THE BET HIP-HOP AWARDS

Well, I heard a lot of stuff went on over the BET weekend. It’s so much, I can’t even really relay all that I heard. I will try.

I heard Katt Williams was very good. I got a quote where he said of Michael Vick, “I’m not saying what he did was right, but we killed 30 Iraqis today.”

The crowd really loved and respected Common.

Lil’ Wayne performed and really got into it. He got so into it, that when he finished, he threw everything on the ground – his glasses, his coat and other stuff – and went into the crowd. He was hugging his family, Baby and his kids.

JD and Keyshia Cole are about the same height.

Krs-One mentioned on air, to the crowd that they are working on an updated version of “Stop The Violence” aka “Self Destruction.” KRS took home the “I Am Hip-Hop” Icon Award, which was presented by Dr. Cornel West.

Somebody saw Terrence J attempting to lift up the booty of Deelishus of “Flavor of Love” who was in the crowd.

I don’t know which one, but I heard one of the “Flavor of Love” chicks wasn’t allowed to walk the red carpet. I also heard that the same chick bought her ticket from a website that didn’t make it.

During the course of the show, T.I. was on everybody’s mind, I heard. Wyclef, Busta Rhymes and Alpha Mega performed in his honor. The only thing is,  nobody knew Tip’s raps, I heard. On top of that, I heard it seemed that T.I. was there, but it was actually Katt clowning.  T.I. was supposed to be the closer of the show, but you will see who actually does that.

OUTSIDE OF THE AWARDS – OTHER GOINGS ON

JD and BET had the really big party over the weekend at his Club 72. I heard it was pretty poppin’ like popping corn. Nelly and Ashanti came out to the place, but only Nelly did the red carpet. Good too see them going strong. I don’t know for sure, but I think that Ludacris showed up as well. I heard others came through, but I don’t know. Rumor has it, the ladies were looking fantastic.

There were other parties that day that went well too.

OTHER STUFF

Ne-Yo had a midnight breakfast at his studio Compound in the A. I heard the studio is really nice and a lot of the socialites in the area came though. I heard BET’s Deb Lee was there, as was Trina the Diamond Princess. People ate waffles, grits and turkey bacon.

On Sunday, Minister Louis Farrakhan had a brunch with many in the Hip-Hop Nation. From what I heard, it was a great event. I heard Chuck D, Prof. Griff were there with the S1W’s. Here is a listing of the other people I heard were there: Killer Mike, Teddy Riley, Dougie Fresh, Diamond D, No ID, Organized Noise, Cee-Lo, David Banner, DJ Toomp, N’Dea Davenport of the Brand New Heavies. I will have more information on the Minister’s speech, but right now, I don’t have that information.

Also on Sunday, DJ Drama had a video shoot for his album. I heard that there was a pretty damn somber vibe, because T.I. is now incarcerated. Tip was supposed to be in the video, but was MIA due to the feds. Still, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zeekey were there together, showing Dipset is still very strong. This video seems to be cool from what I heard.

DJ Khaled was there in The A doing a video too. I don’t know. I think it was a remix for "I’m So Hood." Fat Joe was there in a very boss-like capacity. So was Rick Ross. Young Berg was in the house. So was Cassidy. Busta Rhymes, Slim Thug, Dougie Fresh, Jalil from Whodini and KRS-One reportedly showed up to support. I heard Baby from Cash Money was very late getting to the video shoot.

Rumor has is Disturbing Tha Peace had a bowling party at midnight Monday morn.

Lil’ Wayne stayed at one of the very ritzy hotels in the Atlanta and he was very cool. I heard he took pictures with people and didn’t trip with all the people requesting pictures.

The Girls from Crime Mob were spotted all over the city at various events.

T.I. has a day in court today.

DIDDY SMACKING CATS UP?

I don’t know what happened, but I heard Diddy slapped the fire out of this dude down with Dame Dash named “Stevie.” I mean, I don’t know what happened, but the rumor says Stevie and Diddy got into some sort of an altercation over a girl. I can’t really say what happened. I heard there was a verbal spat and a two-piece to the noggin. Now, some say it was a slap and other say it was a pair of punches. Then Diddy’s security got into it and handled their biz. Anyway, this Stevie dude is in the video for Dame’s “International Grizzly.”

See below.

http://allhiphop.com/blogs/multimedia__video/archive/2007/10/04/18688527.aspx

DID TINY GET ARRESTED TOO?

We know that the Feds got T.I.,but I am hearing word that they bumrushed his house and arrested his girl Tiny as well in their ongoing investigation. I mean, I hope not. Sheeeeeeeesh! I honestly have not read any media reports on this case (not even AHH) and I’m hearing that Tip allegedly was coppin’ in response to some sort of fight. Hey, I am willing to be ignorant on this one. I’m just hoping the homey T.I. isn’t guilty of what they are accusing him of. It would be like a mouse gettign caught going for the cheese.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

According to young black and fabulous, Lauryn Hill is pregnant by her man Rohan. Well, they aren’t together so I guess he is a baby daddy.

Did you all hear about Foxy missing a court date because her hair and makeup weren’t done? Jail doesn’t have a stylist as far as I know.

Wu Tang is coming back, but it's looking like a rocky road with all the rumored infighting, More on this later, but it's not far off from what I said before.

I am hearing Timbaland is all set to produce most of Beyonce’s next CD.

A Jadakiss CD on Def Jam might actually come under the Roc-A-Fella brand.

Bizzy Bone isn’t back with Bone Thugs, but he’s got a solo CD on the way. I also heard that he was at the BET Rap Awards and was ready to mingle with a certain white female in the music game.

Young Jeezy is rumored to be working on his new CD. I heard Jeezy was all over ATL doing work. I heard he opened a clothing store in the A as well.

My Free obsession just won’t go away. She has a new song (new to me at least) with Faith Evans. Click the link below for the vid.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/4194506d4c4f60/

R.I.P. to Big Moe.

