Another crazy week in college football

#1 LSU played host to the defending champs #9 Florida Gators under the lights on Saturday night. Would Florida's offense be able to rebound and look alive against the Tiger's defense, ranked number one overall in the nation? For the first half, the answer was yes. Florida decided to ram the ball down the throat of the Tigers and it was working. Les Miles blamed his team's 10 point half time defecit on poor tackling, and said "we get the ball, and if we come out and get 7, then we're only down 3. Our defense then has to step up." They got the message at half time. The Bayou Bengals came out and put together an 8 minute drive for a TD on their opening possession of the 2nd half. Florida responded with a TD on it's own 5 minute drive. From then, LSU's defense went to work. A fumble by Keyston Moore and a INT that hit WR/TE Cornelius Ingram in the side of the helmet on UF's next 2 possessions proved to be the turning point. Down the stretch, LSU was running, throwing, when they wanted, to who they wanted, how they wanted. They were gambling on 4th and short and didn't miss once. Urban Meyer gets the SMH move of the night. With under two minutes to go, and LSU inside the Gator's 10 yard line, he hesitated almost 30 seconds to call a timeout. He still had all 3 t.o.'s left at this point, so it's really lost on me why he didn't use it earlier. A touchdown run by Jacob Hester on the next play, making the score 28-24, proved to be the stake in the heart of the champs. The Gators were left to a Hail Mary as time ran out that was broken up, putting the Gators on their first losing streak since the Ron Zook era.

#2 USC got kicked in the stomach at home by unranked Stanford 24-23, snapping a 35 game home winning streak by the Trojans. Tavita Pritchard threw a fade to WR Mark Bradford on 4th and goal with 49 seconds left in the second biggest shocker of the year. This came after the Stanford head coach, Jim Harbaugh, said that USC shouldn't have lost their #1 ranking, stating that not only are they the best team this year, but probably ever. Well coach, the best of all time don't get beat. Not in college football. The Trojans amassed over 450 yards of total offense, but turnovers killed them, including an interception on the last drive of the game to seal the victory for the Cardinals. Did I mention that Tavita Pritchard was making his first career start? Not a bad way to get your feet wet, kid.

#4 Ohio State played at #23 Purdue in a Big Ten showdown. Ohio State QB Todd Boeckman threw a career high 3 int's, but the Buckeye defense had his back. Ohio State took a 23-0 lead in to the last 2:45 of the game, giving up a meaningless touchdown to the surprise of the Big Ten Boilermakers.

#5 Wisconsin went in to Champaign expected to work the Ron Zook led Illini. Illinois had other plans, and bad intentions. Rashard Mendenhall had 160 yard carrying and 2 TD to go along with his 33 yards and another TD receiving. Illinois took an 11 point lead in to halftime, and never looked back. The Badgers scored a touchdown to bring them within 6 with 1:31, but the game was never really all that close. This ened the longest running winning streak in the country at 14. It put Illinois at the top of the Big Ten with a 3-0 confrence record, and is sure to have them ranked this week.

#6 South Florida went down to Ft. Lauderdale and survived a scare by Florida Atlantic, 35-23. Bulls running back Ben Williams rushed for 186 yards and 4 TDs while athletic QB Matt Grothe added 120 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own. The bulls will probably drop in the polls this week, but should still be top 10. They have a solid test next week as the welcome instate rival Central Florida to the bay area.

Undefeated #7 Boston College will slide in to the top 5 after putting a whoopin on lowley Bowling Green, 55-24. Eagles QB Matt Ryan is continuing his great season by throwing for 312 yards and 4 TDs. BC plays at Notre Dame next week, who might be tougher than expected.

#8 Kentucky went to Columbia, SC to face the #11 Gamecocks in what was the 2nd biggest matchup in SEC of the week. 'Cats QB Andre Woodson didn't play up to his usualy high par, but managed 227 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT on the stiff Spurrier led defense. South Carolina DE Eric Norwood scored 2 defensive touchdowns, and that was the difference. The win, 38-23, kept Steve Spurrier's streak of never losing to Kentucky, ever, alive.

