I know this is a thread about Bernie Mac...I've already posted my condolences to him and his family. So I'mma say one thing about the Obama situation and keep it short at the same time.

They've come out with a book on him now. That along should make you stop and think and ask yourself why. They can't find anything on the man!!! They have to take extreme measures and publish a book...to make it SEEM like it's some real, edgy shit. I don't buy it. Why didn't they publish a book before Bush took the office and expose how....

1) His IQ is lower than the average 13 year old

3) He's blood thirsty (he sacrificed millions of lives to stage the 911 incident

That Obama shit is a ploy. I knew they (house "n-words" and racist people in general) were going to start coming in on them. Some people just can't stand the thought of a BLACK MAN having rule over them, and a BLACK WOMAN being the first lady of this country.

When I heard this news i was in shock! I heard he had pneumonia but i thought he was gon' beat that and keep it pushin. Couldn't believe it, still can't. It's some sad, sad news. I was just watchin Charlies Angels with my daughter the other day and he was in that movie and hands down that's my baby's favorite movie (after the Cheeta Girls and Camp Rock). I understand. I just learned a few days ago on my own, that I've been depressed for a very long time. Somehow though, I don't take my frustrations and pains out on others. Life is so difficult at times, and things always seem to be able to get no worse...but the thing is to know that they can. You've already overcome a GREAT obstacle in just KNOWING that you're depressed.

I'll explain to you what's been happening with me...

I just lost my job and my girlfriend of 4 years on Friday. The past two years of my life have been a constant struggle for sanity. I've lost four babies, two to miscarraiges, one abortion, and another a stillborn. But, haha, somehow, I can still lift my head through it all. I've been killing myself trying to make everyone in my life happy, EVERYONE...but myself. I work hard. I always give to my family and friends, but I had come to the realization a few months ago that the amount that I give is, and has NEVER been returned to me in full. For instance, I was just telling my best friend Friday night that I need a new set of friends in my life, and one of my friends, (who I have known my ENTIRE life), calls me and tells me that he saw my face before I left for work on Friday, (the day I got fired), and that it hurt his heart because he'd never seen me in so much pain, so he invites me to Great America on Saturday. I told him I didn't have any money, but he told me that he's got me on the ticket and gas, so I agree. Lo and behold, when we're well on the road and go to buy the tickets, he tells me about what's been going on with him...and that he doesn't have enough to buy my ticket. lol, that's fucked up. So, I get my own ticket with the little I've got and we go...that's when I hear about Bernie Mac. Messed my whole head up...it's sad. But, I go and make the best of it regardless, because I'm STILL here.

Stress kills. I've been dying for a LONG time. I don't sleep much, and I'm already 140lb.'s standing at 6',1", but I can't eat much anymore. Anyways, I'm saying all this so that you know you're not the only hurting out here...I FEEL you. Just know though, that it's a blessing to still be able to type all of this to you at the moment.

More importantly than anything else, KNOW that everything is everything. It is what it is, and whatever has happened to you in that past cannot be changed. It will be ok. Look to the future, what is it that makes you happy? Find that, pursue that, and achieve that. Change the things that you are able to change. Many times we hold ourselves back from our destiny's. Life is hard, so you've got to be harder and NEVER let anyone stand in your way. We'll be ok...I TRULY believe this. No matter what. I will NEVER fall.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Musician/Actor Isaac Hayes died early Sunday morning, according to Shelby County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Shular.

A Shelby County sheriff's deputy responded to Hayes' home after his wife found him on the floor near a treadmill inside his home.

Hayes was taken to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08am.

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department are continuing their investigation into Hayes' death, but they believe no foul play was involved.

Legendary soul music performer Isaac Hayes died this afternoon after he was found unconscious in his Shelby County home.

Co-sign** IMO hun we are incredibly complacent right now as a people- we're our own enemies. And the truth of the matter is we divide ourselves amongst one another for different reasons; whether it be for fame, financial gain, political recognition, etc.-The fact that we live a society that is extremely individualistic and narcissistic is much of what the problem is in terms of unity. Unlike other countries we do not function as a society nor as a race that works from a collectivist (i.e. group oriented) framework-rather from "it's every man (or women) for him/her self" which to me is the highest form of destruction.

