Them dudes have had "stardom potential" for years. They are old now. The Funeral came out in like '97 - 11 years ago. Its over for them now. They just need to stay in their lane and do the type of music they do. They have proved that they are mixtape veterans who drive in that lane well. Malice is not far from 40 and I know Pusha is like 32...they HAD star potential, thats over now. I like them and their music...but I'd rather they stick to mixtapes and guest appearances.

I'm just wonderin' why they went out and purposely got Scott Storch, he basically just gave them "Players Only 2008" minus R. Kelly. They need to fuck niggas like The Alchemist, Rick Rubin & Primo. Hope their LP sounds way better than this mess

I actually think they meshed well with the Neptunes but they did need to work with other producers also. They always been nice, they're just linear as hell. One track minded. Yeah we know "you do this for the niggas on the block" and "bitch you move 'caine!" as Pusha would say but GOT DAMN! What else do you do? Can't say I'm a big Clipse fan since I had never heard any of the "Got It For Cheap" series, but this shit is ill. I guess I could understand being disappointed if they re-used songs that had already been out but as someone who is hearing all these tracks for the first time, this shit is fresh. Definitely different from their Neptunes shit, but I like the fact that its new. Lookin forward to the Clipse record.

alotta Wayne stans up in here im assuming....you guys forget, this isnt an official Clipse album....that shit is coming in the beginning of 2009....this was a Koch release so niggaz can get that legal money real quick.....that being said, i dunno if y'all were listening to the same album i was listening to...the cd was pretty good to me, as far as the Clipse portion ....even with recycled verses this cd is better than alotta other bullshit that's been released recently.....in my opinion, Clipse can do without Sandman and Ab-Liva....however, im pretty sure there's some type of street loyalty there, that's why the Clipse are helping these dudes out in the music game...

Now, though I agree they should diversify musically and lyrically, they got skills. And "missed the bus"??? They helped the bus get moving, dog. They been talkin about hustlin coke before T.I., Jeezy or Ross did. Didn't their first album drop in like 2000 or somethin?

@Death2thefakers , you have no clue on rap huh? dudes been rapping about coke since 1986 since Ice T. even in 90's ugk and scarface and countless others have done it.

raekwon, has a classic album based primarily on that ( 1994 cuban linx).

however, the source and xxl mags, have given the clispe the title as the kings of coke rap. no one or group has been as complex witty or creative with coke flows and metaphors.

ti and jeezy are dumbed down coke raps. at best. no disrespect either. both are good. they just fail in comparison.

in regards to the album, i was really disapointed with the recycled rhymes and bottom basement production. granted, all the rappers do that. i expected more from the clispe. they are waay too talented and lyrical for that. granted, this is a easy check but at what expense? the review is on point. the writer gave them tons of props. the music overall was not there.

for sandman and liva, they are not that bad. it's just the clispe are just MUCH better than them. if you check out the we got it for cheap mixtapes, they all have their moments. liva actually steals the show at times. no crap. you can even go back to COT DAMN and liva kills it. with that said, they are still nicer than 87% of southern rappers. at least lyrically.
