Hip-Hop Rumors: Rihanna Calls The Cops! Should Jay-Z Retire? Illseed's Dopest Verses!

Yesterday's Rumors! Rihanna Likes Girls? Akon's 4th Fiancee Dips! 50 Hearts Ciara! Lauren London! So much crap, you can't flush it!

JAY-Z AND ITUNES?

I don’t know what’s going on over there. Jay-Z has his whole “this is an audio album” thing with American Gangster. Well, why not sell it on iTunes? I heard that Jay-Z only wanted to sell the album as a whole piece and that’s noble. I also heard a rumor that iTunes may not go towards SoundScan numbers. If that’s the case, I am sure that Jay-Z wants people to go and cop the album so he can break Elvis’ record!

Did you read about it? Jay-Z is set to tie with Elvis in No. 1 albums. But I say break it since Elvis is no longer with us to make No. 1 records. Read the story here.

Hey, help Jay break that record! A win for him is a win for Hip-Hop!

Buy the American Gangster album for $9.99 and cheaper right here!

SHOULD JAY HAVE STAYED RETIRED?

I was reading the paper and they are saying that Jay-Z should have stayed retired. Now, check me out here. I am a Hip-Hop head. I want Jay-Z to kick Elvis’ ass, because I don’t giave a damn about Elvis. Now, with that said, ia also don’t care about sales. In the New York Post they said:

Maybe Jay-Z should have stayed retired. The rapper and president of Def Jam recordings has been breaking his back promoting his new album, "American Gangster," which is "inspired" by the movie. An industry insider says, "He is scrambling - the first single, 'Blue Magic,' isn't being played on radio. It's the first time in his career he's not doing well."

Meanwhile, many Hip-Hop heads like myself are saying that this is arguably his best work since The Blueprint. No, it is NOT a CD that panders to the mainstream and radio, bit artistically, it’s freakin’ hot! I need y’all to talk to me. Please leave all the hate and just conversate!

A couple days ago, Jay-Z hosted a party in Atlanta with appearances by Young Gunz, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Jermaine Dupri, Rick Ross, socialite Kenny Burns and others.

Should Jay-Z Retire or Keep Rapping?
  • Keep Rapping!
  • Retire!
  • Who Cares!

RIHANNA GETS CARRIED AWAY!

No, some dude didn’t pick her up. But Rihanna is asking that. The Sun reports that Ri Ri demanded a police escort to a concert date in Dublin. Ri Ri says that the traffic is way too bad for her to NOT be escorted. What if she was late or something? Well, I also heard it is for security reasons, but no matter the answer is, NO.” I heard they said they will accommodate a bunch of other things, but all the police escort stuff is a no no for Ri Ri.

TOP 20 DOPEST VERSES EVER!

Lookie here. AllHipHop decided to compile a list of the “Top 20 Dopest Verses” in Hip-Hop. Now, most of my picks were NOT chosen and totally disregarded, but I decided to give you my list before everybody is fighting over that other list. Here are mine. Some of them don’t specify a verse, but you get the idea.

MISTAH FAB PLAYS IT SAFE!

You people only care about rap dis wars, but Mistah Fab is doing his social responsible thing and telling kids to chill on the sex stuff!

GANGSTER GRANNY

“Damn who I live with! If you want me, come get me!” Gangsta Granny will bus a cap in ya blue suit a$$! Granny listening to Snoop and Pac! “A massacre…if you f**k with me, that’s what its gonna be.” (Brock, thanks!)

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Rihanna’s rumors don’t stop. Now the 19 year old is dating Josh Hartnett, some actor dude that’s not Black. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I’d like a bit of Affirmative Action with the girl.

The success of “American Gangster” has people talking about a sequel to the movie that Frank built. I wonder what comes next? “Fallen?”

Rocawear cologne is on the way if you didn’t know. Hmmmmm…

You want that new Wu Tang mixtape? Just click here and let the good times roll!

RANDOM QUOTES!

The Resistance, a Christian watchdog group said 50 should retire:

"It is time for 50 Cent to be a man of his word, and retire. The world will be a better place when this satanic piece of filth retires and stops making music."

Don’t do it Common! In the last vibe issue, he said he’s giving it up:

“I need a new fulfillment as an artist. I feel like I can become a bigger actor than I am a rapper. “It’s scary thinking, ‘Damn, if I don’t sell no records, what am I going to do?’ When you haven’t made multimillions in this game, you got to think about what you want to be doing when you’re 50 or 60. I found an art that I really love and it’s infinite.”

In an interview with Atlanta’s Ryan Cameron Show, Bobby Brown commented on Karrine “Superhead” Steffans:

“She is a sick, sick, sick, sick person. She needs help. She really needs help. Somebody needs to... clean her clock out." (Shout out to Boss Up)

Keyshia Cole on hating her Tig Ol’ Bitties:

"My breasts are big - that aggravates me. I can't even wear a button-down shirt without the buttons trying to pop open."

DIDDY MAKES IT TO OPRAH!

With the new scandal at her own African School, I guess Oprah realizes that sexual deviants can pop up anywhere! LOL, even at her own show! Check out Diddy promoting everything, but mostly talking about his new assistant.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

When I didn’t get what I wanted as a kid, I just got mad. I might try a lil’ back talk, but never anything too crazy. My dad would destroy me, but these people have taken things to a new level.

Read this report from thetimesonline:

Like many middle-class, suburban American parents, Shannan and Joey Troiano worried about their son's behavior and his bad grades at high school. And like many wayward teenagers, Cory Ryder was grounded for weeks at a time, had a PlayStation confiscated and was banned from watching TV.

Less typically, this 16-year-old was plotting to murder his parents by hiring a hitman, while his mother was organizing a sting operation involving a police officer posing as a contract killer.

This boy is not on trial. A.I.D.S. America is dying slowly. We better check ourselves!

THE WIRE – SEASON FIVE!

Oh how I love “The Wire.” Here is a preview! This season is going to tackle the media and how urban death isn’t considered news.

THE SPECIAL

Tonight on VH1, they are doing the “Storytellers” special with Jay-Z. Check out some of it right here.

Jay-Z - “I Know”

Jay-Z - “American Dreamin’”

SEMI-ILL PICS

It is getting to the point where pics aren't even ill, because a mug shot ain't nuffin!

Trey looks HEATED! I heard he was a victim of police brutality.

Aunt Viv holds it down out on the beach!

The clean-up woman Lauren London!

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

I Listened to American Gangster a few times... itz definitely a classic and it fits very nicely within Jay's catalog.  I can't say itz in my top 3 (RD, Black Album, THEN Blueprint) but who knows?  give it time!
LET THAT B*TCH BREATHE!

He didnt heavily promote this one like Kingdom Come (wackest album ever) and its better than Blueprint 2, Vol III.

Anyway... Common cain't retire.
Keyshia's tittays are two of her breast, uh best assets.
I remember I met Vivica once.  I thought I was on to somethin.
Then the next week? Nah man, it was nuthin.

Morning hip hop heads!

-Jay-z and radio play. this album isnt that radio friendly because its not going with the flow of what's in (pop hop). he's not getting radio play but then again i believe reasonable doubt was gettin much radio play either. i know i didnt hear much here about it because thats not what was poppin on  the radio. only song i can really say that i might have heard on the radio would probably be "Aint No" with foxy and they didnt play it that much. isnt jay's fault its just the way radio is now.

-keyshia cole and her breastseses. those things are crazy big. i love em! but i believe i heard from somewhere that the reason she doesnt like her bust size is because growing up thats all dudes would see her for, her breasts.

-auntie viv is like a freak of nature. she doesnt age which is creepy. same goes for angela basset.

-trey songz. i would be pissed too. trey look like he is going to hit someone then sue them for locking him up for no good reason. i hope he does take action against springfield police.

-Jay-z and itunes. i feel where he is coming from. this is like a masterpiece and he doesnt want to degrade it by letting buyers pick it apart and buy specific tracks. i believe he feels its like a book, you cant just skip chapter and get to the good parts because your missing stuff that lead up to that chapter. he feels it has to be listened to as a whole. plus this will make fans buy the whole album thus spending more money instead .99 cents per track or however that goes.

Wassup Illseed,

I think Jay-Z should have never openly declared his retirement. He could have said he was going to take a break (which is what he did basically). Now it is like he is competing against his own catalog and that is not a good position to be in because it takes away the edge. I mean he still has real competition in Kanye West (to a certain extent), and even 50 as far as record sales go. If Eminem comes back hard then that is another rapper that used to go head to head with Jay in sales.