Peace – one thing I learned over the weekend. 1) Respect your life and 2) Be careful. One wrong decision and your life changes course on a dime. More rumors later in the day.

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

T.I.'s bodyguard sounds like he turned MAJOR snitch in a bad way.  Hip-Hop police are obviously involved in this, and it looks like T.I. could be in for a bad one, because the Feds don't play.  When Gotti and them got snatched up by the FEDS, it looked like a no winner, because FEDS don't lose cases.  They say folks have like a 5 or 10% chance of beating a FED rap, so here's to hoping T.I. gets past this one.

I was worried something bad was gonna happen in Hip-Hop real soon, because it's been a while since we have had some MAJOR negativity hit a "star" of the game...and then this happens.  Why Tip, why?  Get someone else to make those kinda moves for you.  Someone you can trust.  Someone who knows that if/when ish goes down, they are taking the fall, not the big guy.  See, the big guy has to stay around to make sure everyone else eats.  Soldiers are supposed to go to work for you.  This bodyguard musta been like a brotha to him, but he obviously wasn't THAT brotha.

I'm not condoning what TIP is involved in....but he shoulda thought this out more clearly.  They gonna go after him like Vick x 10 man....just crazy...

Again, if you gonna do dirt, you gotta find a way to be better about it...all bad situation...

I mean he was 100 % stupid i think if this is true its a slip up but to the  dude that said why he need all them guns .... wasnt it last year his Personal Assitant was killed when they was driving down a road and someone opened fire and noones been caught yet. It's a shame that they would even put that on the website (it's good for his reputation in his line of buisness)...All this does is make them look at hip-hop like it's a horrible thing.

Real talk though...we see these rappers/celebrities doing all types of stuff that we say "Damn they stupid!", etc.  but they are just regular people.  They got people that hate their status, family trying to get at them to get money.  Not to mention just the everyday jealous person.  With this world being as crazy as it is, you never know what is going to happen.  I ain't saying that he's right for what he did, and I ain't saying that the FED's are 100% wrong and they are just targeting him.  I AM SAYING...if he felt that he needed the guns for a unforseen reason, there is a way to go about doing things.

JRZEEMA...LMAO... SEE.. and i see and hear that alot... kids these days indirectly look up to ip hop artists... just like hip hop artists and any other entertainer indirectly influence kids...

That's why it's irritating when i see hip hop artists (people who influence me musically) slip up and do something stupid... I mean they don't know how many kids are now born into the hip hop lifestyle and want to be just like their favorite artists.. it's sad because may want toblame parents nowdays for not raising their kids right... Umm Hello? kids today can be brought up great at home and can be a whole other thing in school... u know how much peer pressure is growing on kids each year? with all the new negative activities invented lol kids are bound to want to fit in even when they know they were raised in a good home...

times change and i'm starting to think parents can't raise their kids 24/7... when a couple hours out of the day their kids are somewhere supposedly learning (where the peer pressure is at to feel accepted/fit in)...

co-sign re: TIP. fa real tho, it's so many people hatin' in the world, especially on a rich and famous (and sexy lol) black man that he probably felt justified in tryna purchase the guns for the safety of his family and himself.

it's easy to judge his actions, standing outside the situation. but with mo money comes mo problems. so if we've ever felt threatened as regular everyday folks, i can imagine how it must feel if ur famous. in this particular case i'm just not getting the vibe that it's all about living up to his image. just my perspective.

at the same time i understand that point too. but that is the whole dichotomy of gangsta rap, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy...

i'll holla back when i get to work, y'all!

Now rule 1 get ya cash on M.O.B,
That's money ova bitchez cuz they breed envy
Now rule 2 is a hard one, watch for fonies,
Keep yo enemies close nigga watch ya homies"

T.I has to be smarter than that, especially him being a convicted felon. I know these cats have enemies, jealous ones at that, but there are ways around it. Hire some official bodyguards and not hood niggaz u grew up wit. Bulletproof ya whips, move to a gated community. Be smarter than that, it seems like for every step u take forward, u take two steps back.
This case does seem a lil fishy I might add but i'm sorry to say this but when the feds gets involved, u gone do some time, REGARDLESS!

As far as T.I. his bodyguard was on some fowl shit. TIP is probably looking at some solid time, because, as he says on his CDs, he's a 7 time convicted felon. This makes 8. I hope Cycl-1777 was right when he said "The gov't doesn't work that fast." Unfortunately, I think it was such an easy target, and it happened so quickly that they didn't really need to work. I bet the bodyguard got arrested and started singin before he got downtown. "Hey what if I can help you arrest a convicted felon/millionaire/rapper for buying machine guns and silencers. On Saturday. First of all silencers are illegal period. Even in gun states. It's an assasins weapon and in NYC i think its an automatic 7 years getting caught with a silencer.

Nothin is wrong with wanting to own a gun.. but the law was setup to keep guns out of the hands of felons.

October 14, 2007. Yesterday, MediaTakeOut.com was the first news source in the world to report that rapper TI was arrested by federal agents on charges stemming from an alleged firearms purchase. Now we've got some more EXCLUSIVE info into TI's arrest.

MediaTakeOut.com spoke exclusively with someone intimately involved with TI. And according to that individual, the charges against rapper TI are completely false!!

According to TI's friend, the rapper never tried to purchase any guns through his bodyguard. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "[The bodyguard] asked TI for an advance on his [pay] and TI gave it to him .... Whatever he spent money on - whether it be guns, drugs, or formula for his children - TI had nothing to do with it." The insider continued, "The government was just looking to pin a case on TI - they've been trying for years. So they pushed [the bodyguard] into snitching on TI."

And the insider claims that the cache of weapons found in TI's home was not his either. The insider explains, "TI has security that live with him and stay with him at all times. The guns that the [federal agents] found belonged to his security team ... And by the way, [the members of his] security team are licensed to carry firearms."

