STOP THE VIOLENCE!

Scott La Rock was killed 20 years ago. Here is the rumor, then the information. Everybody (including myself) thought that KRS-One did the song “Stop The Violence” after the death of Scott La Rock in 1987. WRONG. That was actually one of a few songs that would eventually make it to Boogie Down Productions second album, By All Means Necessary. So, even before he was killed Scott and Krs had a plan.

Here is the info.

KRS-One has officially re-started the “Stop the Violence” Movement. It’s not a rumor. Its real and Hip-Hop is coming together to get it started and keep it going. Those involved include Ludacris, Fat Joe, Pastor Troy, Cassidy, Busta Rhymes, Whodini, Lil Wayne, AllHipHop, Dougie Fresh and many more!

Click here to listen to the first “STOP THE VIOLENCE” public service announcement Part 1. (Krs-One, Fat Joe, Ludacris, Doug E. Fresh, Jalil of Whodini, Pastor Troy, Hakim of Channel Live and more!)

PART TWO - Click here for Busta Rhymes, Cassidy, Rick Ross, sharing testimonials about violence. Deep!

WHERE’S CAM’RON? PART 4,077

This clip is hilarious like Hill Harper. Ok, Hill isn’t hilarious, but you get what I mean. There has been a Cam’ron sighting that seems to fall in the category of “Marketing 303: How to sustain a buzz.” Click here to see this so-called sighting of the Monster. Cam is like the 07 Loch Ness Monster. Word to Nessie. Anyway, he’s supposedly calling his next CD Public Enemy, not Killa Season 2. (mad disrespect to the real Public Enemy.) Anyway, look for this at the top of the year and a mixtape sooner.

Q-TIP GETS BIZZY

Check out what a reader told me happened last night. This isn’t me, this I just somebody telling me what’s going on.

I was at the Q-Tip show last night at the Blender Theater in Manhattan. Because Phife was obviously not there due to his health, Tip was looking for someone to come on stage and rap Phife's part of Check the Rhyme. He didn't want anyone to just get up there are not know the words. The legendary DJ Scratch, got on the mic and said, "We need someone who knows the words, not someone like Lupe!" The crowd just lost it. Hysterical.

Wanna hear some REAL MC’s SPIT IT? Check out Common, Skillz and Q-Tip spit it. Gotdamnit, Hip-Hop is RIGHT HERE!!!!!! WE’RE NOT LEAVING!

WOLFBOY'S GAG ORDER?

I don’t know how true this is, but I heard that Lupe Fiasco has been put on a serious gag order from the office of Atlantic Records. Apparently that Fiascogate was doing some wear and tear on the image? I don’t know, they say all press is good press so the fact that I’m talking about him now is good. Therefore, I will now only refer to Lupe as Wolfboy. If you aren’t a regular reader, you won’t know who the hell Wolfboy is. I also will no longer refer to Wolfboy as Lupus, because that is a serious ailment. J. Dilla had it and they say Michael Jackson has it now.

***Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can be fatal, though with recent medical advances this is becoming increasingly rare. With Lupus, the immune system attacks the body’s cells and tissue, resulting in inflammation and tissue damage.

FOXY STOPPING HER OWN LAWYER?

People are saying that Foxy got some guy to run up and threaten the wife of her own lawyer. Hmmmmmm…I have to ask why she would do that? Anyway, the news reports never said that Foxy did it, but I guess people think that rappers are so wild they doing stuff that makes no sense?

SHOULD JAY-Z PUSH HIS CD BACK FOR CASSIDY?

My homey sent me this about Cassidy. Now, why would Cass say such things about Jay? I know Cassidy is dope, but I don’t think it’s a good deal to drop the same day. I think some people might have gotten it confused with the whole Kanye / 50 Cent thing. I don’t see Jay-Z pushing his CD back for Cassidy. I do urge you all to go buy both, because that’s Hip-Hop!

T.I. TO GET HOUSE ARREST?

People are saying that T.I. might get house arrest if he pleads guilty. People are so anxious for Tip to get out of jail that they are just pulling what they want out of other reports. I heard a different variation saying that he might get house arrest until his trial, which I believe started with gossip maven Sandra Rose. That’s more believable. The government just doesn’t release felons that they think have mad machine guns and silencers.

MORE T.I.P. RUMORS!

Remember how I told you Aunt Vivica Fox lost her $2 million deal with Cadillac? Well, GM makes the Caddy and the Chevy, the people that T.I. has his endorsement through. Well, if Aunt Viv’s drunk driving was cause for dismissal, it’s looking very bad for T.I. Rumor has it, the fine car makers at GM are close to severing ties, but want to see what happens before doing so. Styles P said, “There are consequence and repercussions to everything.” Be safe.

DIDDY: TEFLON DON, DUN.

Just when you thought the Hip-Hop police were going to come down and smack up Diddy: NOT! Diddy was accused to punching Dame Dash’s boy Stevie. They said after that, Diddy duffed him out more but had the bodyguards there just in case. Well, everybody assumed that Diddy was about to go to get slapped for a assault. The two guys were apparently hanging out and chopping it up like nothing ever happened. The papers and police are speculating that there was an exchange of money. I say, we get over stuff faster than y’all do. ;)

AFTER JAY-Z COMES BLEEK!

It must be a sweet deal being Jay-Z’s right hand homey. It’s like having nine music industry lives! Anyway, the word on the block is that Memphis Bleek is back and he’s about to go super hard with this Roc-A-Fella stuff. I always thought Bleek was dope, but just had the pressure of being the next Jay-Z. Anyway, I don’t know when, but I would assume next year, but the marketing and promotion starts NOW.

G-UNIT AND LIL’ KIM DEAD THEIR BEEF? KRS-ONE ON G-UNIT?

I heard a good one. I heard that Lil’ Kim and G-Unit have completely ended their beef. You remember what happened? After 50 and Kim did “Magic Stick” (which was originally for Trina), they had a falling out. I think it was 50 refused to do a video for it. Anyway, 50 would go on to say stuff like, “I'm convinced man something really wrong with these hoes, I thought Lil' Kim was hot then she start f****ing with her nose.” Anyway, all that is in the past. I heard that Lil’ Kim will be featured on the next G-Unit compilation CD Shoot To Kill, to drop this December. The song is called “Wanna Lick.” I wonder what that’s about?

I also heard that 50 will not be on the whole CD to enable the other acts their proper shot to shine. I heard that all of G-Unit will be on there, but M.O.P. is shaky. Trick Daddy might also be on there, as well as LL Cool J. I don’t know much else, but I’d be interested in seeing what Lil’ Kim has to offer. I know the title is misleading so, No, I didn’t hear that KRS is on G-Unit. I DID hear that KRS might appear on this album.

I heard this video got the ball rolling with G-Unit and KRS. I don’t know, I can’t call it.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

A scientist has determined that Black people aren’t as smart as White people. Hmmmmm…I smell a racist with a degree. Here are excerpts from the article on the man that believes such foolishness. Meanwhile this dude is only a few years older than Minister Louis Farrakhan but looks like he’s been in a liplock with death. SMH. (Hoodgrown, good lookz!)

One of the world’s most respected scientists is embroiled in an extraordinary row after claiming that black people are less intelligent than white people.

James Watson, a Nobel Prize winner for his part in discovering the structure of DNA, has provoked outrage with his comments, made ahead of his arrival in Britain today.

