I kinda caught bits and pieces of the debate and this Richardson cat seems to be on the right path, but I think he has a somewhat shady history. But you right though, I think we need to focus on the issues more than anything else. I think some people are just caught up on the "names" of the main players and ignoring the other cats who raise some valid points.

I feel you. I've dated women with children before and I never had any intentions on harming their children. But how does she know that???? Don't take that chance. Get to know me for a few years before you even consider leaving your children at my house.

WHen I first moved up to the Poconos from NYC, we only had one car and I wasn't working at the time. Wifey had the car because she worked for Clear Channel and was traveling most of the time and the neighbor drove me around. I have two daughters and so did she.

Needless to say our daughters became friends and after two weeks her daughter wanted to spend the night at my house with my daughters. I didn't have a problem with it.. but she LET HER knowing that my wifey wasn't even going to be there. WHen she dropped her daughter off she was like, "make sure she takes her bath".

To a nigga you've known like two weeks???? WTF!!!! No way I would have let me daughter stayed. Shit, I still don't let her stay at that chicks house and it's been 5 years now because I know what kind of parent "she's not"!

I feel you and you're situation is different. But like my sister-in-law, she broke up with her kids father a few years back. She has two children from him.. and young daughter and a young son. in the past 4 years she's dated like 6 dudes (one who blew up her car when she dumped him).

All of these dudes have "lived" in her house while dating her with her daughter calling them "daddy".

Everytime that shit happens around me I tell shawty "that's not your damn father" and everyone in the house looks at me like I"M CRAZY or some shit.

My thing for some of these chicks is don't be in such a rush to find a new daddy for your children. Everyone you're fucking should not be around your kids.

I am in the navy and i am currently tasked with sending members on individual Augmentation tours (navy people that work with Army & Marines) and from all the reports it just looks like we are sending more member than what we recall... also i recall last year Bush said that 2nd quarter 08 they were going to pull people back or bring most of the trrops home and right after he said that 20,000 troops deployed so do some math we in there for a while....

I am in the navy and i am currently tasked with sending members on individual Augmentation tours (navy people that work with Army & Marines) and from all the reports it just looks like we are sending more member than what we recall... also i recall last year Bush said that 2nd quarter 08 they were going to pull people back or bring most of the trrops home and right after he said that 20,000 troops deployed so do some math we in there for a while....

With all the technology we have now, the system is outdated!

I didnt repost ya whole hting but I agree and anyone who says that shit done go down is blind. I understand your feeling towards cops but I also know not all cops are like that. But there are alot . Dont get me started on that shit with Sean Bell in Queens last year them cops ( and they werent all white cops).

But my question is a not being smart either do you feel the same way about all cops or just white ones( I ask this cause a majority of the cops that wrong and britilize people are white men)?

She has two kids. At the time we started dating her daughter was 13 and her son was 9. She told me at the start of the relationship that she he had two kids, but I didn't get to meet them until almost a year into the relationship. I guess she wanted to see where my head was at, and I understood that. I never had any problems with her kids, and vice versa. We was always cool. Even though me and this woman is not dating anymore I am still cool with her and her kids. We all had a great time with each other while it lasted.

Jrzeema in your case, what happens when you find that someone that will love you unconditonally. That someone who will provide for you , keep you safe and all that. At some point you would have to bring this man around to meet your daughter, not right away but eventually. I would think you would like to have a father figure in your daughter's life since her biological haven't been heard from in 3yrs. I will give you a perfect example, Shaquille O'neal. He doesn't want anything to do with his biological father because his father walked out on his mother. The man she decided to marry is the guy that Shaq calls dad.
Basically what I'm getting at is if your gonna bring a man around your daughter, maker sure he got his shit together, a good head on his shoulder, and someone that's gonna be there through thick and thin.

As far as politics in America I'm undecided who to vote for but since day one I was rooting for hillary for only if change is needed lets say what about making history and having a lady be the president now that is defintely change but I'm not sure if the other issues that are more concerning will change. Like someone mention Hillary is a competition for the republicans so their strategy is get Obama winning untill it's showdown then the republican will likley win because it will be easier for the public to say Obama dosen't know much, and the TV the media plays so much part for airing out what is the truth but sometimes the media exagerate just for ratings as well. It's dumb what they don't know is this is real it isn't about who gets the most ratings durning a presidential debate and then trashing another candidate for some stipudity reason, it's like there waiting for someone to say something bad or do bad or find something to make them look bad just so they have something to talk about i guess. And as far as hillary's breakdown yesterday, people are saying she's weak and we don't need somebody who can't handle the overwhelming since Bush left us a mess someone gotta clean it up and just cuz hillary's breakdown they feel she isn't strong enough to carry on the rest of america's burden, however that's BS at least in my eyes. I've never been involved politically but as years progress every lil change implemented affects us, so I gotta let my voices be herd if Im gonna be part of the change process by voting and speaking on real issues. And I think young people need to be informed, the HS and Junior HS as well as elementary need to know that selecting a president is important for it is their future, as well as getting politically active within their communities, for the reason that a time will come and we might have no clue what is going on in the white house or what the shot callers got in store for us next.

I'm surprise that what's going on in Kenya isn't even been coverd on the news, it's sad to see a developing country I studied about going thru their woos'. I hope we don't have to witness another genocide episode.

