Hip-Hop Rumors: Jadakiss Is On Roc-A-Fella, Y'all! Royce Da 5'9" Disses Miistah FAB!

Don't forget yesterday's rumors! Soulja Boy Takes A Leak? Jay-Z's Roc Boy Video, Amy's Winehouse, Alicia Keys' Best Bud or Boyfriend?!? Mya is not being dropped! Bow Wow and Omari face off!

JADAKISS IS ON ROC-A-FELLA - THANK ME LATER.

There have been a lot of gossip fodder going back and forth for a long time. I told you ‘Kiss was already signed to the Roc and Jay-Z made a statement that threw everything off. Well, here are the facts.

In Jay’s new video for “Roc Boys” Jadakiss unequivocally confirms that he is on the Roc Boys team. From what I have been bless to “hear” ‘Kiss joined the Roc-A-Fella Records team a little over a week ago.

DID I MENTION JADAKISS THROWS UP THE ROC SIGN IN THE NEW VIDEO FOR “ROC BOYS” BY MR. JAY-Z?

You might not believe me now, but unless there is some last second editing going on, Jadakiss is down with Roc-A-Fella, y’all.

The Roc is looking kinda strong right now!

ROYCE DA 5’9” GOES BERSERK!!!

My goodness gracias. UM...when I wrote this entry, I knew this diss was coming, but I had no clue. If you remember his D12 Diss, you know "Malcolm" has more venom than your average rapper. What's Mistah Fab got now? This will be interesting....!

Click here to listen to "You Got Bodied."

For fun, read the rumor...I did take time to write it!

I’m smelling beef on the Barbie! There is a leak in the Royce Da 5’9” camp and I am hearing that Royce has recorded a diss record towards Mistah FAB. Now, nobody has heard this diss – at least nobody I know, but this is supposedly ether. Mistah FAB fired the first shot with “I Bodied You,” to use the most violent term I could muster. Well, Royce sent out a very soft jab in his “Blue Magic” Freestyle. On top of everything, EVERYTHING… Chedda Boyz and Trick Trick hop on the diss and stand side by side with Royce after Fab said he was cool with them. UG…this needs to stay on wax!

BEFORE HE SELF DESTRUCTS

So, 50 Cent is about to drop again very soon. Yes, that’s right. Not only is he releasing this album with G-Unit in December. He’s also releasing Before I Self Destruct in April of 08. I don’t think 50 is going to let anybody eat. Anyway, in some recent interviews, 50 conceded that Kanye won the “battle” based on the energy he created around the event. He also has stated that if “I Get Money” was the first single, we wouldn’t be talking about a battle. That is something that I could actually agree with.

50 CENT AND CIARA: READY TO COME OUT?

This is a nice way to start promoting his new albums. Rumor says 50 Cent and Ciara made their love official at the World Music Awards last night. I cannot say for certain, but that’s what people were saying about the Monte Carlo-hosted event. I didn’t really know this couple thing was official between these two. Anyway, they supposedly performed too. You know I don’t keep up. LOL.

SNOOP PUNK’ING ROCKERS?

Rule No. 1 with Snoop Dogg: don’t fall asleep around him. Rocker dude Pete Doherty had to find out the hard way, according to The Mirror. Well, Pete’s homey and bandmate violated rule one and fell asleep in a hotel in Europe, where Pete and Snoop were staying. Anyway, the guy was allegedly drunk and passed out. Anyway, Snoop decides to take dudes clothes off him as a gag. Well, when he woke up, he caught Snoop and Pete was HEATED! A source at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel said, "Snoop and his pals were trying to take all his clothes off after he'd passed out - Snoop was laughing his head off. But Pete didn't seen the funny side and asked Snoop what the f*** he was doing. Snoop's bouncers came over and before you knew it a scuffle had broken out." Man, these rock dudes are playing with their life!

MERK DA SOUNDMAN!

Look, Talib Kweli is that dude. He’s got one of this year’s best albums in EARDRUM. This is where the rumor starts. My boys Big Herm and Homemade told me that they saw Talib play and he was killing it, in typical Talib fashion. Only thing is, UM doesn’t play with artists going overtime! Word is, they cut the man’s set off! I heard Talib raised nothing less than “cane” backstage to whoever was in charge. I heard there was quite a ruckus. Anyway, don’t be a fool – let Talib play or at least get a lil’ warning! Get hit in the head with a book or something, b. I’m kidding, shout out to Talib!

JOE BUDDEN’S NEW VIDEO

I can’t be mad at Budden. He’s just trying to appeal to a wider audience. Still, I want that “Dumb Out II” or “7 Minutes of Death.”

TREY SONGZ: A VICTIM OF POLICE BRUTALITY?

Trey Songz played lasat night at the Hippodrome in Springfield, Mass. On Saturday (Nov. 2). So, I heard that there was a shooting there, sometime around 1 am by some ignorant folks. Well, people start running for their lives (which is what should happen). I heard that in an effort to get the devil out of there, the police got ahold of Trey Songz and his security. Now, I heard they slammed him against a police car and everything I don’t know if this is 100% true, but if it is, we’ll hear much more. This isn’t the first time Trey has had issues with the cops. Last month, he had issues in ATL and that’s when JT Money was accused of having a role in it.

Read the AHH interview with Trey. He’s a good dude.

ALLHIPHOP: AMERICAN GANGSTER SPECIAL

American Gangster raked in $46.3 MILLION at the box office over the weekend. If I am correct, that’s the biggest debut for Denzel and Russell C. in a HOT minute (if not ever). Anyway, AHH did a lil’ special on the movie that I think you should check out. Check here to WATCH IT! They got Jay-Z, Common, T.I., Method Man (We love ya, MEF!), RZA and even the lovely Ruby Dee! The stars also comment on the T.I. situation. WATCH IT!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

They are saying that Beyonce is going to do a dance flavored CD on the next album. I guess that adds to the Timbaland rumors. But is this also an effort to stomp on Rihanna’s terrain? Just talk.

They saying that Kelly Rowland was turned down for the “Sex in the City” movie. They must be crazy.

Shout out to my girl KayCee out of Newport News, VA. VA is for Lovers! We had a nice lil’ conversation that lead to understanding. LOL.

Did Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger hook up with Lewis Hamilton, the UK racecar driver? Rumor has it, the 22 year old took the cat back to his hotel after the MTV European Awards.

This is a lil’ bit of a yawner to me, but I heard that Bizzy Bone is close to coming back to the other Bone Thugs. Word is Lazy and Biz are doing an album called Bone Brothers For Life. Bone did well – with Bizzy, they will do better.

I missed this: Termanology has a new video for “So Amazing.” Check it out.

Jim Jones has dissed Jay-Z again with “Real American Gangsta.” Its gonna be a cold winter!

Check out Sammy Da Bull’s Ice! He’s in jail so they sold his jewelry in an auction. See the prices too! He’s like the biggest snitch in the world.

Rihanna's rumored boy friend, actor Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers"), was arrested in Chicago Sunday after allegedly refusing to leave a Walgreens. GANGSTA! He was charged with misdemeanor count of trespassing.

RANDOM QUOTES:

Boyz II Men on why they fell off (The UK Sun):

Wanya: “When you’ve got the biggest hip hop artists in the world, who’ve been shot nine times, saying they want to have sex with people and artists like us laying we’d like to make love to people then we were always going to lose. We felt like unfashionable uncles. Hip-Hop became the mainstream art form and completely overshadowed R&B. Radio wouldn't touch us.

