how is this a new idea, or something revolutionary? everythings online nowadays. record labels, retailers, etc. i'm still waiting for someone to prove this can be a viable business model for music. people been doing online labels for damn near a decade now.

when the said "digital label" I automatically figured all the artist on the label would have to use the voice altering equipment when they recorded..

It will be interesting to see how this pans out but his music is wack.

For the record what Peter Frampton did and what Roger Troutman did while they may sound similar to what T-Pain does, they are completely different. Peter Frampton uses a Talkbox which he plugged into his guitar and Roger plugged his Talkbox into a keyboard, you have to be able to actually play an instrument to do what they does in terms of voice manipulation.

T-Pain uses an auto-tuner which is designed to remove impurities from vocals and improve dead tones.

No problem fellas. Lil Wayne also used an auto-tuner on Lollipop and Akon uses it a lot as well. You can really hear it if you listen to some of J-Lo and Janet Jackson's music because the tones sound almost too precise and electronic. By comparison listen to any Mary J record and you can hear all of the rawness and impurities but at least she can still sing so she doesn't need it to hit certain notes. Same with Faith Evans, you can hear the rawness but even the imperfections sound better than auto-tuned vocals, well at least to me.