He said he hoped that everyone was equal, but countered that “people who have to deal with black employees find this not true.”

The scientific community has already shot down the notion. I maintain that the Chinese are smarter than us all. (I’m kidding)

“I am sure the scientific community will roundly reject what appear to be Dr Watson’s personal prejudices. These comments serve as a reminder of the attitudes which can still exist at the highest professional levels.”

READ THIS FOOLISHNESS.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Check out this “Beyond Reasonable Doubt” song from Kanye West  "A Million." Click here to hear it.

Check it out – I have been informed that there will be a national Black Out on shopping on November 2nd. This is in protest of the continued persecution of the Jena 6.

The Hip-Hop police follows rappers? The Village Voice examines! How did this get past me?

On that same note, Kevin Hackie, a former security guard for Death Row, has admitted to being an undercover for the FBI from 1992 – 1996, all while he was working for THE ROW. SMH! People have to smarten up and even then…wait…you aren’t as smart as While people so forget about it.

By the way, before you call somebody a fake journalist, you have to be able to write a sentence legibly. People crack me up thinking they are technologists in the wireless world and don’t even know Basic English.

I heard Rakim is just about finished The Seventh Seal, his anticipated comeback CD.

Man, they’re saying that Eddie Murphy still won’t see his child by Mel B. I think its time for that other fellow to step in and be the Daddy if this rumor is true. Where is Ed OG when you need him!?

I apologize to Boss Up in advance. On Wendy Williams, they said that Chris Brown and Superhead are still doing things together. She allegedly bagged him by forcing her face in the netherworld and he’s been hooked ever since. SMH (if this is true.)

LIL' WAYNE DISSES 50 CENT?

When I first listened to this song "Gossip," I was like, "I like this song 'Gossip.'" Then a homey hit me up and said, "Yo, ill...he really got 50 Cent good on 'Gossip.'" I then listened to it about 300 times (its just that good) and decided that it could be a song dissing 50 - but in a tasteful way. Shout out to Wayne. Check out the video.

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

@ anyone who feels otherwise...

Lil Wayne ripped it on that song.  If anyone has been listening to Cash Money when they put Wayne and B.G. out as a group, they will understand what Wayne is talking about.  People really don't know how long Wayne been in the game.  Yeah everyone has their ups and downs but he has been the most CONSISTENT.  Yeah...he is hopping on too many songs right now, a verse here a verse there will over saturate someone, but, when it comes time for his release date, the shit will be hot.

To all you hatas that's probably gonna think I am on Wayne's d***, I ain't.  I am just giving real talk.  If you think I ain't, do the research.  Listen to Wayne on 50 Shots (Hot Boys first album to those that ain't know), listen to him on B.G. True Story, he has came consistent even when the lil nucca ain't cuss.  He did do some weird ish when he kissed Baby I will admit, but he has come consistent with his shit.

Anyone disagree?

This is my last Wayne comment for the day unless somebody chooses to holla at me...

Pick any of the younger artist (Hurricane Chris, Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, etc) and pick a verse they spit up against a 1995-1999 Wayne verse and tell me which one is better.  If Wayne was ill 8-12 years ago and still got hot shit today, how can people say that he ain't good at what he do.  The only other rapper dropping/selling albums from that era today is JAY-Z.

Am I lyin??

So how can people honestly say he is wrong for saying that he can compare himself to Jay-Z.

Again...I am too old to be hopping on a rapper's d***.  I am just stating facts...That's what makes 'Gossip' true.

T.I. is FINISHED. Picture T.I. pleadin guilty and they give him house arrest for his plea. How long will the house arrest be for...life? He's a convicted felon tryna buy a fukkin arsenal, and oh he's a multi-millionaire african-american. They gone hit his ass wit the book and then some.

We didnt even exist till slavery times, around 1500 or so and then we didn't even appreciate the good life the slave masters gave us working for them.

If it werent for them we'd be stuck "spear chucking" impala's or monkeys.

Oh by the way we are soo dumb also, that we fucked monkeys and gave Aids to the world.

We have never contributed anything to society, the Pyramids of Giza?, we didn't build them some aliens did.

Most of the modern Patents that we hold with the U.S. dept of Patents are just because the white people that invented them didn't want their business in the streets so they had us co-sign.

We are so dumb that the Tuskegee Airmen in world war 2 didn't shoot down every German that crossed their path when other pilots couldn't.

That heart transplant shit?...we arent' smart enuff for that either, our fingers are too big we'd fuck up the left ventricle.

You wanna know how really dumb and stupid we are?...
When hurricane Katrina hit we didnt' even get in our Mercedes and BMW's and drive out of the city.

We decided to stay and watch cuzz we thought the waves looked "neato" and somebody had said that after the waves recessed that there would be a ton of Crawdads and Jumbo Prawn skrimps that we could round up and sell on tha comeup.

Black folks have to be tha dumbest people I ever met, I'm glad I ain't black.
I got that disease Michael Jackson had but mine worked in reverse.
When I was born I was white but it turned me black like Terrell Owens.
Good side effect though...it gave me a big dick! lol

I was wrong about the albums. his first 2 were pretty damn nice. carter 1 was good too, but carter 2(no mannie fresh) really had no direction. his song structure is bad. he is the perfect example of a battle rapper(nice lyrics, bad song writing) honestly, wayne is at his best when he just gets a beat and rap str8 with no hook.  but its funny because he dodging 50 cent like a game of dodgeball. he is supposed to be the best rapper alive right??? well live up to it. don't say you are the best at something and get pussy when its time to prove it. the fact is wayne has never battled anyone?? 50 cent isn't even a lyrical dude so it should be easy right?? I think wayne plays it safe because he knows he is an easy target in a battle. kissing men in the mouth, paying niggas to fight for him in school, niggas taking his car and he just standing there, getting punked at wal-greens, gettin his ass whipped at the palace movie theater. its sad when u dont get respect from ur own hood. yea all my new orleans people know about that shit. i dont care how big u become u cant escape ur past even if u pretend it never happened. and thats some of the reasons that wayne won't battle anyone, studio gangsters can't speak the truth.

No disrespect to Tribe, they definetly left there mark, but so did hammer. Yea, Hammer may have been the Nelly of his era but he sold a bunch of fucking records, so why ya'll surprised if someone listened to him more than tribe Tribe.

Now Cam is disrespecting Public Enemy cause he wants to name his album that??? Kind of makes sense to name it that since right now he's pretty one everybody's enemy. Kinda lame to feel like it's disprespect.

Cass don't want it with Jay. Cam is an ill rapper, but c'mon. You don't want to get into a record selling contest with Big Homey. Not at this point in his career.

We are respectfully going to have to disagree about this subject........

In no way should the gay rights movement be compared to THE CIVIL RIGHTS STRUGGLE!!!!!!

Yes...in terms of the discrimination against another human being the 2 monements share something in common......however, despite what some may argue.....being gay is a preference, a choice!!!!

Being African American is NOT!!!!!!! We were bought to the widerness of North America against our will and enslaved because another race of people felt that because of our SKIN COLOR we were inferior human beings!!!!!!!

When i wake up in the morning i can't say....hey i think i'm going to be a white male today......i'm a black man every day of my life and therefore my journey is a lot different than most!!!!!

