wow... this is extremely sad. when it was reported that he died sometime last week and then the story reversed, i had hope and prayed he would pull through.

i dont even have the words to explainhow i am saddened by this.

though he was a comedian, he wasnt the typical comedian. he was part of obamas campaign and traveled with the candidate everywhere until he got sick overseas. he also was the ultimate humanitarian and became the legal guardian of his sisters children, yes his act was actually true.

this is extremely sad. this is gonna hit comedians everywhere. shit the entertainment industry should be mourning this for a while.

The Bernie Mac I will remember is the man in his book "Maybe You Never Cry Again." Talking about how he said he wanted to be a comedian when he was four years old after watching his mother cry, then suddenly stop crying and start cracking up at the TV. Bill Cosby was on the screen. He asked "What's that, mama?" And she said, "That's a comedian." And his four-year-old-self responded "That's what I want to be when I grow up, mama. Make you laugh like that, maybe you never cry again.", hence the title of the book. (of course his mom cried even harder after he said that.) I remember the Bernie Mac that performed comedy on the El train on the way to work and the Bernie Mac that lost his mother to cancer, lost his grandparents, lost his brother, lost his best friend to a psycho girlfriend, etc. I remember the Bernie Mac who joked about his young daughter saying "You're the meanest daddy in the world!" and him responding "You don't need no tall friends!" I said it on the rumors board Monday last week, and I'mma say it again. A lot of rappers say they been thru it, but read his story, it's deep. I read that book in 2003 and it gave me an inside look behind the comedy, that there's a real man who came from a real struggle. It's his biography and I'm glad I got to appreciate it long before he passed. I hope he is reunited w/ his lost loved ones as we speak. This is very solemn news to us, but he may very well be joining many he missed for a long time. My prayers go out to his wife and daughter, as well as other friends and family, but to him the most. I pray he had a dope relationship w/ God and we all draw closer to God thru this and all struggles. Rest In Peace to Bernie Mac.

Yes I watchd my Grandfather fight in his last hours its something you never forget it gives you a great ensight into Life, Death and Life Beyond, I looked in his eyes he was going in and out waking and falling back to sleep, its like they really do be crossing over or something, he told me he wasnt afraid he told me some conversations he was having, whatever he was seeing was alright with him as a matter of fact he wanted to go on instead of stay here, his breathing was real short he didnt want nothing to eat, he looked at me and said he was alright at the sametime you look at them and see they are not here anymore. My Grandmother is almost a 100 still talking and walking and she will not take "1" pill from a doctor hadnt in 50 years and she has been very sick at times, my own Doctor says he will not take pharmaceutical drugs or OTC. What is going on with these pharamceutical companies, healing one thing and killing another. Even their commericals list more side effects than healing properties.