Only problem with that is I heard that the guns weren't registered. Doesn't matter if you have a liscense or not, an unregistered weapon is just that.

CO-SIGN what GawgaBwoy said all fuckin day. If the bodyguard would have never asked a stupid fuckin question to the guy working at the gun store this shit would have never happened. This is from BET:

Updated Oct. 14, 2007 -- Details continued to emerge on T.I.'s arrest Saturday night in Atlanta, just hours before he was to take the stage at BET's 2nd Annual Hip-Hop Awards. As the top nominee, with nine total, T.I. was expected to perform with both Wyclef Jean and Busta Rhymes. Instead, federal authorities took him into custody, alleging that the 27-year-old rap star gave his bodyguard cash to buy firearms.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr.,  is accused of giving his bodyguard $21,000 in cash to purchase machine guns for him, since T.I. is prohibited from owning weapons as a convicted felon. The bodyguard, acting as a confidential witness, then purchased nine weapons for the rapper and one weapon for another unnamed person. According to the AJC.com,  Harris was charged with two felonies - possession of three unregistered machine guns with two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. Harris was arrested at approximately 2: 30 p.m., in the parking lot of Walgreens drug store at the corner of North and Piedmont Avenues in Atlanta.

His longtime girlfriend, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and Grand Hustle artists Young Dro and Mac Boney were arrested as well. See the photos of their arrest at www.concreteloop.com.

Authorities began an investigation when a federal firearms dealer contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives earlier this month after a man inquired about buying a machine gun without registering the weapon. Harris' bodyguard, in his employ since July, was arrested Wednesday on charges of trying to purchase a gun from a federal agent and became a "cooperating witness."

"This investigation developed very quickly," Vanessa McLemore, an ATF special agent, said in a statement. "We learned only this Wednesday that the cooperating witness was allegedly buying the machine guns for Harris. The cooperating witness told Harris on Thursday that he had obtained the items, and on Friday Harris made it clear that he wanted them delivered to him [Saturday]. Harris then agreed to meet and took possession of the machine guns [Saturday] afternoon."

A witness at the scene described it as "total drama" saying that a large group of police and federal agents with guns drawn ordered T.I. and other men to the ground. He says a Range Rover and a tan Suburban were towed from the parking lot, according to AJC.com.

As the BET Hip-Hop Awards taping went on, T.I's large home in the College Park section of Atlanta was being raided. ATF agents found three rifles, two pistols and a revolver. Five of the weapons were loaded. Three guns were identified as weapons purchased by the confidential witness and delivered to Harris. Agents also seized ten boxes of items from his garage and papers and files, the AJC.com said.

A women who identified herself as Harris' mother pulled up in a GMC Yukon with what she said was Harris' lawyer on a cell phone. She asked an ATF agent for an accounting of items seized in the raid. She would not speak with reporters on the scene.

-Regardless of what the outcome is this I think as Delvec001 said, came from TI being on that show Hip Hop Vs.. America. When I heard the above story, that's the first thing I thought of. He didnt speak a lot, but what he did say made a lot of sense. That alleged invesitgation was wayyyyyyyyyy to short. Part of me thinks, that since his bestfriend was killed, they really was on TI. Funny, how when it happened, they weren't no where to be found, but all of a sudden there's a bodyguard turned snitch b/c he was caught w/ a gun or w/e/ Come on. Shit doesnt add up, unless he was put in TI's camp to set him up in the first place. I say your better safe than sorry. Think about, sometimes, its not just the government u need to watch out for, its the people that look like you as well. A while back, it was like what, 2 basketball players who was caught slipping. And when I say slipping, they weren't prepared to protect their families from introdures(im not all here, get me spell check plz)One family, if Im not mistaken was tied up w/ the basketball player. Now wtf is that about? Had he had a gun or whatever things wouldve been a lil different. TI being a 7time felon isnt a good look, but at the same time, TI isnt a dumb man. We should keep him and his family in our prayers, b/c lord knows he needs it. I cant imagine and I hope his kids wasnt in the house when they raided it. They do not need to see this kind of shit, PERIOD!  Feds don't care, theyll stick a gun in a kids face. But enough of that, ill be here all day!

-About Diddy, he knows who to do that shit to. His faggot, not coming out the closest, setting BIG up ass, needs his ass beat really really bad. WOrd to his seeds, (dont be mad @ me for saying word 2 his seeds), its a figure of speech. Anyway, he knows if he gets into something, his bodyguards are going to make sure he doesnt get touched, but to slap a grown man, is not a good look for neither. What really has me mad @ puffy, he says in the song, I get money remix, "shoot outs, yeah ya diddy did it, but my lawyer so good that diddy got aquitted", what the fuck, u bragging about shooting up a club or maybe involved in BIG's murder and u laughing at it. People were hurt in that or those situations and u making fun of it. One day, Im telling you now, one day, PUFFY is going to get it in the worst way. He asking for it, and when u ask GOD delivers. Itll be AIDS/HIV or someone might put him 6ft deep! I do believe he's behind BIG's murder. Too much shit points to the PUFFSTER. Not only that, but last week I read something about a guy who was looked @ as a main suspect in BIG's murder and diddy's link to him. PUFFY says, he didnt want to give him the rest of the money of some dealings they had going as far as BIg's recordings go, b/c he didnt want them to link him b/c of homeboy is a suspect in BIG's murder~ If that doesnt sound soooooooooooo suspect, I dont know what else is! THat's just my opinion! RIP BIG!

Illseed, doing it again, making section 2 for more rumors, lol~

Hello to all AHH members, hope u all had a blessed weekend.  I really dont have much else to say! Im getting more mad every second thinking about PUFFY the GAY ENTERTAINER OF THE DECADE! What people have to understand is that if your Black and succesfull some people are gonna want to take you down.

