To B honest I was quite supprized by 50's it was a betta then I expected, alot ov phat tunes, the worst ones are the singles, which dont do it any justice, quite A few phat lines I like, like 'Ask Preme homey 50 dont back down' its A ghetto album, simala to the sondtrack to His movie, which was basically A 50 album with alot ov guest i.e Mobb Deep and Ma$e, over all, its betta than Massacre, not quite as good as Get Rich, it deserves more credit than people gave it. He switches up His flow aswell if U LISTIN to albums properly and pay attention, its quite interestin, He sumtimes goes ov like Em or Jay, the way He finishes the last line on the begin ov the first, if U kno wot I mean???lol Its good, coz He obviously worked His bollocks ov inventin nu shit and I guess progressed as A artist.
Kanye's album iz good, but its SO simala to His other shit, which I thought I wud B sayin ov 50's!!! He goes on bout the same shit, okey 50 talks bout gangsta shit, but so do most rappers, they say diffrent gangsta shit lol Kanyes goes on bout droppin outta school, semesters, mayonaise Benz's, teachers, money problems, dilemmas with Jesus etc. Gangsta shit like 50's can B more varied if U kno wot I mean, where iz theres only so many ways U can talk bout wot Kanye chats about. Kayne's dissapointed Me abit, theres also A few lines I herd Him say times B4, but He also has the typical cleaver and witty Kanye lines to, dont get Me wrong its its A good album, wen He changes the subject like on track 13, is A killa, He talks bout Jay-Z 'His Older Brother' all in all, U cant say whoes iz betta, there totality diffrent albums, it all depends what mood Ur in. There both pretty good. Not Amazing. But pretty damm good. Worth supporting and goin out and coppin not copying.

I am from the slums. I attended a county high school through the desegregation program because the city of st. louis thought it would be better to spend money on the baseball field, instead of the cities high school. As a result many of the inner city and county high schools where blacks live and pay taxes or not a-credited high schools and the desegregation programs are long gone.

I graduated year 2000 and I myself and I'm black, so this is still current. I experience being treated different all througout 1st grade throughout college. I graduated from University amissouri Rolla with an Electrical Engineering degree. During my time in school teachers always treated me different and they opted to give me lower grades than I deserved, as if C's were exceptable because of my black skin.

How dare you or anybody else challenge what we have been through in this kountry? I have been klosed to being beat by police numerous times more than I kan kount on my two hands.

Because of my last blog, and all the wonderful feedback I got..it made me think...

This is gonna be hard guys. I LOVE the comedians on BET. I also LOVE the fact that they play my favorite show of all time, In Living Color. However, I do not believe in seperating ANY RACE in America. WE ARE AMERICANS! How dare we have Black History Month! In my eyes, the Native Americans deserve it MUCH more, seeing how we destroyed their ENTIRE SOCIETY. There are hardly any of them left! They also have been proven to have the WORST living conditions on their reservations. I want AN AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH. One where we learn about EVERY race, ALL OF OUR LEADERS, EVERYONE! I think by having a month dedicated to one race, and not one for any other, is RACIST. Every fund set up to only help people of one race is SICK and RACIST.

Yes, I get it. Black people were slaves here once. You know what? That does suck some major balls, however, it is time to move the fuck on. Do we hear the Jews crying that they were made slaves for thousands of years? Do we hear them whine that they should OWN the pyramids in Egypt because THEY broke their backs making them? Do we hear them bitch and moan about Hitler, etc? (my hubby is a Jew)Nope, we dont. It's time for us to UNITE AS ONE. I do not think that singling out one race, giving one race opportunities to go to college (I know a TON of poor white.asian, indian, american indian, etc etc that could use that too!), giving one race the EXCUSE to blame things on others for being whatever nationality they are, is a good way at making sure we NEVER kill racism.

Instead, I will see it the way that Morgan Freeman does (I have the quote at the bottom of my last blog on Obama/jesseJackson, and OJ). AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH! I will read/watch/and learn about ALL the people who made a difference in this country.