Those who choose to live a gay lifestyle have choices....they can hang out with others like themselves in places that they decided to make exclusive to their lifestyle u see!!!!!

if they want to they can hide the fact that they are gay....i can't.....i can't change my skin color (not that i would want to be any other race or color) but that's a fact......Ya Dig!!!!!!!

Holla!!!!!!!

Vitamin B17 is good for you, but remember too much of anything will cause problems.  They should NOT be swallowed whole.  One or two vitamin B17 tablets ( 100 mg ) is an acceptable supplemental dosage per day.  Also, if you eat three apples a day, seeds and all, the seeds in the three apples are sufficient vitamin B17, that's about 90 apples per month.  The apricot seeds should be taken throughout the day ( not all at once ), with at least one hour in between each serving.  A good rule-of-thumb: "Don't eat more seeds at one time than you likely would consume if you were eating the whole fruit."

Not that I completly agree with BossUp but he has "some" points.

HipHop is a braggadocios culture and that's not to say Gay's cant take part in it.

But as Black men we were always told to stand strong as a black man. (even tho not all do it).
But most brothas are sensitive to Homosexuality for the most part.

With us it is important to be a strong black man and most black men see it as inferior to be Gay.

Something is wierd about seeing a guy that acts like a woman or likes other men.

That's why it's hard for men to accept Gay men over Gay women.

I defend gay people all the time so dont think I'm hating.
I just feel uncomfortable when men act like women.
Not all gay men do of course.

But when you are in a field when you have to be tough and stong, the first thing comes to mind is...
But your gay?

I just don't see a gay dude in that light
They have the right to not be discriminated against like everyone else, and we shouldn't do it.
But it doesn't mean that I have to kick it with you either.

The moment you bring up some gay shit, ima throw up and be out!

How I look like saying "A-Yo look at tha fatty on shortie right there"
And a gay dude be like
"naw, I'm feeling duke in them timbs son!" uurrrgh! nasty yo!

They come in the league w/ raw talent, all kinds of potential and work their way to greatness. Some make it, a lot don't. But coming into the game they aren't polished or even in their prime, it takes time. Wayne ISN'T the greatest, or close to it, but he's improved since his early days. You can hate the man all you want, I've never bought his cds, but the dude is buzzing right now in everyone elses eyes. Plus I rather hear him w/ a "jay" flow then a "wobbledee wobble" rap.

so the topic in my youngsta group last night was african-american history. but in reality i started with the ancient african civilizations and the actual origin of civlization being in Ethiopia. it was good.

but i also felt like cause it was so focused on ancient civilization that they weren't all that interested. at least not as interested as they are in the era from civil rights forward.

but my point behind my plans is to dispel myths and give them info that they weren't previously aware of. one thing we wound up talking about is that THERE IS NO DNA DETERMINANT OF RACE.

neway, i'm saying all this because it makes absolutely no sense that homeboy who was affliated w/ DNA (i pretty much bypassed that part of the rumors) would make such a statement. because he should and, i'm sure he does, know better than anyone that: THERE IS NO GENE THAT INDICATES RACE. so how can he even being to put forth such a weak argument?

i c ur very adept in ur use of sarcasm. that was funny.

@fizzroy
co-sign much of ur statement on religion and homosexuality. i agree w/what u said about organized religion 100%. i feel the same way.

at the same time, i don't necessarily look at homosexuality as a defect, like being blind. i believe for most folks it is not a choice that they are making, rather they are born that way. like u said. i just don't believe that there is something wrong with them because of their form of sexuality. shoot it doesn't effect me personally, u know?

it's nice to see some men can think outside the box when it comes to this topic...

*sigh* Am I the only one who gets it?  All this hate on Wayne is a territorial thing.  The south will always be underrated in the rap game, and always will be, even though we been running it for SO long.  Yeah check the record books, all of you who just thought we busted on the scene in 94 or 95 you're wrong.  Geto Boys, and Outkast with southerplayalisticadillacfunkymuzic.  And everybody on the east coast got their heads so stuck on the fact that rap originated there, that they truly believe they are the best although records show who's running the charts.  Dont get me wrong, I love HIP-HOP period, but the fact that Wayne is from the south makes it harder for him, but what's funny is that he doesnt discriminate, he works with game, kanye and swizzy, so why so biased against him?  You people need to understand that 50 is a business man, and as a business man, what's his goal in the music business? To keep his buzz going forever, his album did NO WHERE NEAR expectations, but I thought it was a good album, I liked the Massacre also, but what's he gonna do now that the whole "Outsale Kanye Gimmick" is over? Rap about vitamin water?  NO, he's gonna go after who's the biggest name in the game right now, AND have his squad do the same thing.  And it so happens to be Wayne, and I BET MY LIFE, that if 50 wasnt going after Wayne, then all these fans wouldnt even be thinking bad shit about Wayne, but you cant diss good music, cuz these same people who are following 50, are the same ones who be diggin Wayne's style behind closed doors.  He brought a dying company back to the surface single handedly, the only one standing, and look at what he's accomplished, you cant hate on that man, and if you do, it's J-E-A-L-O-U-S-Y.  I'm sure someone is gonna respond saying "aww you on wayne's dick" blah blah, the facts make people mad, and if you read this and think it makes no sense, you obviously need to have your brain wiped.

ANYWAY--One question...WTF is going on with chamillionaire? One nomination!? and I think that's the one he should've taken home, with all that's going on you think he'd be glorified for his stance against the Hip Hop Police..That's sad, anybody wanna start a petition for Rock N Roll Police? Girls being doped up and raped at shows and on tour buses?..But that's another issue.

And WHY is Big Boi doing a solo album? v_v it makes me sad, as much as 'Dre has been rapping lately, the dynamic duo needs to take it back to the old days and just drop one more album with them both rapping, because honestly, Outkast has been killing all of these remixes, not just Wayne...think I'm lying? WHO had the best verse on the "Get It Shawty Remix?" BIG BOI and you're full of shit if you think they didnt MURDER the "Walk It Out Remix" and Big Boi SHITTED on the "I'm So Hood Remix"

And honestly...I like Lupe, but this whole fuss ISNT about him, it's about his comments, on a SOLID foundation in the world of Hip Hop.  Comparing Hammer to Tribe Called Quest? C'mon now, some of you need to stop seeing what you wanna see and begin to pay attention to what's going on.  Jumping on illseed's back because of his opinion wont change the fact that those comments were stupid none the less, but Illy I gotta admit, his album was Ill...and he is a fire lyricist robots and all lol.

Hmm, shouts out to Illseed, and the illcommunity, even the haters dwelling in it...I'm not calling names, but as the saying goes.."the guilty dog barks first"..so tell on yourself when you respond to this...--Big Jake®

This Lupe shit... come on man..this man can't speak his mind?  WTF.  People acting like ATC are still making classic music. Pay homeage and keep stepping, but it's still his opinion.

This homo rapper shit...I have nothing against homo's and that's because 2 of my friends that i knew since elementary cam e out the closet, and you wouldnt even know them niggas homo.  So now I feel like anybody could be homo, you just don't know.  I'm sure it's a few niggas reading and writing these posts are homos.  To each their own.

@Jrzeema...The only absolute fact I can say about gays is that they are human beings, so they deserve human rights. It has become a culture moreso than a condition in this day and age. That's where I think the problem of hate has come from. Some straight folks are claiming they're gay because they chose to expirament and just enjoy being freaky. Gays don't bother or effect me, so I say let em' be. Doesn't mean I like seeing their culture in all its splender though. Men wearing tight ass shit, peforming public displays of affection, and trying to sound like women is still not cool with me, but again, it doesn't effect me. Just grosses me out, lol. Let em' listen to and buy hip-hop.....they're humans and enjoy a lot of the simple pleasures that human beings enjoy.

