    PIMP C IS DEAD.

I’m only two minutes in knowing of Pimp C's death and I can’t even believe it. I’m thinking about it and I just cannot fathom that another Hip-Hop icon is dead. I didn’t know Pimp C, but I know him. He was 33 years old. A Black man with loved ones, family and friends. People are hurting so he meant something to a lot of people.

Today, I am going to pass on any rumors and pay homage to Chad Butler AKA Pimp C.

No matter how or why Pimp C died, I insist that you all reevaluate what is important to you in life. Rethink how you want to live, how you want to be remembered. I remember a lot about Pimp C and I miss him.

To Bun B and the rest of Pimp’s family – hold your head up high.

    R.I.P. PIMP C

Bun B and the rest of the Hip-Hop Nation welcome Pimp C home in “Get Throwed.” (Young Jeezy and Z-Ro are also on here too.)

Pimp C ft. Mike Jones & Bun B – “Pourin' Up”

Pimp-C - "Knockin doors Down" uncut

I like this one a lot, because it had Pimp C talking about building with other rappers and putting the negative stuff to the side.

UGK ft. Outkast – “International Players”

UGK - “The Game Belongs To Me”

Jay-Z ft. UGK – “Big Pimpin”

UGK – “It's Supposed To Bubble”

    UGK – “Use Me Up”

Pimp C and Bun B LIVE in July 2007

PIMP C – REST IN PEACE

this definitely bummed me out too...what i found to be real cool was some of these so-called rap super hip hop heads aint miss a beat. business as usual like stepping over a dead body to get some coverage on AHH. its disgusting as anything i've ever seen.

Anyway...shout out to bun b. hold that head up man. one thing i learned in LIFE...when you are at your lowest keep you head up. my pops died years ago and my grand mom REFUSED to let me put my head down. at the time it messed me up cuz all i wanted to do was bury my head in my chest...you gotta be strong, you gotta push thru it.

i been listening to a lot of pimp c's lyrics. he often asks for forgiveness and admits that some of the things he's doing and have done arent right but that hes trying...with what hands he was dealt. on the other side, he often asked to be FREE in song too.

I hope he has found "free."

Regardless of whether or not he was a drug dealer, who the fuck are you to judge?? Aint nobody glorifying a drug dealer, this aint alldrugdealers.com it's Hip Hop, and this man was and is Hip Hop! Illseed & AHH fam,
Let me say, first of all, that this was an extremely classy move on your part (taking off from rumors and all that.)
I'm right with you on being in shock, and really don't know what to do right now. Especially being in FL, we've lost 2 big people down here, first FL's own Sean T, now a south coast legend.
I urge EVERYONE to do what Illseed said and re-evaluate your situation, while you still can. I know I will as soon as my exams are over next week.

Whether you like Pimp or not, the fact remains that he was a southern legend, and without him, who knows where southern rap would be. He wasn't one of my favorite artists, but I still liked the dude. He seemed so down to earth and real. I had an exam last night, yet I still kept thinking, "This is so surreal. Can this really be happening?" every few minutes.

We, as a hip-hop community, have lost a huge person today. Please, whatever ANYONE is doing today, take the time out to remember Chad and pray for his family and friends. If you're not religious, go outside and pour out a little liquor, or do whatever you do to remember those no longer with us. Whatever you do, just please keep him in your thoughts.

    Peace and may God Bless,

the "knockin doors down" was a wake up call to southern rappers in general to stop letting bullshit get in the way of them achieving success. knocking doors down is a metaphor for reaching out to everybody so ninjas can unite, its strength in numbers he knew the south would be a stronger force if they all stood together."knockin doors down showin my suround" it has two meanings on the surface he is making reference to beating the block up with speakers in his vehicle ( we open up doors in cleveland too). but if you dig deeper he's exstending his hand & insite as veteran to the rappers mentioned in the song as well as others in an attempt to unite his peers.

Man I been listening to UGK since I was 12 yrs. old and now I'm 25. I remember me and my boys in New Orleans bumping "Tell Me Something Good" and that's when Pimp C first captured my ears. His untimely death really affected me because I am a true UGK fan. I bought all of their CD's faithfully and I respected Pimp C because he said what was on his mind. Whether you agreed with him or not, he didn't sugar coat anything. While most people were listening to Biggie and Pac I was listening to Ridin Dirty. He was a true legend not only in the South, but to rap music in general. He kept our trunks knockin with those Country Rap Tunes and I know that Bun will hold UGK down like he did when Pimp was locked up. RIP Sweet Jones, now the Pimp is really Free!!!

But where I really found out how talented Pimp C was, was when Big Mike dropped his joint "Havin' Thangs" with Pimp C on the hook. That's when I really became a fan.
    (Here's "Havin' Thangs" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QJG7SNVcE )

On the real I've neva been a big UGK fan, I guess it wasn't East Coast enuff for me.

But I always like Bun B's flow and "some" songs they did.

Yeah he may have done this and that, but at the end of the day in Death, none of that matters anymore in his case.

Some people do what they gotta do, it may not be right but it tis what it tis'.

I don't have to love a mans music to pay respects, a loss of a loved one is tough.

