AP is a monster. Everyone who hates on him is just pissed he isn't on their team (which I am too. Fuckin Bucs. Called heads in the coin flip with the browns, and everyone knows tails never fails, then pass on AP)

He has NO passing game and runs with 8 in the box almost every down. The vikings QBs have combined to go 110/218 for 1330 yards. They have thrown for 5 TDs and thrown 6 INTs. The team QB rating is a 65.7.

Through 8 games he has 1,036 rushing yards and 8 rushing TDS. He averages 130 rushing yards and a TD a game. He's their 3rd leading reciever with 206 yds and a TD. He only trails their leader in receiving yards by 78, and has more TDs than their leading receiver. He's got Rookie of the Year on lock, even if he didn't carry the ball another time the rest of the season. If it wasn't for Tom Brady, he would have that MVP in a choke hold too.

Real talk I been following Brett Favre every since Atlanta had him and didn't know what to do with him. Back when he was getting smashed downtown and was traded for basically nothing because of his off the field situations..But I like the Packers this year and I think they are more a sleeper than just a legitimate contender for the NFC..You know that division is always weak as fuck and it's always only one team out of that division that play good and the rest suck or all of them suck so it's never any telling with that conference..My Bears play out of the same conference but it ain't really been that tough in years and Packers just barely getting the victories they getting but they are winning and I do acknowledge that..That's that leadership winning it late in the games..That touchdown last week in overtime was one of the best overtime plays I've ever seen..First play action...If Brady wasn't playing like he is Favre would have a good chance to win the MVP but Brady got it easy unless Adrian Peterson keep putting this pressure on him..If he finish the season with 2200 yards plus of total offense it's going to be hard not to make him a co-mvp..

Yea, I could see that happening if the Giants hit a hot streak offensively because Manning was part of the reason the defense got beat up so much the first couple of games..They stayed on the field too long because he wasn't moving the ball when he had it..Strahan and the young cat coming off the other end are giving teams hell..The young boy actually look like he out playing Strahan right now but Manning too inconsistent for me to put money on them..But I think he capable of getting on a four game streak and that's about how many it takes to get there so who knows..I expected more from McNabb this year..But that whole division got teams that's capable of playing on a high level...That's probably the best division in the NFC..David Giraud looking better than McNabb..Actually Giraud's qb rating for the year is higher than Peyton..

Whatever he doing he need to keep doing it because he about 40 and playing better than 90% of the qb's in the NFL..He's gotten better over years..What he lost in physical ability he is making up in his overall understanding of the game..He's put up all these big numbers without great receivers and that's what really put him in the same light as Marino..Brady is the same way..They'll take a bum off the streets and make them look like a superstar..I ain't saying everybody they had was bums but they never really had standout receivers..I think Brady was always a smarter qb than Manning but he never had a Marvin Harrison calibur receiver until Moss and now look at the numbers he's putting up..Welker is good but Moss making him look like a superstar..Whenever he get his new contract he need to break Randy off for all them double teams he's drawing allowing him to get open though..

those are my thoughts exactly on the Brady-Manning argument. Brady won 3 rings throwing to receivers who wouldn't be in the Colts top 4, probably even top 5.

But then people say Manning had that season with 49 TDs and all that...So I break it down like this. Look at the receivers he had vs the Pats WRs this year.

Randy Moss > Marvin Harrison, but only because he's taller and can go get the ball up high
Donte Stallworth < Reggie Wayne
Wes Welker < Brandon Stokely
Dallas Clark = Ben Watson
Indy O line = Pats O Line

So Manning had the advantage in receivers. He has the advantage in Offensive Coordinator. He has the advantage in everything except the stats, and rings. That's why Brady is better, hands down.

I co-sign everything you said but was that their careers or this season because I don't think Stokely is still on the roster...I think you meant to say Brady got the rings and Manning got the stats..Manning got him in career passing yards by around 15,000 yards and by about 100 touchdowns..But I think if Brady had Moss his whole career Brady would've went down in History as possibly the greatest qb..Moss made Culpepper look like the best thing going at qb for a quick minute..

