First and foremost big up's and much respect allhiphop I love the site. Do your thing. I am a 31 year old African American male who spent 5 1/12 in prison. While incarcerated I was able to obtain my GED as well as an associate degree. Upon my release in 2004 I enrolled into a Bachelor degree program and successfully completed my B.A. in Psychology. Today I work for a well known university and I'm currently finishing up my Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology and I was just accepted into the Doctorate Program for counseling. Now I am not just writing this for a pat on the back or anything, but I have been sending mad emails to the allhiphop staff for a interview. Yet i get no response so to allhiphop staff reading this i will not stop sending emails until someone gives me a chance to speak. I love this site and have been rocking with you guys for a minute. So i will not stop emailing and posting until I have a chance to share my story with allhiphop readers. The young people on this site need to here words of wisdom from someone other than a rapper or actor. Again, Much respect to allhiphop, my next step is to youtube and ask for an interview. So allhiphop staff give me a chance to speak to the fans of this site. love and respect

What fed him was rap music, he still owns and runs a label. Are you speaking of the content of the music? Are you mad that he doesnt rap about selling drugs and killing? Lots of different opinions on this topic, so here goes mine. Nothing wrong with growing up and maturing, and becoming a man, and doing good for yourself, but this guy truly keeps trying to distance himself from Hip Hop like he's ashamed or something. If it wasn't for Hip Hop he wouldn't be where he is right now, and to be honest his music was garbage anyway. His stuff was trash, but to each his own. Like i said nothing wrong with moving forward, but be proud of what made your name, and give respect where it is due.

Believe it or not, what we are witnessing here is the gradual maturation of not only Percy Miller, but on a larger scale, Hip-Hop in general. People, get used to seeing things such as this from our older Hip-Hop figures. To me this is only a portion of what's happening across the board in Hip-Hop. As the genre itself gets older, the artists and other participants get older too. However, those who really love Hip-Hop (especially RAPPERS who love Hip-Hop) can't just abandon it when they turn 40. And since the Hip-Hop audience doesn't appear to be ready for a 40+ year old rapper (hell, 35 is old to some), there are only a few options:

a) stop rapping and abandon Hip-Hop altogether.

b) keep rapping, ignore the fact you're 40 and block the hecklers out of your mind, or

c) find more mature ways to contribute to Hip-Hop, perhaps from a business standpoint (i.e. clothing, audio engineering, production, etc.).

It's good to see P is at least making HIS choice; a choice all of us who claim to love Hip-Hop will have to make one day, if we haven't already.