@BFG, I hear you, Black (African) history, it doesn't exist in our schools I had to look up the History myself growing up.

Most people don't know that Africa the name itself was giving by Europeans

"Afri" Afri's were a group of people that live around Carthage (Hannibal), the Romans added the suffix "CA" to the name it means "land or country"
So there you have Afri-ca.
and that was only around 200-100 or so B.C.

the kids i work with can range from 13-21 really, in the context of that group. it's our Leadership Group. and yes i be smashin on them cause they can be irritating at times. and i hear what u saying about when u were a teen, cause i was the same way. couldn't no adult tell me shit. and that's why i was hesitant about working there, cause i always thought i didn't want to work with adolescents, for that reason.

but it's like the best thing i could have ever done in reality, for them and myself. me, it's like i'm facing my past. looking at my evolution process. and they feelin' me cause they can tell that i done lived their lives already. they can identify w/me.

the kids in Leaders (majority) came to our agency madated by the juvenile justice system and made strides in our family program. then they voluntarily chose to come and be apart of Leadership. they are tryna better themselves but they are still struggling with the issues in our community and the type of lives they want to live, long-term. but they are really the shit to me. i love them and am very proud of them, guess that's the momma in me. ;)

oh and to answer ur question, i do think that only a small percentage of gay people have made that a choice in their lives. and i do believe that crimes against gay people based on their sexual orientation is a hate crime and should be treated as such. how can one justify the attack of a person based on something that they do behind closed doors, that has absolutely no impact on anyone else? imo there is no justification for that period. i say live and let live.

But BFG!?

I have to disagree with you on Gays being born Gay.

It is a choice (it may not be a conscience choice) in my opinion and this is why I say so.

First off the design is for man to inpregnant a woman in order for life to move forward.
A woman cant a woman and a man cant a man.
So obviously it was made to go that way so GOD wouldn't make you any different.
That doesn't mean I believe Gays are going to hell (Seventh Seal)!

In the womb sex isn't even determind till the 3rd month, the dick comes from the clit, not the clit from the dick.

Second, you arent born Gay or straight!

We are heterosexual because of our traits and upbringing.
It's in the DNA to want to mate.
boys and girls are shown at a young age, mommy and daddy and prince and princess.
our minds are formed at an early age to this principle

For instance most boys don't like girls when they're very young "ill girls are gross"
And same for girls.

You know to be with one becuzz it's what you see and everyone says it's the way to be.

Kind of like in American Beauty is described as being skinny with long hair and european features.
It's everywhere so even latins, Asians and Blacks prescribe to that notion.
Sista wearing weaves' ain't african!
Latins' with Blonde straight hair ain't latina.

For instance...
to better explain what I mean

If you took a baby boy and put him on an island with Gay men and no women.
That child will grow up to like or favor men.
It is our surroundings.

does it mean that it's a cognitive choice?
maybe not, I'm sure some gay people will say Ididn't choose this, but maybe somewhere growing up something may have caused a change in thinking.

I knew a kid growing up that was always with the girls, when us boys wanted to go destroy some shit he was like "naw" and would rather double dutch with the girls...
He is prolly gay to this day.

So in final, I don't think it's a from birth, same as I wasn't born to wanna marry a woman, It is just part of our culture and we follow suit.

GOD loves all children Gay, Color, and even Dallas Cowboy Fans don't matter to him.

7th Seal!
I don't think GOD is going to smite the earth, we are already doing enuff damage to ourselves.
GOD is all forgiving till death, that is why he doesn't kill people.
"life is hard enough with out our wrong decisions making it worse".

It's when you have people saying that Lil' Wayne is the King of Rap that he goes under a miscroscope and people start questioning his every quality. It's not that he's from the south, it's that he had the balls to say "Best Rapper Alive". He knew what he was doing and high criticism comes with that claim. You have people that still talk down on Nas and Jay-Z because they claim the same thing. 50 went after Wayne because he's an easy target and has been shoutin' that he's the best. 50 thinks he's the best so of course he went after Wayne. What you said is true pertaining to Lil Wayne but as far as the South being obsessed with haters that's not the case..We've been hearing negative shit from people up north for years..It's just a helluva lot more to talk about when the majority of the rappers you see on tv happen to be from the south right now. It's no different than when the West had to put up with the bullshit..It's not all niggaz from up there but you have to look at how most people up there view the south outside of rap..Niggaz ain't humble when they move down here..They come with all the cocky and arrogant bullshit..But overall New Yorkers are that way to everybody including niggaz from different parts of the their own city and state..We didn't like all New York music when they had the torch but we didn't go around speaking negative on the niggaz we didn't like..We just bypassed it..That's not the way most east coast headz are..The crab in a bucket syndrome is bad up there and it shows with the competitive nature of the people..Competition is good but when it turns into hate because you aren't getting the recognition u feel as though you deserve is where it goes all wrong..Listen to the shit Havoc saying and why he said it..That shit was pure hate for no reason at all except for the fact that his cd sold triple aluminum foil..

I don't disagree with you at all...you brought up very valid points.  All the stuff that happened to Wayne in the N.O.  okay it happened...that don't mean nothing to me cause I ain't from there.  I agree with you on the Carter 2 having no direction without Fresh...But what I am saying is, he is still dropping albums that have hot songs (not all of them are hot, but they are better than some of the trash that is out now).  People need to realize that Lil Wayne ain't new to the game...He probably knows what's smart to respond to and what isn't.  He knows 50 salt cause his album wasn't as hot as he thought it would be.  He knows his limits as a lyricist and he knows what he can and what he can't respond to...At the end of the day he still gonna be getting money...He just wanted to address all the gossip and hate goin on about him.

Hermaphodites just have dual sexual organs kind of like deformed people with other body parts.

For the most part they arent gay and the amount of them is minimal compare to the rest of us.

I feel da fuck you are saying about everybody bein country (not that its a bad thing)
But when I moved to Cali the first thing I said was L.A. cats are southern but with a twist.

They just didn't act like NewYawka's
And being from that area and seeing the south when I lived in FL, I just immediately said the West was country.

The kindof favor the same styles of dress and cars and culture.
But when you break it down it's becuzz blacks got to the west from the south.
So it only makes sense

The blacks in the Norf been there for soo damn long that some of the southern culture faded.

Nothing wrong do ya thang, but I prefer the Jeep over tha impala.
I always used to get teased when I lived in Cali cuzz I didn't wear dickies and I always rocked the goose down.

Niggas in N.Y. will wear a jacket damn near to summer.

Cali cats dont even have jackets lol.

I loved Land Cruiser's over the 6-4.

I like hiphop with break beats,
Cali cats used to tease me saying "newyork rap got wack production"

And partially they were right back then, cuzz the west and the south production for the most part involves more sounds and instruments

Like Ohio Players back in tha day type beats.