Jay-Z on the sales slump of Hip-Hop (La Times):

"Our fans are younger, so our fans live on computers. Other genres still have an adult audience, and as adults we're not stealing music off the Internet. We'll pay for the convenience of not having to wait for it to download, right? We will go to the store and actually pay for it just so we won't have to deal with that." (Oh, I thought it was because people were sick of the N-Word and gangsta rap??? LOL, Fox is wackadoodle!)

Immortal Technique on racism (AllHipHop):

"We must conduct a revolution on all fronts. One in the arts, music, poetry, legal work, teaching, theology, medicine, childcare & development, all forms of media, science, math, and engineering, etc., all in order to fight centuries of purposeful ignorance."

Plies on critics of Hip-Hop like Fox.

"I tell people all the time, if you take the financial gain out of this (rap) s**t, people wouldn’t give a f**k about what a young, allegedly ignorant Black male was over here talkin’ about. Like if you really cared about Hip-Hop and the culture, and how artists address women, what are you doing to rectify the situation besides placing blame on Hip-Hop?"

THE STREET GANGS OF NEW YORK

Gangs are not just an LA thing. There is a movie called “Ain’t Gonna Eat My Mind,” a documentary on the New York City gangs. Drugs. Genocide. Murder. The “gangs” all here! This predates Hip-Hop, critic!

RIP TO HENRY CELE AKA SHAKA ZULU!

You know, I saw Shaka Zulu in the 80’s. it was a crazy movie to me, because it had straight naked women in it on network TV. After I got over that I watched the movie and what a powerful movie it IS! Anyway, that powerful figure that played the legendary warrior was none other than Henry “Black Cat” Cele. He died on Friday from a chest infection at the age of 58. Nuff respect due to Cele for his portray of the Zulu King. For more info, click here…read up on this man as well as Shaka Zulu!

Obita Warriror - “Shaka Zulu”

If you want a remix of Shaka Zulu for the 2007, check this out. I know some of you aren’t ready for this. I like it though.

Shaka Zulu’s Coronation!

Shaka takes the throne by force!

ILL PICS!

Liris Crosse can get me in trouble and Remy Ma can arrest me! Just kidding! This is from Liris' birthday party, which I think fell right before Halloween. Liris is going to be in the January issue of Vogue Magazine. You go GIRL! Models step up your bars...or your bras! (LOL!)

I let this NY Jet dude Thomas bring my girl to the party.

BITTERSWEET!

Kanye and John Mayer...the new Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson. Check out this dry humor.

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Royce murdered Mistah Fab. Everybody still talkin' bout the battle. Nigga that was months ago. The song that he dropped this week is gonna end Fabby's career. If you think it won't ask D12 what happened after Royce dropped "Malcolm X". Plain and simple, he don't want it with Royce.

50 and Ciara everybody already knew that.

Joe Budden song was hot. Niggaz gotta eat. Females buy albums too. Niggaz say "Money Over Bitches" but if women didn't like cats with money, nobody would be tryin' to get it. You know what it is. Stop takin' shit so literal.

2. The Royce and Mr Fab thing is interesting. At least you know that this is a battle strictly on record. WHich is cool. Battling has always been a part of hip hop history.

3. 50 had an ill interview on Power 105 in NYC this morning. The whole Olivia thing was really eye opening.

4. As far as 50 and Ciara, is this news anymore?

5. Get em Snoop. Come on that's an unwritten rule man, at least where I'm from. If you partying with me and my peeps and you can't maintain your high and pass out... you're a victim.

6. Police and Trey Songz. Same old shit in this country with black folk and the cops. No matter how much money you have.

7. Good for American Gangster. Glad to see a "black" movie getting some props because you know how they play with "our" films doing shady shit with the tickets and such.

AP is a monster. Everyone who hates on him is just pissed he isn't on their team (which I am too. Fuckin Bucs. Called heads in the coin flip with the browns, and everyone knows tails never fails, then pass on AP)

He has NO passing game and runs with 8 in the box almost every down. The vikings QBs have combined to go 110/218 for 1330 yards. They have thrown for 5 TDs and thrown 6 INTs. The team QB rating is a 65.7.

Through 8 games he has 1,036 rushing yards and 8 rushing TDS. He averages 130 rushing yards and a TD a game. He's their 3rd leading reciever with 206 yds and a TD. He only trails their leader in receiving yards by 78, and has more TDs than their leading receiver. He's got Rookie of the Year on lock, even if he didn't carry the ball another time the rest of the season. If it wasn't for Tom Brady, he would have that MVP in a choke hold too.

this young brother boss up is a intelligent young brother he seem to get it. but way to many brothers his age are getting lead astray. they see joining gangs as a viable way to get ahead in life. they think going to jail is cool. or playing with guns make you hard but they dont understand that they act the way they act cause they afraid and i speak out of experience cause i was one of them. you waste alot of time running the streets most of your time is spent trying to pay back money you owe and the nigga you came up with that went to school with you buying his first house. that jail shit is for suckers.

Real talk I been following Brett Favre every since Atlanta had him and didn't know what to do with him. Back when he was getting smashed downtown and was traded for basically nothing because of his off the field situations..But I like the Packers this year and I think they are more a sleeper than just a legitimate contender for the NFC..You know that division is always weak as fuck and it's always only one team out of that division that play good and the rest suck or all of them suck so it's never any telling with that conference..My Bears play out of the same conference but it ain't really been that tough in years and Packers just barely getting the victories they getting but they are winning and I do acknowledge that..That's that leadership winning it late in the games..That touchdown last week in overtime was one of the best overtime plays I've ever seen..First play action...If Brady wasn't playing like he is Favre would have a good chance to win the MVP but Brady got it easy unless Adrian Peterson keep putting this pressure on him..If he finish the season with 2200 yards plus of total offense it's going to be hard not to make him a co-mvp..

Besides your Avi being on point, what your talking about is true.

Black folks (all urban folks too) seem to glorify the gangsta lifestyle way too much.
We make movies about thugs and it blow up, but black folks doing good is soft or square?

Same with hiphop the artist that ain't gangsta are square and don't sell?

These cats are glorifying Al Pacino or some gangsta's on t.v. but them cats but they script down and go home.

Even Frank Lucas got popped and ain't living like that no more.

When are we gonna take some accountablity?

These younger cats looking at Game, or JimJones or Snoop and thinking it's cool to bang?

Naw it's cool to work hard take care of your familia and put your kids in college while doing it all legally.

Most hustla's that I knew growing up that had dough don't have it now.

while us that wasn't doing that much dirt are owning homes and taking care of bidness.

I understand the urge to hustle in the dope game when shit is tuff and you don't see any future.
But everyone has to take a chance on their future and if you want to be successful in life you have to do what other successful people have done.

And that's get educated
Work smart
Own Land
Build Wealth

"if you continue to do that same things expect the same results"

Jay-Z 40 years old still talking about when he was 17.
He needs to go back to battle rapping and hang the thug shit up.

Talib put out an album and people sleep.

I like a little street music like most people but I want it to be just that....music. Don't let life imitate art like T.I.

This life thang ain't a movie, you can get shot for your shit, or end up doing a bid.

That's why cats in the game that get knocked snitch, once the feds hit them with that reality they realize how real shit is.
Any body on this site would shit they pants if someone told you that you'd be doing 15 years behind bars.
I know I would, no freedom for 15 years?
shiiiit I'm 31 that's like half the life I've lived already.