You have to be smart about tha things you do.
Once you make that money you are no longer in tha hood anymore.
If you live by hood rules you may end up back there.

Mike Vick did something stupid, that's why he got caught not cuzz he's black.
They paid attention to him cuzz he's black, Vick just gave them tha green light.

Same with T.I.
You can own Fully Auto's but the ATF wants to know about it and investigate.
If T.I. feared for his safety they have personal protection companies that rival the secret service.
Madonna got dudes patrolling her property
some rich people hire ex-military

You can't be black (specially in tha south) go into a white owned gun store and ask can you do something illegal.
Yup?...that's stupid!

His bodygaurd was dumb and T.I. shudda know better.

Please Black folks, we have to stop "gettin caught" breaking tha law.
We do it too much and you cant contribute to society if your locked up.

I don't have my own brother around me to this day with me cuzz he got caught up.

It sounds like they have a solid case against T.I.
The Feds don't pussyfoot around, if they got you...they prolly got yo ass.

Prodigy about to do a bid for some dumb shit too.

Yo Lena, I'm -- ay what up everybody? -- but yo Lena, I'm so glad you put puff on blast like that.

I've been saying that dude is an untrustworthy sucka for years and I'm glad somebody else finally checked that dude.

Between Puff and Jay-z they been fuckin all urban music consumers in the ass and then the same consumers turn around and deep throat these dudes.

Talk about Ass 2 Mouth.

That's triflin'.

I just listened to like eight or ten down south tracks to broaden my horizons -- Gawga, I'm a tell you what I feel in a minute -- but even in that stuff, these dudes cared.

Even they had little positive messages laced with their rhymes about ghetto life.

You think once in thier 11-year reign Puff or Jay-Z woulda made a "Self Destruction" or a "We All In The Same Gang"?

Fuuuuccckkkk no.
They got money to make.

"I'm a Hustla, Baby" "I'm an American Gangster"

I 'member when Miss Voletta Wallace was speaking on Biggie's death, she was like, "A lotta people profited after my son died. A lotta people bought new homes and cars after my son died."

Fuck Puff Daddy.
Fuck Jay-Z.

If we say Black leadership and music is dead, then we gotta follow all the way through with that statement.

First we gotta realize how important music is to people of color.

We gotta understand that music -- the drum -- is our life.

Now if our music is fucked up then we gotta say that our current way of living may not be the best.

And if youth drives the market, then HipHop music is a huge component of people of colour's lives.

And if Hip Hop music has taken a turn for the blatant negative, then where are we headed?

Second.
We got to clearly identify exactly HOW and WHEN Hip Hop got fucked up.

And WHO is directly responsible.

There are no two bigger culprits with bloody hands other than the two seans.

Sean #1: Sean - Puff Daddy - Combs

&

Sean #2: Shawn - Jay-Z - Carter

Puff Daddy and Jay-Z are killing us.

Systematically, they popularized the whole "do anything for money" thought process in our music.

Opening the door for anyone who's talking about blatant materialism.

Go back and peep the history.

They hustlas.

And in every hustle there's a victim.
Or a vick.

Who you think the vick is in their hustle?

Will the upsets ever quit? I hope not..

#1 LSU went to #17 Kentucky and both teams played what some view as the best game of the year, thus far. Triple OT, a stop on 4th down, and the 'Cats upend the Tigers 43-37. What a difference a year makes. Last year LSU layeth the smacketh down upon UK to the tune of 69-0. A couple years before that, UK thought it had the game wraped up with 11 seconds to go, prematurely celebrated (tore down the goalposts, gatorade shower for the coach) and Devery Henderson put a dagger in the heart of Lexington catching a TD pass that won the game for LSU. A little revenge? I think so. Kentucky WR Steven Johnson proved that he is the go to guy for Hesiman candidate Andre Woodson in his time of need, catching 7 passes for 134 yards and a TD.

#2 Cal played host to the Beavers of Oregon State, and Bears fans would say were a little too giving. The unranked Beavers took the game 31-28 in a game that should have gone to OT, if it wasn't for the pure stupidity of Cal QB Kevin Riley. Now, I know Riley isn't usually the starter, but he plays D-1 football and his mistake was plain dumb. The Bears were driving, deep in OSU territory. Snap the ball with about 11 seconds left to go. Ok kid, no one's open, just throw the ball away. Even if you take the Intentional Grounding penalty, you're still in FG range, and we're going in to extra time. Wait. What are you doing? Don't scramble. Throw the fucking ball. Are you retarded? SACK?! We don't have any timeouts you dumbass what are you doing? Time runs out as the field goal unit is trying to run on the field. The Bears coach said it was his fault. Kind of. You were getting greedy coach. You should have run up on the ball, spiked it with a few seconds left, and kicked the tying FG, but you wanted that last second TD and it bit you in the ass.

#3 Ohio State was at home against Kent State and got in that ass. 48-3. 'Nuff said. Besides fuck the Buckeyes. They have a cake schedule and should sleep in to the national championship game, where I know they'll get twerked by whoever they play.

#4 BC went to Notre Dame in what some say is a rivalry game. This time the tables were turned from the norm. The Eagles came in and won 27-14. Jimmy Clausen got pulled for Evan Sharpley who proved it doesn't matter who plays QB for the Irish, they just suck. QB Matt Ryan of Boston College put up more solid numbers, going 32-49 for 291, 2 TD and 1 INT.

Matt Grothe is tired of people disrespecting his USF Bulls, and not giving him the respect he deserves as a QB in college football. The #5 Bulls played host to cross state rival UCF, and wasn't playing nice. 64-12 not nice, to be exact. Grothe threw for 212 yards and 2 TDs, and ran for 100 yds and 2 TDs. Did I mention he came out of the game towards the end of the 3rd quarter? He wants his name on the Heisman watch, real bad.