Nas' verse from "We Major" off Kanye's Late Registration album

"I heard the beat and I ain't know what to write
First line, should it be about the hoes or the ice?
4-4's or Black Christ? Both flows would be nice
Rap about big paper or the black man plight
At the studio consol asked my man to the right
What this verse sound like, should I freestyle or write?
He said, Nas, what the fans want is Illmatic, Stillmatic
Picked up the pad and pencil and jotted what I feel
Been like 12 years since a nigga first signed
Now I'm a free agent and I'm thinking it's time
To build my very own Motown
Cuz rappers be deprived of executive 9 to 5s
And it hurts to see these companies be stealing the life
And I love to give my blood sweat and tears to the mic
So y'all copped the LPs and y'all fiends got dealt
I'm Jesse Jackson on the balcony where King got killed
I survived the livest niggas around
Lasting longer than more than half of you clowns
Look, I used to cook before I had the game took
Either way my change came like Sam Cooke."

NOW CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE!!!!!!!.....because Nas killed 75% of these so-called MC's with that one line!!!!!!!

He covered so much ground on that verse it's amazing......That's why i still love Hip Hop!!!!!!!!!!

good lookin on that link..Jason Whitlock has a tendency to talk out of his ass sometimes and this is most definitely one of those cases.

"It's already starting to happen. A little-publicized fact is that the Colts and the Patriots — the league's model franchises — are two of the whitest teams in the NFL. If you count rookie receiver Anthony Gonzalez, the Colts opened the season with an NFL-high 24 white players on their 53-man roster. Toss in linebacker Naivote Taulawakeiaho "Freddie" Keiaho and 47 percent of Tony Dungy's defending Super Bowl-champion roster is non-African-American. Bill Belichick's Patriots are nearly as white, boasting a 23-man non-African-American roster, counting linebacker Tiaina "Junior" Seau and backup quarterback Matt Gutierrez."

Well, Mr. Whitlock last time I checked, 24 and 23 is less than half of 53. that means that african americans are still the majority on those teams. What happened to being accountable for your own actions? Jason Whitlock says blame it on hip hop. "rap music made me do it." Nah man, your own damn self made you do it. Hip Hop is an influence on these people and nothing more. An influence doens't make you kill someone. It doesn't control your actions.

I agree that Chad Johnson or T.O. are crying on the sidelines to their coaches isn't right. Take that to the locker room. There's ways to express your frustration besides stomping your feet and screaming when you know it's gonna be on national TV. If I was a coach, and a player did that, the next time they dropped a pass, or ran the wrong route, or caught alligator arms comin across the middle, I would pull him off the field, make sure the cameras were on and let him have it.

But at the end of the day there are almost 1,700 players on the NFL roster every Sunday, and maybe 100 of them are fucking up. That still leaves 1,600 men that are doin the right thing, or just not doing the wrong thing. Staying in their lane, if you will. Of course the negative is gonna get the attention, because it makes the good guy that much better when you finally do hear a story about someone that did the right thing, or went out of their way to help someone. Because 99% of the time you're used to hearing about the guy who went out of his way to shit on somebody.

Sorry I went off topic a little bit, but that shit gets me worked up. Don't blame anybody or anything but the individual. Unless they had a gun to their head, they were making the decisions themselves.

@GawgaBwoy770...but in a lot of instances, the hate was deserved that went towards those southern artists that were puttin' out garbage. I don't honestly think every coast was hatin' on the entire black southern hemisphere. For the most part it was No Limit, Cash Money, and then that onslaught of 'snap music', coupled with any ol' cat with a southern drawl talkin' about gettin' and havin' money. It just started to sound like the same thing over and over again if I'm remembering correctly. I liked some of No Limits records and some of Cash Money's cuts, but that other stuff I just mentioned was horrible. Just bad music in general. But we were gettin' it force fed to us for so long. You're right about how the West got hated on too, but we didn't immediately jump to say our whole coast is gettin' hated on when one person said they didn't like Dogg Pound. East Coast vs West Coast beef excluded. All I'm saying is that the South has respect for producing some outright legends in the game and that isn't going anywhere, but to claim 'southern hater' every time someone from up north or out west takes issue with one group or rapper who's doing well, but isn't considered a great artist is ridiculous. I just don't like that accusation. I'm from the West and I can't stand Game, lol. I know there are others out there like me. I just like good rap, no matter where it came from.

@Big Jake...I still think you're kind of blowing the southern rap hate thing out of proportion. There aren't that many people that just completely dislike southern rap. If that was the case, when you went to NY, you wouldn't hear it spinning in the clubs. Trust me, southern rap is getting all the love it needs. Record sales doesn't always equate to great artistry either. Hell, Will Smith goes platinum every time out, how do you feel about his records?  As for Lil' Wayne kissin' Baby. Doesn't matter when it happened. Rap is unique in that it's the only genre of music where art empahtically imitates life. People want to know that rappers are representing what they talk about, not necessarily living it, but at least representing it. Lil' Wayne talks about being from the streets. The streets don't forgive homosexual acts. It's just a fact. How many thugged out, duffle bag boys that claim blood do you know that ever kissed another man on the lips?? If you only care about his raps, let's say he wore a dress and still rapped the same...would you still be as supportive? Chamillionaire is just crap to me. That simple flow, those simple rhymes, those corny concepts, those hooks he sings....it just isn't that good man. I've never heard him spit anything that moved me. I don't know anyone that owns one of his albums and I know quite a few rap fans. I think his fan base is predominantly in Texas.

Truly,

As far as Wayne gettin at 50, if he was smart he wouldn't do it.

A. 50 aint doin shit but looking for attention because everyone stopped talkin about him after the first week his CD came out and he lost to 'Ye
B. Wayne has a picture of him kissing another grown man on the mouth. There's not anyone on the planet who can convince me that it was the only time that happened. They have said they kiss on the mouth because it's like the mafia, and claimed that everyone in cash money was kissing on the mouth back in the day.

That's some Kobe Bryant to Shaq kind of shit to me. Kobe Bryant gets caught cheating on his wife and goes "uh..uh..well..uh..Shaq was doin it too"

So Wayne, and Baby, where's the proof? We got a picture of you and there are videos online of you kissing. I have yet to see one with B.G. and Juvenile lip locked.

But anyways..Wayne shouldn't go at 50, because as bad a rapper as 50, he came up through dissing people and he would just smash wayne for coming up through kissing people

no doubt on your comment. I wasn't makin it a racial issue if thats what it came off as. But just because there's not a white person who's as good as you at your position doesn't give the right to act like a baby when you dont get your way, you feel me? Shit's gonna go wrong, especially for the guys they listed. Chad Johnson's whole team is playin real shitty right now, but he's getting the most criticizm because he's the biggest star on the team. Larry Johnson is getting 8 in the box because the Chiefs don't have a passing game. So of course you're not gonna be able to run the ball like you want to. Everyone on their team knows if they stop you, you can't do anything else. Randy Moss hasn't been complaining because he's ballin out of control right now. And also because the Patriots don't play that shit. They almost went to the super bowl last year throwing to (my boys, and former Gators) Reche Caldwell and Jabbar Gaffney. They don't NEED Randy Moss to be good. But I don't think you'll hear him complaining because he gets open, and Tom Brady throws him the ball. Then he catches it, and scores a touchdown. Their team is straight shitting on everybody right now. No need to be upset.