Yea, I could see that happening if the Giants hit a hot streak offensively because Manning was part of the reason the defense got beat up so much the first couple of games..They stayed on the field too long because he wasn't moving the ball when he had it..Strahan and the young cat coming off the other end are giving teams hell..The young boy actually look like he out playing Strahan right now but Manning too inconsistent for me to put money on them..But I think he capable of getting on a four game streak and that's about how many it takes to get there so who knows..I expected more from McNabb this year..But that whole division got teams that's capable of playing on a high level...That's probably the best division in the NFC..David Giraud looking better than McNabb..Actually Giraud's qb rating for the year is higher than Peyton..

@ GawgaBwoy

yea, the leadership on the Pack is ill, but I see Favre givin credit to the youth a lot too. Sayin that there's situations where he's ready to run the ball and end the game when they're down, because the veteran in him says there's not much of a chance, but the rest of the team is so young they don't know the difference and it's helping him play even more like the Favre of old.

Whatever he doing he need to keep doing it because he about      40 and playing better than 90% of the qb's in the NFL..He's gotten better over years..What he lost in physical ability he is making up in his overall understanding of the game..He's put up all these big numbers without great receivers and that's what really put him in the same light as Marino..Brady is the same way..They'll take a bum off the streets and make them look like a superstar..I ain't saying everybody they had was bums but they never really had standout receivers..I think Brady was always a smarter qb than Manning but he never had a Marvin Harrison calibur receiver until Moss and now look at the numbers he's putting up..Welker is good but Moss making him look like a superstar..Whenever he get his new contract he need to break Randy off for all them double teams he's drawing allowing him to get open though..

those are my thoughts exactly on the Brady-Manning argument. Brady won 3 rings throwing to receivers who wouldn't be in the Colts top 4, probably even top 5.

But then people say Manning had that season with 49 TDs and all that...So I break it down like this. Look at the receivers he had vs the Pats WRs this year.

Randy Moss > Marvin Harrison, but only because he's taller and can go get the ball up high
Donte Stallworth < Reggie Wayne
Wes Welker < Brandon Stokely
Dallas Clark = Ben Watson
Indy O line = Pats O Line

So Manning had the advantage in receivers. He has the advantage in Offensive Coordinator. He has the advantage in everything except the stats, and rings. That's why Brady is better, hands down.

I co-sign everything you said but was that their careers or this season because I don't think Stokely is still on the roster...I think you meant to say Brady got the rings and Manning got the stats..Manning got him in career passing yards by around 15,000 yards and by about 100 touchdowns..But I think if Brady had Moss his whole career Brady would've went down in History as possibly the greatest qb..Moss made Culpepper look like the best thing going at qb for a quick minute..

@ the_dboy417

I don't think I'd put them in that category until the secondary improved some more because the Ravens defense was like the old Bears or Steelers..The Giants line is a helluva lot better than their secondary and the Ravens had it all..I don't think you can put them in their with the old Bucs or Ravens defense until they start stopping the pass as well as the run..

I wouldn't doubt the Colts play noise like that. It's definitely what teams do in preparation of playing in a dome, so there are tapes of crowd noise. You gotta figure that the noise would already be loud, given the game itself, but I did think they were extra rowdy. But I thought that was because it was super bowl 41.5.

It makes it even more fishy since this isn't the first time they've been accused of it. It makes it even worse if the tape, or CD, or whatever they played it from skipped, and you can go back and listen to it, if they release when in the game it happened, and you TiVo'd or DVR'd it.

Unfortunately, I dont have either one of those, so I can't hear it unless it makes its way to YouTube

exactly. Manning got the career stats because he's had a Hall of Fame receiver, maybe 2 of them.

If Brady would have had the Colts receivers, he would be THE best QB of all time.

He's on pace to have more than 200 more yards than Gayton did in '04. 10 more TDs than he did. His passer rating is 10 higher than mannings in 04.

You're on point about Moss/Culpepper. Randy Moss had Dante looking like a God, but really, he was a Dog throwing to one of the GOATs (throwing to 2 of them for a couple of years, with Chris Carter)

The Noles got B.C. It was a good look. But they still lost to Miami. They will get demolished by the Gators. Come on homey. I see you still holdin on to hope, like a true fan should. But let's be realistic here.

B.C. was undefeated in the All Coochie Conference. Same way Ohio State is undefeated in the Big 10. First decent non conference game they play, they'll get ate up. Write that down. LSU will handle OSU. Oregon will handle OSU

Paid to see American Gangster on Friday.

A very safe picture. Nothing memorable in either direction whether positive or negative.

So no really bad hamming it up performances yet no material to push the performers beyond just looking cool.

A flick just coasting and playing it safe.

I'll tell you what, though. I've never been to the movies and seen such a diverse crown like this.

Wannabe thugged out youngins.

Latinos.

Really old white husbands and wives.

Wild Black kids.

Cliff and Claire Huxtable type black parents who won't look at you.

Shit was crazy.
I was confused as shit.

Is this the Denzel effect?

Either way, the flick was still just safe.

but overall the movie was not the best gangster flick by a long shot. we all had our lists of the G.O.A.T.

but i think ur right on point BP 1, it was a safe gangster flick. and that can be frustrating for fans, to say the least, whether it applies to music, film, etc.

but i thought Denzel was a G for telling Frank Lucas that he wasn't looking to glorify him by doing the movie tho. and even considered not taking the role, i saw him say that in an interview. a man of principles...mmm, sexy. ;)

They don't have to give him a Headcoach spot off the bat, he could start off in the Secondary and see how it works from there.

@Gawga, I know Bigslim disagrees with me, but I think Manning is the best QB in the NFL.  That's my opinion, yeah he doesn't have as many rings but I like his intelligence and numbers.

People forget, Manning make receivers!, Wayne and Harrison wouln'dt be as good if they were on another squad.

If any one remembers, the Colts were hot garbage until Manning stepped his game up.

Brady needs a team around him to flourish, yeah his receivers werent top notch but he has a balanced team and always have.

That's just my opinion...but while we bullshitting, watch out for "Vince sanity"
Vince Young (with some experience) will be the new hot shit...that's my word.

With American Gangsta, I dont think it was s'posed to be a typical gangsta flick, with the violence and gore.

It was a true story, most real life events arent typical of Hollywood movie scripts.

That's why they modify the real life events and compact them into a movie to make it seem more entertaining.

If it was all fake then I'm sure it would've been "Training Day" material.

But it was this mans life and a depiction of what happened within those 8 years or so.

I think it did good by not glorifying the lifestyle and showing that even he got popped and snitched.

That one special agent was crazy, "Jake" (that's oldskool shit lol jake) was getting paid off them cats.

@518p aka "Mr Idea"

You mentioned something about AHH creating a section to broadcast what the artists do in their communities.  I agree with that.  We got to definitely promote and broadcast more of the good going on out here.  I know for me personally, I get more motivated when I see more stuff like that.  Helps me to not feel like all this shit gone be over soon.  We really do push too much of the negative stuff in this society.  How can we expect any different then the status quo?

As far as the American Gangster movie.  I think it was interesting and all that.  I kept feeling like a lot of it was under developed though.  Like they tried to fit so much in a short time frame so we get the microwave version of his story.  A lot of the cast were just like fillers too.  But whatever, aint too many real masterpieces anymore.  We live in a time where theres more sizzle than steak...

I think its the other way around. Manning is good, but not God. Harrison and Wayne make him look better as much if not more than he makes them look better. You can't take away Harrison's precise route running. Any QB in the league should be able to hit a WR when they're open, and he's always open.

Look at it the other way around..

Brady was throwing to Troy Brown and Deion Branch, and made them look respectable. Then he was throwing to Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney and would have went to the super bowl if Caldwell didn't drop that ball in the AFC champ game last year.