#6 Oklahoma was at home against the #11 Mizzou Tigers this week in one of the better matchups of the weekend. This was a QB Dual between Sooners freshman Sam Bradford and Tigers Junior Chase Daniel. Daniel proved that mistakes kill. Even though he went 37/47 for 361 and a TD, his 2 INTs proved costly. Bradford, on the other hand, went 24/34 for 266 and 2 TDs. Sooners RB Chris Brown got himself 3 visits to the paint in the Sooners W. He was quoted after the game saying "Girl, indeed I can run it, run it."

#7 South Carolina was put on upset alert by some experts this week, playing at North Carolina, fresh of the win over Miami. NC was also remember when Steve Spurrier was coaching at Duke, and ran the score up, as he does, and took a team picture in front of the scoreboard after the game, in Chapel Hill back in the day. The Gamecocks held off a late surge by the Tarheels to win 21-15.

Washington State made the trip to Eugene to take on #9 Oregon this week, but from the looks of it, they forgot to actually show up. 53-7 was the score, and Dennis Dixon proved, once again, that he's a baller.

#10 USC found itself in unfamiliar grounds on Saturday night. In L.A. Coming off a loss. Losing in the 4th quarter. To another unranked opponent. Freshman Joe McKnight broke off a stellar 45 yard run that set up the go ahead TD with 10 minutes left in the 4th. The Trojans added a FG in the last minute, giving them the victory, 20-13 of Arizona.

#12 Va Teach went to Duke and handled business like they were supposed to. Outscoring the Blue Devils 13-7 in the 1st quarter and 30-7 the rest of the way gave the Hokies a 43-14 victory. But hey Duke fans, at least you've won as many games as Notre Dame.

The Washington Huskies went in to the desert, and were feeling pretty good about their 17-13 halftime lead over #14 Arizona State. ASU must have got a hell of a reaming at halftime, because they came out and played like they were ranked. The Sun Devils took the game 44-20, out scoring Washington 31-3 in the 2nd half.

Brian Brohm got his Louisville Cardinals back on track with a 28-24 victory over surpising #15 Cincinnati. Brohm went 28/38 for 350 and 3 TDs in the game. Bearcats QB Ben Mauck had a solid day as well, going 26/45 for 324 yds 3 TDs and a pick. This was 'Nati's first loss of the season.

#16 Hawaii came to the mainland to take on San Jose State on Friday night and needed every one of Colt Brennan's 75 pass attempts to squeak out an OT win 42-35. Colt Brennan was 44/75 for 545 yards and 4 TDs. Nothing surprising about that. Except for he threw 4 INTs to go with it. That means in his last 3 games, Brennan has 8 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions. Not the stats you would expect for a kid who was supposed to throw for over 60 TDs this year. His Heisman hopes are almost non existant and his draft stock is slipping.

Ron Zook had never won 6 games in a row as a head coach. Ever. But he was the favorite leading the Illini into Iowa to take on the near pathetic Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes only put up 10 points. But it was enough to keep that streak of Zook's alive. The fighting Zookers lost 10-6.

Remember a few weeks ago when I said (now) #19 Wisconsin had no business being in the top 10 because they're sorry, for one, and their mascot is a gay ass badger? They got the message. After losing to Illinois last week, they caught a pounding at the hand of JoePa's Nittany Lions 38-7. JoePa was just pissed at that traffic incident he was involved in earlier in the week and had to take it out on somebody.

Lawrence, Kansas is a pretty cool place to be right now, I would imagine. The basketball season is coming up pretty soon and the Jay Hawks carry a preseason ranking of 3. What's surprising in the heartland is the football team, ranked #20 in the country. On Saturday, they beat the Baylor Bears 58-10, which moves Kansas to 6-0 for the first time since '95.

#21 FSU sucks so bad. I called them losing to Wake Forest. For the second year in a row. Note to Bobby Bowden: this is unacceptable. You're making the entire state look bad. FSU should just get it over with. Fire Jeff Bowden, bring in a highly touted offensive coordinater so they can start putting points on the board. Oh. Wait...Demon Deacons pull the "upset" 24-21 over the 'Noles.

If you watched #22 Auburn go to Arkansas, I feel bad for you. The waiting game of "when is Darren McFadden gonna break out? He's gotta score once, right?" is still going on, and it's Sunday night. The Razorbacks looked to have this snoozefest wraped up 7-6, after scoring a TD with 1:36 left in the game. Then, that son of a bitch Auburn kicker Wes Bynum came and did what he does, and hit the game winning FG with 21 seconds left. Tigers win 9-7.

# 23 Texas was in Iowa to the the Cyclones of Iowa State. The Longhorns were pissed. They gave Iowa State their worst loss since 1997. Colt McCoy was 23/30 for 298 yds and 4 TDs in the 56-3 murking.

#24 Georgia almost was upset themselves, by Vanderbilt. A last second 37 yd FG by Brandon Coutu gave the Dawgs the victory, and kept them in the rankings for another week.

#25 Tennessee made the journey to Mississippi State to take on the bull dogs in an SEC matchup. Vols' senior QB Erik Ainge led the charge going 22/36 for 259, 2 TDs and a pick, while RB Arian Foster ran the ball 21 times for 139 yards and a trip to the paint. The real star of the game was Tennessee WR Lucas Taylor who had 11 catches for 186 and a touch. The Bulldogs couldn't match Tennessee and lost 33-21 to the Vols

Unranked Michigan took on another surprise team out of the Big 10 this week in Purdue. Mike Hart rushed for 102 yards and 2 TDs in the first half, and came out in street clothes for the second half after injuring his ankle. He was smiling, and walking around the sidelines, so it doesn't look to be that serious. This marks the 7th straight game in which Hart ran for over 100 yards, which is a school record. "The Chad" had an awesome day, going 21-28 for 264 yards and 2 TDs. Michigan won 48-21.

Oklahoma State sent a message to the Cornhuskers, giving them their worst home loss since 1958. The Cowboys taxed that ass 45-14, and said "We come to Lincolng and put a harder whoopin on these boys than USC. AND WHAT?"

