Love it, I love Lyte, it's always a big compliment to get compared to her and Laurynn. But I grew up on Lyte, Latifah, and Lefteye. (wassup w/ all these dope female MCs' name startin w/ an L?? lol)

The house version of Lyte as a rock is one of the best remixes of all time. That version was so popular in Chicago I thought it was the original. The album version never got play on radio,clubs or at parties. I was pissed when I bought the album and the house version wasn't on it. The album was great. Another classic from 1988.

mc lyte....damn, i remember '88....top of my game, big toys and gettin' money....i think during that time, lyte was the only female out that could get bumped on the set by real gangstas and cats would be bobbin' their heads like it was nothin'.
i dug lyte, still do, but i really rode for antionette (lol)...good to see "lyte thee mc" keep it real by acknowledging and shouting out her competition....real classy move, queen shit.
i'll always be an mc lyte fan, was proud to see her recognized at the hip hop honors, and would love to see her rock the mic live on state [note: lyte is the only prominent mc from the 90's i did not see live] stay strong mc lyte, keep up the good works.
