This is just my opinion I am not trying to tell anyone else what to do. I am voting for Barack Obama because I think he has excellent ideas (Washington is going to change him they are going to attack him from all sides if he wins). I also was impressed by the work Barack has done working with Black men who are ex-cons, trying to get them acclimated back into this racist American society. He is advocating that ex-cons get their voting rights back as well.

Black people are politically apathetic. We know the machine is not for us, but we do nothing to counteract those forces. If we are completely sure that the American dream is a myth. What is our plan so we can stop dreaming? I am looking at the condition of Black America, and Black men in America and we are dreaming man. We are constantly on the horns of a dilemma. We know that there is racism and bias laws against us, but on the other hand we want to ignore the political process. We want people to start taking Hip Hop seriously, but we want to continue to act like children. We respect our hand full of multi-millionaires in this business like they are demi-gods, when most of them do nothing remotely powerful with their money from a socioeconomic point of view. I was just reading and article earlier  (www.yourblackworld.com) that stated that the disparity of incomes between blacks and whites have grown larger.  As a whole, our economy is slipping, but we as a group are one of the largest affected.  They suspect that this is largely due to the increase in employment amongst woman.  They say that the average white female makes moe income than the average black female and to further enhance the problem is the fact that there are more single parent households in the black community.

This is a frustrating but understandable fact.  It is no secret as to why we are doing so poorly as a race.  But the worst part about it is that so many of us protect our own ignorance.

"Ignorance is Bliss" goes to new heights in out communities.  It really is bliss.  And bliss beats out reality 3 to 1.

Too many dont want to live in reality, but instead want to live the false ideal of bliss.

I would love to see change but the best option right now is Hilary then Obama thats what I think is the best scenario for Democrats to get the white house back and for Obama to be the second black President (See Bill Clinton). The big picture is for us to get our team back in the white house. When clinton was there it was better for all of us. If we send Obama up now he will be Slaughtered I hope he gets the nomination and wins personally but realistically I cant see it. You have to go with the person who has the best shot at beating a republican that to me is more important. I think he will be president some day but not anytime soon. I dig what you saying.  And in fact, I am part of your age group.  The first presidential election I was of legal age to vote in was the Bush-Kerry one, and I did.

You are absolutely right about the urgency for youngstas to get more involved in the political process.  Too many unfortunately still arent confident in the political process here, for good reason I might add.  But, nothing will improve with the attitude of just not participating in the process.

So many black leaders fought for that priviledge and sadly it often goes in vain.

But hey, its not too late to get more involved.  People like us must encourage other people in our age bracket to engage in the voting process.

Just by engagin in more political convo during social settings would dramatically improve the turn out.  Most people just are misinformed.

Each of us can do our part by encouraging our friends and other loved ones to vote in next years election (doesnt matter who they support).

(CNSNews.com) - Former President Bill Clinton was honored as the nation's first black president Saturday at the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Annual Awards Dinner on in Washington, DC.

The chair of the all-Democratic caucus, Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Tex.), told the crowd that Clinton "took so many initiatives he made us think for a while we had elected the first black president."

Clinton, who has spoken at the caucus every year since his 1992 election, made reference to the September 11th terrorist attacks, saying that black Americans have seen these kinds of religious tactics before.

He described the terrorists' philosophy as "somebody who thinks that only people in their community count and we're not part of their community; that only their reading of the scripture counts and we don't read the way they do. We have been on the other end of that, and we say no, no, no."

Clinton said Arab Muslims and non-Arab Muslims who don't agree with the terrorists are considered apostates who have walked away from the faith. "And those of us who don't happen to fall in those categories are infidels and all of us are fair game."

"We have heard this story before. We want the America we see in this room tonight. We have come a long way from the time when people in our country thought it was all right to kill the innocent."

Clinton told CNSNews.com he was honored to be considered America's "first black president."

"I think it's a function of the work I have done, not just as president, but my whole public life to try to bridge the racial divide and the fact that even when I was a little boy I had friends who were African-American," he explained.

Clinton said that while he misses being president he has "a wonderful life now and I had the time that was allocated to me under the Constitution." He explained, "I have no regrets and I'm trying to go on and play a constructive role as a citizen now and I am quite happy with it."

My thing is, whether he was an ex-police officer, a police officer or a citizen, how does someone get 4months of jail time for RAPE? You took away a part of a person that they can never get back! Let's not even mention if its a child that was raped! I would like to see obama win it out but I cant see it happening right now if it does thats wasup cant see it though. Obama is making a run and looks like he may get the demo nod. But he is a serious underdog not cause of his color because of his experience. IF she wins the Democratic nod I will vote for her if Obama does I will vote for him.

Everybody wants to see change but you have to know the game your playing to be able to make change happen. He doesnt have the overall experience or the connections and advisers that she does. One of the presidents that has looked out for US more then any other is her Top Advisor that is a huge advantage. Obama has Oprah - Hillary has Bill I say advantage hillary all the way. Obama is the man but I think to convince the sector that he needs he is going to have to prove himself in a Cabinet position. I think V.P. would be perfect I dont see why anybody wouldnt want another clinton in the office. Husband or Wife they both were TREMENDOUS supporters of the causes that I support and believe in. Obama is unproven. I like what he stands for and says but he is new and I cant commit to him unless he is the only choice for the demo's which is not guranteed. Clinton will win and Obama will either stay a senator and try again which would be wrong but he may do that. They are sniping at each other day to day but they both want the top job nothing wrong with it. Allot of people wont like the idea of him being her VP but that may be the case.

I think you should maybe read up on Obama if you haven't to find out his history if you haven't..It sounds like you only know of what you've seen since he hit the scene..I read his first autobiography so I know what he stands for and I hope it gets it..I keep trying to tell people that Hillary doesn't have the same stance as Bill on certain issues and before we jump to conclusions we should look at her voting records and see how's she's voted on things of importance to us..Have you done that? I'll give you the fact she maybe learned a lot being First Lady when Bill was Governor and President but you are seriously lacking knowledge of Barack..You posting stuff you picked up over the internet..Read a book about the man and his life before you determine his lack of experience and knowledge..He has worked hand in hand with underprivileged people for over 25 years..Hillary has done a lot but her experience is in dealing with creating different programs to assist..It makes a difference when you have both, which he does.. Also, Barack has more support from the white community than you think..I've seen that you feel the only way he can win is if he gets all the minorities out..I disagree because it's not that many blacks in Iowa and the race is pretty close there..

This a national game when you running for president not a local or state wide game. Its national and in that area his experience is limited. I like the guy and would vote for him if he gets the nod. Latest news is he is tied with hillary in N.H. which means he could get the nod and maybe she would consider his VP. I am a news junkie expecially politics watch across the board CNN, Foxnews I watch and read them all. Doesnt make me an expert but I am looking at it strictly from a political side and he is inexperienced Nationally. I think people should vote period then we would be better represented across the board. If he won it would shake the country at its foundation but lets not forget he is a politician regardless of his color and politicans in general dont have a track record. Just look outside and see how man of your issues have been addressed. I like in a democratic city and they still dont do their jobs.