Dig this though! West Coast voters can back me up on this too! The polls will still be open during election day, and before they close, they will already announce who the president is. So at that point if you didn't get your vote in, how are you supposed to feel like your vote counts? That's what's fucked up with the electoral college! Votes should be counted individually! With all the technology we have now, the system is outdated!

Imma try not to even get to deep into the whole psychological battle with light vs dark skinned brothers (unlest somebody take me there of course).

I aint no hater of my light skinned counterparts, but I know some of the cruelty us darker skinned dudes went thru (and in some cases still do) just cause we wasnt light or white enough.

To the degree, that it had a lot of niggas wishing they were lighter and all that, just to later realize that they skin is golden.

Imma a represent for all brothers no matter they tone in general.

But I have a special interest in helping brown and dark skin people realize their beauty.

Black is and always will be...

An example is my ex boyfriends cuzines girl friend, she was real dark I mean purple blue dark, and she hated every bit of it, what she didn't realize is that she was one of a kind and it made her unique plus she still looked beautiful but the fact of people starring at her cuz of her color is what made her hate her color.

I realized something earlier today.

It dont matter the political stance or the candidate with like 85% of the voters.

A lot of people just want to back the candidate they feel is going to win.

I realized that as I watched CNN earlier on my way to work.

This dude was saying how he going to now vote for Obama in the new hampshire primray because Obama looks like he is going to win.

And the masses wonder why the rich few, dont take them serious.

Around election time, is the only time the politicians even show interest in the public, and best believe if they could ignore you then, they would.

I know a lot of people going to go for the candidate they feel sound the best, look the best, look the cutest, heads and tails, shortest straw

and whatever other embarrassing method people use as they exercise the only privilege they have in this country, the right to vote.

And most sadly dont even use that...

I like Obama becuase he is one of the few candidates that realize that Americans actually are more interested in improving the education system then they are in conquering oil countries.

He also shows charissma, and a down-to-earth aura about himself which I feel is important.

He tries his best to hear out the common person. And he realizes the importance of actually including the younger voters in the election process.

He represents change.

He comes off as sincere.

And I need a break from a republican based government for a while (a long while).

These are my reasons that more than likely, I will pull the lever that says Obama.

yea thats crazy. Its sad, how even in 2007/2008, people still hate themselves.

It goes back to breeding us in different tones in to help divide in the first place.

The lighter skinned slaves got lighter labor loads from the slave masters. Jobs like "kitchen duty" and other house chores. Chores that kept them out of the sun.

It was made assured that they were treated better due to their skin.

So naturally, dark skinned mothers wished they has lighter skinned babies to hopefully shield them from the extreme slave labor.

Like picking cotton.

Mothers even did stuff to their children when they were younger. Some tried to shape their babies noses more pointy so that they would look more white.

Its crazy because things like that still trickle down today.

Some mothers still treat their light skinned children better than they treat their dark skinned children.

I know a mother who lives down in south carolina, who left her baby at the hospital because he was born dark skinned and all her other kids are lighter.

Light skin is still the symbol of beauty in this country.

White features.

Weaves.

Make-up.

Speaking of beige brothas, I am voting for Obama because I think a lot of the other candidates are corrupt. I think the longer a person is part of the establishment the more jaded and shady they can become. My vote is leaning towards Obama. I feel as though either one (Hilary or Obama) would be good for office, but my vote is for him. But for real, I feel Democrats have a great chance of winning if everyone votes. I'm like you, I'm tired of the republican office and am ready for something new. yea the electoral college is based on the population. the more people the more electoral votes they get i think texas, ny and cali have the most ...cali has the most overall..cali 55 electoral votes texas 34 and ny 31.

Yeah the electoral college is kind of fucked up because they like to give you the impression that every vote counts, but it really doesnt. I live here in Cali which is largely a Democratic state, so no matter if I were to vote for Obama or not, I guarantee he would win California regardless. I vote because I feel that I have no right to complain about the way shit is, if I dont vote for who I think will do the best job. I know in the grans scheme of things my 1 vote may not matter but it matters to me. I wish they would elect the president by the popular vote. I think Al Gore won the popular vote back in 2000 over Bush.

Cosign everything you said. Hiliary's past experiences will get her nowhere because everyone wants something fresh, something new. The candidates really have to focus on the younger population because thats a great majority of the voters, so thats who they have to gear their campaigns towards. Obama is doing a good job so far. And have you noticed how Richardson kinda of takes Obama sides, its almost like he's trying to tag-team with Obama to eliminate Hilary because he probably sees what everyone else is seeing now too. I have to admit, that I like his strategy in trying to stay in the race, its working for him. If Hilary wants a chance, she better step her game up. She probably thought that piggybacking off of Bill would help her in, but its doing more harm than anything.

That there is just straight ignorance..... my friend has red hair but as she gets older it gets darker. My daughters hair turning brown...thats some throwback genes from her g'mas tho but if it stays that way i'mma let her kno she black and not to get it twisted if that happens to her. I just started this online class through the community college down here called 'humanities through the arts'

only on chapter 1, but it said something that I thought I would swing by you. Food for thought, if you will.

Yea, I was born in Chicago so it was a hard adjustment moving to the country but it was alright..I live up in Decatur now and I can't go back to living in the country..It's cool to visit and i'll probably get me a house built down there once I retire but it ain't no money around most of the small towns so it's a lot of hate, envy, gossiping (mostly niggaz), snitching and other petty shit going on in those areas..When I visit I slide into town and stay out of dodge..