I am asking you ALL to join me. Black, White, Indian, Asian, Russian, Australian, etc etc.....lets be AMERICANS together! What happened to the African American community was AMERICAN HISTORY, not BLACK HISTORY. If you want to celebrate in a way that excludes others and singles one race out, count me the FUCK out! I am soooo proud to be an American. I am SO proud that I have friends of every race, and none of us see each other as anything but what we are..people. Lets change Black History Month to 2 months of AMERICAN HISTORY. We will still learn about all the black leaders and people who made a difference....just not with the racist name of "Black History Month". It has to start somewhere. I am going to do my part in making sure we are all treated EQUAL in a country that CLAIMS we are. NO MORE SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR ANYONE WITH ANYTHING!

It will never happen. At least, that is what many of you will say...FINE! My number one priority here is being able to die and know that I stood up for what I believed in, and that I did not add to the SEPERATION OF AMERICANS!! I love my country, I love the people in it. I love our history, good and bad. We should LEARN from it,not dwell in it and not move forward. That's why I am done with this shit. Do these mega artists have power? Sure. Not Oprah power, but they don't have Oprah money. Think of this: How many people you know that don't like hip hop drink vitamin water? My mom dukes drinks vitamin water. No one drank it before 50 cent. So it could be said he has the power to sway America's taste buds, right? When Kingdome Come was dropping, you saw Jay-Z everywhere. He might not own his own promotion company, but he should, because he was everywhere. Jigga was on Monday Night Football. Every beer commercial you saw for 2 months was 30 seconds of the Show Me What You Got video with a Budweiser symbol at the end.

It's a touchy subject because no they don't have the power to change the entire nation's opinion the way Oprah does. But what if Diddy had his own TV show everyday in the same fashion Ms. O does? Oprah put in her work, she's been doin it for a long time. Is that to say that a rapper or hip hop mogul couldn't get on TV and do the same and have that same power? I'm not so sure. I mean, you can't take any rapper and put him/her on TV and expect it to have the same results.

I think Kanye could have that power, if he wasn't such a 'cry baby'. He's a passionate cat, and people respect that. If he could find a way to express how he feels without sounding like a toddler, he would have much more success in other aspects besides being a rapper. He's just one example.

But I don't think rappers have that kind of power right now, but can gain it, if they chose.

They don't have the power of say the Bush family, or Ted Turner, or Bill Gates. But they're all so valuable to the moguls above them that it gives them a playing chip. No top level boss in his right mind would blackball those guys unless they want to risk losing a nice sized percentage of their dough. Cause if they don't fool with them, chances are somebody will. I think you hit a good point though.......cause if you notice, Jay-Z is trying to be that powerful dude. The 40/40 clubs around the world, the Nets deal, etc. He, Puff, and 50 seem to be making those types of moves. As far as actually running the REAL show? Jigga Man is the one in the position to take over if he wants to. He's the president of a major record label, and has them sweating over what his next move is gonna be. He's part owner of the Nets, and he's trying to get the naming rights of their arena.

No he doesn't own a major studio, or own the company that owns the record label. YET. He's still a young man, relatively speaking. He's making moves. He's what, 37 or 38? Give him 10-15 years and see where he's at.

I also kinda think maybe it's a thing where rappers don't want to own the companies that own the labels, or make the movies, or what have you. Rappers catch enough shit about the "downfall of society" and they just rap, and sell clothes. Imagine what the media would have to say every time S. Carter pictures put out a movie like Saving Private Ryan. "There is no need to show that much gore and blood and death in a movie. It is absolutely disgusting and Jay-Z should be murdered, today."

Oprah's been on national TV every single day for 20+ years. That means that for two decades, people from every walk of life, every race, have had the oppertunity to listen to what she has to say every single day.

If Jay-Z got his own show like that, it wouldn't take him half that time, because of his pre existing fame.