I don't think I'd put them in that category until the secondary improved some more because the Ravens defense was like the old Bears or Steelers..The Giants line is a helluva lot better than their secondary and the Ravens had it all..I don't think you can put them in their with the old Bucs or Ravens defense until they start stopping the pass as well as the run..

I wouldn't doubt the Colts play noise like that. It's definitely what teams do in preparation of playing in a dome, so there are tapes of crowd noise. You gotta figure that the noise would already be loud, given the game itself, but I did think they were extra rowdy. But I thought that was because it was super bowl 41.5.

It makes it even more fishy since this isn't the first time they've been accused of it. It makes it even worse if the tape, or CD, or whatever they played it from skipped, and you can go back and listen to it, if they release when in the game it happened, and you TiVo'd or DVR'd it.

Unfortunately, I dont have either one of those, so I can't hear it unless it makes its way to YouTube

If Brady would have had the Colts receivers, he would be THE best QB of all time.

He's on pace to have more than 200 more yards than Gayton did in '04. 10 more TDs than he did. His passer rating is 10 higher than mannings in 04.

You're on point about Moss/Culpepper. Randy Moss had Dante looking like a God, but really, he was a Dog throwing to one of the GOATs (throwing to 2 of them for a couple of years, with Chris Carter)

Thanks everyone who understand where i'm coming from.... As I sent that message on here, I figured that I was about to get roasted because of what I said, but I felt it was right to be said... I feel we need as a group to praise our more positive movies we produce/director or star in instead of praising the movie where we calling each other nigga, whore, bitch, slut, and etc.... I'm a big fan of Denzel no doubt and got much love for him, but I believe us praising that movie and not showing any love to Tyler Perry "Why did I Get Married" (which I have seen very few a appreciation thread about his movie on different forum) make us a hypocritical of what we always saying how we trying to change and don't want us as a group to be consider negative and violent... but hey we keep on falling back into that category...

I agree with you on that..I think his attitude and confidence are what would make him more successful than a lot of coaches out there now..He can relate to the players good and the only point that really needs to be made is look what he's done mentoring Devin Hester..The boy is the second coming of Deion on the football field..Deion wasn't the best tackler but his knowledge of the game plus his God given ability made him the best cover guy i've ever seen..Devin Hester ain't too far from him and he's still young with a lot of time to grow..

I really can't see Deion being anything above a D coordinator. But then again, if he gets there, that's only 1 step away from being head coach. I think teams are more afraid that he'll be stuck in his ways and not as willing to listen to someone under him, whether it be a coordinator or position coach.

no, i didn't pay to watch it, my bad. even tho i'm glad i didn't. like i said last week it was a decent movie. but way overrated imo.

i love Denzel, excellent actor. i also like Russell Crow, another excellent actor.

but overall the movie was not the best gangster flick by a long shot. we all had our lists of the G.O.A.T.

but i think ur right on point BP 1, it was a safe gangster flick. and that can be frustrating for fans, to say the least, whether it applies to music, film, etc.

Dieon would be nice as a head coach, maybe he is off the hook a little but that is Dieon.
They don't have to give him a Headcoach spot off the bat, he could start off in the Secondary and see how it works from there.

@Gawga, I know Bigslim disagrees with me, but I think Manning is the best QB in the NFL. That's my opinion, yeah he doesn't have as many rings but I like his intelligence and numbers.

People forget, Manning make receivers!, Wayne and Harrison wouln'dt be as good if they were on another squad.

If any one remembers, the Colts were hot garbage until Manning stepped his game up.

Brady needs a team around him to flourish, yeah his receivers werent top notch but he has a balanced team and always have.

I really can't see Deion being anything above a D coordinator. But then again, if he gets there, that's only 1 step away from being head coach. I think teams are more afraid that he'll be stuck in his ways and not as willing to listen to someone under him, whether it be a coordinator or position coach.

With American Gangsta, I dont think it was s'posed to be a typical gangsta flick, with the violence and gore.

