just think he didn't put as much effort into the album as he could have. Maybe it was just the beats, as many will probably agree; Nas hasn't always had the best producers throughout his career. But then again it's not always about the beat either. Kinda tough to break this down.