T.O. is a joke. I wouldn't let him anywhere near my locker room if I was a GM in the NFL. He's a cancer. Sure, he led the NFL in touchdown receptions last year, with 12. Randy Moss and Plaxico Burress already have 8. He also led the league in dropped passes last year. He's a great athlete. But he's the first one to jump ship if someone spots a leak. He's the most selfish player in the league, maybe even league history. Just look at his note before last weeks game. Somethin about the 'real 81.' It wasn't T.O. vs. Randy Moss. It was the Patriots vs the Cowboys. The media made part of it T.O. vs Moss, but that's their job. T.O. should have come out and said Randy Moss has to worry about Terrance Newman and Anthony Henry. I have to worry about Asante Samuel. But he wanted to turn it in to the T.O. show. I will bet money that if the Cowboys start losing, he calls Tony Romo gay. Ask Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb. He called both of them gay, and Jeff Garcia is married to a playboy bunny.

But you're right, black people are the ones dominating in most professional sports right now. No denying it.

I don't get all of this hate towards Lil Wayne. Hip hop fans are the only ones who hate on their artists. People always say that he jumps on too many songs. It's funny how no one was saying that until 50 Cent brought it up. Do you think that pop fans care how many songs Justin Timberlake gets on??? They are happy to hear from they're favorite artists and if they don't wanna hear him, THEY DON'T LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC!!! It's funny how no one was saying that when 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Eminem, and other hot artists were hopping on everyone else's songs. I do admit that it was gay how he kissed baby, but I'm really not concerned with his sexuality, just his music. Some of you seem to only focus on that incident and it makes you look like a closet fag. The bottom line is that the lil dude is talented. He spits straight fiyah and the "Gossip" track proves it. And for all of you saying that it's not real hip hop, GTFOH, because hip hop has many different meanings, it's just not backpack MC's from New York using a bunch of big words.

And the knowledge is just is not seeming to stick.

I know they say it must taught 21 times before imprinting takes effect.

@BigJake, I just read your comment where you said, personally you could care less what a rapper does outside of the booth. You need to really think about that statement. And we can't just let the kissin Baby shit slide. That shit ain't cool. Wayne is a very talented artist, I'll give him that, but he is becoming very very redundant. Those 77 songs you mentioned were basically the same song recycled and switched around. And you talk about him havin his daughter around, but should he when all he does is smoke weed and pop pills and drink syrup (his words not mine). And with everyone sayin 50 is just tryin to start a beef for publicity, why should anyone let Wayne get away with runnin around sayin he's the best rapper alive without lettin 50 make him prove it. Its kinda like when T.I. made the whole King statement, and Flip didn't agree, what'd T.I. do? He made the album of the year and all but destroyed Flip's career. Wayne can't just run around sayin he's the best and then ignore 50 when he makes a diss track. Prove that shit Weezy, show us why you the best. Cause to me, he's not even top 5. He's hot right now but he's not top 5.

I agree but catch shit sells..If you come up with the right catch phrase even outside of music it'll make you a lot of money..

@ Presidential

We don't think it's the whole country..Like I said the North is very competitive and the South ain't..We focused on doing us more than what the next man got..That's why it isn't as much beef with our artists..That's why it's more unity down here..Honestly, we don't look at the West's response to our music the same because most of the time if y'all don't like it y'all do like us and bypass it..Y'all don't go around with all the yo that shit is wack and they bama's, this, that and the third..It's all about the way you respond to the music..When we don't like y'all artists or don't care for them we just don't bump them..We don't go around debating and hating..It's ridiculous how much time we spend thinking about negative shit..If we spent more things dealing with the positive then maybe we would be able to do more positive things..Too much competition between a people that don't have shit to call their own..

When the West talked about nothing but gangbanging we bought y'all shit and some didn't but we didn't just say all that's some bullshit because they talking about killing other brothaz and all that..We supported y'all artists and we supported the East throughout all their crazy time including shiny suits, the introduction to the braggadocious lifestyle that the South speaks a lot of now and the list could go on and on..

The majority of the music most people complaining about they really shouldn't be listening to anyway because it's not for their age group..You got 30 year old men talking about a 17 year old kid is wack and shit..In my opinion they are wack for even commenting on kid music..That's like me commenting on Bow Wow or Lil Romeo cd..It won't happen because it's not for me..You don't here us going around saying chicken noodle soup, aunt jackie and the list could go on with this one too..That's like when KRS-1 went after Nelly for no reason at all..I'm not a fan of his but what was the reason besides hate because his cd wasn't selling and I am a fan of KRS-1..Too much self hate in our people

Don't take none of this personally..It's just my thoughts and opinions people..

@GawgaBwoy770....I see where you're comin' from. The east has in the past dissed anything that didn't fit into their mold of hip-hop. It even went so far as to say plainly that if you ain't from the east coast, you're just wack off that alone. I can understand their protectiveness of the culture they started though. It's like if you or I started up a movement that branched out into the corners of the planet, we'd be pretty protective of it too cause it's 'your baby', so to speak. Even if we don't want to hear it from the east coast, we should at least listen. We owe them that much as the creators. If it's just hate, then throw it out, but if it's constructive criticism, soak it up. I know  a lot of up north heads enjoy southern lyricists and dance in the clubs to the other stuff too. That's why those east coast M.C.'s like Busta Rhymes and Nas were kind of hot about it. Their own DJ's weren't spinnin' creative, original hip-hop anymore and started trying to go corporate by only playing 'the hottest' songs out and they happened to be down south dance tracks. It's like KRS-1 said though, it's about innovation, not redundancy. We don't want to hear the same sound over and over....come with something fresh and new. Unfortunately there was a spell where all those southern bangers sounded the same....had that Lil' John sound.

I also can see why a lot of southerners might become defensive when hearing their artists criticized. It did go on for a long time, but even back in the day southern heads were considering it hate no matter how wack the artist was. That's a prime example of that unity you mentioned. They defended every one of their rappers, regardless of their skill or talent level. But do you honestly think it's too much competition? Hip-hop was bred on competition, trying to outdo the next cat. It's All-American in that sense.
I know you ain't goin' at no one personally with your opinion. It's just a solid, honest opinion. We know your style big homie.

Let's be totally honest about something..Rap started in the South..Hip Hop started in NY..There's a difference in the two but they are somewhat one in the same..Hip Hop pertains to many different elements but rapping is just making words rhyme and telling a story..More than anything the East Coast put it on records and brought the beats with the rhymes..But I do respect what they brought to the game but I don't feel as though we should be inferior to them.

You know what you said about KRS-1 saying hip hop should evolve..Well the East Coast artists ran into some stumbling blocks back at the end of the 80's and early 90's and they haven't really been the same since then..The reason the spotlight left them was because their artists were too similar and redundant.. That's what gave the West coast an opportunity to shine and do them..They brought some different beats and stories..Well the South is doing the same but we are telling it in our own language and dialect..Some of these people are just straight ignorant and should've learned more in English class but we understand them..

I do think black people are too competitive with each other..If all the ants in an ant bed wanted to be individuals and  not work together then the job would take longer or not get done at all..That's why we ain't getting shit accomplished..We always got to look down on the next person because they hair is nappy,  too dark skinned, too light, nose too big and so on..We always choose to make differences within each other rather than looking at our similarities and why we should be working together..

It's like this..With us rap is just like our way of living..More carefree and fun..When you think of the East Coast you think of more serious and uptight people..They rap more about their problems and the negativity from their experiences..The South choose to make light of it..We don't go around saying our rappers are the best and we created hip hop..Honestly, most people down here don't care about bullshit like that..We got pulled into a competition that we didn't want to be in, in the first place..Our artists don't go out of their way to say we belong to hip hop..They just want to get paid and have fun..That's it..