It was a true story, most real life events arent typical of Hollywood movie scripts.

That's why they modify the real life events and compact them into a movie to make it seem more entertaining.

If it was all fake then I'm sure it would've been "Training Day" material.

But it was this mans life and a depiction of what happened within those 8 years or so.

I think it did good by not glorifying the lifestyle and showing that even he got popped and snitched.

We got to definitely promote and broadcast more of the good going on out here. I know for me personally, I get more motivated when I see more stuff like that. Helps me to not feel like all this shit gone be over soon. We really do push too much of the negative stuff in this society. How can we expect any different then the status quo?

As far as the American Gangster movie. I think it was interesting and all that. I kept feeling like a lot of it was under developed though. Like they tried to fit so much in a short time frame so we get the microwave version of his story. A lot of the cast were just like fillers too. But whatever, aint too many real masterpieces anymore. We live in a time where theres more sizzle than steak...

As far as Deion Sanders, I would hire him, and let him work his way up..As far as the other coaches, they were more in the mental side of the game. Not saying Deion is stupid, but there's no evidence he had to apply a strategy in covering anyone. He was physically superior to everyone he played against.

Vince Young is the truth, but he needs at least 1 semi-respectable option to throw to before he really wins anything. He's got the Titans 6-2 based on natural ability alone. Him and Lendale White wont be able to carry the team throughout the playoffs alone

Jay Cutler is still really rough around the edges but has the arm to develop in to something serious. He needs a number 1 receiver too.

I would like to see Philip Rivers get some help at WR too. And not Chris Chambers in the 1 slot. I'm not buyin that one.

He was young the year they played together but he could Jump so damn High. They didn't really use Lloyd that game largely due to the fact that Ladell Betts had 400+ yds rushing and 6 td's. We played that team every year. We're in the same district and we never beat em when I played. But back to Lloyd, he won the State Champ. in the High Jump 2 or 3 times.

I can't agree with you on that brotha..Manning might not have had the defense that Brady had but his offensive threats are light years over what Manning has had in his career..You can't compare the backs that Indy had opposed to NE or their receivers..Manning always had the better offensive threats but Brady had the better overall team..The only place i'd give NE the edge on offense over the last 6 years is maybe at tight end but they are neck and neck now at that position..I don't think Manning would be able to carry the Packers if he was their quaterback like Favre is..Manning is a great qb on a great team and sometimes those stats are somewhat deceiving..I know Slim is going to hate this but look at the Gators qb's in the NFL over the years..

The Colts sucked prior to Peyton being on the team and they didn't start winnin till after his rookie year.

Also everyon think Marvin Harrison is so great that he can stand without Peyton.

Prior to Peyton starting Harrison never had double digit td's nor did you surpass 1000 yards receiving, He played for 3 seasons prior to manning.

Peyton has never thrown for less than 4000 yards and 26 td's in his career (actualy he threw for less than 4k twice and one was his rookie yearand the other was 3800) and is on track to own every NFL QB record.
Harrison has never caught less than 10 td's since Peyton.

Peyton has never had the Romeo's and the Charlie Weis or Hoodie wearing head coach.

Tom Brady is great no doubt, but in comparasing to Peyton I don't know if he's better.

Brady has only thrown for over 4000 yards once, Peyton does it every season.

How can you judge how good they are when they are playing with guys that will make them look good no matter what? Look at the point I made about Culpepper..He was one of the top 3 quarterbacks for at least a couple of the years Moss was there..Moss left and what happened to his career..I know injuries played a part too but who he was throwing the ball to did as well..Bottom line is Montana didn't make the guys around him better..They made him look better..He was an average qb playing with great players..He's not even the greatest San Francisco QB in my opinion..It's just my opinion but I'd take Steve Young in his prime any day over Montana..

Do you honestly think Magic would've been as great if he would've had to carry more of the load? Don't get me wrong he was all around talented but it's a difference in him going to LA rather than going to a situation in which they were in the rebuilding process..It's like the difference in playing in Phoenix opposed to Minnesota as a point guard...I ain't taking nothing away from Magic because he did set people up lovely with his assists but he was passing to Kareem, Cooper, Byron Scott and Worthy..That's a top 5 center of all time, top 10 power forward along with two of the best wing men of their time..