@BigSlimFL ....thanx for posting that blog on boycotting BET. I see what Adrianne Curry is trying to say in it, but I disagree with a lot. Just because we do away with Black History Month or BET won't stop the unfair racial treatment of black Americans. Doing away with any special considerations for race wouldn't have stopped what happened to the Jena 6. The same injustices will go on, but WAY below the radar if we don't stick together and maintain somewhat of our own cultural nationalism. It's that unified front that makes us harder to fuck with. What bothers me about people who say 'get over it' is they seem to forget that it was just about 40 yrs ago that we couldn't even use the same bathroom as a white person. We had to scratch and claw to get what little bit we have today and some of the things that represent that are Black History Month, BET, and MLK Day. She was wrong about the whole Jew thing in my opinion. They mention the holocaust every month or make a movie about it. What did they get for their troubles?? A whole damn country, Israel and it's protected by America like it's a part of America. What do Black Americans get?? A small slice of the pie and "Get Over It". Slavery was just as bad as the holocaust, maybe even worse. Then to be treated like slime for years and years after didn't help. We have a cultural memory and each generation passes on that pain and hurt, so we can't just 'Get Over It'. I didn't experience any of that stuff, but I still hurt from it for some reason. A prison inmate who had implicated a former Los Angeles Police Department officer in the shooting death of rap star Biggie Smalls has renounced his story, tying a new knot in the tangle of intrigue that surrounds the still-unsolved killing.

Waymond Anderson, who was briefly a top-selling R&B artist and is serving a life term for murder, said in a recent deposition that he lied about LAPD involvement in the Smalls slaying as part of a "scam" concocted by two other convicts to squeeze a large monetary settlement out of the city.

Smalls' family has filed a wrongful death suit seeking damages from the city. In a surprising twist, Anderson accused the rapper's family and its lawyer of participating in the scheme and offering to pay him for false testimony implicating the LAPD.

He said he was offered a percentage of any settlement if he testified that former Los Angeles Officer Rafael Perez had told him that another ex-officer, David Mack, was involved in the murder. In the deposition, he repudiated earlier statements to police investigators in which he described conversations with both of the disgraced officers.

"I don't know David Mack, I don't know Rafael Perez," Anderson told lawyers representing relatives of the slain rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace.

The two officers "had no involvement with the . . . murder," Anderson said under oath. At various points in the deposition, he said, "It was a lie, and I'm ashamed of it," and, "I did what I had to do to survive."

The slain rapper also was known as Notorious B.I.G. He was gunned down outside the Petersen Automotive Museum in the Mid-Wilshire District after a music industry party on March 9, 1997.

Anderson's testimony, given Aug. 20, was an unexpected reversal for the Wallace family lawyers, who presumably assumed that he would tell the same story he had earlier told detectives.

In some of his most explosive testimony, Anderson charged that the family's lawyer, Perry R. Sanders Jr., offered to pay him to lie in court about Perez and Mack.

Sanders, a Louisiana lawyer who also has offices in Colorado Springs, Colo., said Anderson's allegations were "100%, demonstrably false."

"This is wholesale, made-up-out-of-whole-cloth perjury," he said in an interview.

Sanders added that Anderson appeared to have been acting at the behest of a Times reporter, Chuck Philips, who has written extensively about Wallace's death, including articles that raised questions about the theory that LAPD officers were involved.

The Times published an article by Philips earlier this year that cast doubt on Anderson's conviction in a 1993 arson-murder. Anderson has since filed a writ of habeas corpus seeking his release.

Sanders said Anderson "clearly would like to please Mr. Philips, because he's singing his song, first, second and third verse and certainly the chorus."

In a court filing after the deposition, two attorneys working with Sanders on the Wallace case suggested that an unidentified "third party" had induced Anderson to commit perjury.

Sanders offered no evidence to support his argument, except to say that Philips had been a "detractor" of the Wallace family's theory of the case.