As far as Deion Sanders, I would hire him, and let him work his way up..As far as the other coaches, they were more in the mental side of the game. Not saying Deion is stupid, but there's no evidence he had to apply a strategy in covering anyone. He was physically superior to everyone he played against.

my bad homey..I aint mean to skip your question..

But Big Ben is showing that he can win games, not just manage them. they have a new Offensive Coordinator who likes to throw the ball down field, and thats letting him shine

Vince Young is the truth, but he needs at least 1 semi-respectable option to throw to before he really wins anything. He's got the Titans 6-2 based on natural ability alone. Him and Lendale White wont be able to carry the team throughout the playoffs alone

Jay Cutler is still really rough around the edges but has the arm to develop in to something serious. He needs a number 1 receiver too.

I would like to see Philip Rivers get some help at WR too. And not Chris Chambers in the 1 slot. I'm not buyin that one.

And one more...honestly, I think Alex Smith could turn some heads, but the 9ers got turned around this year. They were improved a lot last year, and I expected it to continue, but he got hurt, Frank Gore hasn't been doin shit, and they gave up Brandon Lloyd, who was their best WR

@Big Slim, my bad I took so long to respond (to your bullshit, lol) My partner and I just opened up a new club and its takin up all my time. As for the Wes Welker comment, Come on now you of all people I didn't expect to go there with the career stat shit. Stokely has been in the L since 99. Wes Welker has been in since 2004 and didn't see time as a Wide out til 05, and this is Welker's first yr havin a good QB to throw to him. So your comparin a guys career stats who had Payton Manning throw to him for 4 yrs to a guy who had Gus Frerotte and Joey Harrington throwin to him for 2. Your supposed to be my goto guy for sports Slim, Lol. And I don't care what anyone says, Payton Manning is a better QB than Brady IMO.

@Gawga, Good points about the secondary, but when you gettin a pass rush like they Giants have, it makes your secondary that much better due to the fact the QB has less time to react. You're right though, maybe I am jumpin the gun. And McNabb is a major let down. One thing we all can agree on is that this will be fun to watch pan out.

@518, what it do Big Brother? Lol. I agree with you about Payton making WR's look better than they are. Slim is just a hater. It must go back to those old SEC days. I mean look at how good Payton made Stokely look. And Marvin Harrison is streaky. He's no where near Randy Moss skill level, I don't care how tall whoever is. Moss could be the best WR ever if we're talkin skill and knowledge.

We played that team every year. We're in the same district and we never beat em when I played. But back to Lloyd, he won the State Champ. in the High Jump 2 or 3 times.

I can't agree with you on that brotha..Manning might not have had the defense that Brady had but his offensive threats are light years over what Manning has had in his career..You can't compare the backs that Indy had opposed to NE or their receivers..Manning always had the better offensive threats but Brady had the better overall team..The only place i'd give NE the edge on offense over the last 6 years is maybe at tight end but they are neck and neck now at that position..I don't think Manning would be able to carry the Packers if he was their quaterback like Favre is..Manning is a great qb on a great team and sometimes those stats are somewhat deceiving..I know Slim is going to hate this but look at the Gators qb's in the NFL over the years..

@ butrflygrl

I think it could be a nice mix because all of them bring a totally different sound to the music..If they get a producer that's going to give them nice mellow beats about grown folks topics they'll be okay..All of them catz can sing..LSG was straight with two singers and Keith Sweat..Lmao...He got a good ear for music but he's not a strong singer at all..

I saw K-Ci and Jo-Jo a few years back in Orlando at a lil club and it was K-Ci's bday. The nigga got so drunk and high he started pulling off his clothes and shit on stage..I don't know what that nigga was on but he was out of it..

@ BigSlimFL

I think he pretty intelligent when it comes to coverages..He had God given talent but at the same time he had to know where to be on certain plays and he had to know how to pick the holes he ran through on kickoffs and punt returns..If he's intelligent enough to mentor Devin Hester and help him get to where he's at he's definitely worthy of at least running a defense..Just let somebody else teach them how to tackle..lmao

as far as the QB argument.

You're in the super bowl, down 5 with 2 minutes left. Who you takin? Manning or Brady? (it's a trick question: the real answer is whoever has Vinatieri)

but nah, I take Brady. Dude's a winner. Peyton has 1 ring. So does Trent Dilfer. So does Brad Johnson. Kurt Warner has more than peyton.

I'm just sayin.

and Marvin is streaky? He's only had over 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns for the last 8 years.

and I recant my statement about Wes Welker and Brandon Stokely after reviewing the Joey Harrington factor

Wes Welker = Brandon Stokely

I think they're the same person.

i feel what u sayin about the movie. i just didn't feel satisfied. it wasn't all about the action or nothing. it just felt like something was missing throughout the whole thing.

i found it irritating this cat Frank Lucas brought his country bumpkin ass family to be his back up/crew. talk about taking a risk. but i realize that he had no choice, they were the ones he felt he could trust. but that was a bad move imo. they didn't have enough game for me.

and that is so true, if that album cover was real, Wayne might ass well just kill his self right now! LMAO

and he do look like a gay ass Homey Da Clown w/dreads! that was an extra good one!

@HP
how r u? we ain't been choppin it up lately. but u took the thoughts right outta my head re: American Gangster.

i damn sho ain't got it like that to be making rich fools no richer, specially if i can't get a guarantee that the product is worth my money. ain't nothing worse than spending hella movie at the show and coming out like, "that shit was alright" or even worse "that shit was hella weak!" feelin like u just got got. i'm tryna conserve $ too.

i agree:

mos def. the story was underdeveloped

T.I. = filler (cute, but still filler)

def. "whatever" cause like u said the masterpieces are few and far between these days.

@junegemini
i know, right? album cover was hella funny. plus with the concert, that's what i'm talkin bout: who wants to see Ashanti live? puhleeeze. she ain't bout to be bustin my ear drums with them off key ass notes!

***side note (@BP 1): Katt Williams is also coming this way and i know that it must be a mistake cause it said that the tix are only $10. if that's true i'ma be there, in the front too. so he can talk shit about me! LOL

@Handsome_Rob
i know Dalvin seemed to just be there for looks, cause he was xtra sexy. he didn't have to do nothing but stand there and move his lips to the words occasionally. altho i've heard people say that he was a great producer.

even tho me and JoJo were truly in love, i must confess that i crept on him quite a few times with Dalvin! LMAO don't trip men do it all the time! sike just kidding y'all! i'm just talkin' shit!  ;)

i saw them for the last time live in 2000 and they were still singing beautifully.

dang i miss Jodeci...i tried to hold on for as long as i could cause they were my favorite group of all time, ever since i was 14. but i finally just let go after K-Ci & JoJo released "X."

then all those terrible performance clips been all over the web. so disappointing, i can't defend them with a str8 face anymore. so sad. :(

Javon Walker? Thats like saying the Raiders have Jerry Porter. He's aight. But nothing special by any means. A solid 2 receiver at best.

Vernon Davis is a TE..gotta have more than a TE to win.

Philip Rivers was real solid last year, and the whole Chargers team came out slow this year, and it rattled P Rivers. His year isn't a total loss, but again Gates is a TE, you can only throw to him so many times before teams figure out that you're not gonna throw to anyone besides

What up Dboy, I'm see we are eye to eye on this one...

Maybe everyone else is forgeting who the Colts were.

The Colts sucked prior to Peyton being on the team and they didn't start winnin till after his rookie year.