I feel you..I just don't think you can take it all away from Montana and say he was just average. Montana was basically done before I really started watching football..I was only 8 or 9 when he retired, so it's the same for Magic..but I know that the team was built around Montana. If you look at his college career, all he did was win, and lead comebacks. Same with the pros.

But Steve Young was a beast. I think if he wouldn't have got hurt he would have gone down as the GOAT. The Bucs fucked that one up.

It's all about being clutch. Every team in the NFL can win every week. They really can. The probability of one team beating another might not be very high, but it's possible. It's all about stepping up when it's time to, and Joe Montana did that. I really haven't sat down and actually thought about who my Top 5 QBs of all time would be, so I won't put anyone as the number one guy or not.

on south park they just got done with a trilogy of episodes about terrorists attacking our imagination. Well, at the end of it, the government nukes our imagination, and the whole screen turned white and I thought for sure the creators were about to hop on screen and say somethin like well, the government has ruined our imagination, so no more show. But thankfully that didn't happen

I know season 1-at least 10 of South Park are on DVD and Season 1 of Boondocks is on DVD, but they're all pretty expensive..That boondocks joint is somethin like $50..best to bootleg them bitches lol

Yea, I feel you homebwoy..My parents was 15 when they had me and I grew up on the southside of Chicago before moving to Ga..But it don't matter where you was at when the crack epidemic hit..Everybody had somebody in their family that was on it and somebody selling it..They might not have been directly around it but it was close enough for you to see a lot of money and a lot of strung out young, middle age and old folks out there bad..But see the thing is if we dwell on the past too much and all the wrongs that was done to us we can't move forward..You can't run a race and steady trying to look behind you to see what's going on back there..People either move with you or without you or you'll end up killing yourself trying to carry all that dead weight..I was grinding at 13 and smashing old chicks at the same age so I grew up kind of fast and I always hung out with older cats..I learned a lot but I wish I could've had that time back to be a normal kid..When in you grow up hard and fast in them streets you give up on your goals a lot earlier as well..If the hood started investing back into each other the way these other races are then things would be a lot different..Hopefully, one day soon we'll get back on that level so we can keep our money circulating amongst our own and start building from within..

My brotha, you're lost. While your subject matter is somewhat correct, your angle is off. Money, my dude, is the root of all evil, yet it's the root of all love as well. I grew up mostly in Steubenville, OH. It's a small steel city mostly known here for it's High School Football program. The population is about 25,000 and it's literally separated into classes, or at least it was. Downtown is where all the drama was, the Hill was where the middle class working people lived, and above that was where the whiteys lived. People I grew up with, were dying day by day and it got worse when some pushers from the Chi set up shop in the city. The Ville is a place where most born there, die there. It's no Chi, no BK, no Detroit, no Bankhead, but a bullet is a bullet anywhere you go. Cane and Heroin are killing that place. But my family, who's generations before them were born there, got us out of that mess.

I've never been rich bruh. I've got Sallie Mae all in my ass (no homo) with student loans. I'm raising my 1yr old daughter too. I'm not trying to pronounce myself better than anyone but y'all are stuck in a way of thinking as if you have to love the Hood. Bruh the Hood hasn't done anything for you. You learn the rules of engagement. How to survive, how to harden, what cars to look out for, etc. Which is fine, but, I appreciate all lessons of these streets, but they only teach you how to interact with niggas in a nigga-filled environment. Bruh, being a nigga isn't anything to be proud of, neither is having the mentality.

There's a difference between niggas and black people. It's a sad truth, but every race, not just us could claim they have a genre of their people that they shun. Trailer trash, Hicks, Rednecks, Spics, Beaners, Chinks, etc. There's a lot of it everywhere. Like I know a lot of my Puerto Rican bruhs don't like Mexicans. Matter of fact it's to the degree of hate. Why? They say they don't speak the language properly and that they're dirty. Do we all know that for sure? Nah, but it is what it is.

