I'ma be real: When they showed the clips about Tommy Lee & John Carlos and the 1968 Olympics, I damn near started tearing up. I mean I knew about the whole holding up the fist on the podium and why they did it, but I never realized everything they had to go through after it. And then when they brought out both guys afterwards, shit had me all emotional and stuff. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt THAT moved by something like that (well, the last time OTHER than when I saw "The Great Debaters" in theatres).

That was the highlight of the night for me. That and when they brought out Kevin Everett.

I grew up in the town and while growing up you know certain rappers lifestyle, some live a life they protrayed in their raps and others not so much. It's life. Not entertainment like a De niro, Pesci, or even a Pacino. When the director screams "CUT", what they do? They go back to their real life which consist of family, good homes, no beefs, feuds, etc. and not 'la cos nostra', jewels, killing, etc. So i'm glad fake wannabes are being exposed.

I see what your getting at, but as a Huge Bat fan, I saw where they got the ideas from that they used in the movie. The Killing Joke and the Dark knight returns/Batman:Year One were used hard in it
Don't want to spoil the movie for anyone who didn't see it, so I'll refreence the comics. In The Killing Joke the Joker shot and parallized Commissioner Gordon's Daughter, took pictures of her naked, and tried to drive Commissioner Gordon insane to prove a point. He wanted to prove that everyone is "One Bad Day' away from him. The Joker is the exact opposit of Batman. While Batman strives for order and justice, Joker strives for chacos and insanity. The Joker is my favorite Batman Villain being the evil genis that he is. I do plan on seeing it AGAIN (No 2 times isn't enough) hope I didn't bore non comic fans. Peace

I thought that line was deep to homie.

Its kinda like the archetypal of good vs evil. Good needs evil so it can be viewed as good, evil needs good so it can be viewed as evil.

They both are subjective depending on peoples ideas and experiences in life. Batman was a hero to commissioner Gordons lil son. Joker was a hero to all the folks casted out by "elite" society and called "insane.

Thats why he had no problem finding goons for his dirty work. The more society judges and casts out people, the more they are recruited by rebel organizations, ie terrorist. Hip Hop and Rock music are direct rebellions to the goody two shoe religious order of society.

BET and MTV have dumbed down not only OUR people, but society in general, into making you believe the only thing that is hot in the streets is what they have put out there. It's not to KNOCK the hustle of artists that have capitalized, because they have obviously did their thing. But there is no BALANCE to any of this, and we continue to dumb down ourselves so we don't have to face reality. It's sad when we are in an day and age where it's considered DUMB to be SMART, especially when some of our PARENTS, and at least our GRANDPARENTS fought, marched, and damn near died so we could get a proper education and make it in this world...

And we take it for granted and DENOUNCE what we have done LEGALLY in the past to keep an IMAGE.

It's a dayum shame man. We have learned SELF HATE, and we practice it to the finish line...meanwhile, our white brethren laugh in our face...real talk...THEY BE LAUGHIN' AT DUMB NIGGAS!!!

My gal was at the Mall in PHX when X got popped. I was reading the Rumors and telling her about it. She was like "I saw the cops escorting a black guy in cuffs." (She's Navajo) She said 4 laws and 4 security guards escorted X outta Metro Center Mall. I think he was in the Food Court. I guess X want to wear those pink drawers they got in Maricopa County. He needs to hit up one of the medicine men out there to clean his chakras. Balance his energies out.

damn ross..u just lost a fan, and for anybody that says that's wrong of me, think about it...all of his music is created using this persona he apparently just made up, i thought he was an artist...not a rapper, and i don't fuck w/ rappers...(it's a difference) and he would have came out better just admitting to it, saying it was over 10 years ago, and he started all of the "crime" (lol) afterwards, but by him blatently denying it...his cred is done...haha "only so long fake thugs can pretend" ...
