i was there it wasnt awsome, it was like the yankees good on paper. flave ruined the PE set. toney starks no showed and the inspected voice is gone. wu was lack luster. blackstarr killed it, as usual. i saw the sunday show so i missed the legendary roots. but i caught MF DOOM who is star. so for what was a 12 hr. concert the bad out weighed the good. yes it was an accomplishemnt for the maturation of hip hop, but rock the bells was a bad case of growing pains.

Tight review... very visual and poignant. Funny how the legends stuck to the hits.

Only wish we could have heard more about the indie acts.

Maybe a part 2 review for the smaller stage shows? Was Murs there? Did Jean Grae perform?

Very good review tho, Jason. "So What Cha Sayin'" is my fav EPMD beat too. That track changed the game. AND the video did too.

Good review, but Cypress Hill brought the bong out before the song "Hits From the Bong"

And I keep hearin that Ghost wasnt there on Sunday, but he was def on the stage on Saturday

AND, Im PISSED I missed Pharoah's set, I was gettin off the ferry as he was performing, PISSED!

Yo I'm with you on that, I've neva seen WU live but I would've acted a plum fool and dumbed out "when Inspectah Deck's on the set"
I've seent the Roots live a ton of times, and I must say there show is the true essence of hiphop!

I was there, spent most of my time at the Paid Dues stage but saw @ least 10 min of each mainstage Act. It was awesome to have Zack de la Rocha dedicate a whole song to Immortal Technique. Shows just how far Tech has come and how much respect he receives based on his actions which speak VOLUMES!! and virtually NO promotion from the media or radio
I thought the Highlights were :
1)Rage, Immortal Tech/ Felt (ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT! & had the attention of any head w/in listening distance),
2) Flavor Flav revealing the tension that still remains evident with Chuck D by Flav saying " I was in the middle of somethin Chuck" after he thought Chuck D started their next song too soon
3) Brother Ali/ He had the whole crowd vibing through each and every song in his short but very impacting set
4) Wu-Tang/ I thought were kinda hard to understand, once again each member were filling each others lines like 75% of the time!!! It did kinda seem like a mostly METHODMAN set too. Im glad I @ least heard a solid verse from Ghost though w/no interruptions/ Redman made a quick cameo for the rockwilder
5) Mos Def even though it was evident there wasn't much preparation still sounded ill as ever with his voice calming the whole stoned out crowd and put a lotta smiles on people's faces

Overall Definately A Sickass show
