But just like he's more so in to be a producer then he is a rapper and he's not that bad of a artist either even though none of his albums have had the same quality as his first (g-funk era) he still put together a few solid ones.

You might want to check out his 1999 album "I Want It All." It had a nice mix of his older style with a good amount of guest appearances to accentuate the LP. Most view it as his second best album.