Personally I don't think any rapper should retire, if you are an artist and musician then you can always go on hiatus, but when the rhythm hits you it's like bam, and you're back at it. Now I don't think you should be 40 trying to get on as with any career you will need at least a 5 year run to be viable. The 20s are the learning years, you take your bumps and bruises in your 20s. The 30s are the establishment years you should know what you're doing and be doing it in your 30s.

There is nothing wrong with a 40 year old that still does Hip Hop and rap for the love of the art. Jay is in a position where Def Jam still needs him to be VISIBLE, and that is because they just don't have that many main attractions over there right now. If I was Jay I would be looking for some new A&R's man, get out there the way OG Russ used to do and get some real talent on the Def Jam roster again.

I mean it's kool that he's back but man it's not even fair watching Jay promote his albums and then look at other Def Jam artists. "Take over this, take over that, Letterman, commercials on every Viacom owned channel." I fuck with Jay but I would only do a joint marketing and distribution deal with that dude if given the opportunity and I would have the power to pull the trigger on my shit otherwise I wouldn't do it, make or break me. No way I would sign with Roc or Def Jam and be in his shadow. lmao I mean come on. :-)

I'm gonna cop that new Cass joint today, probably grab Jay's new record too. What to do about rich rappers. Jay came up from the street, but he ain't seen the street for a minute, so is he still relevant? I dunno. Hip Hop is about overcoming adversity, where do you take it once you're a success? Can a rich man tell a poor man about his life? Is being a 'gangsta' the only vision, or is there something else? Jay is in a position that he could lead Hip Hop in a new direction, but I don't see it happening, it's all the some old same old. Don't get me wrong, Jay -Z is a beast, but I just wanna know if he's about being an entertainer, or a real dude who's gonna make a difference with all the influence he has. Do we need another Frank Lucas? If you're gonna speak - Say something!

damnit viv!!! 1800-go-to-gym!!!

and as far as Jay goes, Man let me ask you a question...

1. If you were in a job/hustle, would you not do everything you could to be the best a it?

2. If you were a boss, would you give money to people who are not out proving that they deserve it?

3. If you are an entertainer with a limited budget, what should you do to cut cost and make your situation better?

My Answers-

1. Hell Yea, I would look at everybody as competition. What happened to that hunger you had when you weren't big? what did you do to get a buzz? that what the game is missing. people think that because they have a buzz and they have a little money that they have to be catered to. B/S if you want to keep that alive then you hustle how you have to hustle, you do what you have to do. You have a Strong label name behind you, and you a everything you need to get out. Most inventors are not rich b4 they get a break-they have to use their SMARTS!!!! do you lose that when you get paid, or is it that you are lazy. Just because you get a deal doesn't mean that you stop taking care of yourself and looking out for your best interests!

2.HeLL NAW! nigga if you are not proving that you are hungry (Constantly) then Im not putting my finances behind you. Business is business. you need to come at me with a fully thought out MARKETING plan and Ideas that will help YOUR career. not wait for me to do it. I didn't make you interested in being a star, I didn't make you a star, and I Damn sure am not going to spoon feed a grown ass adult that has the money, smarts, fame, buzz, or whatever you want to call it to market themselves.  Prove yourselves worth of my money just like I have to do!

3. Let me tell you something. what is stopping these rtist from mastering their trade...laziness. Why the hell wouldnt you go out and get your own studio setup? get your own computers and do your own graphic designs?, write your own music?, engineer your own work, and cut out the cost from the middle men? it is your job to put out music, but you rely on others to do it for you? fuck that lazy b/s!!! with a deal, you better believe that I would learn how to run a studio session, I would write, I would mix, I would do everything that I could to get my shit out. what makes them any different except these bastards have no drive. In any business that you are in, you need to learn every aspect of it so you are not at the mercy of others!!!.

looking for an engineer or producer or writer get at me. and graphic artist!

can't see the vid of Diddy on Oprah...who's the assistant? was it EastOaklandRoy?????????? did he win????

Vivica...there comes a time in every woman's life when she needs to stop with the bikini. her stomach ain't terrible but she need to keep it to herself...fa real. she'd look much better in a sexy 1 piece.

ay, i feel what Keyshia Cole is sayin. but that is also a woman issue...the grass is always greener on the other side. flat chested broads want bigger breasts, tig ol bitty broads want smaller breasts. i just said, "fuck it, i'm cool with what i'm workin with." diversity is a beautiful thing! LOL

but seriously, that's one of greatest challenges ladies: unconditional love for ourselves.

I don't think that just becuase you ain't been in the street that that factor alone takes away from your credibility.  What you did in your youth made you the person that you are today (wisdom, personality, who you know to trust, etc.).  I think more people get caught up in the, I have to have my white/black tee on and jeans hanging low with gold teeth in my mouth to be street, hood, whatever you want to call it.  I can have my white/black tee on, jeans hanging low and gold teeth in and it ain't gonna help me get a corporate job.  Hell, I even get looked at differently if I go into a store if I dress a little different.  Still, no matter if I moved to the country to escape the city life, I am still from where I am from.  I can still go back to the streets if I need to.  I still have a lot of street smarts no matter where I go.  I think he can still claim it, shit anybody can claim it.  Just cause you moved on, don't mean that it ain't in you anymore.

I've never hated against a rapper acting, it's just another avenue to making money.  Plus you can get your Morgan Freeman on and act till your dust. lol

I see Viv got a lil stomach.  I aint mad at it though.

Rappers dont retire.  It just aint one of those type of gigs.  They just stop making music or people stop listening and they fade out.

Plus aint nobody up for another one of Jay Z extravagant retirements and shit, at least Im not.  He already had a chance to go out like that.  Now he gotta just fall off.

50 Cent, retire?  That one dont really matter to me.  He can just have a radio show or something where he just talk shit.  Or work for WWF hyping up new fights or something.  When he go out though, it truly might be the death of the gangsta rapper.  Metro talk up, gun talk down.

As far as that American Gangster album, I listened to it.  I like the flow of the album.  I think he was trying too hard to recapture the drug talk though.  He just aint there no more, its all good.  A couple of the tracks was hot and the style as far as art goes was definitely unique.

But I think he like a kid in a candy store with this hype over Frank Lucas life.  If he that hype, imagine these kids.  They like prolly like "Fukk this school shit son, Im on that Blue magic fa real yo!"

Meanwhile the whole possibility of recreating Lucas' situation in our era is impossible with the lack of loyalty and the snitch fever going around.

Not to mention, that them drugs really fukked peoples life up.  Im still debating if I understand the plight of the drug dealer trying to eat vs.  Being completely angry with these dudes, by taking over the whole movement of fukking up they own people.

Drug dealers basically said "Move over White Man, i got dis son.  When I give them niggas this Blue Magic they really gone be fukked up. This gone be the worst thing to hit 'em since The Willie Lynch Doctrine."

I still dont really buy that whole argument of  "fuk it I had to get on my grind with this drug shit cuz a nigga got to eat."

If you dont give a fuk about your people, why do you expect this white man to?

How yall niggas gone cry out injustice on shit like Katrina and Jena 6, when yall do that same shit to yall people everyday (message to the drug dealer).

Which is worst, Katrina's flood of water or the drug dealers flood of drugs?

Which hurts more generations?

Man fukk drug talk.  Im about erase like half my catalog of rappers I support.  These ones that carelessly promote this drug epidemic more than they promote the preservation of our future generations.  From Jay Z to Jeezy.

And this is gonna be a painful process for me cause I fukks with a lot of these dudes, but I just might be thankful later.

If anybody disagree with this move, talk some serious logic to me.  Cause I'm really feeling like this right now...

OK, so I feel Jay on the iTunes thing..but I also know that if every song was hot on the album, then people would buy every song. Problem is, not every song is worth the money. The album is good, not great. There are some tracks that prove he should have taken his time a little more than just throwing it together.

Should he retire? Yes. Either from rapping to be the president of the company, or from the president of the company to be a rapper. It's a conflict of interest.

That Granny video was classic.

I'm with the Resistance, besides the satanic filth comment. 50 said he would retire if he lost, and he did. So goodbye Curtis.

Roe vs. Wade FOR MEN

LANSING, Michigan (AP) -- A federal appeals court has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit nicknamed "Roe v. Wade for Men" filed by a men's rights group on behalf of a man who said he shouldn't have to pay child support for his ex-girlfriend's daughter.