Philips, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for his coverage of corruption in the entertainment industry, called Sanders' claim "idiotic."

"This guy clearly doesn't understand what an investigative reporter does for a living," he said. "I don't make up stories, I report them."

Times Editor James O'Shea said Sanders' accusations against Philips were "utterly groundless."

Sanders had an Encino lawyer, David Byers, write several letters to The Times threatening a libel suit if the paper published the "outrageous and false statements" in Anderson's deposition. But Byers also encouraged the paper to "do a story" about Anderson's motivations in making the statements.

Regarding the threat to sue, O'Shea said: "This deposition is part of a public lawsuit against public institutions in Los Angeles. We have an obligation and a right to report on it, and we will."

The wrongful death suit, brought by Wallace's mother, Voletta Wallace, and his widow, Faith Evans, accuses the LAPD, and specifically Mack, of responsibility for the rap star's death.

Mack is serving a federal prison term for stealing $722,000 from a bank near USC. His former patrol partner, Perez, became the central figure in the scandal that rocked the LAPD's Rampart Division. Both men were on the police force when Wallace was gunned down.

Mack has never been charged in the killing and has denied any involvement. In 2005, in an accusation that has echoes in Anderson's claim, he said Sanders and another lawyer offered him financial inducements to cooperate with the family's lawsuit. At the time, Mack's lawyer referred the alleged offer to the U.S. attorney's office, which did not pursue the matter. Sanders denied the allegation.

Wallace was one of the two biggest stars in rap music when he was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting. The other, Tupac Shakur, was shot to death in Las Vegas the year before.

Various theories have linked the two homicides, neither of which has been solved. Some believe the two men were killed as part of a rivalry between East Coast and West Coast rappers, or between their two music labels, Marion "Suge" Knight's Death Row Records, based in Los Angeles, and New York-based Bad Boy Entertainment.

In his deposition, conducted at the state Substance Abuse Treatment Facility at Corcoran prison, where he is incarcerated, Anderson testified that a fellow inmate, Kenneth Boagni, approached him sometime in 2001 and asked him to join a scheme to implicate the LAPD in the Wallace murder to aid the Wallace family lawsuit. He said he was promised 5% to 10% of any settlement.

Anderson said that Boagni, a one-time police informant serving a 40-year term for burglary, told him he had already received $25,000, beginning with a $2,500 payment from Sanders to repair plumbing at his mother's house. Anderson said a third convict, Mario Hammonds, was also in on the scheme.

"They wanted me to corroborate with them this story that they had concocted together," Anderson testified.

The story, he said, was that "we all three could verify that Rafael Perez and David Mack were involved with the crime of the murder of Christopher Wallace."

Anderson said he subsequently had a phone conversation with someone identifying himself as Sanders. "He asked me if I received the message from his guys, and the message was that he was willing to pay me for participation in the scam against the city," he said.

Asked for comment, Sanders said he had not been retained by the Wallace family and was not familiar with the case until after Boagni had left Corcoran. Therefore, he said, Boagni could not have told Anderson about Sanders' involvement.

The attorney said he became involved in the case after reading about it in Rolling Stone magazine, which published an article in its June 7, 2001, edition, which was available online May 18. Boagni was in Corcoran from Feb. 27 to May 24 of that year.

"The lawsuit that we filed that put my name out there in the public, we didn't file that until sometime in early 2002," Sanders said. "There was no way anybody would have known to get hold of me." The lawsuit was filed April 9, 2002.

In his testimony, Anderson said Boagni called Anderson's wife repeatedly this summer, renewing the promise of money if he testified as instructed. He said Boagni first offered $25,000, then $50,000, then $75,000, and that ultimately, Voletta Wallace, in a message delivered through another inmate, offered him $150,000.

