The shooting occurred about 9:20 p.m. at Uno Chicago Grill restaurant, part of a sizable dining, shopping and entertainment complex that replaced the old Capital Centre sports arena in the Largo area. Two of the men were shot in the bar area of the restaurant, authorities said. The third man was gunned down just outside the restaurant, Cpl. Diane Richardson, a county police spokeswoman, said this morning.

Police believe all three men were killed by a single shooter.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the argument. It apparently occurred just after one of the teams in the game had scored, but according to Cpl. Stephen Pacheco, a spokesman for county police, investigators could not say whether the dispute involved the National Football League championship game.

"We don't know if it had anything to do with it," Pacheco said. "Something happened," he said, "and someone produced a handgun."

Police said the suspect fled in a red Dodge Charger. Accounts indicated that he drove the car down a patch of sloping ground to hasten his escape. It was not known if he had any connection to any of the victims.

Pacheco said the victims were all apparently shot in the upper body. Two were pronounced dead shortly after the shooting, while the third was hospitalized in critical condition before dying of his wounds.

Accounts of witnesses, whose names could not be obtained, indicated that the dispute in the restaurant had escalated from words to blows before the shooting. A manager at a nearby restaurant said some of his employees heard gunshots about the time the New York Giants scored a touchdown against the New England Patriots.

That touchdown, early in the fourth quarter of a tense contest, put the Giants ahead by a score of 10-7. The Giants went on to win the game, 17-14.

Richardson said many of the estimated 60 to 70 patrons inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting fled before police arrived. Detectives were interviewing those who remained on the scene, as well as relatives of the dead, in an effort to piece together what may have happened.

"It is simply not clear just what started this whole incident," Richardson said today."We're just hearing too many different things right now."

Uno, a one-story structure with red awnings and a red-brick front, is located on a street called Shoppers Way and is known for its pizza. Someone who answered the telephone last night at the restaurant declined to comment.

Pacheco described the shootings, which took place in a middle-class neighborhood just outside the Capital Beltway, as uncommon. The area is about a mile east of FedEx Field and less than a half-mile north of the Largo Town Center Metro stop.

"It's not an everyday occurrence," Pacheco said. "We're extremely concerned about this."

Md. Boy Admits Killing Parents, Brothers

COCKEYSVILLE, Md. — A 15-year-old boy fatally shot his parents and two younger brothers as they slept, then spent more than 12 hours with friends before returning home and calling 911 to report that his father was dead, police said Sunday.

Police went to their suburban Baltimore home and later charged Nicholas Waggoner Browning after he admitted to the slayings, Baltimore County Police spokesman Bill Toohey said.

Browning was charged as an adult with four counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of his father, John Browning, 45; his mother Tamara, 44; and his brothers Gregory, 13, and Benjamin, 11.

The teen had not been getting along with his father, police said. On Friday night, he went into the house after other family members had gone to sleep and shot each of them. His father's handgun had been in the house, police said.

After the slayings, he threw the handgun into bushes near the house, police said. The gun was recovered, Toohey said.

When the friends took him back to his house at 5 p.m. Saturday, Browning went into the house and came back out to say that his father was dead.

Browning called 911, telling the dispatcher that a "45-year-old male was lying on the couch with blood coming out of his nose. He was not breathing," according to charging documents. Officers were sent on a "call of a cardiac arrest."

Police said Browning's father was found in a ground-floor room and his mother and brothers were dead in upstairs bedrooms. There was no sign of a confrontation, Toohey said.

The tall, gangly sophomore at Dulaney High School in neighboring Timonium was denied bail; a bail review hearing was scheduled Monday. He was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center in a special section for juveniles.

Toohey said he didn't know if Browning had a lawyer.

Even if convicted as an adult of first-degree murder, Browning is too young under state law to face the death penalty.

Two of Browning's classmates drove past the family's house Sunday afternoon and wept when they learned from reporters that he was charged in the slayings.

"It's hard to believe someone could do this," Brooke Kebaugh, 16, said.

Liz Lazlawbach, 17, said Browning complained about fighting with his father, but "not about anything violent."

The grounds of the two-story home were neat and neighbor Mike Thomas said the Brownings would even pick up trash along the street. "These people would do anything in the world for you — just incredible people," Thomas said.

Neighbors called each other throughout the night to discuss the killings, Thomas said. He said one of his sons had been in Boy Scouts with one of the Brownings' sons and was devastated when he learned of the deaths.

About 50 people — mostly teenagers — gathered for a candlelight vigil in front of the Brownings house Sunday night. The crowd stood in silence for about ten minutes. Some cried.

John Thibeault said his son Kyle went to school with Benjamin and they were both "traumatized" by the deaths. He said his family locked their doors Saturday night, fearing a killer was on the loose.