A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a decision released Tuesday, agreed with a lower court judge that Matthew Dubay's suit was frivolous.

Dubay, 25, had said ex-girlfriend Lauren Wells knew he didn't want to have a child and assured him repeatedly she couldn't get pregnant because of a medical condition.

He argued that if a pregnant woman can choose among abortion, adoption or raising a child, a man involved in an unintended pregnancy should have the choice of declining the financial responsibilities of fatherhood.

U.S. District Judge David Lawson in Bay City disagreed, rejecting Dubay's argument that Michigan's paternity law violates the U.S. Constitution's equal protection clause because it didn't extend reproductive rights to men.

The suit was prepared for Dubay by the National Center for Men in Old Bethpage, New York., which dubbed it "Roe v. Wade for Men." The nickname drew objections from women's rights organizations.

State courts have ruled in the past that any inequity experienced by men like Dubay is outweighed by society's interest in ensuring that children get financial support from two parents.

Dubay sued the Saginaw County prosecutor and Wells in March, contesting an order to pay $500 a month in child support for a girl born to Wells in 2005. Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox intervened in the case and argued for its dismissal

You took tha wordz right outta my mouf, I cant even say how much you are dead on, that one!

I say it all the time
The system has been created

it needs sales men to sell it (racist, and false leaders)

it needs a support team to support it (laws, Law enforcement)

and

it needs customers to buy it (minorities that lack accountability)

Like any business or system with out customers the system fails

We think we doing big cuzz we make a few bucks hustling or what eva.
All the while we risk being locked up and losing our freedoms, thats not smart!

While the real criminals
Tobacco companies
Big Oil
Alcohol Companies
Big Banks

Are rapping and destroying people and doing it all legally.

That's a real huslta, the white corporate man in the suit you never see but own your every movement.

Not the clown on tv with the shades on, fitted and colorful ass suits and baggy pants talking funny to Mainstream America.

That's how they view us!

"Stop risking your freedom trying to make a buck, risk a buck to better improve your freedom"

And that's word to Dominique!

you takin 'em deep today.

But that's a question that's been asked for a while, the whole drug dealer got to eat vs destroying the community arguement.

I think you gotta start at the top, or the king pin. He/She's the one turnin these kids off of school because they see they can make some money. The lower level cats are more on the we gotta eat thing. But they are directly supplying the community with the poison. I guess the way I'm looking at it, is the Kingpin is more responsible, because not only is he/she feeding addicts, but they're takin kids out the classroom and putting them on the corner.

i responded 2 u re: the fight on yesterday's page. i'll post it over here.

@EORoy
so ur back, i was wondering where u been...sorry u didn't win. but for the record, i voted 4 u a # of times cause i always support my Town folks! fa sho!

@HP
did u get my response 2 u last night (yesterday's page)?

so i am really feelin ur comment. and i was looking for someone to build on this topic yesterday. i saw this documentary show called Gangland on Monday. all about Nicky Barnes and Frank Lucas. that shit had me thinking rather deeply.

so both of these cats were running Harlem side by side, but were not enemies or folks. found that very interesting. it dawned on me as i was watching that Lucas had game obviously thanks to Bumpy Johnson. but it is kinda apparent that Lucas was pretty ignorant, not the sharpest tack in the bunch.

while Barnes comes across as very intelligent: articulate and just sharp, a thinker. not that it really matters. but i found myself much more able to respect him for that reason.

however, when u look at the effect that they both had on the city, it was outrageously detrimental. these cats str8 ran Harlem into the dirt, shit lookin as bad as Detroit or worse (no disrespect).

like the heroin epidemic just killed the city, so many overdoses off that shit, it was crazy. it was before my time but it was very reminiscent of the crack epidemic in the 80s & 90s. mommas strung out, babies neglected and abandoned. just a damn shame really.

Lucas appears so proud of himself and now in his old age is gaining even more noteriety and glorification. which i find disheartening. Lucas and Barnes claim they did and are thought of as doing so much for their communities. but i think that is bullshit.

handing out free turkeys once a year, clothes and whatever else from time to time can never make up for the degradation they brought to their community. all the pain and suffering that was experienced could never be alleviated so easily.

now all that being said, i can not take the high ground and act like i haven't supported or participated in criminal activity in the past. i mean the dope game reigned supreme when i was coming up and that was the mentality i had.

it was just a certain way of life that i was accustomed to. i can't apologize for that now. but i have been starting to think of things differently. altho the dope dealer argument goes:

"if i wasn't the one selling it, someone else would"

and i do believe that. that's a justification that many of my folks, even those no longer in the game, hold on to. and it is reflective of this capitalistic and individualist society that we all reside in. out for self.

but i do recognize that the dope dealer must also take some responsibility for their actions. what they do has a larger impact than most want to acknowledge unfortunately. but i can't necessarily judge either.

i mean, now that i'm older, i can see that it is not something that any one person has to do. but the thing is that in many communities, individuals BELIEVE that it is the only thing that they can do. that is all they see being done and it is part of the socialization process.

they don't see or know enough people who make different choices and thus it becomes the norm, as well as an expectation for themselves and others.

they say that drug use is a victim-less crime and i used to believe that. but it's not true: babies and children suffer, families suffer, the community suffers, the addict suffers, and, believe it or not, the dealer suffers too. everyone involved is a victim.

the real point tho is the fact that the government sets the standard for our values. and yes, based upon culture there are always distinctions. but very few people in the U.S. do not ascribe to the overall values that are set forth. drug culture is a direct example of this, lurking in the shadows of America's superiority trip.

we all know that the Government profits from drug epidemics and this alleged war on drugs. the reality is if the government didn't benefit, they would shut that shit out at the borders. but they don't. drug dealers benefit due to the circumstance. but it's still a choice.

give up some input on where ur going with the Lynch vs. Lucas thought. cause i'm not sure how i feel about it yet.

sorry to go on 4ever.

i agree, Bika was wild with his punches and Jaidon act like he was looking to get socked up. not duckin and dodgin or nothin. he paid for it in the long run.

i knew that Bika had power that's why i felt like he might take it b4. but u do remember the_dboy (wut up folks!) called it. he said Bika was gonna win over Jaidon. did u trip that fool's name is Codrington?

overall...WOW!

@BFG I agree with u on the whole Nicky Barnes and Frank lucas comments u made. When I was watching American Gangster I was very shocked in some parts as to how bold these guys were like they ran the streets ruthlessly but also as if they were an asset to the city???? like a damn turkey helps heal all they did. We gotta remember tho it takes more than one person to hv so much power. I dunno how true to life the film is but how can ur whole fam get down like that and I include mama because she knew wat was up. I was in Harlem recently and it felt good to see the place looking quite good altho da popeyes still had that bulletproof glass up!

I co-sign your statement also, on point as always

The system is out there but the beautiful thing about life is that no one can make you do anything.

You chose to do the things you do

People have to realize that our goal isn't to live for this earth, it's to live for a higher place.

So if death has to come before your honor, manhood or Freedom....so be it.

No matter how much the system has on down and out, you must realize that "the only Chance is a Free Chance"

Nothing in the world is worth more than your Freedom

Nicky Barnes, Lucas, Pablo, Saddam...all these cats ruled with an Iron Rod and made tons of money and cause alto of grief.

But look at where it go them

Tobacco companies produce a product that is responsible for over 400k deaths a year in America alone.
You inhale over 4000 chemicals when you smoke (it's only 50% tobacco) and more people in China smoke than American citizens

But you don't see them gettin locked up?....naw

"If you ain't on the team you cant get on the field"

These governments will not let some "hoodnigga" run shit for too long.
If it's not your own stupidity (Frank Lucas) it will be them taking you down.

Get your hustle on legally so you limit your risk of losing your freedom.

We now have more Black owned and Minority owned businesses than ever before, so somebody isn't listening to the bullshit of "The white man this, the white man that"

I work in a white dominated field and catch hell all the time.  But the reward is worth the pressure for me to continue on.

Success is our biggest triumph,
"Let success be your .45 and let it spark till the clip is empty"

This is a qoute I heard once and thougt it was perfect

"Why be a man when you can be a success?"

real talk. and the sad part is that the people in the community were too blind to recognize all that. they loved them cats despite the destruction they brought with their reign.

it's a hard situation cause most people who have been deprived and have struggled are opportunistic as a survival mechanism. and just waitin for the chance to make a come up. instant gratification and only out for self.

but that is really as American as apple pie. it's no joke to be a member of the underclass in the richest and most powerful country in the world. the disparity is too great and way too apparent.