Also everyon think Marvin Harrison is so great that he can stand without Peyton.

Prior to Peyton starting Harrison never had double digit td's nor did you surpass 1000 yards receiving, He played for 3 seasons prior to manning.

Peyton has never thrown for less than 4000 yards and 26 td's in his career (actualy he threw for less than 4k twice and one was his rookie yearand the other was 3800) and is on track to own every NFL QB record.
Harrison has never caught less than 10 td's since Peyton.

You guys talk about teams?
Peyton has never had the Romeo's and the Charlie Weis or Hoodie wearing head coach.

Tom Brady is great no doubt, but in comparasing to Peyton I don't know if he's better.

Brady has only thrown for over 4000 yards once, Peyton does it every season.

Brady only has 24k yards he has only played 2 years less than Peyton
Peyton has almost 40k yards

That's over 15k in two years more of playing...do the math, that's 7500 yards passing for the two years.

Tom Brady has 180 td's
Peyton has 289...do tha math
109 td's in two years is 54.5 a year

Brady has never had a QB rating over 100.00 till this year,
Peyton hasn't been below 100.00 since 03'

You can say Peyton has the better Offense, but it they were so special why didn't The colts beat them all the time?

Alot of it is the whole team and not just offense, Defense and special teams helps Quarterbacks out alot.
Also a good OC and DC wouldn't be bad either.

Tom Brady has the Hype of the Super Bowl and if he didn't no one would even consider him as being that Great.

Peyton was considered Great prior to winning the super bowl!

By the way Fuck the Colts...Big Up tha Titans.

I don't know about Chad J. I think he might be milkin that injury a little bit because of how bad the Bengals are. I think if they were 6-2 and not 2-6, he would have been back on the field. He made the team flight home and there was no damage from x rays and MRIs..I think it might be his pride that's scuffed up

I hope I'm wrong because that's the worst thing you can do as a teammate, but I dont know...somethin's tellin me he's not all that hurt

Tom Brady's on pace to throw for 58 this year. Times 2 is 116 > 109

as far as the offensive coordinator, Peyton has one of the GOATs, and has been the only O coordinator he's had since he's been in the league, Tom Moore. The Pats are looking better now than they ever have and Romeo Crenel and Charlie Weis are nowhere to be found. Dungy's no scrub, either.

tell me who has the higher winning percentage? In the regular season? In the playoffs, where it really counts?

Super Bowls are where Great Quarterbacks are separated from the Really good ones. One Super Bowl would be a fluke. More than one, especially when you're the MVP in 2 of 3 means you're somethin special.

that list was receivers better than Javon Walker, not my ranking of the best WRs in the league. But yeah, Terry Glenn is a 2 receiver, so is TJ Houshmanzedah, and Isaac Bruce, and Anquan Bolden, and Dante Stallworth but they're all better than Javon Walker, who's supposed to be a 1 receiver.

That Jabbar Gaffeny shit wasn't supposed to be in the middle of the list..my bad it was supposed to be at the end of the post.

It's not fixed. If it was, there wouldn't be any last second, walk off FGs or 1 play Over Times, or the Lions dropping 44 on the Broncos, or all the upsets.

The patriots have always had that name, and they haven't always been good.

Americans are band waggoners, and fair weather fans for the most part. They'll root for who's winning. If the Houston Texans start winning super bowls, they'll be America's team. Same way it was the Steelers in the 70s, 49ers in the 80s and the Cowboys in the 90s.

It's the same reasons fans started rooting for the Red Sox in '05, once they won the world series. They weren't sayin shit when they were down 0-3 in the ALCS. Because they want to say they rooted for the underdog. But really, they want to root for the realistic underdog. The team who has a chance to do something, but is in the middle of the pack. Same reason people got caught up in rooting for the Rockies this year. But then, there are a solid number of fans who ride that team, once they start winning like they were born rooting for that team. If you watch Boston games on ESPN classic from the early 2000s and before, you'll see the true Red Sox fans. Not anymore. It's all pink hat wearing girls and frat boys. It makes real Red Sox fans sick to their stomachs. It makes me sick to my stomach, because I know those same people would be going to Yankee games if the Yankees would have won the world series in 04.

AP is on pace for just over 2000...and he definitely could do it.

Brady has the weakest division THIS year. Historicaly look at the Colts division. The Jags have always been what they are this year. Solid, but not a REAL threat. The Titans go through their spurts, just like the Jets do, and the Texans are worse than the Dolphins every year 'cept this one.

And you best believe I got Bradshaw near the top of my all time list. No need to google it. He's got 4 of them muhfuckers just like Montana. He's gets slept on all day and all night.

yo fizz, I didn't watch the jay-z vid on letterman

but I did watch the satanic connection thing on youtube.

a couple of things.

I'm bout to dig in a lil.
like old times.

first things first: there is no satan.

least in the conventional/mythological/anton lavey sense.

wait lemme go back

in fashion right, now like jeans with holes or spraypaint or flat top cuts was the shit back in the day the whole skulls and gothic look is the jump off right now.

check for the brand "ChromeHearts".

Get you some fly chromehearts shots, a chromehearts belt, a chromehearts bracelet a pair of joey True religions or some adriano goldschmieds and a junkfood tee or a cashmere hoodie from Fred Segal and you speakin the silent shallow language to the chicks that says "offer your pussy to me".

so as a dude who's on the cusp of fashion, I could understand why he'd be rocking something from chrome hearts skulls. or the like.

Alright and onto the wild satanic/rapper videos and claims.

it's so much bullshit out there.

and people ain't got no problem feeding that shit to you like soylent green.

but yo, game recognize game.

first in order to be in line with that shit, you gotta accept that there is a "satan" in the ground with red skin and a pitchfork.

nobody here really believes that shit.

second you gotta accept religious texts literally.

again, another fool's mistake.

and deeply... naw I'm not gonna talk about what satanism is.

I'll just quote ghostface killah from goodtimes.

"what if the bible wasn't good..."

But think about the structured thinking that organized religion creates and think about freedom of thought.

and what would be the most vile name that you call someone who threatens the way of life that you are trying to institute with religion?

what are the two biggest weapons in the fear/scare machine known as organized religion?

1. hell
2. satan

sure old fanatics may say us young kids are listening to the "devil's music" but go back a couple of centuries or millenia and think of those who got burned at stakes for having free thought.

what do you think they were called?

====
but yo, no doubt indirectly jay-z sold us out by not using his power of influence to spark positivity in our hoods.

You know where I'm at on that. I can go on an' on an' on an' with that.

but calling a rapper or anyone a satanist only serves to cloud our thinking.

the game is wide and all encompassing...
tread carefully.
==
but yo 'scuse me for a minute while go see if geek squad fixed my computer.

Love Oakland

A place
once filled with nothing but
Oak
Trees. Where the Black Panthers
Rose up and
Regulated these ghetto streets.
Bringing free lunch
To the kids and black studies
To our CCs.
Ain’t never gave a second thought to
Other’s opinions of my city.

No matter where I go,
That’s where my heart resides.
My interpretation of reality
Is based on Oakland mentality,
In the same way that the moon
controls the tides.
I’m from the Town,
Ain’t no denyin’ that.
Been a witness to it all:
From death to drugs
To poverty and pain.
Daily struggle to keep from
Losing my focus, trying hard as hell
To maintain.

I done ran away
ON these streets.
Tryin’ to
Find my own way.
Down for whatever,
No thought of or hope for
The possibility of better days.
Ran away searching
For some some joy,
Acceptance, and connection.
Shit,
I found it too. But
It was the kind that leads to
Self-destruction.

