Sounds like he is getting the same deal as every other DJ in the world. He gets to suggest music and the Station Manager and Music Director get to say "no" when it doesn't appear on their pre-approved payola list.

Envy wants us to believe that the record labels aren't picking out of the music at 'ole Hot 97 anymore? Please negro. Envy is a plantation DJ like everybody else, his check is just a little bigger. (note i said little.)

This negro have any talent he'd be producing records are something that allowed him to truly work for himself. Radio Station jobs are for the no talent bums of the industry.

And there's the disclaimer. That's for those of you/us who have great music in the stash, but are missing a few links/resources when it comes to properly playing the political chess that is the music industry. This segment is sure to be super-selective to the point where only artists who are already on the mixtape circuit get a little extra window to shine over FM airwaves. They're not REALLY going to be "new artists", they're just going to be "new" to the masses. I'll bet any amount of money this is going to turn out to be just another bullshit segment to make HOT97 appear to be pioneering the assistance of undiscovered talent. We shall see. M*A*S*H Music, need a guy he is I, hello. LOL.

Cosign to the fullest. Envy has ALWAYS been the Dumbest employee of hot 97, I thought it was Cipher til I heard him on Kiss this morning ....but yeah fuck hot 97 with their payola pussies. Shout to Squeeze & Halftime. Ps Angie's bitch ass already attempted sumthin similar where the audience had to vote the next song into rotation & GARBAGE 97 didn't hold true to that either.
