BALTIMORE (Map, News) - On HBO’s The Wire, she’s the most ruthless hit woman in Baltimore. In real life, Felicia Pearson and a friend, Steven Lashley, 28, of Dundalk, were hanging out along The Block in Baltimore at 2:20 a.m. on Sept. 22, 2005, when Pearson got involved in an argument with a man named Tyrell Roseborough inside New York Fried Chicken, police said.

“The argument appears to have started because Tyrell attempted to ‘holler’ at Felicia Pearson and she rebuffed him,” Baltimore homicide detective Todd Corriveau wrote in a report. “At the time, Lashley and Felicia Pearson were friends and sometimes met with each other/sat in strip clubs on ‘the block.’ ”

The argument escalated, with Lashley joining on Pearson’s side and Tyrell Roseborough’s brother, Raymond, and friend, Stanley Thomas, joining on his side, police said.

Police officers then entered the eatery and made the five people leave.

C-Murder's murder trial delayed again


Three weeks before being scheduled to face a jury for the second time, C-Murder aka Corey Miller's trial was pushed back until June 9th. Lawyers in the trial attribute to delay to problems with witnesses arising, according to the Associated Press.

Murder is facing charges of 2nd degree murder stemming from the January 12th, 2002, death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas, a fan of his who was shot in the chest outside of a Louisiana nightclub.

A jury in 2003 unanimously convicted Murder, however months later Judge Martha Sassone awarded him a new trial after finding that prosecutors improperly withheld background information on three defense witnesses.

The state Supreme Court upheld Sassone's decision in 2006, ordering the second trial.

Murder is currently under house arrest as a condition of his $500,000 bond, which allows him to travel in order to promote his music and a book he wrote while in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.

PHILADELPHIA - A man who spent long hours each day playing video games was convicted Tuesday of killing his 17-month-old daughter when she pulled down his Xbox console.

Prosecutors believe Tyrone Spellman pummeled Alayiah Turman, cracking her skull several times, while her pregnant mother napped in another room in September 2006.

Jurors rejected arguments that Spellman confessed to protect the mother and convicted him of third-degree murder and child endangerment. He was acquitted of first-degree murder. He could be sentenced to about 23 to 47 years in prison.

Spellman fled the house after the beating, and the mother, Mia Turman, had no reason to go in the bedroom where the baby was found, prosecutors said.

"He (Spellman) spent six to seven hours a day in there playing Xbox," Assistant District Attorney James Berardinelli said.

Spellman, 27, of Philadelphia, confessed to police the next day, but defense lawyer Bobby Hoof noted that his statement came after 24 hours in custody.

"He's not happy with the verdict. He does not agree with the verdict, but he respects the jury verdict," Hoof said of Spellman.

An autopsy showed that Alayiah had suffered a broken arm about two weeks before she died — an injury that city social workers did not see on two visits to the house in late August, when they found the baby well.

The city took custody of the couple's second daughter, born after Alayiah's death.

I can't believe that this minister still has a congregation. I can't say I'm surprised though. Blacks shit on each other more than anyone else. And the shit has got to stop.

Oschino interview was kind of interesting. The Roc obviously had a lot of problems towards the end of their hey day. And he's right, Kanye is the Roc. He's the only one on the Roc who can move units on his own, w/o Jay-Z backing him up. Cause Kanye's music is more appealing to a broader base of people, whereas artists' like Sigel and Free appeal to a smaller base. But that's not a bad thing though. Bottom line though, Jay loved the shine, like Nas said in Ether.  I always liked Oschino and Sparks though, I thought they were ill when they first popped up on the scene.

The thing I have a problem about is the fact that he's mad he can't call Jay for 10g's. I know Jay has it, but just because you have money, it doesn't mean that you should walk around throwing money at people. It breeds laziness. If you are going through a tough time in life and you really need some financial help and you get it that's one thing. What you do after you get that help is the issue. If you get that bread and you sit around spending it foolishly then I don't think I can help you out next time.

I often thought that people who have money should just give some of it away simply because they had it. But then you have to realize that some people really have issues that money will not fix. If someone is an alcoholic, or an addict, throwing money at them is not going to help, in fact it will probably make the situation worse. It seems to me that too many people depend on other cats to do sh*t for them instead of standing on their own.

I know Martin Luther King Jr. (Just one of many) went to jail a bunch of times for boycotting and protesting, so in that regard, I understand where the minister is coming from. But you have to know that the media is going to put it out there so that it has a negative connotation.   Now speaking of Barack Obama, he wasn't at that age where he was walking the streets protesting because Blacks couldn't use the same bathroom as whites (amongst larger, more important issues), thanks to those before him.

I feel what you and Scientist said to a degree. When Blacks were able to get ahead financially, the Civil Rights movement pretty much died at that point. It was like they threw us a bone to keep us docile and quiet. And for the most part, it has worked beautifully in their eyes. Look at hip-hop, it started with people making party music and from there it evolved. And some of them chose to make powerful, positive and uplifting messages to where we are today, a bunch of fake ass hustlers. Now they did have the "happy" records also, but there wasn't such a lack of music with substance back then. Now, if you're not dancing, you're selling drugs. It's ridiculous.

that minister news is kinda old,,they should have the video on youtbe I seen it,,,I don't think he meant it that way it prolly came out wrong,cause if you see the vid he's trying to make a referance to MLK,and Farahkan,and other Afro American activist leader that were persecuted for their beliefs and actions in the past, he carried on by saying that all the biggest Afro American leaders that are recognized today for their peace work have been incarserated at least one time,,, I guess you have to see to get an opinion on it