I done even ran away
FROM these streets.
Attempting to provide shelter from
And protection for our seed.
Hopin’ he’d never
Recreate the former existence
Of me and my king.
Ran away searching for peace,
Harmony, and positivity.
Shit,
All I found was
A love for where I’m from
And where I need to be.

Ain’t no city like Oakland,
Ain’t no better place for me.
From my days as a young girl,
Those sunshine filled memories,
With my third eye, still
I can see.
Way before crack hit the scene,
Turning so many of our role models
Into little more than zombies.
My days as a teen,
Those hardcore 90s,
Claimin’ our turf gave us a clear idea
About our agreed upon identities.
Where we was going
And where we was coming from.
Or so we thought.
Back then I know I never considered
All I that I could actually become.

Hmm-
Funny how that happens
Out here, all the damn time.
Too many dreams deferred and
Potentials never reached.
Sometimes you can see,
But in reality you’re blind.
Yet and still,
This is my home from the flatlands
To the hills.
From the North to the West to the East
And back.
Only soldiers hail from the Town,
Now that’s a well known fact.
They can say what they want,
It don’t matter to me
None.
I’m gonna maintain my pride
For my home and encourage the youngstas
To become
All that they should and all that they can.
I’ve exceeded my expectations, so
I’ma give back
To my beautiful
city of Oakland.

@ Jay not being positive in the hood...

Hold on y'all. First and foremost, that's not his responsibility as an artist, entertainer, rapper, or President of a company. I fully understand the "Give back to the Hood." motto, but that's like telling Bill Gates or Donald Trump to give back to the suburbs.

They didn't do nothing for them. In life we all make our way off the deficiency of others. You have to be better and make wise decisions off the next man's mistakes.

I watched "Hip-Hop In America" on BET where they had some columnists, writers, and rappers discussing Hip-Hop influence on the show. I sat and watched Nelly and T.I. say that it's not their responsibility to raise peoples kids and that they're just expressing themselves in their music. That's fine, but what, just because Hov made his way to over half a Billy he has to build new project buildings, a new ball court, and a new rec center for the hood?

Nah, cuz it's going to end up just like the old ones. Niggas love to complain about how they struggle, and how hard it is to get out the hood, and what they want, but what they fell to realize is that it's HARD FOR EVERYONE. YOU HAVE TO WORK TO GET WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE. Niggas talking about how hard school is...Nigga please, it's not that hard to get an A in high school.

Niggas think the shit is gonna be easy, trying to be hard, trying to be cool. Then they go a punk the cool bruhs who got the grades, and them white boys in school, then be mad when they come into McDonald's and them same guys are the managers. (McD's managers make $30k+/yr)

Man fuck the hood. The hood ain't shit. Ain't never gonna be shit, and never was shit. The only thing the hood is, is filled with ignorance, selfishness, and death. That's why the state doesn't even try to waste it's money trying to up keep it. Niggas don't have any respect or organization. Like what kinda logic is it to shoot a nigga over a different colored shirt, or because they're on "your block". That shit's retarded. And I've been in the hood, so don't knock me. I grew up in the North and South ends of the Projects, been in gang fights, and all that. But I realized how retarded it was and hit the books.

I earned my shit. My car, my degree, my gear. I didn't ask for it and I sure as hell didn't wait for someone to give it to me. I worked the system and took it... legally.

Hov has been a smart dude. He was talkin about Tax Write Offs in Reasonable Doubt. I'll bet that 80% of the niggas who claim they hustle, haven't even seen the forms, let alone heard of it.

GawgaBoy knows what I'm talking about. Holla at em dawg.

You can't hold it against them when the team around them is good.

You can hold them accountable for the success when the team around them is bad, because they obviously bring the team to another level. Like LeBron did last year.

oh, and I don't think there was a salary cap back then, thats why they were so stacked.

How can you judge how good they are when they are playing with guys that will make them look good no matter what? Look at the point I made about Culpepper..He was one of the top 3 quarterbacks for at least a couple of the years Moss was there..Moss left and what happened to his career..I know injuries played a part too but who he was throwing the ball to did as well..Bottom line is Montana didn't make the guys around him better..They made him look better..He was an average qb playing with great players..He's not even the greatest San Francisco QB in my opinion..It's just my opinion but I'd take Steve Young in his prime any day over Montana..

Do you honestly think Magic would've been as great if he would've had to carry more of the load? Don't get me wrong he was all around talented but it's a difference in him going to LA rather than going to a situation in which they were in the rebuilding process..It's like the difference in playing in Phoenix opposed to Minnesota as a point guard...I ain't taking nothing away from Magic because he did set people up lovely with his assists but he was passing to Kareem, Cooper, Byron Scott and Worthy..That's a top 5 center of all time, top 10 power forward along with two of the best wing men of their time..

Also, it makes no sense for us to claim something that's not ours in the first place..We see how easy it is to just uproot us like a tree and re-plant us where ever they choose..They treating us like they did the Native Americans back in the day..

Money ain't even an issue with me pimpin..Knowledge is the key to everything..You can give a nigga a million dollars out the hood who ain't use to money and he'll blow that shit so fast it'll be ridiculous..But teach that nigga how to make his own money and invest it properly and in 20 years he'll have more than the nigga that got that million up front..But real talk the hood ain't been the hood since the early to mid 80's..

Speaking of...

Surrrealist dude made some aight points about the hood and all that.  The only part I dont agree on is the whole fuck the hood movement and the whole Jay Z dotn gotta give back move.  Its all our duties as niggas who come up out of the hood to do our share and give back to that motherfucka.  Just cause the whites start accepting you and shit dont mean you gotta snuff where you from.

Dont get me wrong, i aint the type dude thats gone sit here and try to make the hood sound peachy and glorify it and all.  But i aint gone say fuck it either.  The hood raised me.  Niggas gettin eduatiuon and money and start looking down on they peoples.  I got two educations.  This white man education and hood education.  The hood education is the closest thing I got to a culture since Africa nigga.

If you say fuck the hood, then you saying fuck the culture and fuck hip hop.

And the culture will say fuck you back homie.  You cant get uppidy and then forget where you come from.  I hate niggas like that.  Like 80 percent of the issues in the hood are tehre due to the Willie Lynch effect.

If any race of people go thru that shit our ancestors went thru, it would take them time to regain their consciousness, regroup, and get they shit right.

The Jews had extreme support from America (aka the country that owe us the most), to get them back on they feet after the holocaust.

We the only ones that got shitted on and still get shitted on following our situation.

We got to one ourselves and respect ourselves.

Imma criticize the hood on a lot of shit they need to get better.  But like hip hop, I wont turn my back on it.

I feel you..I just don't think you can take it all away from Montana and say he was just average. Montana was basically done before I really started watching football..I was only 8 or 9 when he retired, so it's the same for Magic..but I know that the team was built around Montana. If you look at his college career, all he did was win, and lead comebacks.  Same with the pros.

But Steve Young was a beast. I think if he wouldn't have got hurt he would have gone down as the GOAT. The Bucs fucked that one up.

