i tend to agree with the review...i was expecting so much more. The gentleman speaks on the hip v america and to congress in washington and i was just expecting a different level of music. The name of the album is the greatest story ever told, but i didnt get that vibe. It started out like that talking bout jesse and all, and then he went straight to the club, talking bout his candy paint, knocking a nigga out in a club...this is the same music people (masses) have a problem with, you speak about it publicy very well, then make the same music. Now...its not whack, he raps about those things on beat and it sound good for what it is, but i was kinda let down personally, i was just expecting more. I still am a fan though.

Let's be realistic for a second: Banner said on Hip-Hop vs. America that his only responsibilty as an artist is to sell records so of course you're going to hear the contradictory tracks on this album because he still has to sell records. If that's the case Nas is just as inconsistent with his tracks on Untitled. Both albums are deserving of 9 out of 10 and they are far more better than Wayne's album of no substance just metaphors on top of metaphors.

Banner and Nas have the 2 best albums of this year so far!!

What the worst part about this album is the fact it came out the same day as Nas, and by me coping both of them... it just made DB come out on the wrong in. I just cant get enough of Nas's album, and this coming from a Jay Z fan that tried so hard not to feel Nas but even when he came out with Stillmatic I had to show respect. Nas sticks to his theme on the album all the way thru and I LOVE IT! Soo.. now we got BD CD which I havent totally neglected but it just mixed everything together like gumbo. You had a "Run" like track for the strip clubs and than the first track which is so deep. I just dont think it meshed. And he also used the same like hard kicking drop? Whatever its called on alot of his produced tracks including the Stuntin is Habit single (which I love). So its a good album but because Nas came out the same day, its hard to love this joint.
P.S: I still LOOOVE David Banner though! Keep being real and being you!! You are what being "black" is all about.

Def. don't agree with this review at all. I love the album. Sure it can be looked at as contradictory, but I think Banner was just tried to appeal to all of his fans. Copped the album along with Nas earlier this week. I think TGSET was pretty good. Each song gave me a different emotion towards it. Some were uplifting and then some wanted me to go to get a lap dance. Overall it had some bangers. I like it anyway. Props to David Banner!

That was one of the most F'd up reviews I have read in a long time. Personally I enjoyed this CD, I actually went out and purchased this CD along with Nas on Opening Day 1.To Show my support to Good but failing music(I don't by CD's very often) 2. Beacuse I knew it would be well worth it (And I was Right).

I feel alot of AHH review's be on some Bull S#!t and reminds me of the review's that the Source used to hand out before Benzino left. AHH's reviews are biased I.M.O.

Yeah, certain songs on here were contradictory to other's but then again who's life isn't or wasn't a contradiction. Everyone I know that lives in the inner city and deals w/ the daily ills of life deal w/ it. As much as you want to do good and stay positive you still end up doing things in order to survive and make it through that go against your very own beliefs. If you listen close enough to TGSET he touches on all the subject's people in the Hood are going through and he's not just speaking to a specific audience.

Banner set the bar pretty high for himself with his first two albums. This album has it's high points, but overall i was pretty disappointed. The album seems rushed, and doesn't have a "story-telling" feel to it. I wish he would've taken a lil bit more time on it, and actually made the songs match the title. I'm a fan so i enjoyed it for what it was worth. Plus i see the potential for greatness there.