We know Gucci can't compete with Nas song for song or on any lyrical level but we'd much rather hear him in the club though...It's a time and place for all hip hop in my opinion..The bottom line is East Coast artists need to get mad at their people up there for not supporting them and not the rappers nor fans down here..We buy their albums but the people that should be relating the most to what they are saying ain't supporting them..Why? Because they hating on the artists from their neighborhoods saying they ain't shit because they don't want to see them shine..They think they should be in that person's position...That's the same reason why the South might keep hip hop in a choke hold for years to come..I've said this before and i'll say it again...When the East and West were in control of the game they had just as many wack rappers..I remember the shit that was being put out..The majority of them cats nobody even remember anymore and it will be the same way with a lot of  artists that are out now in due time..

There's a lot of crab in the basket niggs on this site. Why all the negativity??? If some of you spent less time hating and more time focusing on doing you, then maybe some of you would be in the news or rumors section of this site. You know, you could be the next big thing lol. Instead of reduced to insulting rappers online who are actually doing something with themselves instead of internet hating.

@GawgaBwoy770...I have to completely disagree with you on rap starting in the south. Rap is derived from the M.C. which is one of the four branches of hip-hop culture. Rappers began in the bronx....the south picked up on that later. And don't misunderstand me, I didn't say y'all or any coast should think they're inferior, just that every coast that participates in hip-hop owes the east the same respect you would an elder when they speak on Rap, DJ'ing, Graffiti, or B-Boying. That doesn't mean they will always be right, but it's because of them that we are even having this discussion so I think they deserve our respect to that extent at least.

I don't think the east coast stumbled in the late 80's either, nor the early nineties....those are what are referred to as the golden years of hip-hop. At that point, it was very hard to find one group that sounded the same. Producers weren't considered super producers so it wasn't guaranteed that you would hear one particular sound on every artists album. I know you know cause you were there. There was everything from Pete Rock and CL Smooth, De La Soul, Redman, Keith Murray, Ghetto Boys, OG Style, Eighball and MJG, Gangstarr, Big L, Common Sense, Fu Schnickens, N.W.A., RBL Posse, Souls of Mischief, Spice 1....we had so many different styles and artists to choose from. They were all different and innovative in their own way. That was why they called it The Golden Era. It was full of innovation from every coast that chose to participate. And my whole thing is this...maybe there were a lot of wack rappers on every coast, but at least they were wack in an original sense back then. They weren't all trying to sound like the next nigga. Same producers, same type of hooks being sang, same slowed down flow, same topics.

I also don't think the torch left the east because they were too redundant or sounded the same. The super producers had a hand in this and sales from dance music did too. Now, actual skills and creativity are being overshadowed by the investments music companies are willing to make to put out mindless, talentless dance music. It sells....simple as that. The south has always been good at making music to dance to so that's one of the main reasons the market is flooded with that brand of southern music. If you notice, it's not being flooded with the actual tight artists out the south who have lyrics. No Scarface, Juvenile, UGK, Eightball/MJG, Goodie Mobb, Field Mobb. No....we're getting Soulja Boy, Hurricane, Ying Yang, Lil John, Bubba Sparxx, and Tum Tum.

As for black folks being too competitive with each other, you're right in regards to black folks in general, but I'm talking about hip-hop specifically. Hip-hop is competitive in nature. Every aspect of it is about being doper than the next man. Hip-hop without competition is redundance because it just becomes more of the same. THAT is why Nas said it's dead. Nobody is trying to come up with anything new, fresh, or innovative and that's what hip-hop is all about. Without that, it's nothing....doesn't exist....dead.

I don't see how you can say southern artists don't want to compete and just want to make money while having fun. I don't think so....too many beefs go on down there for that to be true. T.I. and Lil' Flip. Luda and Young Jeezy. Scarface and Lil' Troy. Lil' Wayne and B.G......if that's not competition, I don't know what is. Just because a lot of them make carefree tracks doesn't mean they don't want to be the best. Why else would Lil' Wayne say greatest rapper alive?

I agree with you that there's a time and a place for different types of rap. I know I'm not bangin' Common on the way to the club, but I just wish the market would even out the field a bit more. Give us all they used to back in the day so we can choose what to listen to and not be forced into hearing and seeing something that we aren't feelin' all the time. Simply put......I still think y'all are trippin' and ain't nobody hatin' on the south, lol. Just a select group of artists....

I could give you a few rappers out of the South when there was no such thing as hip hop..James Brown was not just a singer..He was a rapper..Think about it..Rudy Ray Moore was also a rapper and he was from the South as well..It's a difference between being an mc and a rapper and to tell you the truth James Brown might should be considered both..The art of storytelling by slaves was where rap really originated from to really take it back to the essence...All forms of music pretty much originated down here..Most of the artists that come from the West and East people still live in the South..

I hear what you saying but they stumbled like hell at the end of the 80s and early 90's until Nas, BIG, Wu-Tang and Jay-Z brought it back..I don't care what the hip hop newspaper critics want to call that era..To the consumers the West had it locked during that time period..It even took people to catch on to BIG at the time..His cd probably didn't outsell Souljah Boy in his first week sales..EPMD was barely reaching gold status..The West and South make up the majority of the consumers so we really determine who will get radio play..I ain't saying the East didn't have great artists at that time but they wasn't doing no numbers or getting the attention that some of them actually deserved..But when you talk about that time period you can't just look at who represented them well you have to look at all the garbage acts as well..The majority of them I can't remember but Onyx was wack to me..Fu-Shnickens was wack.I started to bring them up at first but I left them alone..I can't really name to many of them because the majority of them I can't remember..It was a million niggaz rapping the same way from New York back then and even a lot of East Coast niggaz will tell you that's why they lost it for a few..The producers were making the same kind of beats..Why do you think the West got so much love? It wasn't their lyrics persay..It had more to do with the beats they brought because we all know that's what catch hip hop listeners ears first..

The Southern artists who you called out..Some of the deserve it but all of them are unique and they bring their own style to hip hop..I guarantee if you were in the club at any point that any of those artists had a cd out you would be up in there tipsy on some chick while she backing it up on you..Why not appreciate those artists for the experiences they help bring to you in the club instead of wanting to compare them to lyricists? I think Bubba Sparx shouldn't be in that list to begin with..I think you may have only heard a few tracks and judged him off of that but truth be told he can flow and he have some real topics sometimes..Why would you want to compare UGK to Lil John? That's like comparing Def Squad  or Wu-Tang to Swizz Beats..By the way, you can't be lyrical and dance at the same time..I've never seen that work no matter where the artists was from..

By the way, when y'all had artists like Skee-lo dropping we forgave y'all..lol..He wasn't the only one either..The West had a lot of artists with similar voices and rap styles when they had the torch..So did the Midwest...But every artists from New York was rapping fast and trying to sound wild as hell at one time...It's natural...People from the same area will sound a like sometimes..Plus at the end of the day a rapper can't make nobody listen to their song or cd..If the consumers don't like it they won't support it..Plain and simple..