I don't disagree wit you at all. Artists should be willing to branch out to other topics.  But we all see what happens when they branch out (Kingdom Come is an example).  That's why you have (excuse the old term) Studio Gangta's.  There were in the game in the late 80's early 90's and they still in the game now.  I like Kingdom Come and thought it was a great album.  But most people say it wasn't because they couldn't understand the branching out. Some artists (Talib Kweli, Common, The Roots, etc.) can talk about other topics but we see they don't sell like they really should.  It seems like we are still selling out to our own people...but at the end of the day that is what makes certain rappers successful.

Yo, BFG that Snake vs. Goat vid was foul but you can't look away.

HP,
The mythological character of Willie Lynch creates the hate thyself and your own people mindstate that Lucas or any hustler employs to keep that sorta stuff goin way past the point where you need to quit.

So Lynch over Lucas.

But this is gonna be wild but I gotta say it.

Yo, sometimes...

Sometimes you got these options that are sitting in front of you.
You come up with a certain group of people that you were born with.

If your uncle, big brother or godfather got the "keys" to the city so to speak and you were born in that life, what are you gonna do?

I don't know about Frank like that.

But I can't sit here and pretend to be a saint.
I can't act like a lotta my fam still aint got one or two feet in the street.

I think each person has a responsibility to act on or do what their talents allow.

I would be a waste to everyone that showed me love comin up if I just stayed...well I'm not gonna admit to anything.

But if you know any real street dudes who can put their hands on something for you -- and I'm not talking about smaller bruvas grindin but guys that are really gettin it -- they always diversify their portfolio of associates.

Because they really wanna get out someday.

On the real, that's why I get a lotta street support while I'm out here.
I wanna pull all of my people outta the game.

And that's where I think the line needs to be drawn with the street and hip hop hustlers.

At which point is enough enough, ya know?

On the street, sometimes you gotta, you know, get in where you fit in. And then get the fuck out. He who laughs last, laughs best.

With this Hip Hop shit, after you make enough dough that maybe three generations of your line can live comfortably, perhaps it's time to start helpin'.

Alls I'm sayin.

But I'm a little torn because too many names from them Philly  streets instilled in me the game that I have now.

And a handfull of them still call me on the weekly on some "what's up playboy? you alright?" shit.

And a lotta them ain't never had no jobs.

From the heart.

drugs was pushed into the black community though the goverment via the mafia to pacify and kill the growing discontentment of the young black male. i already told you niggas back then castro met with malcom and che was in south america trying to start another vietnam to over extend the us military. niggas was trying to get free and was crushed for it just like a slave running off the plantation. butrflygrl you in oakland you saw what happen to the panthers. twon i forget the brother in chicago whats his name they kicked in his door and shot him up in his bed. so you niggas need to stop talking shit about lucas he did exactly what any man do. what he was taught too.

Dog Shoots Man In The Leg

A Tama county man has become the talk of the nation, even mentioned on David Letterman, after his dog shot him while hunting.

James Harris was out of the hospital Tuesday and ready to talk about what happened. He said he’s just happy his injuries weren’t worse.

"I really didn't know what was going on at first," Harris said.

He was pheasant hunting with a group of friends and as usual brought his dog, a 9-year-old chocolate lab named Amber, along. She’s been hunting with Harris since she was a pup. He said she’s a great hunting dog.

Harris said he put his shotgun on safety and laid it flat on the ground to climb over a fence to retrieve a bird, but he didn’t make it back across the fence.

"I heard a loud bang and felt something go past my face, looked down (and) my dog was standing on my shot gun. She had hit the safety and the trigger and shot me in the leg," Harris said.

He was rushed to the hospital in Grinnell and then transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

“First they ask me what happened. I say my dog shot me and they say ‘what?’” Harris said.

The bullet blew through his skin hitting some nerves mainly in his left leg.

Harris said he's received non-stop calls about this dog shoots man story, his story.

“When I was at the hospital; the DNR stopped by and asked their questions. They said don't be surprised; this isn't the first time this has happened. It's happened quite a few times," he said.

Harris doesn't blame Amber for the accident and said he wants to go hunting with her again.

"I'm not much for being cooped up. This is driving me nuts to be stuck here all day long," he said.

Doctors told Harris he’d need skin grafts to help repair the damage, starting as early as Friday.

DNR is not planning to file any charges in the accident.

OK NOW WHO WERE THEY GONNA FILE CHARGES AGAINST THE DOG???? nigga please

Yo, y'all know Denzel got paid twice for AG?

Originally Antoine Fuqua (training day) was supposed to direct it.
Denzell and Benicio Del Torro had Pay or play deals.

That means that get paid whether the movie is made or not.

So the first time it didn't get made but they still got paid.

And of course the second time it did get made and well you know the rest.

I just keep thinking about how better that movie could been.

This ridley scott version was just flavorless.

they ain't have no music.

they ain't clash with the nation or nobody

they ain't really get into how we talk or nuffin.

it just was so soulless.

sorta like guesswork.

"well I guess this is probably what they may have done back then"

sometimes I really feel Spike's sentiment about why are they always telling our stories

then I'm like well spike it's only two black directors with a voice and style.

that's you and tarantino.

What?
y'all ain't know tarantino was black all this time?

sike.

but there's a rumour in that. we could start that up.

yo, but what if white people held a press conference and was  all was coming outta the racial closet and they was pullin off their mask and they was like

"yup. all this time. I was black."

it would be quentin tarantino

kevin smith

who else?

but yo, sometimes I be like it's only one spike lee. so who else can make these pictures for us.

And what do ya know, Fizzy da kid come poppin off at the mouth.  Coming to aid Frank Lucas and shit.

Let that man nuts beath, he dont need you to stick up for him.

As far as my regard to Frank Lucas, I used him as the representative of the drug dealer because he was the topic of discussion.  I dont got nothing personal against him, he really ws used to personalize the situation.

Would you prefer I say  Willie Lynch vs.  Drug Dealers

It just dont have the same ring to it.  So nope Imma get you mad and keep saying Frank Lucas.   Now get mad and knock your monitor over nigga.  Dont send me a virus or none of the other internet gangster tactics you and the e-gang got.  I need dis computer.

As far as the Lynch vs Lucas argument.

Again, I dont know much about Frank Lucas besides a couple articles and the movie of course.  So to all the Lucas' stans  (Fizz and co.), dis aint a personal dis on the dude.  Hes representation of a whole generation and sub generation of cats out here.  Get it?

Got it?  Good!

Any hoot.

The reason I compare them, and I see BP1 touched on it a little bit earlier, is I was thinking about Lynches early and continued influence on the black psyche.  Then I thought about these drug dealers out here who half of which are actually quite intelligent.  I actually know a few personally.  By the way Fizz da kid, that spot in philly you gave a shout out to (North Philly).  Yea that one.

Thats where Im from bitch.  I grew in a lot of dumb shit, I seen it all.  Through family and otherwise.  Was it influential?  Hell yea.  Did it interest me?  I would be lying if I said it didnt.  North Philly in some areas is like a fukkin poor African country.

I know the hunger my people had.  I saw the desparation my nigga.  But i didnt bite the bullet (literally and otherwise).

I had faith in this education thing.  Despite seeing my peers rise above me temporarily off that fast money.

I stand before you today.  Happy with my decision my nigga!

And i aint some honky dorey as dude thats gone really thing my shit dont stink and straight down my dudes.  I know the pain and emotions and shit.  but when I analyze the big skeem.

i conclude that they hustled backwards!

Yea we always talk about grindin and hustlin.  "Everyday im hustlin, whip it real hard"  I know the movement my nigga.

But at the end of the day, i wish my people would stop hustling hard, and hustle smart.

Where did I leave off.  Before i was rudely interupted by thoughts of Canibus, i mean Fizzboy, gettin back at me.

I gotta admit people, this one of my guilty pleasures.  Dudes like him real funny to me.

but let me get back into it...

I watched American Gangster.  I analyzed the Frank Lucas character Denzel portayed int he movie.  I saw his professionalism.  He was real methodical.  Paid attention to his mentor.  He was a man of principles.  Sometimes jacked up principles.  But none the less, principles.  And of course my favorite, he was a man of intelligence.