I'm up early cuz aint enough light in the daytime
Smoke two sweets get in these streets out the pop up line
Peanut holder my boulders smolder on the PA pipes
Ak loader as I get swallowed under city lights
Niggas be lookin shife so I look shife back
Cant show no weakness in these streets you'll get yo life jacked
Mayn its a trip where i stay especially for me
This bitches tryin to lock me up for the whole century
They gave my boy down in Florida Dante 19
I wish that we could smoke again and take a tight lean
My world a trip you can ask Bun B bitch I aint no liar
My man RoRo jus lost his baby in a house fire
And then when I got on my knees that night to pray
I asked God why he let these killas live and take my homeboy's son away
Man if you got kids show em you love em cuz God jus might call em home

Posted this on a music review, but felt people that need to read it might catch it here first.

With Pimp C passing yesterday I wish it would give people the mindset to re-evaluate the hate they have for some of these artist. Their job, profession, career, whatever you want to call it, is to make music. Think of all the things that are most important in life. Does whether or not Fat Joe or Birdman put out a song you like make the list. If so you need help that a simple post can't help you with. For everybody else take heed to one thing Pimp C was doing in his life. He was getting all the Southern artists to let the petty bullshit fall back, and work together as one solid front. Because he knew like I knew that hip hop would be better for it. The culture will never see its' full potential if people constantly knip at the ankles of those ahead of them. It is a given you will not like everyone out now. The problem comes into play when you take aim at them on things that have nothing to do with the music. If you are not feeling them do not buy the album, and if you are right about them other people will not be buying their music either. And if no one is buying their music they will eventually fade away. But when you get on here spreading hate towards an artists, and their fans most of which you have no idea about. The only thing you achieve is seperation. And seperation is the one and only thing that can take down a strong organization. Just look at history, it speaks for itself. To wrap this up because it is getting too damn long. Is it better for hip-hop if the majority of the artists are successful, or is better if just the ones you like are succesful. From what I can see no other music genre has this huge problem hovering over its head. Not to mention that hip-hop has enough problems already with the Federal Government trying to take it out. With the help of the local hip-hop police task forces.

An old black man lived alone in the country.
He wanted to dig his yearly collard green garden,
but it was always very hard work for him because the ground was hard. His only son, Junebug Jankins III, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament.

Dear Junebugg Jankins the III, I am feeling pretty bad because it look like I won't be able to plant my collard green garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me. Love Dad

A few days later he received a letter from his son

Dear Daddy Jankins, Whatever you do, don't dig up that garden. That's where I buried the BODIES. Love Junebugg Jankins III

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Daddy Jankins, You can go ahead and plant the collard greens now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances. Love Junebugg III

    *Pardon the interruption*

I just watched that last installment of the American Gangster BET series.  As yall might know, they finished the series out with Kenneth "Supreme" Griffin.

After watching that, and the many other American Gangster biopics, I must say Im disgusted.

Its painful to see one brotha after the next get manipulated and slaughtered by the "system".

Lets talk a little bit about the system.  The entity that wagers the lives of so many young lost black brothas and sistas.  The system that plays the game of chess while its opponent plays checkers.

The system that has gotten so cocky that it plans its attack, reveals the attack, gives time for a response, then successfully executes its attack anyway.  Sounds like an unfair match up right?

When one side has the perspective and vision of a chess player and the other side has the perspective of a checker player, doesnt sound like much of a battle.  Sounds more like continuous slaughter...

This lump sided battle can only change course in two ways:

The side that keeps winning will ease up

    -or-

The side that keeps losing will switch its strategy

with in mind of course that the original strategy is self destruction.

I dont think the system is going to get any easier.

People, I got a question for you...

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

    I mean are you really?

The downside in being the race that can deal with the most bullshit is...

You end up dealin with the most bullshit.

What we want affects our thought process, our thought process  affects our actions, our actions affects the world around us, then the world around us starts to shape our wants...

    see the cycle?

With that cycle in mind, we must evaluate our wants, thoughts, actions, and our world and ask ourselves are we content.

If the answer is NO, then you have work to do.

If the answer is Yes, just make sure your being real with yourself.

pssst, I got a secret.  Well its not much of a secret because its been passed around a lot.

    *Secret: Law of Attraction*

YOU ARE AN ARTIST.  THE WORLD IS YOUR CANVAS!!!

if the picture you paint isnt something you can stand to look at...Paint another picture!

    what up everybody

    RIP to Pimp C

    may he rest in peace

i've never really been a fan,

but since his death i discovered that i did like quite a few of his songs.

of course, i feel most sorry for his family,

but i really see how much he meant to his fans.

    that's deep.

that's how i feel about, like, Pac or Aaliyah, Bob Marley.

    anyway, i wanted to say...

    @Twon
i liked that Collard Greens joint.

    i gotta share that one.

    @Gawga Bwoy
    u stupid!!!!!!!! LOL

    @HP
    u up on the secret?!?!?!?!?!?

my co-worker brought it to the youngsta group & we watched it last year.

we've incorporated the gratitude piece into our "check-ins."

but i can never find other people who have seen it.

i gotta a gang of questions about that one, of course.

but that's some deep shit, make you think.

    RIP Pimp C again

    Stay with us Spice 1

Jesus died at 33. Hmmm..... When he died we went back and listened to all the things she said and learned a lot of truth from it.  I'm going to take today and listen to all of the Pimp C songs I have (i have everything from Pimp C) and find the truth behind his music. When I listened to his music I felt free and full of power. Songs like "Look At Me" and "Top Notch Hoes" will always make me feel proud of who I am and what it is I do in life. Pimp on Pimp C. If heaven has a ghetto, I know he will provide all the thug angles with happiness. See you when I get home Pimp C, till then Rest In Peace Pimp
