I was reading in the Daily News(NYC's newspaper 4 those who aren't from here), and it was an article in it about an ex-police officer that was convicted of raping two women! He supposedly followed one home after he previously stopped her for a traffic violation the other one I can't really remember! He got only 4 months of jail time! My thing is, whether he was an ex-police officer, a police officer or a citizen, how does someone get 4months of jail time for RAPE? YOu have dope dealers getting football numbers and RApist getting only 4month or 2years? In my opinion, they are worst than drug dealers! You took away a part of a person that they can never get back! Let's not even mention if its a child that was raped! COme on, what is the world coming to when u let a fucking RAPIST go free (b/c lets be open and honest, 4months is like a pat on the back saying you did a little bad thing but try not to do it again)! Come on now, this shit has be so mad! I don't care who you are, if you rape someone you need to be punished! Get some psychological help as well! As we talk about politics and other hip hop bullshit why not keep talking about how RAPIST get away w/ mental murder?~ Its MENTAL MURDER when you RAPE someone! You never recover from that, whether you have learned to live w/ it or not! You can not get back what someone stole from you!

I just want everyone who cares, opinion on the topic of Rapist not getting enough time and help for their MENTAL MURDER ACTS!

yeah we spoke about this throughout the semester in a class of mine.. shit is sad... me personally and most in that class, (came off ignant to da professor), we thought that rapists deserved to get raped in the cell for the rest of their lives as punishment... but that's just a few opinions. It's mos def a mental murder and i dont see how people who commit those acts can't serve let's say 15 - 20 years at least. AT LEAST! AT LEAST!

It's sad how people are punished here because some do the people justice but most punishments for crimes like this are just calling for individuals to go back out there and continue the act. 4 Months though slj? wtf? that shit shorter than Midget Mac.....

@slj & mak - laws should be a lot more strict for sexual offenders. the victim is not chooseing to be violated they have no choice in the matter. fiends (people with drug dependencies) set there selves up for chemical enslavement, but they have the option not to. to me it all boils down to money issues, everything is a buisness & a cycle designed to keep certain groups of individuals from getting where they should be. the government & numerous others profit off of drug dealing & people being convicted of drug offenses. they could easily start giving harsh mandatory time for sexual crimes but they won't cause it wouldn't be lucrative for them to do that.money is the root of all evil. each person in jail is worth x amount of dollars on paper persay, the more people accumulated equates to more money. then think how many people dabble in street pharmacy for profit in comparison to how many people are rapist & there main objective is to violate people in that manner. once you get a felony your pretty much done in the professional world (unless your lucky) cause rarely do companies hire people with felonies. so then you stuck where? mcdonalds, burger king, somewhere like that where you can't make anything shake cause your getting paid minimum wage.so you back to where you started,......... back hustling, risking your well being, freedom, for some pieces of paper that somebody decided to give monetary value to with hopes of inprisioning you & your mindstate by persuing there overly priced "nice things" & currency lmao. started to get off topic but to reiterate I'm wit yall.

that i love Obama.

i mean there is still a part of me that could never 100% trust

It would be improper for the opponents of Barack Obama to say "don't elect a black person or mixed person to be president because he is an inexperienced representative of a minority group" with "experience is necessary to be a good president that can appeal to most Americans".

Did you see that episode of 20/20 or Dateline about Clarence Thomas. I don't agree with a lot of things he does, but it shined some light on his background and his mind-state. A lot of people don't miss what type of person he is. In a way he is like a hard-nosed Bill Cosby. Cosby put us as a race on front street in a nice way with some of our short comings as a people. Thomas is the same in a way, he just does not care to sugar coat it. People think he does not love his people; its not that at all. His hate for bullshit is just stronger than his love for us.

Basically Thomas' mindset is get off your lazy ass, and go out there and be a man and stop waiting for a hand out. He knows there are forces out there that are against you, but those same forces are not stopping everything you can do to better yourself. Its hard to cover it all you just have to see the interview for yourself.

I saw your question homie. I think either one (woman or black man) would be a step in the right direction. Either will show that our country has made a least some progress. Show of progress is real important for the american psyche right now. Especially with the general cynical mindset most of us have right now.

I personally want Barack to come out with it because he has a air of honesty about him. Which of course can mean that he's an effective communicator. But like somebody else mentioned, Im sure he will be better than what we currently have.