Like Gawga said, it's what you do with the knowledge you retain. The only thing the hood was meant for was to kill you. Like concentration camps in the Nazi era or Reservations for Native Americans. I mean what is it about the Hood that you love so much? I mean you can have a crew in any environment. You can play ball in any environment. Being "hard" doesn't get you anywhere in life. So what if you can fight nigga? So what if you're not scared to bust? If you're so bold, go join the Military. You about that paper right? You can see the world and kill people for $25,000 a pop. I bet Bill Gates can't fight to save his life, but he could buy the hood many times over.

Being Black is what we should be proud of. Our strength comes from that. Our soul power. Our will. Our perseverance. To survive the Hood and leave is a triumph. To survive the Hood and stay is suicide. Then what, in 5 years after you die, if your squad gets jailed or offed, then what mark in this world have you left? Albeit a small one else where, ain't no hood nigga ever changed nothing about anything being a hood nigga. You have to grow as a person and realize there's more to being Black than being hood.

Seems like you do somewhat though. I've got hood niggas in my family. I love them just the same. Do I agree with what they do? Nah. Because I've also got Doctors and Lawyers in my family. I've also got hard workers in my family. And the pitch to me was, "You can be smart and grind the books or you can be ignorant and grind the street." Every hustle isn't a success story my brotha. It really would behoove some of these niggas to actually TRY to finish high school or goto college. And we're all human beings. Anybody can do it. If they can work within the rules of the hood, hustle, no the differences between different types of bags, tops, how many Os they can get from a Key, and how much they profit from it. That's called Business Ethics bruh. If they can apply it in the hood, then they could do it in an office.

I believe in Black people. But undoubtedly, ignorance is bliss for a lot of niggas. I'm not mad at anyone for surviving. But, if you see that what you're doing isn't taking you anywhere, without risking your life or livelihood, then you're doing something wrong.

Don't get it twisted either. Hip-Hop was never about the hood until the mid 90s and it existed way before then. I'm only 22, but I've schooled myself on the greats of Hip-Hop. I've two great grandmothers one is 87 and the other is soon to be 97. I learned a LOT from them. I did my digging and found out about where we REALLY came from. The Willie Lynch effect is only going because niggas are always trying to get over on other niggas. They're no unity. Not because some white guy said you had to act that way. You see another nigga looking at you on the block and it's automatic grounds to stomp his ass. Ain't no white guy teach you that. You see another dude hustling, trying to "survive" on your block or corner and it's automatic grounds to cap his ass. Niggas are ass backwards. Then when the Black folks come in and say, y'all are doing this, this, and that wrong, but here's what you should do, the immediate response is "Fuck that uppity nigga, that shit ain't gonna work for me." Which is a contradictory in itself. Some claim they want help but won't do what's necessary to get it. It should be "Help Me, Help You, Help Yourself." but instead it's "Help Me, Fuck You."

My brotha, the Hood IS the white man's education. It tells you have to live in a slum, and you're going to die by the time you're 24. You have to be illegal to get by. You have to struggle. You have to always want more but never get it. You won't get a career, a job maybe, and when you get old and you have no retirement check coming in, you'll die at an early 65 or so with no foundation left to your immediate loved ones.

Remember that education started in Africa. The first college, the first books. Africa. To have knowledge of the world, is OUR knowledge. That's why they grow up learning 4-6 languages and come here with 2-3 Master's Degrees that get discredited.

Remember that Hip-Hop is an outlet for what we see and feel. Just because we started it, doesn't mean that everyone lives it. Hip-Hop is Art, as Art imitates life. And just like pen to paper, some people just don't have it. But it's not just us, people in Europe and Japan LOVE Hip-Hop. I've seen Eminem and Jin destroy people. Though the Hood maybe the Madison Square Garden of Hip-Hop, that doesn't mean it's not played else where.

Before I couldnt even finish reading your post, I realized that you had already missed my point.