Asked if the Wallace family denied those charges, Byers said: "It goes way beyond denial. They're demonstrably false and defamatory."

i, like jrzeema, believe in teaching kids to defend themselves (altho i also think that can be taken to the extreme sometimes, but that's a whole other topic). at the same time, i was raised by my momma (just me and her) and she always had my back from a youngsta all the way up to being a young lady (i don't fight anymore). granted we are also more like sisters than mother & daughter. she would come up to the school in a minute if she felt she needed to. but she is/was also very confrontational
with anyone. she's been known to get into it with men, women, and children alike! LMAO now that's ghetto!

but what can i say? i try not to be that extreme. but i can say in all honestly, i will let a kid know what's up if they seriously bullying or threatening mine and be looking for they momma. of course, i will try to scare the shit out of a youngsta first, but if that don't work, i might would just whoop they little ass (depending on the circumstances). luckily, my older son (altho a little guy, like his pops) got heart and always been a hard nose. so he always handled his own and only when absolutely necessary.

but here's an example:
when i was like 6 or 7 y.o. my & my momma lived in this apartment bldg. with hella kids and all that. we had hella fun all the time. but there was this fat girl who was like 12 or 13 y.o. she had serious emotional issues cause her momma (an older church lady) was always calling the police on her daughter because she would always physically attack her mother. NEway, one day i stayed around the bldg. with the other kids while moms went grocery shopping.

needless to say, soon as my momma left, this girl got to fucking with me: teasing me, hitting me, etc. so i'm crying sitting on the porch waiting for moms to come home cause i can't get inside the apartment anyway. so she arrives and sees me stressed all out. she went all the way bad. she went and found the girl and slapped the SHIT outta her! no joke left marks and shit! see i already knew not to fuck with moms (cause she was my momma and used to fuck me up too). but i guess April (LOL) didn't. so her and her momma come to the house later looking for some problems, but not really. and she didn't fuck with no more after that, i can tell u that.

now i'm sure if it would've been a fair match up my momma woulda just made us fight, but it was no competition (size, age, etc., and plus the issue had been going on for a while). so moms handled it...

granted this is a different day, you can't really whoop your own kids ass no more, so you really can't be whoopin nobody else's.

my 2 cents...and i know some of y'all got crazy mommas like mine, don't front! ;)

Co-sign what you said about Jewish being a religion and not an ethnic background. That points to homegirl's ignorance in that she used Jews as a comparison to blacks. I think she meant well in her heart, but it was filtered through very Americanized ideology. It was on some "Can't we all get along" *ish*.

Chris Rock couldn't have said it better though. A lot of people disagree with Affirmative Action and I'm a believer that the best person should always be hired for the job, but who's to say that was was happening before Affirmative Action? Often times, the best applicant might have been a 'minority', but the white boss felt more comfortable hiring someone who looked like them. I think it's necessary.

I co-sign, because as a white man, I know and acknowledge that I will never fully understand the struggle of the black man or woman. I would never pretend to.

That being said..I agree with some points Adrianne Curry made, and disagree with some. Do I see it as racist that there is a black history month and not a white history month? No. I feel that history should be history. I think it's sad the government has thrown this label on February like we shouldn't be learning black history every single month, the same way we do european, and white american history.

As far as BET, I think they could do a lot more with the programming they put on the air. A lot of young people, white, black and other don't sit down and watch the nightly news. We depend on what we read on the internet and see on TV to inform us. A lot of the youth watches BET, MTV, and what have you. Instead of having ComicView on every single night, or playing Hell Date for 3 hours straight, they could play a news program. Instead of having The Hills marathon, or The Real World on for 28 hours a day, MTV could use just an hour out of the day for actual news that informs people of things going on.

I, myself, fall in to this category, as I sit around and watch ESPN all day. But while I'm doing this, I'm reading from my local news website, reading from CNN's and MSNBC's website. There's a lot of things going on that 99% of the youth in America has no idea bout, and the last way to get their attention is to ban a network, or boycott it without at least trying to get them to change their ways.