With that in mind, being an intelligent man.  A man who could reason.  deductive, inductive, whatever.  Basically a man who could be accountable for his actions.

With that it mind, despite the pass he gets from Fizz and co.  Didnt he still commit a crime against humanity.

Matter fact, strap that.  A crime against his people.  The people he loved so much that he made sure after he butt raped them, he gave them a turkey.

As Denzell would say, " My Man!!!"

With that in mind...

The reason I compare Lucas to Lynch.  Wait this deep...

Black man and white man...deeper

black pieces and white pieces on the chess board.

Now that shit right there fizzboy (chess), now thats my shit.  thats something i do get down on.

anyway, sorry I keep getting rudely interupted by those canibus thoughts.  You know canibus can battle rap so Im staying on my toes and shit.

But back to it.

black pieces held by Lucas, white pieces held by Lynch.  Yea yea yea i know white gets to move first.  Lynch get the head start.  What else is new?  Thats the story of our life!

But anyway.  Lynches strategy to achieve success not only for himself but his people in general  (oh yea, this chess match is deeper than a game),  his strategy was to actually attack the opponent see.  But not only was he trying to attack the current opponent, he wanted to make sure that every player that picked  up those black pieces were doomed before the game starts.

yea I agree, intelligent man.  He goes in Gods crimes against humanity box as well. But I wont speak for God, Ill let him do his thing.  Or she ladies, dont get at me.  Im still gettin at Canibus right now.

But anyway that was Lynches strategy.  Good strategy if you goal is evil.

But now lets talk about Lucas' strategy.  Again my man Luc is representing drug dealers period.  Nuttin personal.

But Lucas saw that the black side of the board was already battered from continued attacks by Lynch and co.  He understood the process that was happening.  He was a smart man.

He analyze the situation, kind of saw his side of the board as a lose lose situation.  I mean lynch had a great attack.  So my man lucas, scrapped the whole fighting for his people situation and he started playing the game for himself and his family.  Some might argue that to be the way to do it.

But he started to feel like Lynch already did his people in.  he felt it was nothing he could really do.  So he got on some squirrel trying to get a nut type shit.  He started knocking off his own pawns on the board.  He was only concerned about the backrow pieces (his family), he wasnt really worried about damaging future generations and all that.

Lynch and company analyzed the situation.  They said "well shit, they'll take it from here".  Lynch got up from the table went into the kitchen to get some grub. Than he went thru his phonebook to fish out his next victims.  You see he wanted to be the best chess player out there.  So he knew he had to beat not only the black pieces, but he trained his future generations to go after the asians, middle eastern people, etc.

So while Lynch went that route.  Lucas busied himself with knocking his own pawns and shit off the board.  Now we all know that pawns are equivalent to the immune defense system.  So knocking that off, will leave the other pieces completely vulnerable.  Hence small victory for Lucas, because soon the whole side would be in jeopardy.

With that in mind, is that a good chess strategy people?

Theres more, remember my whole increments thing.  Sorry to the people that are just here for the rumors.

i know know, we too deep in here.  My bad.  Just skip over this. stuff.  gives us your thoughts on supahead and all that.

But the way you come off is always disrespectful.   You talkin about respect, start by giving it.

From the first post you placed on here you came at me crooked.  So I had to go in on you.  You see i can be an intelligent black or I can be an intelligent nigga.  Its just one of those dynamics I  possess.

6. Raptors
7. Hawks
8. Knicks

If there's a big injury on either of those last teams I think the Heat, Wizards or Bulls could possibly get in there..All three of those teams were playoff teams last year but are winless at this point..I know the Pacers look good right now but they don't have enough talent to contend down the stretch..

the bulls will turn it around. They got too much talent not to.

The knicks will realize they're the knicks, and Isiah will get fired after this year.

I didn't want to put the heat in the playoffs either, because they sucked last year when everyone was healthy, and now they gotta wait a month before D Wade starts playin at game speed with them..then you know it's gonna take him at least another 2 weeks to get fully in the flow of things

but here's my list, revised from what I had on the blog. not different teams, just a couple of teams switched up in the order

1 Pistons
2 Celtics
3 Bulls
4 Magic
5 Nets
6 Raptors
7 Cavs
8 Heat/Wizards  I really couldn't decide which team i wanted to put in there, so I'ma call it a toss up

I'ma tell you a move I want to see happen out of Yankee land.

The Marlins have said that Dontrell Willis and Miguel Cabrera are on the trading block. And all they want in return is some prospects (yes, they're that fucking stupid. it's the marlins. they don't like to win.)

I saw we cough up Kei Igawa (good fucking bye to that guy. he sucks) Tyler Clippard (who only pitched in a few games in the majors this year, but was somethin like 5-1) an outfielder from the minors, and maybe some cash.

For the D-Train and Miguel Cabrera? I'm doin what it takes. You can take your pick of prospects besides Phil Hughes and Joba.

you know both of them (cabrera and willis) are familiar with Girardi from his Marlins days. Could play a role in it. I think it would be a huge move for the Yankees. No way can we rely on Wilson Betemeit to play 3rd every day.

but hell yeah ill take both of them. dontrell would get alot of run support in ny. and miguel could take a rod place i wasnt feeling him any way. the yankees need to get their pitching in order they aint winning shit till they do. cause boston look like their pitching set for ten joints.

I see where you comin from on the Chess game analogy.

There comes a point in every man or woman's life where they gotta make a choice. And it's up to them and them alone which road they're gonna follow. It might not be the 'cool' thing to do, and you might get made fun of for your decision. But if you can live with it, then do you. You know from the get go the end reprecusions, or potential outcome at the very least. Reguardless of the amount of shit going on around you, or the tremendous size of the pile of shit you have to sift through, every man is armed with a shovel to dig himself out of it. Whether you chose to use your shovel, or sell it is your own choice.

But if you sell your shovel, you gonna be one stankin ass muhfucker. Cuz the shit that I'm shovelin through is endin up at your feet. It's not because I want it to end up there. You're just not makin any moves. You're standin still and waitin for the shit to pile up, and you're screamin for a life raft when the boat been gone.

the marlins don't mean to win, it just happens sometimes. If they did, they would have kept at least 1 of these players. But look at them throughout their history. Besides that 97 team which was thrown together to win a ring, did that, and then was traded away.

But once the Marlins win, they panick. They start giving away players for dirt. What did they get for Mike Lowell AND Josh Beckett? AJ Burnett? Derrek Lee? Mike Hampton? Livan Hernandez? Brad Penny? Carlos Delgado? Luis Castillo?

Did you know the Marlins drafted Johan Santana, but immediately traded him for Jared Camp.

You know their '03 Starting rotation, from when the won the world series was Josh Beckett, Carl Pavano, Brad Penny, and A.J Burnett at the beginning of the year. Dontrelle was called up later in the season, along with Cabrera.

They just consistantly give young talented players up for nothing. Instead of signing them to an extension before their contract ends for less than it would costs once it does expire, they just trade them for whatever they can get.

I'm not a big Knicks fan but I think they got the right fit now..You can't deny the talent they have and the pickups they've made..Their starting 5 is better than all but 3 teams and their bench as just as good or better..

The Hawks got talent and the only place they are slacking is in experience in their frontcourt and they need a bigger point guard..All of their point guards are 6 feet or shorter..But Joe Johnson do his thing and you know Josh Smith is a beast..Al Horsford is looking pretty good and so is Acie Law..

The Bulls will barely get in if they do make it because their frontcourt is inexperienced besides Ben Wallace and he ain't been shit since they got him..He definitely wasn't worth 15 mil a year..Their backcourt and bench are good though..

You really reaching with them Heat..Shaq looks like Dikembe and Ricky Davis will be Ricky Davis at the end of the day..Wade can't lead them all by himself and have you looked at the rest of their roster...Their team is real weak but it's possible he could lead them but I don't see it with those role players..Indiana and Charlotte will have better records than Miami at the end of the year..

I like the Wizards but they won't make it without Arenas, Jamison and Butler..Every year all of them get hurt at different times and Arenas has had surgery twice within the last few weeks to remove fluid..Nobody else on there roster is capable of leading them.

