I've been doing my own thing in new media design for some years now so I agree with investing in various different types of businesses. I started working on my own clothing line because you have to consider the amount of money you pay for clothes from other designers. Essentially it is called product placement.

If you wear designer clothing from other people, and you are going to be doing shows, walking around in public in it, why not promote yourself instead of Roc-A-Wear or Ralph Lauren? Unless they are paying you for it. It is just good business. Now I don't agree with creating a clothing line named after yourself, or label because that is just stupid. If you ever fade or label becomes less popular "whatever-name-clothing" will go with it. Imagine if Motown had "Motown Clothing". The clothing line should be independent of the label that way you can be creative with it.

i have two boys.

when i had my oldest, i really didn't let him play w/guns as a lil one.

but i did notice that it didn't matter because he would pick up a stick and pretend it was gun.

in fact he would pretend almost anything was a gun.

so that was pointless and i let that go.

but i never have let him play real violent shooting and killing video games and he is a true gamer.

but he's not even trippin off all that type of shit.

because i set that standard and expectation.

there is no reason for him to be playing that type of stuff imo.

i don't think it's mentally healthy, esp. for developing minds.

it all goes back to the media,

just like they say little kids will see X number of violent crimes and murders on t.v. by the time they are X age.

i believe that is why even the youngest lil boys want to play with guns and shoot.

(it serves to reinforce their masculinity as well. but that's another topic.)

so the media sets the standard and the capitalists reinforce it.

ur also right about kids dying from mishandling guns,

but that still begs the question of why they have access to them in the 1st place.

real talk, i been considering gettin me a deuce deuce lately, legit of course.

but that is one thing that i am pondering, prevention of my children gettin a hold of it.

and the consideration of teaching my 12 y.o. how to use it so he won't mishandle it and kill himself or someone else,

is still not an option for me.

my goal is to raise children that will live a life where they will never have to, or feel like they have to, handle a gun.

If I'm correct Wal-mart only sells Rifles and shotguns.

Handguns are primarly the guns of crime.

In most states you don't need a license for a rifle or shotgun.
It's harder to conceal is why.

Wal-mart demographics is primarly white america which uses shotguns and rifles as sport.

What the law down here (in the south) cares about is whether the parents knew about the relationship or not. I understand, I used to think the same way especially about candidates that I didn't think spoke to my interests. However, I realized that "my" interests are relatively small because the majority of people in my age bracket 20-30 don't vote anyway.

So when they pass bias drug laws, and allow the cops to harass me I have no political recourse or lobby in congress to speak for "my" interests because of the political apathy. It is a very perilous situation we are in now. Individuals don't have power in the political arena at all. It is all about cohesive coalitions.

Look at NYC, how in the hell could those Rockerfeller drug laws get passed back then in a state with such a huge black and latino population? Political apathy. The presidential race is bigger, but we are the same at the local level.

I ain't sure where in the South you are but i've been to concerts both in Ga and Fla.. In Fla (Orlando and Tampa) it's maybe 60% black, 30% hisp, 10% white..In Atlanta or anywhere else in Ga it's usually 80% black 15% hisp and 5% white...I think you are talking more so the stadium concerts but even those aren't anywhere close to being 70% white..The last concert I went to in Tampa them boyz was wilding out bad..They kept having to stop the concert because of fights..The funny thing is I went to Juvie concert in Orlando and this 50 y/o white chick was in there trying to hit on me and I couldn't have been any older than 24...Needless to say, I passed on her and hollared at her friend this 40 something thick ass PR chick...

I think that's b/c the promoters know that sense most people here aree on scholarship, they can get away with it, cuz a friend of mine at FAMU paid $30 for the same seats I paid $110 for. But yeah, I doubt most concerts down here are 70% white, but I do think that most of the concerts here at UF are mainly white people, simply b/c they always raise the prices on us b/c 90% of our students are on scholarship.

But the point is that it makes no sense to say that b/c one person got screwed over by the feds and the court system, dont mean the same thing should happen to another person

R. Kelly Arrest Warrant Issued Over Missed Court Warrant won't go into effect until Thursday, when R&B singer is due to appear in court.

A warrant has been issued for R. Kelly's arrest after the R&B singer missed a court date because his tour bus was stopped by police in Utah. Judge Vincent Gaughan, the presiding judge in Kelly's child-pornography case, has entered the warrant, although it won't go into effect until Thursday — Gaughan has ordered Kelly to appear in a court in Cook County, Illinois, at 9 a.m.

The singer must obtain permission each time he travels outside the state of Illinois, and prosecutors in Cook County told the Chicago Sun-Times that Gaughan has already given Kelly a lot of leeway. "This is just an abuse of the process. It's disrespectful of your honor," Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Shauna Boliker stated. Kelly's defense lawyer Ed Genson reportedly said the bus was "detained because of some snow" following a concert in Sacramento, California, and that police needed to check the bus log because it wasn't filled out the right way. According to the Sun-Times, Genson told Gaughan that Kelly had tried his best to make it to court on time.

However, TMZ.com reports that Kelly's tour bus and three more were stopped for going over 100 mph, and that after they were taken out of service, the passengers were left stranded. After the buses were pulled over, the investigating trooper noticed that the bus drivers seemed tired and asked for the buses log books, which weren't onboard or hadn't been updated, according to the site.

Everyone is talking about leaked footage from an interview Omarion and Bow did recently for BET's "The Black Carpet." (The uproar was also captured by the cameras following Bow and O for the BET reality series "Road to Platinum.") Bow Wow got upset, ended the interview and walked off with his friend when he felt interviewer Touré was being too much of jokester with the questions.

"Do you take moves from people like Chris Brown?" he asked O. He also pointed out that Lil Wayne's chain is bigger than Bow Wow's. That pretty much sparked it up.

"Don't ask no other disrespectful, stupid-ass questions," Bow said before he got up.

A source close to the "Black Carpet" shoot said the Bow Wow and Omarion interview was a planned prank all along that happened over the summer and that BET informed the duo's label reps of the proposed mischief beforehand. The source also said that the label didn't tell Bow and O because it was supposed to be for a good-natured, "Punk'd"-style show called "Hell Interview." A rep from Sony Music was unable to be reached.

On Tuesday afternoon (December 18) in L.A., fresh from Atlanta doing a show with Bow and Chris Brown at the Philips Arena on Monday, O said there are no grudges, but he and his homie want to be taken seriously.