The Red River Shootout is always a big deal in Big 12 country. This year it held some extra weight, as both teams came in with a loss, meaning the losing team is more than likely out of the National Championship race. Freshman QB Sam Bradford led #10 Oklahoma to the W, 28-21, by throwing for 244 yards and 3 TDs. Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy had #19 Texas close by throwing for 324 yds and 2 TDs of his own. Sooners RB Demarco Murray proved to be the difference running for 128 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Texas runs the risk of dropping out of the top 25, though I'm not sure they should

Unranked Tennessee exploded for 21 points in the second quarter, upsetting #12 Georgia 35-14.

#13 West Virginia molly wopped sad Syracuse 55-14. Bad news for the Mouintaineers, as Pat White was knocked out of the game for the second straight week, and will probably miss time in the next few games.

# 15 Va. Tech went to Death Valley to play #22 Clemson and came out alive and well. The defeated the young Bowden's Tigers 41-23 in a game that was never really close after the Hokies put up 17 in the 1st and 14 in the 2nd quarter to Clemson's 8 total first half points.

The #17 Mizzou Tigers welcomed the #25 Nebraska Cornhuskers to town, and weren't very good hosts. They abused the big red to the tune of 41-6. Tigers QB Chase Daniel threw for a career high 401 yards in the romp.

#18 Arizona State survived against Washington State on a last minute FG to win 23-20 Thomas Weber knocked it through with 50 seconds left to give the Sun Devils the W.

#20 Cincinnati visited the Scarlet Knights of #21 Rutgers, and made their presense felt, coming out with a 28-23 victory after puttin up a 21 spot in the 3rd. Rutgers runs the risk of dropping out of the top 25, after being in the top 10 just last week.

Kansas beat #24 Kansas State 30-24 in Manhattan. This makes the Jayhawks 5-0 for just the 3rd time in 39 years. Look for Kansas to be ranked this week.

@518, come on my man, you have to completely disregard the official story and understand what's really going on.

The towers were brought down by controlled demolition.  That's why they came down in free fall.  There were bombs set up in towers and there was evidence of "cutter charges" on the beams at the base.  That is, the beams were cut at perfect 45 degree angles consistent with a standard controlled demolition.

According to one of the architects of the WTC, he equated a plane going into the WTC like sticking a pencil through a screen window.  Basically, the damage would be sustained at the site of impact and nothing more.

The fires were no where near hot enough to melt the steel and in fact, there were no "raging infernos".  Pictures captured that morning show people standing at the site of impact and waving for help.  There was plenty smoke, but firefighters in the buildings had reported that most of the fires were contained and there was absolutely no fear of collapse.  

What about WTC 7?  This building was farthest away from towers 1 and 2 and it was claimed that debris from the collapses hit 7 and the fires once again caused this behemoth building to collapse.  Oddly enough, photographs of building 5 and 6 which were right next to 1 and 2 show them completely ENGULFED in flames and yet neither building collapsed and what remained were the beams.  

Also, WTC 1 and 2 were both condemned due to high levels of asbestos and it was going to cost billions to correct that.

Let's not forget Marvin Bush, brother of GWB was in charge of the companies that provided security to the Towers, United Airlines and Dulles Int'l airport.

This is one of the best threads I've seen on this site. I would guess the main reason for that is because most of the young kids are off doing homework, like they should be. Keep them grades up, and remember it's not what they say that u should focus on but, what they don't tell you.  Always read between the lines, you'll realize the fine print isn't always so small.

I see there's a wealth of knowledge in here and it's almost like a breath of fresh air in here. Even though some of the facts may be a little
incorrect, the underlying themes are good for us to be talking about. I just hate all the internet beefs and what not. Considering the subject matter it would appear that most of us can articulate our points with out degrading each other.  We can agree to disagree without being ultra-disrespectful. I mean we as Blacks in America do more harm to each other than whites  do. Let's be better. It's only through unity that we will achieve what we DESERVE.

Watch what you say on the internet about starting revolutions and shit like that because you know BIG BROTHER, (not Jay-Z) is watching. And they would like nothing more than to arrest and detain anyone who wishes to change status quo.