@ fizzroy

Sounds like you had one of them country ass thoroughbreds with the coffee table ass..It wasn't no roots nigga..You know she was putting that hoola hoop on you..You know what I mean..The chicks that'll ride you to sleep and have you curled up like a baby with your thumb in your mouth..lmao..I think Georgia and Texas breed them or something.. OH, and listen to Beach Chair...really listen to the lyrics.  Or even Minority Report.  Jay went HARD on those tracks, but since he wasn't bustin' guns and killin' folks on that album, folks hated it.  GTFOH...Even Digga Hole or what not was cool...

the bulls are ill. Ben Wallace hasn't been what he was in Detroit, but he's still better than Eddy Curry.

I don't remember off the top what seed the Bulls were last year, but it wasn't lower than the 5. Don't be worried about them being winless. Last year Dallas started 0-4 and almost won 70 games.

The Knicks have a sick line up, but they'll slowly but surely realize they're the knicks. you can write it down. The knicks will finish nowhere near the playoffs. Isiah is possibly the worst GM in sports history. Not just Basketball. He's horrible. It's like he wants the worst contracts of all time on his team. If you have an expiring contract, we'll trade you for someone who's got 4 years and 50 mil on theirs.

yo my bad I was writin that blog..

Larry Hughes should get benched. Boobie Gibson is raw. You gotta give the young cat some PT, especially when he was shinin in the playoffs last year, and your starter aint nothin special.

But yea, LeBron needs some help or he's chunkin the deuces real soon. The Cavs are pathetic for not making any moves. He's already talked about how pissed he is they tried to get Mike Bibby and that shit didn't work, and the organization was like oh well, we tried. maybe next year. Like nah son, go get someone else. Mike Bibby aint all that anyways. He's good, but let's be real. He had his run already. He's not Jason Kidd still ballin out of control damn near 10 years after the fact.

but they need more than just a PG. They need a Big Man. Ilgauskas isn't bad, but he's old as hell and doens't defend that well. Gooden isn't THAT bad, but he's not anything to brag about, either. They need a spot up shooter. If Damon Jones was more consistant he would hold that SG spot down, though I like Pavlovic. Pavlovic's real athletic, but he tries to play out of his body sometimes. He tries to prove that he's as good as LeBron, or it looks that way, instead of playing his role

i see y'all been having fun...

i just came to respond to HP/Fizzroy issue really.

for the record, guys, majority of the men that have started posting on the board regularly since i been on, have been kinda combative or argumentative in their own way. i know i probably had a little bit of an attitude myself at 1st. shit probably still do.

but most people, as they have begun to recognize other people on here and communicate with them, they have also begun to understand others and build a certain amount of respect for them.

kinda like a...idk community?

like being able to learn from others experiences, take different perspectives into consideration, share your views, opinions, and ideas with minus at least some of the judgment and disrespect.

y'all already know how me & fizzroy go at it, dislike one another, whatever. but i'm trying to just state my point of view independent of that, as objectively as i can.

fizzroy u said u don't switch it up on here for nobody. but i would disagree. u appear hella cool with quite a few people on here and usually don't make comments that would offend them directly.

but i feel like u stay taking subliminal shots at me and just be outright disrespectful regularly. that's my point of view. it appears that a lot of folks have just accepted that's how u r. and that's cool for them.

i kinda sorta attempted to do the same, but no one in the world would just sit on here and repeatedly not respond to feeling disrespected even a little bit. well maybe a mark or a lame would but that ain't me.

i obviously understand HP's frustration. cause i've displayed my own on numerous occasions. i got frustrated as soon as i saw the comment about "butrflygrl go harder than u." why u speaking on me like i'm some kinda mark. u got me all the way fucked up.

and implying that HP coming at u cause he's aligning with who?

but then, of course, i had to laugh at all that.

it's really not that serious. it doesn't have to be all hella discord and shit. but whatever. i don't mind a little conflict every now and then.

HP i liked the chess analogy 2. kinda makes me feel like playing again. but i get beat 2 easy by my only competition. maybe i'll just play on the computer.

If we was betting I'd put a stack on the Knicks making the playoffs this year and another stack on the Bulls not..I'll tell you why..The East has gotten better with the trades that were made and some players just got better over the summer from the experience of last year..Boston(KG, Ray Allen), New York (Zack Randolph, Fred Jones), Atlanta (Al Horsford, Acie Law and Josh Smith gained exp), Charlotte (Jason Richardson) and Orlando (Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard is still getting better and he's only 21 )..Cleveland, Washington didn't improve and Miami and Chicago got worse..Old age will keep Miami from reaching the playoffs..Too many old players and Wade ain't durable enough to carry them the whole year..As far as Chicago they would be good if they had kept Chandler and Curry..Both are playing better than the people they have in their positions and that includes Ben Wallace..Have you ever compared his numbers to Curry..Of course he's a better defensive player and rebounder but he's light years behind Curry offensively and the Bulls are paying him twice what Curry is making this year...Look at their numbers for the last 3 years and you tell me based off that who you'd take right now in their careers..Also, if Joakim Noah is seeing 19 mins a game as flaky as his game is your frontcourt is in trouble..I know you are a Gator but he won't be any better than Drew Gooden if that..They don't have a rebounder getting more than 6 rebounds a game and it's not going to get better unless they trade..Right now Joe Smith is the best big man they got and that ain't saying much but check the stats out..They need to pick up one of the big men still out there that are free agents and i'll put them back in the playoffs..C. Webb, Dale Davis, A Varejao, Potapenko, P.J. Brown, DJ Mbenga and Chris Anderson are still available..Well Anderson won't be until after his suspension is over in January but they better pick one of those guys up and if it was me i'd take C. Webb or Chris Anderson..C. Webb would fit in good and give them about 12 points, 7 rebounds and about 5 assists..But there's my predictions and opinion on the East..

See, I think the bulls havne't done anything to get worse. They knew Big Ben wasn't gonna score points when they brought him over. They didn't get him for that. Do I think the bulls are gonna contend for the title this year? nah. Will they be a solid 3-6 playoff seed? I believe so.

Ben Gordon is underrated. He's struggling now, but it's only been 4 or 5 games. Now is definitely not the time to panic. If they're sittin at 5-15 after 20 games, then you might wanna talk about they should have made the move for kobe. But they wont be 5-15.

Like I said on my blog..the Bulls got a lot of young talent that is continuing to develop. When you let it develop with the same group of players over an extended period of time, it does nothing but improve the chemistry, and we all know how far that can take you. You're not gonna want to see these bulls, if they keep the core together in another 2-3 years. They'll be shittin on people like the Spurs.

They need someone to step up and score some points, true. But Luol Deng and Ben Gordon will take care of that.

Atlanta? Really? I mean I know you're right there in Dekalb, but they're on some Golden State hopin and prayin for the playoffs. They should concentrate on winning 35-40 games. They'll get there maybe as soon as next year, but I can't see it happening this year.

The bobcats are horrible. Jason Richardson is good, and Raymond Felton is good, but hurt..

Zach Randolph is overrated. I really think he is. He's a trouble maker too. Like Ron Artest. Artest was makin the playoffs, back in the day, but that's because he was playin with Jermaine O'Neal. The Knicks dont have anyone near as good as O'Neal was/is.

But like I said, we just got done with the 1st week of the season. There's months and months of basketball to be played. The Clippers are undefeated. things will settle in the way they should here in the next couple of weeks. Teams got those early season jitters and all that, but basketball is probably the most predictable pro sport there is, besides golf, because you know its tiger woods every week

but yo i'm out its late as a muhfugga round here

be easy

Oh, and if I had a job, I would raise your stack on each bet to 5.

Long time black people and all in between,  a lot of interesting things going on. I read so much on here I 4got about the rumors, but only AHH does that to me and those alike!

I feel where u coming from Hoodprophet as well as Fizzroy(for some reason, I get the feeling you are from Harlem. Are u?)

As far as Jay retiring, for what? That's part of the art, u get inspired! You should write, record or whatever it is that you do! I get inspired by a lot of ish on here! I write and pass it along to my family to get their constructive criticism. I know they won't bullshit me! Especially my grandmother as she always tells me, Im wasting my talents! How do I keep it pushing? Im shy but how does one come out of it? I need some insight on that! I wrote some fire which I called it "My Political Truth Soup"!