It's all about being clutch. Every team in the NFL can win every week. They really can. The probability of one team beating another might not be very high, but it's possible. It's all about stepping up when it's time to, and Joe Montana did that. I really haven't sat down and actually thought about who my Top 5 QBs of all time would be, so I won't put anyone as the number one guy or not.

on south park they just got done with a trilogy of episodes about terrorists attacking our imagination. Well, at the end of it, the government nukes our imagination, and the whole screen turned white and I thought for sure the creators were about to hop on screen and say somethin like well, the government has ruined our imagination, so no more show. But thankfully that didn't happen

I know season 1-at least 10 of South Park are on DVD and Season 1 of Boondocks is on DVD, but they're all pretty expensive..That boondocks joint is somethin like $50..best to bootleg them bitches lol

@ ya future father

I can't really get in to anime like that, it just never really did it for me. My old roommate used to love that shit though. He had all the DVDs Full Metal Alchemist, and a bunch of shit from Japan that he had to watch with subtitles and what not

i dig it homey. we on the same page. when this nigga say fuck the hood i hear fuck our people. jayz ti nelly all are responsible for our people me too. thats why the shit eats a nigga up inside sometime. thats why earlier i said we all sold our souls for money at one point or another. thats why i like getting on here building with brothers cause i get to disscuss subjects i wouldnt normally touch on. i seen kids in baltimore playing out side with no shoes on their feet so when i hear a blackman say fuck the hood it get mad as hell. naw b never fuck the hood.

i just got into it with a nigga i came up with cause he refer to the young brothers on his block as his kids cause he say the parents dont take care of them but he aint guiding them right. i know we doing fucked up shit in the hood but niggas is trying to get free. niggas went from playing hooky and playing ball str8 to hustling. any man only gonna do what he know. so we get caught up between a rock and a hard place. i dont knock no man on how he survive. shit be hard to explain or to justify.
bust how when i meet a girl down south i tell em i dont wanna meet their family they think iam anti social. but the first time i went to a girl house in the south her parents started asking questions i wasnt able answer. i never had to answer those type of question up north in the south the family structure is strong. thats why we see certain subjects in different ways.

Yea, I feel you homebwoy..My parents was 15 when they had me and I grew up on the southside of Chicago before moving to Ga..But it don't matter where you was at when the crack epidemic hit..Everybody had somebody in their family that was on it and somebody selling it..They might not have been directly around it but it was close enough for you to see a lot of money and a lot of strung out young, middle age and old folks out there bad..But see the thing is if we dwell on the past too much and all the wrongs that was done to us we can't move forward..You can't run a race and steady trying to look behind you to see what's going on back there..People either move with you or without you or you'll end up killing yourself trying to carry all that dead weight..I was grinding at 13 and smashing old chicks at the same age so I grew up kind of fast and I always hung out with older cats..I learned a lot but I wish I could've had that time back to be a normal kid..When in you grow up hard and fast in them streets you give up on your goals a lot earlier as well..If the hood started investing back into each other the way these other races are then things would be a lot different..Hopefully, one day soon we'll get back on that level so we can keep our money circulating amongst our own and start building from within..

first things first: there is no satan.
============================

First of all I would like to commend you on being a very intelligent and well spoken black man.  But for you to make an ingornorant statement like that is crazy.  You haven't been educated on the spirtiual side of this life.

If you believe their is no Satan;  I challenge you to write 666 on your walls in your room or get a ink pen and write 666 on your hand before you go to sleep.  And while your at it, call on Satan {out loud} and his demons/fallen angels, to come and visit you tonight.  And tell me about your experience the next day or so.  If you don't have any kind of experience with an evil force tonight, just leave the 666 on your wall for a week.  And lets see how many visitors you will have throughout the week.

If your not willing to do this then I just pulled your card!

7th seal

?????????????????????????

Yo you buggin 7th
I know you have your opinion and all that's fine, Blackpeeps1 has his and we know you and I differ on this topic also.

But have you ever heard of Theology?
There is reason behind every statement whether it's candor or a lie.

You need to do research on the topics that you speak about out of the Bible.
Things may not be what they seem.

It may help you get a better understanding of GOD.

The Devil doesn't exist the way you think.
You should really do some serious research in to the book of Revelations.

I know alot about it and the information behind what was said in it.

I'll cut it short cuzz I can go at this all day
But that 666 that you talking about?

That everybody loves to qoute from?

isnt what you may think it wasn't to be taken literally

It's from "Hebrew Gematria"....you can look it up if you like
But 666 in translation is (NRWN QSR)...that is the name of Nero Ceasar (Im sure you know who that is)

The Book of Revelation was meant to be more of an uplifting text to his people.  That one day they evil (Romans) would be punished.

The Armeggedon that he talks about is a battle field that more wars have been fought on than any in history.  And it still exist in Isreal to this day...

Armegeddon is a mis-translation of  "Har-Magedon"

Har-Magedon is in Isreal

Im just saying 7th you should not just read the bible word for word but look into the historical meaning of things.

I used to be religious till I started doing that, Now I believe in GOD and nothing else....including man made religion.

@ Fizzroy / Hood Prophet

My brotha, you're lost. While your subject matter is somewhat correct, your angle is off. Money, my dude, is the root of all evil, yet it's the root of all love as well. I grew up mostly in Steubenville, OH. It's a small steel city mostly known here for it's High School Football program. The population is about 25,000 and it's literally separated into classes, or at least it was. Downtown is where all the drama was, the Hill was where the middle class working people lived, and above that was where the whiteys lived. People I grew up with, were dying day by day and it got worse when some pushers from the Chi set up shop in the city. The Ville is a place where most born there, die there. It's no Chi, no BK, no Detroit, no Bankhead, but a bullet is a bullet anywhere you go. Cane and Heroin are killing that place. But my family, who's generations before them were born there, got us out of that mess.

I've never been rich bruh. I've got Sallie Mae all in my ass (no homo) with student loans. I'm raising my 1yr old daughter too. I'm not trying to pronounce myself better than anyone but y'all are stuck in a way of thinking as if you <i>have</i> to love the Hood. Bruh the Hood hasn't done anything for you. You learn the rules of engagement. How to survive, how to harden, what cars to look out for, etc. Which is fine, but, I appreciate all lessons of these streets, but they only teach you how to interact with niggas in a nigga-filled environment. Bruh, being a nigga isn't anything to be proud of, neither is having the mentality.

There's a difference between niggas and black people. It's a sad truth, but every race, not just us could claim they have a genre of their people that they shun. Trailer trash, Hicks, Rednecks, Spics, Beaners, Chinks, etc. There's a lot of it everywhere. Like I know a lot of my Puerto Rican bruhs don't like Mexicans. Matter of fact it's to the degree of hate. Why? They say they don't speak the language properly and that they're dirty. Do we all know that for sure? Nah, but it is what it is.

Like Gawga said, it's what you do with the knowledge you retain. The only thing the hood was meant for was to kill you. Like concentration camps in the Nazi era or Reservations for Native Americans. I mean what is it about the Hood that you love so much? I mean you can have a crew in any environment. You can play ball in any environment. Being "hard" doesn't get you anywhere in life. So what if you can fight nigga? So what if you're not scared to bust? If you're so bold, go join the Military. You about that paper right? You can see the world and kill people for $25,000 a pop. I bet Bill Gates can't fight to save his life, but he could buy the hood many times over.

Being Black is what we should be proud of. Our strength comes from that. Our soul power. Our will. Our perseverance. To survive the Hood and leave is a triumph. To survive the Hood and stay is suicide. Then what, in 5 years after you die, if your squad gets jailed or offed, then what mark in this world have you left? Albeit a small one else where, ain't no hood nigga ever changed nothing about anything being a hood nigga. You have to grow as a person and realize there's more to being Black than being hood.