NEW HEISMAN WATCH:

Andre Woodson QB Kentucky
Mike Hart RB Michigan
Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
Colt McCoy QB Texas
Matt Ryan QB Boston College

The first BCS polls came out Sunday and here are the results:

1. Ohio State
2. South Florida
3. Boston College
4. LSU
5. Oklahoma
6. South Carolina
7. Kentucky
8. Arizona State
9. West Virgina

I forgot to put this in the wrap up, so here's my thoughts on something else:

Who does Boise State think they are? You are a college football team and college teams don't play on Sunday night. After the Saints murked the Seahawks, I got to watch a little sportscenter, and what I catch another fucking hour of Scrub U playing The U of whogivesafuck into what seemed like 9 OTs. Fuck a Boise State. Saturday nights is your spot, and damn sure not on national TV. You lost that card when you lost this year, because the only way a non BCS division school should be on national TV is if they are undefeated. Oh, you were the feel good story of last year? That's last year. Move on, because I know I have.

I haven't liked an album since and he's had 4 of them.

I've never had too much of an opinion about Puffy besides his label died off after Biggie and Ma$e.

I give them dudes props for getting that cheese but like you said it would've been nice to see a "self destruction" sort of say.

And Puffy lay hands on people all that time and his bodyguards got his back.
If you man enuff to snuff somebody finish da work and not hide behind that goons.

Puffy came through this club I used to bounce at in Vegas and he roll thick.
It's a gang of cats in his "entourage" male and female.
with all his "meatheads" I can see why someone wouln't want none.
We even let his bodyguards in with tha "roscoes", Puffy said he wouldn't come in without them.

Anyway I like Jay-Z when he stick to tha script, but his last albums have taken a step back to me.

If your interested, here's A timeline of the events that lead up to T.I.'s arrest(I got it of a news website)

TIMELIME OF EVENTS

Documents released by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Saturday detail the 11-day investigation that resulted in the arrest of Atlanta rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris:

—Oct. 2: Harris’ bodyguard asks a licensed gun dealer about buying a machine gun without registering it, as required by law. The dealer reports the incident to ATF agents, who give the dealer the cell phone number of an undercover ATF agent, posing as a machine gun dealer, to pass along to the bodyguard. The bodyguard calls the number within hours.

—Oct. 10: Harris arranges for the bodyguard to pick up $12,000 in cash from his bank on Northside Parkway to buy the weapons. Later, the bodyguard meets with the undercover agent at a K-Mart store, 5997 Buford Highway, Doraville. The bodyguard gives the agent $2,200 and a .223-caliber pistol in exchange for three 9mm machine guns and two 9mm silencers. The bodyguard is then arrested. He tells agents he was buying the guns for Harris. He also says he has purchased about 25 firearms over the past 18 months for Harris and others. ATF agents confirm the purchases.

—Oct. 11: After agreeing to cooperate with the ATF, the bodyguard makes a monitored phone call to Harris. He tells Harris that he has “everything for you.”

—Oct. 12: Harris calls his bodyguard and arranges for him to deliver the firearms the next day.

—Oct. 13, between 12:30 and 1 p.m.: Harris calls the bodyguard and asks him to bring the items to a recording studio. At the direction of ATF agents, the bodyguard suggests that they instead meet at a shopping center parking lot at the corner of Piedmont and North avenues in Atlanta.

—2:22 p.m.: Harris arrives at the parking lot. The bodyguard gets into Harris’ vehicle and shows him the machine guns and silencers. When the bodyguard explains the function of one silencer, Harris says, “No flash, no bang.” Harris also asks about ammunition, the capacity of the magazine and about “change left over” from the $12,000. Authorities then move in and arrest Harris without incident. A search of his vehicle uncovers three firearms, including one tucked between the driver’s seat and the center console.

—2:40 p.m.: ATF agents begin searching Harris’s home at 429 Creekview Lane, College Park. They find three rifles, two pistols and a revolver in a walk-in closet in his bedroom. Five of the firearms are loaded.

—Monday: Harris, held in federal custody over the weekend, is scheduled to make his first appearance in federal court on two felony charges: possession of unregistered machine guns and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

As far as who else is corrupting hip hop goes...I think 50 Cent and Lil Wayne play a part in its corruption...both will do anything for money...50 challenges Kanye and Lil Wayne will hop on anybody's track and say whatever comes to his mind (and yes sometimes it can be garbage)...this door you refer to has opened up many other doors also...rappers/dj's are making records about anything now...I'm not knocking southern rappers or the snap music rappers, but if DJ UNK puts out another dance song, imma snap...these songs also play apart in the corruption, cuz its not real hip hop...at least the stuff that Jay-Z spits is the truth

===================
THE VERSACE WARS

See, it's not about repping an era. And that is an argument that I hear the new dudes using in defense of their ignorance.
"Ah, you stuck in the past."
"But people don't make Hiphop like that no more."
etc, etc, etc,

These are copouts.

And what people are complaining about is not their era. This isn't a "see, when I was coming up" type of deal.

Number one: Up until Puff Daddy, black music was always creative and always contained a positive conscious element.

Even NWA.

Nobody said you gotta be a saint. Go 'head. Call a chick a bitch. But let us know about them punk type police too.

And that's the extreme case.

Number two: Prior to Puff Daddy, Black music (actually all Black entertainment) always showed respect for those that came before.

Just Ice - Going Way Back

Brand Nubian - Dedication

Tupac - Nuntin like the Old School (which I like to retitle "New York Love")

Even in 2003 when Nas made Star Wars, he mentioned that he was "brought up off that Planet Rock, James Todd Smith, Kurtis Blow, Shannon Scott..." , this shows that the better artist has an awareness and creative respect for the musicians that came before them.