As far as the question about Willie Lynch vs Frank Lucas(and those alike), in my opinion they both are equal in different ways! At the same time, I want to contradict myself and say Frank would be too blame more, b/c he comes from a background of where his family wasnt treated fairly growing up as well as him seeing first hand what the dope era did to his people! I saw the semi-doc about him on BET the other night and he talked about growing up as a kid and how his cousin looked a  white woman and was killed b/c of it in front of his face. His father was trying to bring attention to it and he was killed behind sticking up for his family. He went on to say, he didnt give a fuck about a white person/cop or whatever. Although i understand first hand where he is coming from w/ that b/c I too lost a close relative by a police officer who was trigger happy! At the same time, u cant punish ur own b/c u didnt have the opportunity to educate yourself in the school system, but it sure wasn't hard to pick up a book and learn on ur own! I know my thoughts are all over the place but u all who are reading this get where Im coming from! We as a community have a part in it too! We use the N-word more than whites! Why is that? Hp and Fizz used it so many times I couldnt count on my hands and toes no  more! But if that's the language u use w/ or w/o get upset thats you. But that's part of the problem as well! I know the word probably will never die out but still if we are going to be conscience of what's killing us we need to be conscience of all of the things that's killing us, not just 1 or 2 or 3 or 4! Its a lot more than that brothers and sisters! We cant even love our neighbor, how the hell are we going to love our community and help build a better future for our kids? huh? Someone answer that for me please? Im not here to go at no ones head b/c im not a the Judge, GOD is! Im just one of his children pointing out some flaws I see! I too have my flaws, as Mandels famous speech applies to me! Im searching for answers from within as I am from others! Some one can help  me as I too can help u/them! U feel me! I may be the smartest chip on the block, but i have my opinion and my views of a lot of shit as we all do! But what are we doing to really change the indifference that we all face? Black people and those in between! What are u going to do?

As far as the rumors, I guess ill touch on that another time or maybe never for 2day!

Lena is OVER AND OUT! Im still raising my FIST and shouting BLACK POWER~

I feel where you’re coming from with your Lynch Vs. Lucus question. But why should we let a man name Ridley define the terms of the debate by trying to revive and put Frank Lucas out front and center? Relatively speaking Lucas had been a dim memory from the past and on covers of F.E.D.S magazine.
He’s an easy target. But let’s forget about the man Ridley shined a light on. How about Jay Z? Now it’s not gonna be so easy. How about Lynch Vs. S. Carter.
Now before I get into that I gotta say something about Willie Lynch.
Wikipedia may or may not be correct on this but they say:

“The William (or Willie) Lynch Speech (or Letter) is a text of unknown origin which drew widespread attention when it circulated throughout the Internet during the 1990s . It purports to be an address given to an audience on the bank of the James River in Virginia in 1712 regarding control of slaves within the colony.  The speaker, William Lynch, is said to have been a slaveowner in the West Indies , summoned to Virginia in 1712 ; in part due to several slave revolts in the area prior to his visit, and his alleged reputation of being an authoritarian and strict slaveowner. No provenance for the speech has ever been supplied, and the text as given below contains numerous anachronisms ("self-refueling", for example, since the word "refueling" dates only to the early twentieth century, or "fool proof", a word not attested until the early twentieth century). For these reasons, along with others, historians such as William Jelani Cobb of Spelman College consider the Willie Lynch speech to be an internet hoax .[4]”

So we gotta realize that we might be comparing real people to a hoax. But that might be a side issue because hoax or not Willie Lynch represents a believable portrayal of a slave owners mentality and there are other undisputed documents which express similar “sentiments” and there are also contemporary racist manifestos you will find on the internet from existing groups today.
But getting back to this gangsterism and how it’s too easy to let Ridley prop up an old man as an easy target, let’s look at Jay Z more closely for a minute (and this is what people really don't want to do).  For example the two videos at the top of this rumors comments thread. In the song “I know” he tries to compare his love to heroin as if it were a positive thing:

"She wants that old thing back
Uh- uh- uh-
She want those Heroin tracks
She likes me
She fiends for me nightly
She leans for me ……
Don't ever let 'em tell you that you'll never need me
My China White, 'til we D.O.A. …..
I know what you like ....HOV
Baby you love ....HOV
Baby you love ....HOV
Baby you like ....HOV"

In the other song “American Dreamin” he says:

"I got dreams of baggin' snidd-ow the size of pillows
I see pies everytime my eyes clidd-ose
I see rides, sixes, i gotta get those….
I never felt that before
Its just american dreamin'….
Step One in this process, scramble up in your projects
And head to the heights where big coke is processed
You gotta convince 'em that you not from the Precinct
Please speak slow, cause he no speakey no english
If he takes a liking after a couple of trips
If your money is straight, he's gon' give you consignment."

And there are plenty more of such drug dealer romanticism on the rest of the album.
You did mention Jay and Jeezy briefly, they are a couple of the bigger P.R. men for the game today. But you let Ridley sidetrack you to an old man whose life is basically over and done with and has little influence other than a being a memory from the ‘70s who might do an interview or two because of this movie and discuss whether he had more game than Nicky Barnes. Plus you may believe him or not believe him but he says that he regrets selling heroin to people and that it was a mistake. So he’s not even representing the hustler’s point of view these days.
So if you want to talk about who is representing the drug dealer’s point of view today and be relevant to today you’re gonna have to ask these “vs.” questions about who is putting the message out today and now it's done musically over the airwaves and ipods. And that might upset more people.
Now there are other people like butrflygrl who say

“we all know that the Government profits from drug epidemics and this alleged war on drugs. the reality is if the government didn't benefit, they would shut that shit out at the borders. but they don't. drug dealers benefit due to the circumstance. but it's still a choice.”

I hear that a lot, that the government could stop it by “shutting down the borders”. It’s nonsense. This is a huge country and it’s impossible to control the borders. And if more measures were taken like checking every car that passes from state to state the people wouldn’t tolerate it and it would only slightly reduce the trafficking. If you look at hardcore countries like China or Iran they can’t even stop drug dealing. So that’s a false assumption.
And when there’s billions of dollars involved there’s no way any government is going to stop some of their officials being corrupted and the stuff getting in.
And if someone can find the evidence of government involvement be my guest and expose it. But if we as Black people don’t have the evidence right now all we can do is cry like babies. Meanwhile we have multi millionaire raps stars who we do have some buying power influence over blatantly advertising this stuff right in front of our faces. Now we can either get at them or argue that drugs be legalized, but I don’t hear Black people going for that legalize it argument or very many rappers trying to put forth a legalize crack rap.
We aren’t going for either argument because most of us on the DL, we like drug dealers it’s as simple as that. They’re the superstars on the block, with all the falsh and dash, rims and such, pretty ladies, diamond watches etc. etc. etc.  As Jay Z says, those who live the American Dream.
But how many survive that version of the so called dream and how many pay the price?

Thanks yall for your comments.  I appreciate and respect those who comment on an unfavorable topic.

I know it can be a difficult thing.  You know, ricking popularity, or maybe someone might not agree with you.  But I know there are a lot of intelligent people in this community.  Some of which dont comment on these boards for fear that people might not agree with you or whatever.  To that I say:

People as individuals can be very intelligent

People as a whole can be idiots.  Or sheepish I might add.

So I have more respect for those on here that put they chummy chum alliances to the side and comment on a serious issue affecting our community.

Whats fukked up and dont really matter but its worth me noting is that for some crazy ass reason, when I rally support or state unfavorable views, A lot of times I get more fukkin respect or even support from white audiences instead of my own people.  I will never understand that shit about us.

Its like sure you got your ignorant and/or racist whites out here.  But you also got the sympathizers and empathizers who've been riding with the black mans plight since this shit has begun.  And whats crazy is, these people be ready to act faster than us on many occasions.

I know for a fact if i went off on some Malcolm X type shit, my support would probably be 50/50 or even more from the white side of the fence. And thats a fukkin phenomenon to me.

Are we that helpless and regressed?  Did Willie Lynch or his followers really get us to that degree?  We in some serious trouble black people.  Sorry for the rant....wait no Im not!

@BFG
as far as the argument of you being harder than me.  You know thats a typical hood tactic.  You got to immediatelly attack a mans pride or whatever to try to wedge inferiority into him.  I took that comment with a grain of salt.  And hey Im comfortable enough to state that you are as or even more articulate then myself in a lot of your posts.  So I dont mind somebody comparing me to somebody worthy.

@shani

I feel you on the portrayal of Lucas.  But again Im not personally attacking Lucas, but I do think he is a better representation of who Im talking about than Jay Z.  Specially since Jay was inspired by him.