I don't feel its right to compare black people with the jews, because it's 2 completely seperate situations. Apples to oranges, if you will.

i think that this Adrian Curry MIGHT be well intentioned in tryna get past the whole divide and conquer thing. but the reality is that she is a victim of white privilege. i say “victim” because her whole thought process is based upon that without even being aware of that privilege, like MOST, if not ALL white folks. it’s a part of their socialization process. it doesn’t make them racist, necessarily. however, due to this privilege they don’t have to be aware and they continue to benefit from racism.

has anyone ever read the article, “Unpacking the Knapsack of White Privilege” by Peggy MacIntosh? she’s a white feminist scholar who did an internal survey of how she is, in fact, privileged as white woman despite being oppressed from a gender context. it’s excellent because she is keeping it hella real. i wish all white folks would read it, but it’s also a good read for people of color.

NEway, u know i’m not a black chick and all that, but nevertheless i do believe i understand the plight of the black community, simply from being raised within that community plus focusing my education around these issues. but i do agree, that if you are not a Black American (unless there were some sort of extenuating circumstances), you probably don’t understand because each racial/ethnic/cultural group can usually only see through their own cultural lens. which is exactly why i love being multicultural. ;)

As far as black history month, I was brought up hearing from my friends and their parents "we only get one month out the year, and the shortest month at that." I guess thats where my thinking comes from, that Black history should be along side every other history, taught every day...I also kinda think that having one month fuels the "you have your month, what else do you want" mentality that some people (unfortunately) have.

Carey has the record for the best debut on the Hot 100. At sixteen weeks at number one, "We Belong Together" is the longest running single on the Hot 100 Airplay chart by a solo artist. "We Belong Together" has recorded the best-ever one day listener figure after it registered with 32.8 million listeners on American radio in a single day. Carey is the artist with most weeks at number one on the Hot 100 Airplay charts with a total of 89 weeks. It must be noted that the Hot 100 Airplay chart was first published in the Dec. 8, 1990 issue of Billboard. That means that Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love" never appeared on this tally, because it was a hit before the chart existed. "We Belong Together" held the record for topping the most Billboard charts simultaneously, when it occupied the top position on nine charts on the week ending August 6, 2005 but was later topped by Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable" when it simultaneously went to #1 on tweleve different charts on the week ending December 30, 2006. . It went to number one on The Billboard Hot 100, the Hot 100 Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Pop 100 Airplay, the Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic Top 40, Hot Dance Music/Club Play, and the Hot Ringtones. The week before, it broke its own record of topping eight Billboard charts. Artist/ Activist Mos Def along with M1, Talib Kweli, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, Sankofa Community Empowerment, Change the Game, National Hip Hop Political Convention, Hip Hop Association, and student leaders from 50 campuses call for a National Student Walk-Out to rally and show support for the Jena 6, who are being denied their human rights by the Louisiana criminal justice system.

The Case of the Jena 6

Last fall, when two Black high school students sat under the "white" tree on their campus, white students responded by hanging nooses from the tree. When Black students protested the light punishment for the students who hung the nooses, District Attorney Reed Walters came to the school and told the students he could "take [their] lives away with a stroke of [his] pen." Racial tension continued to mount in Jena , and the District Attorney did nothing in response to several egregious cases of violence and threats against Black students. But when a white student--who had been a vocal supporter of the student's who hung the nooses, taunted a Black student, called several Black students "nigger"--sustained minor injuries from a school fight, six Black students were charged with second-degree attempted murder. Last month, the first young man to be tried, Mychal Bell, was convicted. He faced up to 22 years in prison for a school fight until the Black people began to organize and his conviction was thrown out because he was tried as an adult. However the DA and the Judge still refuse to set a reasonable bail or to drop the charges in this case and Mychal is still in jail!!