We are competitive but it's more on who's getting the most money..Not who's the best lyricist..It's a different reason for the competition..I've never heard none of those artists besides Wayne say they were the best rapper, how about the eastcoast? It would take you all weekend to count them..Do you honestly think all hip hop would sound the same without competition? I think there would be more unique artists and there wouldn't be as much seperation in the consumers on who they like..It's like now they are forcing you to like one artist or the another..The way most of y'all are looking at it is to blame the artist for putting out material that the consumers like..I believe they shouldn't sell their soul to sell cd's but damn..If anything the consumers are wack for supporting it unless they fit into that age group..Also, every southern artists you named with beefs all made songs together or politicked at one time or another but fell out about money not about who's the best lyricist..

I have love for a lot of artists from all over..It just depends what I feel like hearing..Even the club songs get love from me when I'm in the club trying to sit something on a chick back..lol..But I hear you on the music being evened out but at the end of the day it's not up to the artists it's up to us..We are complaining about the artists when it's really the consumers that are fucking up the radio stations..By the way, Nas contributed his fair share to killing hip hop with "Owe me something" with Ginuwine and for ghostwriting "Gettin Jiggy wit it", "Just Cruisin" and " Yes Yes Y'all" for Will Smith..lmao

@GawgaBwoy770....but if we're takin' it that far down the line to the point that we're considering James Brown one of the original rappers instead of a soul singer, we might as well just say it started in Africa instead. I don't buy that definition of rap. I think it's just a way to tie the artform to older generations so they can make us pay respect and homage to the classics. Rap has gotten so fargone and often is seen as being such an original art that our parents and their parents want to define it as something their generation started so the rebellious nature of rap can be brought back to respecting our elders. I ain't doubtin' that my families roots and many other's are from the south. In all actuality, black folks around the country like the same things and that's all developed from the south. Our way of dressing, our taste in food, our music, our love for dance. We share that regardless of our coast. One thing people forget though is that when rap took off back in the late seventies, it wasn't just black folks doin' it. The Puerto Ricans and even some Whites were in on that movement as well.

As for the consumers being who we should blame, it's hard to do that because the majority of the people buying hip-hop albums are young white girls. Bet most people on here didn't know that, but that's an actual statistic. They make up the majority of hip-hop record sales. So how do we tell them that what they enjoy listening to isn't real hip-hop and they should help the culture get back to what it was? We can't. The majority of young white women in America know nothing of the culture or rap music's importance to the real fans. They do understand those simple ass lyrics though and know it's meant to shake their asses too. Same as it was back when rock and roll first hit the scene with Chuck Berry. It wasn't black folks that made him successful, it was white America. So we can blame them for the current state of hip-hop if we want, but the cats makin' that music gotta' share some of the blame too. We have the power to guide rap's sound and image.

I guess we just have two different views on the competition aspect of southern hip-hop. I think a very large majority of them are very competitive. Any of them talkin' about slangin' drugs is a competitor cause that's a competitive business. You have to claim to have the best drugs, cheapest products, most weight available. I haven't heard a southern cat in rap within the past 5 years not mention drugs unless it was Souljah Boy or Outkast. Maybe a few others, but you get my point.

And good shit on the Nas ghostwriting. I can't knock that argument, lol. I won't go as far as to say that Will Smith caused the death of hip-hop or originality, but Nas does lose points for writin' rhymes for his cheesy ass, lol.

I agree about who makes up the majority of the consumer but that goes back to the hating issue and crabs in a bucket mentality because it wasn't always that way..When Southern artists began to support their artists the album sales began to plummet from both coasts but the difference is the West wasn't as divided as the East even with all the gangs and shit..The West and South artists can easily go gold or platinum with just their state and the few surrounding states..The East can't do that because of their mentality..When have you ever heard of any of their underground artists generating the mixtape sales that Jeezy or Plies did before they hit the market? They don't because they can't get that kind of love at home..

The way you speak pertaining to what the rappers are doing is like you would like to see all of them on the positive tip..That's being redundant and not original..Everybody can't be Common, Talib,  Mos or Nas..That's just not logical and we can't expect everybody to have the same perception of what they saw growing up because not everyone had a positive person around explaining to them the difference between right and wrong..Some of these rappers grew up with crackhead mothers and fathers and don't know anything else except the streets..Should we turn our back on our own people for the struggles they went through or their way of explaining it? Music is entertainment and not everything can be blamed on rappers or hip hop in our community..We need better parents not better rappers..If the parents taught their kids morals and values then a lot of this music wouldn't even be relevant and a lot of these rappers would think more about what they are saying because they would think about the fact that they aren't just representing themselves but their families as well...

What East or West Coast artists haven't talked about drugs or guns on their cd and are older than 18? It's going to take you all weekend to think about that one too..All hustlers are competitive but it's a difference between friendly competition and hating..The difference is one is just saying I got something good you should check out too and the other is fuck that other nigga and come and fuck with my shit..See the difference? I know you get it now because the southern artists are more humble and are like just check out my cd..The east artists are on some fuck them niggaz and come listen to my shit...It's just like with a woman..It don't take a real nigga to hate on the next man to get the chick..I ain't never been a hating type a dude so I can't relate to all that shit..I live by morals and values and I stick to them..Hating is a weak emotion that niggaz resort to when they can't compete..

I ain't saying Will Smith caused the death of hip hop but to be totally honest he was the first to really take it to the commercial level with the comical rap and happy go lucky rap..

Since you are from up there let's be totally honest..The east coast  carry themselves with a certain cockiness and arrogance pertaining to fashion, music, language and damn near everything else..It's always we are the best and smartest and this and that..Truthfully, when have you ever heard a southern artists come out and openly diss anything about y'all culture or anything else? This hating thing didn't just start yesterday..I have people in New York so I know how we were and still are getting dissed on y'all radio stations..We never was on that bullshit when everything that was being played down here was coming from y'all..But as i've said before and i'll say it again 95% of our artists or fans don't concern themselves with the nonsense..We like good music, whether it be lyrical or club..The only reason we are getting any spins up there now is because of the kids..They want to dance, laugh and be happy..Well, in my opinion let them have it because eventually they are going to step into this grown folks world and their perception of life will change and so will their taste in music..If more niggaz our age supported real hip hop in which I do then the artists we want to hear would be getting the recognition they deserve..Instead most of these niggaz are going around bitching and complaining about what's on the radio but ain't went out and bought none of these artists cd's with something to say..We as people talk and complain to much, with very little action..

I definitely agree it's good music coming from everywhere and I listen to anybody with something to say..I dig Joell Ortiz but do you think it really helped him by trying to shit on the south with his first single? It was showing respect to his roots but the stepping on your white sunglasses shit was a subliminal diss..It was unnecessary because he got talent..Then you got Havoc drunk ass dissing everybody because his cd went double plastic..I think he got talent too but he's an idiot for signing to 50 because they lost credibility with that move and they don't promote everybody cd's the same over there..But just like you said everybody is too consumed with the money and not the art..

But all in all most niggaz ain't paying this shit no attention..Our ego's aren't that big but we will defend our own..We don't ask nobody else to like Gucci, Jeezy or any of our rappers that fit into that category but we be damn if we let somebody else tell us not to support our hometown artists and that's what's going on..Oh yea, you know it wasn't no way in hell I was comparing Souljah Boy to BIG like that..I was just using him as an example to show how record sales weren't big for east coast artists at the time he dropped..I don't listen to the kiddie rap pimpin..I leave that to my lil girl and cousins..Bottom line is hip hop will never be even out where every region is eating so everybody need to do like we did and wait their turn because like you said everything comes full circle eventually whether it be fashion, hairstyles or music..