Seems like you do somewhat though. I've got hood niggas in my family. I love them just the same. Do I agree with what they do? Nah. Because I've also got Doctors and Lawyers in my family. I've also got hard workers in my family. And the pitch to me was, "You can be smart and grind the books or you can be ignorant and grind the street." Every hustle isn't a success story my brotha. It really would behoove some of these niggas to actually <i>TRY</i> to finish high school or goto college. And we're all human beings. Anybody can do it. If they can work within the rules of the hood, hustle, no the differences between different types of bags, tops, how many Os they can get from a Key, and how much they profit from it. That's called Business Ethics bruh. If they can apply it in the hood, then they could do it in an office.

I believe in Black people. But undoubtedly, ignorance is bliss for a lot of niggas. I'm not mad at anyone for surviving. But, if you see that what you're doing isn't taking you anywhere, without  risking your life or livelihood, then you're doing something wrong.

Don't get it twisted either. Hip-Hop was never about the hood until the mid 90s and it existed way before then. I'm only 22, but I've schooled myself on the greats of Hip-Hop. I've two great grandmothers one is 87 and the other is soon to be 97. I learned a LOT from them. I did my digging and found out about where we REALLY came from. The Willie Lynch effect is only going because niggas are always trying to get over on other niggas. They're no unity. Not because some white guy said you had to act that way. You see another nigga looking at you on the block and it's automatic grounds to stomp his ass. Ain't no white guy teach you that. You see another dude hustling, trying to "survive" on your block or corner and it's automatic grounds to cap his ass. Niggas are ass backwards. Then when the Black folks come in and say, y'all are doing this, this, and that wrong, but here's what you should do, the immediate response is "Fuck that uppity nigga, that shit ain't gonna work for me." Which is a contradictory in itself. Some claim they want help but won't do what's necessary to get it. It should be "Help Me, Help You, Help Yourself." but instead it's "Help Me, Fuck You."

My brotha, the Hood <b>IS</b> the white man's education. It tells you have to live in a slum, and you're going to die by the time you're 24. You have to be illegal to get by. You have to struggle. You have to always want more but never get it. You won't get a career, a job maybe, and when you get old and you have no retirement check coming in, you'll die at an early 65 or so with no foundation left to your immediate loved ones.

Remember that education started in Africa. The first college, the first books. Africa. To have knowledge of the world, is OUR knowledge. That's why they grow up learning 4-6 languages and come here with 2-3 Master's Degrees that get discredited.

Remember that Hip-Hop is an outlet for what we see and feel. Just because we started it, doesn't mean that everyone lives it. Hip-Hop is Art, as Art imitates life. And just like pen to paper, some people just don't have it. But it's not just us, people in Europe and Japan LOVE Hip-Hop. I've seen Eminem and Jin destroy people. Though the Hood maybe the Madison Square Garden of Hip-Hop, that doesn't mean it's not played else where.

Be strong as you were,
Be stronger tomorrow,
Black People

Before I couldnt even finish reading your post, I realized that you had already missed my point.

I wouldnt in my write mind represent the place called the hood.  Its not the place at all that I feel strong about.  i dont disagree with your thoughts of the hood being like a concentration camp for our people.  I think thats a good anology.  I no longer live in the hood.  Everybody in they right mind should be striving to get out of that place that was created to keep them in the slave mentality.

With that said homie, its the people their that I have love for.  The people who bleed, eat, shit, and feel just like you and I.  I grew up in the same environment and circumstances that they are currently in.

It took people to have special interest in me and believe in me for me to make it out of that death trap.  If those same people said fuck the hood and gave up on some of my peers and I, then I wouldn't be here in the shape and mentality I am in to converse back and forth with you.

Its so much talent in the hood (educationally and otherwise), that if given the proper chance could be successful.  But just like the apathy you show, other adults, teachers, the government, and even their own parents dont care.  Dont put believe in them.

These kids didnt ask to be born in the situations they are in, those situations were imposed on them.  They are born into a slave mentality and limit chance of success.  How fair is that?

And on top of it all, their successful counterparts dont give a fuck about them.  They separate themselves from them.

We, my friend, are only as strong as our weakest links.  They had so much help to get in the fucked up situation they are in.  With the factors in mine, how could they really be in any of a different situation.  Dont forget, we are all former slaves.  How long do you think it takes to shed a past like that?  Should we be born with ambition and self confidence?  Knowing that a lot of the systems that were set in place to have us in slavery are still active.

The same criminal justice system

Divide and conquer technique

Concentration Camps/ The Hood

Strategic Whitening process

ETC.

Did you watch bamboozled my man?

No matter how you try to distance yourself, shun, or whatever you do to make yourself feel better about be connected to these people.  You gotta look in the mirror boy boy!  As long as your skin is that color, you are connected to the struggle.  And if your dont realize it, dont worry, in some way or another your will be victimized because of it.

what's up wit it? i saw ur comment from yesterday and just had to respond. and everything u just stated is real talk 2.

co-sign all that to the death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could never turn my back on the hood, even tho i consciously attempt to live a righteous life. i dedicate myself to the betterment of my community and the "youfs" (as BP 1 says) LOL

many people believe that u have to make a choice: it's either stay hood and be ignorant or turn ur back because ur intelligent. i disagree with that.

but it is a definite extreme challenge NOT to be brainwashed when obtaining them degrees. the mind's eye must be powerful to prevent it.

that's also why it's so necessary for hood folks to get educated: to represent this to other hood folks. set an example and raise awareness. u r a powerful threat when u have 2 aspects (or more) of knowledge vs. one or the other (street vs. school knowledge).

people look at me and don't always consider that i'm from the hood...forever. i've transitioned outta lookin like a hoodrat, but i'll admit i used to when i was younger. so what. but the way i speak naturally (as opposed to professionally), my attitude, etc. are all dead give aways. and i really don't care.

i got a sophisticated look these days, i'm highly educated (but ironically i never graduated from high school), and i'm a professional today. but the truth is i've been a statistic and that's in reference to my life from adulthood (age 16 for me) onward, as well as my childhood.

but i chose to strive, excel, and do the seemingly impossible. that's why i inspire people on a daily. that's why i have a impact on the youngstas who are living the life i lived 10-15 years ago.
people wouldn't believe the struggles that i've been through, shit sometimes looking back, i can't believe it myself.

but i NEVER regret and i'm NEVER ashamed of the past or where i'm from. i embrace that shit and i use it everyday of my life to make a difference in someone else's. that is part of why i love where i'm from soooo much. because i was raised by the hood (like u said) and the hood made me who i am and will always be. cause i made that commitment to myself. despite the pain and struggles, i couldn't be who i am today and i wouldn't have what i have today (and i'm not speaking in terms of materialism) if this were not my destiny.

wanted to say all that to u cause i felt inspired to the fullest when i read ur comment. u know how we do (u & i). all day folks...fa sho.

Most definitely.  Aye, your story does sound inspirational.  Thats whatsup.  One day we gotta chew the fat on our stories tip cause soemtimes I cant believe mine either.  Hell maybe we'll help each other put those stories to paper or something.  Im sure they will help a couple people.  A little bit of my life is featured in two books written by that teacher I talked about on hear in the past as well.  It was a mandatory read for all of the students who were education majors when i was in college.  Matter fact, I know for a fact you would like the books BFG.

Check  I Choose to Stay and The Immortality of influence.  Both written by Salome Thomas El and Cecil Murphy.  A little of my childhood background is in both the books.

I definitely suggest those to you because I think they would motivate you in your line of work.

Im impressed by your ability to overcome your obstacles as well.  And I am definitely surprised to hear about the highschool thing.  Your vocabulary and level of intelligence is on point.  Keep doing what you do.  I definitely wish you the best.