I wouldnt in my write mind represent the place called the hood. Its not the place at all that I feel strong about. i dont disagree with your thoughts of the hood being like a concentration camp for our people. I think thats a good anology. I no longer live in the hood. Everybody in they right mind should be striving to get out of that place that was created to keep them in the slave mentality.

With that said homie, its the people their that I have love for. The people who bleed, eat, shit, and feel just like you and I. I grew up in the same environment and circumstances that they are currently in.

It took people to have special interest in me and believe in me for me to make it out of that death trap. If those same people said fuck the hood and gave up on some of my peers and I, then I wouldn't be here in the shape and mentality I am in to converse back and forth with you.

Its so much talent in the hood (educationally and otherwise), that if given the proper chance could be successful. But just like the apathy you show, other adults, teachers, the government, and even their own parents dont care. Dont put believe in them.

These kids didnt ask to be born in the situations they are in, those situations were imposed on them. They are born into a slave mentality and limit chance of success. How fair is that?

And on top of it all, their successful counterparts dont give a fuck about them. They separate themselves from them.

We, my friend, are only as strong as our weakest links. They had so much help to get in the fucked up situation they are in. With the factors in mine, how could they really be in any of a different situation. Dont forget, we are all former slaves. How long do you think it takes to shed a past like that? Should we be born with ambition and self confidence? Knowing that a lot of the systems that were set in place to have us in slavery are still active.

co-sign all that to the death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could never turn my back on the hood, even tho i consciously attempt to live a righteous life. i dedicate myself to the betterment of my community and the "youfs" (as BP 1 says) LOL

many people believe that u have to make a choice: it's either stay hood and be ignorant or turn ur back because ur intelligent. i disagree with that.

but it is a definite extreme challenge NOT to be brainwashed when obtaining them degrees. the mind's eye must be powerful to prevent it.

that's also why it's so necessary for hood folks to get educated: to represent this to other hood folks. set an example and raise awareness. u r a powerful threat when u have 2 aspects (or more) of knowledge vs. one or the other (street vs. school knowledge).

people look at me and don't always consider that i'm from the hood...forever. i've transitioned outta lookin like a hoodrat, but i'll admit i used to when i was younger. so what. but the way i speak naturally (as opposed to professionally), my attitude, etc. are all dead give aways. and i really don't care.

i got a sophisticated look these days, i'm highly educated (but ironically i never graduated from high school), and i'm a professional today. but the truth is i've been a statistic and that's in reference to my life from adulthood (age 16 for me) onward, as well as my childhood.

but i chose to strive, excel, and do the seemingly impossible. that's why i inspire people on a daily. that's why i have a impact on the youngstas who are living the life i lived 10-15 years ago.
people wouldn't believe the struggles that i've been through, shit sometimes looking back, i can't believe it myself.

but i NEVER regret and i'm NEVER ashamed of the past or where i'm from. i embrace that shit and i use it everyday of my life to make a difference in someone else's. that is part of why i love where i'm from soooo much. because i was raised by the hood (like u said) and the hood made me who i am and will always be. cause i made that commitment to myself. despite the pain and struggles, i couldn't be who i am today and i wouldn't have what i have today (and i'm not speaking in terms of materialism) if this were not my destiny.

Most definitely. Aye, your story does sound inspirational. Thats whatsup. One day we gotta chew the fat on our stories tip cause soemtimes I cant believe mine either. Hell maybe we'll help each other put those stories to paper or something. Im sure they will help a couple people. A little bit of my life is featured in two books written by that teacher I talked about on hear in the past as well. It was a mandatory read for all of the students who were education majors when i was in college. Matter fact, I know for a fact you would like the books BFG.

Check I Choose to Stay and The Immortality of influence. Both written by Salome Thomas El and Cecil Murphy. A little of my childhood background is in both the books.

I definitely suggest those to you because I think they would motivate you in your line of work.

Im impressed by your ability to overcome your obstacles as well. And I am definitely surprised to hear about the highschool thing. Your vocabulary and level of intelligence is on point. Keep doing what you do. I definitely wish you the best.