This way they can carry the torch and get the blessing from greats that preceeded them.
Imagine Lil Jon or Nelly taking a photo with Rakim and Big Daddy Kane.

Unlikely.

Try to picture Scott Storch or the Neptunes posing with Marley Marl.
Forget it.

Even in the records that I mentioned in an earlier post, I've drawn from the early eighties to the nineties. That's beyond my era. But the dopeness is still there.

The low tolerance for wack beats and sucka emcees is still there from RUN to MF Doom.
All of the greats have respect for the shit that comes before them.

But not these new dudes.

In order for the wack shit that they create to be justified, they have to pretend that the time that they are living in now is the way that is always was.

They must pretend to know only about the shit that's convenient. The garbage that supports their wack shit.

You cannnot directly link any sucka emcee out now with Young or Lil in front of his name to Kool G. Rap or any master lyricist.

Let me break down for you what Puff did and how he did it and what effect it had and has on the new dudes...

Boom it was '94, right? April. Illmatic had just dropped. No need for me to jock that album. We know it's status. Baby Nas on the cover. Whatever, whatever.

So boom in the fall Biggie's album came out and you know the first single was over the hit record Juicy. Which was already a hit.

But hey it was Biggie we ain't care.
Then Biggie's album cover had a picture of a baby biggie. they had bit off nas. bite means to copy someone else's shit, by the way.

Like if we breakin or poppin' and hit you wit some ill footwork then you take my shit across town and try to rep with that shit but ain't know my man julio was in the crowd watching, he gon scream out "you bitin"

then everyone gon start laughin at you cuz guess what?
BITING IS CORNY.

My fault, now when they had bit Nas baby cover concept heads was like oh shit, what the deal with that?

So then we all rockin our tapes and he got the jawn big poppa on there where they bit the Isley Brothers between the sheets song.

We wanted more original bangers like Unbelievable but again, fuck it cuz it was biggie.

but another sinister force was at work here. He goes by the name of sean combs.

So then Boom they remixed the Big Poppa jawn and threw in some Versace for good measure. Now heads is really gettin sick cuz they like what's with the wack Jermain Dupri beat? Why is he rhymin about clothes and girls?

(side note: radio's primary fanbase is females 18-34. that's why all the wack shit shares chick friendly subject matter to gain radio play)

So boom it don't stop ("cuz we won't stop" - Puff Daddy), in 95 with Biggie in the forefront, Puff hit us with the Atom Bomb: One More Chance remix. New beat: El Debarge jawn that some would say Rashad Smith bit from Lord Finesse. Cuz Lord Finesse freaked it first.

But he wasn't talking about Versace, Cartier and gators.

Under Puff, Biggie was.

Although Biggie's rhymes was ill - now doubt he could rip no matter the subject - the content of rhyming had changed.

Cuz face it, who don't like pussy, cars and money?

I know I do.

But not in my music. Especially when it's forced.

And the subsequent rappers felt like to get pussy they had to rap about cars, jewelry and such.

So more songs were released in late 95 to early 96 with materialism as the subject matter. While your beat had to have already have been a hit or something that someone else had rocked on and was a hit.

Acceptance of this for beats, broke down the tolerance for dope shit on the beat side.

But wait.

So here we are in the summer of '96 and the door is open for anybody to come through who talking about being a player, having versace, cristal, or diamonds.
and guess who steps through the door?

You got it.

Sean number two.
Jay-Z (or Shawn to be accurate)

He had versace.

A beeper. Cell phones. Drug rhymes and a beat that somebody had already rocked over:

Ain't no Nigga is an EPMD hit.

Now it's late 96 and shit really is on fire.

So in 97 every month puff daddy had a "remix" featuring himself on the radio.
And mase came out. Oh wait I fucked that up. ma$e came out.
shit is mad fucked up by now and the RZA tried to fight back but the wheels were set in motion.

dudes where rhyming over songs that were already hits. talking nonsense about high fashion and cristal.

so now the tolerance was lowered.

DMX came out with "Where my dogs at?" Rhyming directly over Epmd's "Get the Bozack".

Puff Daddy and Ma$e rhymed over The message by Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel
- I'd like to take this time to point out that The Message like all Black Music prior to Puff was about hope and awareness in the 'hood.

you think that's what Puff and the new dudes talked about?

Un-unh.

Get money. Playa hatin'.

Now dudes are seeing this deterioration of hiphop standards so they are like boom we can jump in right now and just keep the subject about ice and shit and won't nobody notice we ain't got no skills.

also another thing happened: You know how if you buy a toy keyboard or something and it has music built into it when you open it out of the box? this dude swizz beats "produced" a song outta of one of those.

Everybody saw it and beatmakers was like we can get away with that?

so up springs a very talented POP (keyword: POP) producer named timbaland with a song for the late Alliyah (damn I forgot her first single)

The sound was unique
it was on the radio
he was young.
so it's hiphop right?
fuck no.

but dudes saw that and started to make their beats like him.

Jay-z connected with him.

Player-type crime rap connected with bubblegum beats equal a million records sold.

shit is ALL fucked up by now.

but wait, master p. comes out with silk the shocker.
master P. drops Ghetto D. (make crack like this)
biting (and disrespecting) eric b. and rakim's classic while rapping as simplistic as possible.

Capitalizing off the ignorance of their people, the "no limit" squad did that record, "UNNNHH" some other bullshit, dropped an album by a gimmicky bi-polar no rhyme skills cat named "mystikal" and cleaned up.

Cashing in on half a billion.

Now Juvenile saw it was easy so he makes one of the most embarassing songs I've ever heard from my people called "Ha"

Straight dumb shit.
Silly ass beat.
Horrendous "rhymes" if you even wanna call it that.

So boom now here come the neptunes.
Cuz the game is wide open and any wack shit will fly.
they make a few songs using the exact same drum pattern and clean up.

the rest is probably current enough for when you started to listen to hiphop.

