ALLHIPHOP WEEK - "The Rebirth"
Whew! This AllHipHop Week 2007 has been really doing the twist like Chubby Checker! There are all sorts of hot things jumping off. Like Russell Simmons and Diddy hosting an All-Star Gala in Manhattan (Shhhhhh)! You know, like LL Cool J hosting the Fashion show with fab model Liris Crosse. What do you know about the outspoken David Banner, Wendy “Queen of All Media” Williams and cleaned-up mogul Master P joining Dr. Cornel West for our roundtable discussion called the AllHipHop Social Lounge? Wyclef sings and reads to kids? You want a battle? Joe Budden, Mistah Fab, Royce Da 5’9” and a soon-to-be-named third act will have a Celebrity Rap Battle in the spirit of REAL HIP-HOP. Oh, yeah, the winner gets this crazy iced-out watch from Freeze Watches! The Urban Art Show was one of the best events last year and – guess what? This year is no different and with Farnsworth Bentley hosting, you know it’s going to be something else.

T.I. - NEW MOVIE!
There is a new movie from T.I. coming up in the next year. Now, I don’t know really any details, but I know it co-stars Big Dris aka Idris Elba from “The Wire.” I also heard that they are goingto be playing two “thug” characters that are on opposite sides – rivals. Anyway, they are both supposedly going for that big heist or something. I’m not sure, but its good to see Tip doing some big things in Hollyhood.
50 CENT AND KANYE ARE SELLING ALREADY
You know all those presales and those pre-orders? They have already started the countdown to these two glorious albums! That’s right, 50 Cent is outselling Kanye West buy about 20,000 units in the preorders. The count is 339,079 for 50 and 319,212 for Kanye. I can honestly say I don’t know when they went on sale over there or anything. I know next week 50 Cent is headed straight to Europe to promote his album. This is bigger than when Meth & Red did “Month of the Man.”
KANYE WEST DISSES MTV
There is a new “Hip-Hop” term where people say “I get it in.” Now, I’m not even sure what “I get it in” means, but I think it means what Kanye is doing. He’s allegedly started to either 1) boycott MTV, 2) never to work with them again or 3) take them all to freakin’ hell! Seriously, Kanye is upset that he didn’t get to perform on the big stage. He told NY’s Z100 that he was given the impression that the smaller suites was the sure shot.
“I wasn’t mad that I just didn’t win any awards,” West says. “For me, [MTV] made it seem like performing on the main stage was a bad thing, and the suites were just so great. It was my dream when I made ‘Stronger’ to open up the VMAs with a real power performance.
He’s already deaded plans to promote Graduation on MTV’s teen dream TRL.
He also was heated at the comments made by fight-starter Pamela Anderson Lee, who said that she and Kanye made out when he did that Evil Knievel video.
"One of the best times I've ever had was making out with the next performer in the middle of the desert. I think I had my tongue so far down his throat I could taste his fiancée – and I might need a repeat performance later tonight."
Pam would want to taste the man's fiancée – she’s tasted everything else. According to people.com, Ye said:
"I'm engaged, and I feel like it's disrespectful to my relationship," West says of Anderson's remarks, which he claims the network assured him would not happen.
Lastly, Kanye West came to the rescue of Britney Spears like a Black Super Man.
“They exploited Britney in helping to end her career,” “When Britney was opening, near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, ‘Man, it’s a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out.’
HURRICANE MOM AND LIL’ DAD
If you are about 18 or so, it is likely that your parents were raised on Hip-Hop music. If your parent is in their 30’s…they might have rapped in their day. Now, I can’t confirm, but I heard that two of the biggest rappers out right now have their parents rapping in their video. The new Lil’ Mama video has an older rapper in it where she refers to him being her “Daddy.” I heard that rapper is – GASP – her real Dad.
And then there is Hurricane Chris, who has the “Ay Bay Bay” [remix] and there is a rugged lady in there reminisced of 90s rapper Boss…I heard that is his mother spittin those hard raps. Could this be the latest trend? Who knows? The top rappers are already 30 and up so it’s possible. ;) On yeah, Hurricane Chris and Cassidy will be at the AHH BBQ…RSVP info coming soon.

Sentencing for the guys is approaching rapidly. I don’t know if people can hear, but there is a riot going on! Its about to be on and on ‘til the break of dawn so we need this to go the right way. WAS IT JEEZY?
My homegirl sent me this quote from the new issue of Essence magazine and Keyshia Cole is talking about her former relationship. Her relationship was with a man with a 10-year-old son. Now, she couldn’t reveal the identity of the man, but she gave some clues. First, was the son. Second, she said she was dating the man for a year and a half. Third, she broke off the relationship after the man asked her to marry her. She didn’t name names, but could it be the Snowman?
“I just couldn’t do it. It’s weird. After this guy proposed to me, I was like, dang, this is everything a woman lives for: to be married, with a ring, to be able to represent something. But for me, it was the opposite. I was scared. When you get married, you become one; you don’t live just for yourself anymore. I’m just not ready for that. I’m not done with my goals in life. What’s the word when you just kind of fall back and let your man do the man thing? Submit? I’m all jacked up on that word. I just couldn’t submit. But I loved him. That’s the crazy thing about it. It’s been hard because I really missed that child.”

A “BLACK REPUBLICANS” VIDEO?
My girl Archna hit me up and told me that Nas was supposed to have a video for “Black Republicans,” the song with former nemesis Jay-Z. WOW. On top of everything, Spike Lee was supposed to direct the video. Guess why they never did it? Spike and Nas couldn’t agree on a treatment for the video, Aww man…that’s crazy. Archie also told me that Nas’ vid for “Hustlers” – which features The Game – was cut, edited and finished – but the timing was off. I think its time to release that to the internet. Also, Nas is expected to drop a new CD this year…right in the December range.
SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

If you know Philly, you know it is wild over there, but did you know they are getting medival? Well, not “they,” but one guy sure is. According to ABC News, homicide DT’s say this murder was “one of the goriest crime they have ever seen.” Two men attacked some people with a two-foot sword in a robbery attempt. “Twenty-year-old Anthony DiMattio appeared to have been stabbed at least five times in the head and torso during an apparent robbery.” What the police say is that the men used DiMattio’s own sword on him and actually injured themselves in the process. The men were bleeding as they fled the scene of the crime.
KID ROCK VS TOMMY LEE!
Tommy Lee and Kid Rock got it on! You remember Tommy Lee had another scrap that The Kid was at in Detroit. Rich Nice, a good friend of Sway told what he saw to the AP. Kid Rock backslapped and punched Tommy. See his statement below.
"It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him. And Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like `Yo, what?'"
"When Tommy stands up is when Kid hit him the first time with a backhand. And then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again -- bong. And then security grabs Tommy Lee in a headlock and pulls him off."
Nice! Kid Rock now faces six months in jail for his assault. Rock-n-Roll is dead. Word to Alice Smith. Get at me, Tommy!

Justin and Rhianna went home together after the VMAs, according to mediatakeout. I’m not sure I believe that.
They said Brit was drinking heavily before the show and likely affected her performance. I’m not going to mention what she was doing after the show.
I heard Mike Jones got pushed back? Not sure, but that’s what I am hearing.
Oscar-winning songstress Jennifer is going from "Dreamgirls" to "Sex and the City: The Movie." This is her first movie since playing Effie.