But Frank Lucas' stated himself that his life wasnt nothing to glorify.  I think hes a great example because he's one that gets some acclaim from our people.  but if you like, this argument can also be raised to Jay.

@slj40 and Bigslimfl

Im still thinking about yall posts.  So give me a minute with those.

As far as the argument with Jay Z and people like him.  Sure we can make this same argument there.  Probably not to the same degree because I think Lucas' actions might've have directly hurt way more people.  So I think its better to use Lucas in this argument than Jay as the representer of their breed.

And I dont want yall to think Im completely dissin their work ethic and dont respect their struggles.  I do, i really do.  But right now, im thinking of their overall influence.

People like Jay and Frank L. I hold more accountable because these are two very intelligent dudes.  They are fully conscious of the negative aspect of what they do.  They weigh it out, and they deem it still necesssary.

People Like Tupac and Nas on the other hand acknowledge they shit and be man enough to denounce a lot of the bull shit and tell these kids.  Cause dont forget how blindly the kids follow this shit people.

But I compare the situation to getting your drivers license.  The difference between a normal drivers license and a CDL is that your even more accountable when you have a CDL.  You are considered an advanced driver at that point.  So your penalties are greater because the expectations are greater for you.

Like Martin Luther King said, i believe in the Letter from a Birmingham... He stated that he holds the conscious whites in the government more accountable then the common people.

Those people that can truly conceptualize the impact of their actions on others are held more accountable then the sheepish majority.

Those of us that consider ourselves number one at this and that.  Everybody so quick to take titles and be on top but nobody wants the responsibility that comes with it.

A great man once said "Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die."  It escapes me at the moment of who said it.

But its oh so true.  With responsibility in mind, I do apologize to the younger people that check in on these boards.  I apologize for the vulgar language and all that.  I hope you can see past the road blocks and really get to the message.  Slj40, you stated a point about us using the n-word pretty often.  I understand where you comin at with that.
But sometimes when I flow its like poetry in motion or whatever (I aint trying to tut the horn but whatever).  I dont put the parental advisory on their until after its all said in done.  Me worrying about using the n-word or whatever might interupt my train of thought.  Id rather spit it out raw, then cut it up and edit it later.

I still debate our feelings towards the word.  Again I state my greater focus is our mentality, not a word.  If that word doesnt hold the same affect on me as it might some of my counterparts, and Im not allowed to use it?

Im not going to start that one up yet because Im sure we can all go on for days.  But Im the nigger that broke from the experiment.  Im V from V for Vendetta.  Im not going to make myself feel better about what happened by pretending it didnt happen and all that.  We all were niggerized.  Some more than others.  Its a fact and a continued process.  We got to understand the problem in its entirety before we can offer simple solutions like banning words.

We gotta go back to the root.

But enough of that for now, I went off on a tangent, my bad.

Yall understand where Im coming from with all this?

I want to again reiterate the importance in my people adding their two cent.

When we don't support intelligent dialugue, then it ceases to exist.

Thats why so many really good artists are leaving the game right now.  People put serious thought in they work and then they see yall put more support in shit like soulja boy than yall would in a release from Nas or Talib Kweli.

I will never understand that.  Maybe my people just aint ready for this change.  Its a process.  Right now the intelligent black is losing argument.

The argument that we are more than whats represented on BET and all that.

We vote by what we support people.

If I started talking about Mims or Soulja Boy new singles or the next person Supahead sleeps with, then everybody will run to slaughter.

We choose our ideals but what we support people.  We tell the world whats important to us by what we push the most.

ps
As far as the word nigger.  We all know what it means.  But check this, go to merriam-webster.com  and see what merriam webster thinks a nigger is.  I always thought that it was used to describe a particular black person, but check out merriam webster people!

Thank you for reading me back.
You made a good statement at the beginning of this whole thing. I agreed with the meat of it but had a few comments on the details.
You got caught up in the knuckle heads who try to bait you with personal attacks. That's a waste of time and it's letting them sidetrack you on paths they choose.
Maybe if they have one serious issue thrown in amongst the bullshit you might address it but leave the rest alone we got to take it to the next level and leave people behind who can’t do anything but the same ol’ same ol’ forever.
Frank Lucas is an old man in a wheel chair. He's a memory he now says dealing smack was a mistake. That was 30 years ago. Now look at your average line up in the music media section at allhiphop.com these guys are active and out there delivering new messages to the people. Words have power and influence. Willie Lynch hoax or not has an influence. Advertising and promotion have an influence and the companies spend billions on thes words. So what is the kind of stuff Jim Jones is promoting, Raekwon the chef, Camron, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross?
Nas, more thoughtful than most ain't exempt from some negative shit either. Why do you think he still calls himself Esco now and then (as if he was Pablo) and spits lyrics like “Money over Bullshit”:

“I can smell the haters, wishful thinkers, bad luck prayers
Picture your tarot cards and bodyguards gettin' sprayed up
Forensics, Paramedics carry cowards off
Defibrillators shock to your chest, try to cough
They die and hit Hell from an iron
I'm flyin', wire or cell, I'm paid from this shit
Got bitches high as hell, and they fuckin' like AIDS don't exist
They get sent to your hotel, a maid and shit
Put a barrel in a capo mouth, 'til his scalp come out…
Black Tec on the table, Mag .44…
From crack pushers to Lac' pushers and ambushers
And morticians to fortresses, case-dismisses
Laced in riches, cake ridiculous
From nickel and dimin; to trickin; them diamonds
Vegas, places in Switzerland
From non-blastin; to auto, I don't have to blast mine
They blast mine, black nine, you flatline….
Black negligee on my bitch, she's at the door
Black fish eggs, nigga, that's the caviar….
Join me in war, many will live, many will mourn
(Money Over Bullshit), pistols over brawn”

Or from “You Can’t Kill Me”:

“Shit about to go down wit' some foul niggaz
What the voice said, "what up pop? Who want it?"
I put the guap up, get the boy popped
He say "son stop, it's dudes you feedin'
Who feedin' other dudes, but they really not eatin'"
Dog, why you callin' me? This our food
You, handle the mouths that it trickles down to
Niggaz want beef, I want some of that cow too
But I'm in my princely robe, simply rich
Don't bother me wit' silly shit, call Rico….
Packed the nines, yo this nigga's asinine
Smack ya mom, relaxed and calm, then mack ya mom
In a casket, you'll get ya fashion on
You'll be in a suit and tie, you'll die
You'll make maggots turn to flies…
Lames'll swear by ya name, when they lie
Get hit wit' the lone star, ripped where ya bones are
So tell me how yo' ass gon' run, from a CZPO1?
In the midst of real steel movers, you a loser”

So when you say:
“People Like Tupac and Nas on the other hand acknowledge they shit and be man enough to denounce a lot of the bull shit and tell these kids”
sometimes on a Monday they denounced some stuff but then on a Tuesday they’re saying some other stuff. One day Nas is singing “I can” The next he’s talking “shoot em up, kill, kill, kill, murder, murder, murder” or “call Rico” (and it ain’t “I can” that he’s singing on tour). So in a way this must be more confusing to kids than another rapper who is straight up reckless.
We’re deep in this mess and like you said it’s going to be a painful process to get out:
“I'm about to erase like half my catalog of rappers I support.  These ones that carelessly promote this drug epidemic more than they promote the preservation of our future generations.  From Jay Z to Jeezy. “

That’s what I’m going through now, but I know it’s the right thing.
What about the “niggaz got to eat argument”?
I can see that in about 20% of the cases. But 80% of these dudes don’t want a 9-5 and just want to be what they see as a ghetto superstar, a rapper or a dealer, and most of these “soldiers” don’t make it, a little quick cash and then locked down upstate or shot in the stomach.
Meanwhile these rappers singing about it like it’s the shit to do:
Cassidy (with the Jay Z sample):
“I'm a hustler, I'm a hustler homey
I got the product, narcotics for customers homey”.
If people think only the government can smuggle drugs into this country then why arn't people rapping about don't deal what they're giving us.
Half thes rappers are full of shit that's why.
If a nigga got to eat then why arn't all these rappers rapping about we need jobs?

It’s like Plies said in the interview:

“You have White America, and they’re raised to become successful, but it’s not like that with our people. You aren’t real unless you’ve been to jail 30 times. To me, that means you aren’t very good at what you do; it shouldn’t mean that you’re real. But that’s the times that we’re living in right now.”

And I’m getting tired of living there.
Frank Lucas is the past. Who is the future?