This is "standards reversal". Sorta like in the Willie Lynch story how they say they reversed the roles of the sexes and made black men lazy -- living with moms, or girlfriends, or girlfriend's moms, no career havin' or wantin' --and made the women the breadwinners.

This is the concept behind the reversing the standards for Black music
it's systematic.

See manufactures need empty-headed, easily programmable consumers.

So that when they say buy or "Press Play" you do.
Therefore they have to constantly dumb you down and feed you your opinions so that when they tell you something is "hot" you jump and fork over your dough.

But you needn't be that easy. We're men not sheep.

all of our people prior to the two seans would make music that was creative and provide some sort of social commentary while having a thorough knowledge and influence of those that came before.

but not these new dudes.
So what I rep is product.
Not an era.

what if there was a fire in his home and and the fire department discovered that?????

or what if the FEDS made up a reason to search his house and they found that safe full of weapons??????

he would have been f&cked like he is now!!!!!!!!

as far as the bodyguard......i question where TI found this knucklehead snitch..... a bodyguard is supposed to protect the client!!!!!!!

bottom line is this.....TI seems to be a bright individual and i would think his street knowledge and experience would have led him to make better decisions......if ur smart enough to have a safe like that to keep ur guns in.....than u should be smart enough not to have that damn many weapons on ur premesis.......

when the FEDS are building a case like that it means they intend on making u serve some time......and for us and rappers that means long sentences!!!!!

u ain't never lied. that's what we be tryna to let the youngstas know, but they do not seem to get it. they are giving them strikes under the age of 18 regularly. i know a few that have strikes right now, only like 16. girls too!

@BP 1
ay, that is not the 1st time i've heard u drop that bomb re: "Seans." i'm sure i have co-signed u on this b4, many times. so i guess i don't need to do it again. but i will anyway: CO-SIGN. that has been my point. they are the biggest sell-outs of all to me. cause they sold out the community, exploit the community. i just made this point on Saturday to the group we run. they (Sean 1 & 2) got these youngstas thinking they have to aspire to their standards (esp. related to the materialism). they got broke people thinking that they NEED to spend their money on Sean John and RocaWear clothing to be acceptable. the reality is that most people raising children can not afford these expensive clothes. the kids think they fly, when they're actually just being used to adverstise for them. and actually got their mommas spending hella money to become a walking advertisement.

now that is just related to the community and one form of detriment. i couldn't agree more that they have sent the message to the masses that anything u gotta do to make money is justifiable. just like Lil Kim and Foxy Brown have set the standard in the community to find justification in being a hoe: Get Money. WTF?

i know i've been accused of being an East Coast rapper hater, but that is not the case in reality...that's just why i can't stand Jay-Z & Puffy.

BP 1, u said u had something u wanted to add something to my "essay" yesterday, but u must've 4got. whatitbelike?

@518p
i feel u. i like T.I. but it took me hella long. i never heard him say that either cause there aren't really any new rappers out whose cd i listen to in entirity. i think the Game was the last one, but i only listened to the whole thing like once. i stick to my old school for listening to the whole thing. these days, it's songs for me, not albums. cause i'm not impressed all like that.

who knows maybe he did go to court on seven different occasions with felony charges. but i doubt it, it was probably multiple felony counts on a few different cases. shit i would hope so...

@ AHH Fam
does anyone know the answer to that?

@DA 1
hey girlie! that's messed up about ur friends. the whole concept of snitching is definitely distorted and taken out of context, especially by youngstas. but there appears to be multiple meanings depending on whether ur into dirt or not.

i know a gang of people that consider regular, non-criminalist folks snitches for talking to the police for any reason. then there are those who think that only those involved in the game can be a snitch. i guess both realities can prove to be true with fatal consequences depending on whose judging and what they believe...

?????????????????????????????????????

You can't get no righter than that BossUp

Jay rarely if never talks about anything else but Money, hustling and being the king of something Governer Pataki owns.

He brags about never writing a song down?
Maybe you should Jay?
Then all your songs wont sound tha same.
It's easy to freestyle and memorize a whole album if you are stuck in the same mindframe.
Get out tha box a little Hova?
Fuck...write about Hova?, GOD, Life sumin.

But maybe Im wrong, he prolly don't want to be that kind of rapper. He maybe just want to appeal to tha shorties with his club hits.
If so dont call your self a hiphop head.
Cuzz hiphop is well balanced on a plethora of issues.

Nas doesnt sell half of what Jay does, but Nas got respect amongst his constituents.
His albums are laced with different topics that has the respect of being written out and thought over on paper.

I can freestyle a simple Jigga verse lol

Well he has changed and go to church and got a decent job.
But he always brag about when he used to rob people
and when shit go wrong in his life he quick to say "Ima rob somebody"
Or some stupid shit.

That aint that way to do it.
He goes out there and get caught up, now his family is ruined?
Naw...have some faith in your shit and hustle legally.

There's been plenty of times I wanted to vic some body but guess what?
I cant live in my house from jail

The record label owners find that more profitable.

Some say Kanye speaks the truth coz he did songs like Diamond of Sierre Leone yea dats true but why are other ppl in the mainstream only just really giving ppl like Common props since his last two albums and hooking up wit 'Ye its as if its because of the whole connection to the roc-a-fella crew and wat most idiots see as cool I kno most ppl here listen to everyone but I think now some of these rappers hv got their money they can afford to say more than just the usual 'yay i got dough' l'ook at my big chain'...'and the overpriced shoes I got'. Everytime there is an awards show celebrities always act the fool. How a nigga gona let Diddy slap him?? That has to be a rumor cuz thats some bullshit. Man the Hip Hop police is serious, the only way they could have found out about TI guns is a snitch in his crew or spies. Either way is some old bullshit , I hope TI gets out of this one. Bizzy waz bound to come back he anit shit without the rest of the Bone thugs. The only one in the group that could have made it by himself is Krazie bone.