Mos Def is asking students worldwide to assist in the fight against racial injustice and show solidarity for these young people, who have been treated unequally by the law. The prosecution of these young men symbolizes a terrible miscarriage of justice, by punishing students who opposed segregation in their schools and disregarding the threatening acts of others who advocate it.

Judge J.P. Mauffray and District Attorney Reed Walters have engaged in a string of egregious actions, the most recent of which was the denial of bail for Bell on Friday. We call for:

1. All charges against the Jena 6 be dropped

2. The immediate release of Mychal Bell

3. The United States Department of Justice to convene an immediate inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the arrests and prosecutions of the Jena 6;

4. Judge Mauffray to be recused from presiding over Bell 's juvenile court hearings or other proceedings;

5. The Louisiana Office of Disciplinary Counsel to investigate Reed Walters for unethical and possibly illegal conduct;

6. The Louisiana Judiciary Commission investigate Judge Mauffray for unethical conduct; and

7. The Jena School District superintendent to be removed from office.

even tho i've said it a million times b4: i don't identify as white. but i feel obliged to respond because i do know that i am half-Italian. some may call that self-hate, some might call that confusion, some might call that denial. i call it my right and privilege as a person of biracial heritage. i am entitled to define myself as i see fit. at the same time, my desire to respond could just be related to the fact that i always got something to say! LMAO

nevertheless, i am not offended by BP1's statement at all. i think that what he is saying is true. on a global, historical, and political white folks have showed us how they get down...i've already spoke on my personal history previously, as to why i see things the way i do. so my statement should be self-explanatory.

i also think that BigSlimFL has a point too...there are snakes of every shade. the difference is that people of color don't hold positions of power, so their lies or racism doesn't have the same impact as that of white folks. i haven't had enough contact with white people (outside of some professors & classmates) to be able to say that what BP 1 stated can apply to white folks in general, but as he already noted, he wasn't making that statement towards white folks in general. but i will admit as a general rule, i don't trust 'em. but then i don't trust anybody 100%. so that might not mean much. i go what i see, shady people always show their true colors, so to speak.

at the same time i don't let that mistrust bias me against being objective with them and give them a chance. i can be cool with white folks and all that, but in my limited experience with them, i have often found myself frustrated by the fact that they really don't "get it" very often. and if they don't happen to "get it," i can't fuck with them. straight up...

i'm feeling disenchanted at the fact that this white girl that we grew up with, who didn't seem white when were younger (the 5% folks even had her claiming devil status and all that; she wanted to be civilized! LOL) has grown up and is actually white! to my surprise! now we on two different ends of the spectrum and i'm ready to cut her ass off. i feel betrayed...she done flipped and threw me for a loop, fa real. more to the story, but that's just an example of my experience with white people...

but in all honesty, i think AHH is helping me to gain a little more positive awareness in regards to white folks, than i had previously, just based on the ones i've met here...

It's gonna take from now until the end of time pretty much, because so much has gone wrong, and it's gonna take a movement like we've never seen to get it done.

I'm tryin not to focus on the past because my people been raping other cultures since day one. I'm looking ahead to see what I can do to bridge the gap. I'm doing positive things so that one day when I have kids, I can teach them that history doesn't have to repeat itself. It's good to know where you came from and learn from the mistakes others have made.

I don't really identify with most of the white people I grew up with either. They were rich jocks. People who knew privlige. I grew up poor and had to wear glasses from a young age, so I learned how to fight rich white kids real young. The bullshit propaganda that they shove down the throats of the impressionable is easier to swallow as an affluent white kid, because you watched your parents buy it. I saw alot of people grow up in a world that I knew I would never be a part of. That's why I hung out in the street. Glad I did too, but no matter how much I dislike the wealthy white power structure, I still can't dance very well. Oh and I still like mayonaisse.

I feel sorry for the security gaurds at the place I used to live. They were targets for shit. They'd be up in our place with the cops all the time before we got kicked out. Man, I've seen all that kinda shit. It's hard to tell off people you know well for being racist, but it's the only way.
