I respect Juelz picks, alot of new cats probably will put Wayne on their list....Me personally I would'nt Wayne is aiight, but he don't talk about nothing....Real surprise he didn't put Cam on there, but then again Cam wild out with his flow....Confession of Fire was a tight album, Cam came with a different rap style that was unique, but after that album, he started doing stuff that was popular at the time.......Having Pac, Big, Ra and Jay are safe picks, but they are good picks, but really don't understand how u can leave NAS out...I would put Nas on the list way before Jay and Wayne......Jay would be on my list due to his earlier stuff....He was clever with his rhymes, but after Blueprint he lost me.....Reasonable Doubt was his best album I jam that to this day...."Politics as Usual" to me is the best Jay-Z jam, that joint to me goes hard....Clever wordplay, Tight ass beat..Jay came tight on that track......
Rap Music has changed big time and a lot of classic stuff came out of the 80's and 90's.......only an handful in the new century.......once wack ass rappers started getting a shot, then the game went down....half of these rappers today wouldn't of gotten a deal 10-15 years ago...

Your'e right about the tupac accusations, 100%. He was more than a GREAT rapper. And to be honest, B.I.G. shouldn't really be compared with those who have worked alot longer, but think about it, after Pac there was B.I.G., Jay, KRS-One and Nas for quite some time, and all are in the type 5 to me with the exception of one,(KRS-One). He created a better view of the hood through a lyrical lens, Jay continued that legacy. In-a-sense, it was like Jay came where B.I.G. left off. Jay, to me, is an overall complete rapper, but as far as poetry, which is what Hip-Hop is, Nas has him beat. What you think? And as far as Mr.Cool J, RS-One and Eminem, they should be placed in the top 10.

I like Biggie but i don't understand why he is considered the best by a lot of people when he only dropped 2 studio albums (3 if u count Born Again). MrGODBYROAD in my oponion pac was one of the greatest cause he was one of the few rappers who spoke to people through his his music! In his first 3 albums you could feel his pain and his joy and see the growth in him as a person! How many other artists can u say have done that. He made hit records and he made records for the street (Thug Life vol 1) he didnt give a fuck what anyone said (Shit he had a whole side of the country against him).

I respect that u have your own oponion and you can like who YOU want to like and im sorry for coming across so harsh but in my oponion JAY, PAC, BIG, BIG PUN and Ice Cube are my top 5, because i was affected by there music in some way.

I think when people are choosing there top Five they're just naming some people that they like and not using the facts. Some of my favorite artists arent lyrical at all and I would not put them in a top five. U have to be honest with yourself. I love biggie and pac and all of that, but shit big just had 2 fucking albums. Ive heard niggaz rap better than him. Hell Pac wasnt all that fucking lyrical. Niggaz just like pac because of his attitude. I love them niggaz but lets get real. Cant nobody out rap Canibus,chino xl, and Em. Isn't this gettin' a little old? Seriously. Let's re-phrase the question. Who WAS the dopest for a certain time period, who has had the most longevity, who COULD have held the crown? We need to have catagories/classifications people! How can you list Kane and omit G Rap. How do you say that Grand Puba was any better than CL Smooth (and vice versa)? Who can chose between Lamont Coleman and Chris Rios?

I'm a hip hop head with a full time job, a beautiful fiancee', and two kids.

I still beg the question, do I need to fire half the staff, slap iiiseed, and bring it to Grouchy? ( i jest, bruh - nuff respects!)

Ultimately, my frustration is that there are about 50 emcees( all worthy of a spot on a new "Tony Toca All Time Greats"), -none of which we'll find on an MTV countdown.

Five is a reasonable number for a five year period. But for all time? Juelz Santana is a worthy fella for commentary , but that kid is like 25 years old. Age aint nothin' but a number, but as I recall you just asked Corey Gunz for his opinion last week. Right? True.

You cats have one of the most recognized sites online. Ask Redman, Q-Tip, Kris Parker. Better yet, have Wise Intelligent ask Ill and Al Scratch. Are we all on the same page?

BTW- No disrespect to the great Tupac Shakur, Shawn Carter, or Christopher Wallace. All legends- dead or alive.

Juelz has a decent list of MCs. They are all sick in there own right, but I think he is leaving out important one's such as Jadakiss, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, and either one of the Clipse, oh and our boy Nas.
I think it is to early to call Lil Wayne in the top five. His deliver and flow is nice, and he has worked his ass off in the mixtape circuit. But this is coming from our boy who put out The Block is Hot and Lights Out. Don't get me wrong I bought and still bump these records but there are some credible mc's that have dropped bombs out the gate and have consistently been dropping solid albums. For instance Jadakiss came hard starting with the Lox album, guest apperances and his own LP's. Less we for get 50 Cent, love him or hate him, he still has the mixtape game fucked up. And I still hear mcs who take a page out of his material.

I wouldn't put Biggie in any top 5, maybe top 10. He was nice, changed the game, but only made it to what.. 2 albums (while alive) just like Big Pun. I'd put an asterick next to that entry. Again, Lil Wayne top 10, but not top 5. I think most people just say 'Biggie' to sound cool and avoid coming off awkwardly.