Thibeault described Nicholas Browning as "just a regular, normal kid."

John Browning was a partner in the law firm of Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid in Towson, focusing on real estate law and commercial and corporate law.

The partners said Browning was an accomplished lawyer.

"He was also a person invested in his family and community," the partners said. "He led his local scout troop. He was a leader at his church. In short, John Browning was a great man. We will all miss him very, very much."

The Brownings' Boy Scout unit, Troop 328, meets at Timonium United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Frances Dailey said Sunday that the troop's leaders did not want to talk. He said John Browning was "beloved and well revered. I'm told this is not the kind of family that this could happen to."

Counselors were to be available Monday to meet with students at Dulaney High, said Charles Herndon, a county school spokesman. He declined to say where Browning's younger brothers went to school.

As a Cowboys fan I hate to admit it, but Eli looked good last night and it's nice to have the championship back to the NFC East. People were joking a few years ago about the NFC "LEAST" but I guess this should prove them wrong. We took both wild card spots and then watched as the #5 seed went on to pull off, according to the numbers, one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. I think if Nas would've kept all them QB niggaz together and formed his own record label for them the NY rap scene would be totally different..I know about Ill Will records but he haven't done shit with it but put out his albums for the most part..That's why I say indirectly he's part of the reason that hip hop is dead..Just think about the talent that came out of QB around that time..i.e. Mobb Deep, CNN, Nas, AZ, Nature and Cormeaga just to name a few..I know he co-signed a lot of them catz but I don't think he rode with them the way he should've and that's why the majority of them don't fuck with him..His actions contradict his words because he's always promoting unity but I don't see him trying to unite anyone himself..

Just think about this..When Wu-Tang came out they brought out their whole squad..It was Wu this and Wu that..All kinds of niggaz was affiliated with them because they were a family...Then you have A Tribe Called Quest and the Dungeon Family..To start a movement it takes the will to do so and no egos..That's the reason most black groups in any genre of music don't last long...We can't work with each other without letting ego's and jealousy get in the way..The bigger picture and movement is not as important as individual accolades and wealth..If it ain't the ego's it's a nigga taking advantage of people they call brothas because of their lack of business sense..Instead of teaching most of them will cheat the others..i.e. Eazy-E, RZA, Baby and Puffy just to name a few..

United we stand, divided we fall and that's why hip hop is failing in so many aspects..The money has become more important than the love of our fellow brothas and sisters and the art..I know this post came out of left field but I was just up listening to some old shit and reflecting on the state of the game..

Pimp C (born Chad Butler) was found dead in his room at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood, California on December 4th 2007.

According to My Fox Houston, Los Angeles County Asst. Chief Coroner Ed Winter said that Pimp C's death has been ruled as an accident.

(Houston, TX, February 4, 2008) After more than 15 years with his one and only record label, Devin the Dude has decided not to renew his contract with Rap-A-Lot Records in an effort to pursue other career options. Since signing his deal with the Odd Squad on Rap-A-Lot records in 1992, the legendary comedic rapper has been splitting the spleens of hip-hop lovers with his hilarious brand of risqué funk with each project. Releasing their first album together Fadanuf Fa Erybody in 1994 the group's unique style, flow and themes quickly made them a favorite on the underground.

Recognizing his genuine appeal, Houston's Godfather of hip-hop invited Devin to join another group, Face Mob which only put out one album together (The Other Side of the Law, 1996). When Face Mob broke up it was time for Devin to strike out on his own and he delivered his first solo classic The Dude. As a fan of Smokey Robinson's LP of the same title, Devin's first solo offering was filled with the same style of funk laden grooves doused with the Coughee Bros signature brand of smoothed out hip-hop production and secured The Dude as a classic hip-hop album with his ode to Wine, Women and Weed. Although the album lacked the commercial success many felt it deserved, it brought Devin to the attention of the likes of Dr. Dre who invited the rapper to do a verse on the hit single "F*%k You" on Dre Dre's Chronic album in 2001 catapulting him to another level in the game.

Devin recorded three solo albums with Rap-A-Lot over the course of the last 10 years Just Trying 2 Live (2002) 2 Tha Extreme (2004) and delivering yet another classic with his final album Waiting to Inhale which dropped March 07. "Rap-A-Lot has been my family for a long time and there's no bad blood at all," Explains Devin of his decision to leave the label, "But change is a part of life and I feel like this is the time to make a change and focus more on the business side of my career, I've had a nice run so I'd like to develop artists and give some of these other cats out here a platform to shine." Devin has spent this past year touring with his original Coughee Bros. promoting the recently released independent project "Waitin Our Turn". With several offers on the table for label situations, Devin is exploring options right now but is ready to get back in the lab and blow out another batch of his finest music for a new generation of music lovers.
