Waiting on Illseed to do a shout out to Tyler Perry for having the NUMBER 1 movie in the box offices and shutting down George Clooney movie??? People/Critics have ripped Tyler apart about this movie and how he has ONLY 2000 some theater showing his picture while George had over 3200 theater and Tyler still blew him out the water........

Big Shouts out the cast of "Why Did I Get Married?": The movie was amazing and well written. Janet and Jill did the d@mn. Both actress did better than Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.... I think Janet and Jill both ACTUALLY deserve Golden Global and Oscar Nom next year and to take any credit away from Tasha Smith or Sharon Neal, they did a excellent too, but I think Janet and Jill shine throughout the whole movie....

If you haven't seen the movie, you should! We all need to support our brothers and sisters (especiall Tyler Perry) in the theater and prove to white America that our movie do mean something and to take us serious because we all aren't from the hood and talk ghetto all the time in the movies/television. We can have positive movies as well as white America.

These last two weeks I have been on a promotional tour for MARRIED. 9 states, 25 private screenings, several TV and radio appearances; all in about 12 days! And let me tell you--it has taken a toll.

- I have been told that since I'm not in a dress this movie wouldn't work.

- I have been called a racist (among other things) because there are no other races represented in this film (that's not something that I ever think about...I just want to tell a good story).

- I have been lied to, tricked, deceived.
There was one reporter, who I was told was coming from New York to do a favorable piece. She sat in my office and smiled and asked me all kinds of questions. When the article came out it was all out of context and all about how my movies are the worst thing that have ever happened to Black people and that I am doing nothing but modern day step-and-fetch it, and that I'm just trying to get rich. I was shocked and quite upset by the trickery. Not only by her but also the things that were said about this movie in print were so awful. Several Hollywood trades didn't even mention that MARRIED was a contender for number one. They thought that the number one would be George Clooney's movie or Mark Walbrurg's movie.

Now I had never ever read any of this stuff in the past, but for some reason I felt lead to read it this time. The venom and disdain for what I do was apparent. And speaking of venom, what they did to Janet was unacceptable. Janet, who was under no obligation at all to promote this movie, sat with me while I was doing a round of TV interviews. Half way through the three hours of sitting in the same spot she was attacked by a reporter on a Sacramento morning show who only wanted to talk about the Super Bowl incident.

just stand there, so with a mighty effort of will she picked up one foot

and stepped forward and followed with the other foot and was on the

elevator.

Avoiding eye contact, she turned around stiffly and faced the elevator

doors as they closed. A second passed, and then another second, and then

another. Her fear increased!

The elevator didn't move. Panic consumed her. 'My God,' she thought, I'm

trapped and about to be robbed! 'Her heart plummeted.

Perspiration poured from every pore.

Then one of the men said, 'Hit the floor.'

Instinct told her to do what they told her. The bucket of quarters flew

upwards as she threw out her arms and collapsed on the elevator floor.

A shower of coins rained down on her. Take my money and spare me, she

prayed. More seconds passed. She heard one of the men say politely,

'Ma'am, if you'll just tell us what floor you're going to, we'll push

the button.'

The one who said it had a little trouble getting the words out. He was

trying mightily to hold in a belly laugh. The woman lifted her head and

looked up at the two men. They reached down to help her up. Confused,

she struggled to her feet. 'When I told my friend here to hit the

floor,' said the average sized one, 'I meant that he should hit the

elevator button for our floor.

I didn't mean for you to hit the floor, ma'am.' He spoke genially. He

bit his lip. It was obvious he was having a hard time not laughing. The

woman thought: 'My God, what a spectacle I've made of myself.' She was

too humiliated to speak. She wanted to blurt out an apology, but words

failed her.

How do you apologize to two perfectly respectable gentlemen for behaving

as though they were going to rob you? She didn't know what to say. The

three of them gathered up the strewn quarters and refilled her bucket.

When the elevator arrived at her floor they then insisted on walking her

to her room. She seemed a little unsteady on her feet, and they were

afraid she might not make it down the corridor. At her door they bid her

a good evening.

As she slipped into her room she could hear them roaring with laughter

as they walked back to the elevator. The woman brushed herself off. She

pulled herself together and went downstairs for dinner with her husband.

The next morning flowers were delivered to her room - a dozen yellow

roses.

Attached to EACH rose was a crisp one hundred dollar bill.

The card said: 'Thanks for the best laugh we've had in years.'

@butrflygrl....I think it has a lot to do with whether the partner of the celebrity was there before the fame and money. Kind of like L.L. or Diddy. Cause once you reach that star status, how can you ever know if the person is truly interested in you? I think it would be impossible, but you can always count on that person who was there before the success. Cause if you look closely, most of the celebs who didn't have anyone before they blew up end up with a trophy partner. But the celebs who came into the game with somone.....DMX, L.L., Diddy, T-Pain.....they have average looking ladies.

NEW BRUNSWICK — A state Appeals Court extended the coverage area of drug-free zones a bit Monday when it ruled that a museum that does not keep normal hours falls under the definition of a public building.

Drug dealers caught selling within 500 feet of a public building — as well as public housing and parks — see the severity of charges rise.

The same holds for those caught selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.

The case in question concerned the New Brunswick Fire Museum, a museum on the corner of Remsen Avenue and Suydam Street open only upon appointment.

Jessie D. Chambers, 30, was arrested and charged with cocaine possession and distribution near the museum on Aug. 8, 2003.

City police officer Michael Yurkovic, detective Michael Sutton and Lt. Paul Schuster were patrolling the Remsen Avenue area of the city in an unmarked minivan shortly after midnight when they saw Chambers sell drugs to another man.

Because he was within 500 feet of the fire museum, Chambers was charged with a second-degree offense and other charges.

He was convicted in November 2004 and sentenced to six years in prison. He is eligible for parole in about a month.

The unanimous ruling by the three-judge panel might seem narrow, but Simon Rosenbach, the assistant Middlesex County prosecutor who argued the state's case in the appeal, said many municipalities and cities in New Jersey have part-time museums attended by school groups.

The protection offered to museums and areas around them against drug peddling increases the likelihood of people attending them, at least in theory.

But Tom Rosenthal, spokesman for the state Office of the Public Defender, which argued the appeal, said, "The ruling is an expansion of our demonstrably discriminatory drug laws."

Drug-free zones disproportionately fall in urban areas, Rosenthal said, making drug dealers there pay a higher penalty than suburban or rural drug dealers.

The New Jersey Commission to Review Criminal Sentencing released a report in 2005 calling for an overhaul of the laws concerning drug-free zones, regarding them unfair and ineffective.

The commission recently noted that blacks and Hispanics account for 96 percent of people convicted and incarcerated for a drug-free zone offense in New Jersey.

@BlackPeople 1, I have a lot of respect for ya words and what u feel but I disagree with what u think as far as Jay's music. I think he's been a pretty good example for people coming from the bottom. Everyone is not gonna like ya tactics on how u get to the top, but you get there. I know everyone is not gonna like mine, especially being a Pue(pew) Baby, but there are certain goals I have and family comes first. That's just my thoughts though man