Practically, any response that's gonna be constructive needs to be more positive. Rioting and so forth tends to release pinned up emotion, frustration and bitterness (which all are emotions that are valid), however, but because rioting tends to be spontaneous and disorganized it doesn't result in a cohesive plan leading towards lasting social change. I must admit, I don't have the EXACT recipe to what we should do, but this is my opinion in theoretical terms.

These are the three people that you never want to really settle down with. These people can change and develop but during this stage this type of person can literally deplete your life. A person that is always the victim and never takes any ownership will never be accountable for anything.

I think this little passage is really worth sharing.

Who do you know that takes full responsibility for all their feelings and behaviors? What would your life look like if you quit blaming others for what you feel and what happens to you? What would your life be like if you decided that your life was yours and you could consciously create it any way you wanted to?

Research findings by social scientists and psychologists have demonstrated that the belief systems of individuals have a profound effect on health, the mind, and success. Cancer patients who believe that they can heal their bodies are much more likely to go into re-mission, students who believe that they can do well in school will do well, and people who believe they can succeed in business will succeed. In other words, "They can because they think they can.

Even in my case and so many other cases we have to stop being the victim and take ownership over our lives. We have the power to change the direction of our lives regardless of what you have been through God can and will bring you out if you let him.

STOP BEING THE VICTIM!

The complainer is the person that whatever you do is not going to be good enough. The real question is how we deal with this person because all of us have a little bit of complainer in us.

Master tools to stay calm, cool, in emotionally charged situations.

Try to uncover the main reason why complainers complain, it usually has a real reason.

Know what to do and say to diffuse the typical tactics that the complainer uses.

Learn communication techniques to redirect anger and calm the person down.

Discover the most effective things to say when others lose their cool, and what not to say.

Polish language patterns for those "tough conversations" such as criticism.

If you are in a relationship with a complainer you really will need to be a great communicator. As soon as you lose your cool this person will sit back and complain about you losing it. Don't fall into the wed of the chronic complainer.

For the Love of God, DON'T BE THE COMPLAINER NODOBY WANTS TO BE AROUND YOU FOR LONG!!!

Finally the overly needy person is going to try to suck all of the life out of you trying to get what they need to pull out of themselves. If you find yourself in any of these following descriptions they may be somewhat normal but if you let them get out of control you need to put this thing to bed.

Holding on desperately to other people, places, or things to give your life meaning and direction.

Allowing others to "do for'' you so much so that you haven't developed a sense of personal autonomy, independence, and personal responsibility for your own actions.

Unwillingness to let go of others so that you can get on with your own life.

Unwillingness to set out your own goals, aspirations, and dreams for your life for fear that they won't coincide with those of the people, places, and things on which you have become dependent.

Sense of worthlessness since the "need to be needed'' and "need to be loved'' have gone out of control where you need the dependency of another on you in order to believe that your life has meaning and value.

Confusing sympathy and pity for love which is a result of feeling sorry and compassionate for someone so much that you have smothered and coddled them until they cannot do for themselves and have become completely dependent on you.

Inability to take self-initiated steps to get your life into control, order, and direction because you have overly identified and submitted yourself to the will, power, and control of another person even if that person did not intentionally set you up to be so dependent.

Immobilized since need for approval, fear of rejection, and feeling of insecurity gone so out of control that you become immobilized without the direction, support, and nurturing of the person, place, or thing on whose approval you have become dependent.

Directionless which is result of the lack of belief in your own competency, skills, or abilities to handle things on your own and the fear to set out on a course of self-direction and independence.

Irresponsibility due to lack of training in knowing what normal personal responsibility taking is and the resultant handing over to other persons, places, and things the responsibility to take care of you.

Feeling stuck due to fear of failure, fear of making a bad decision, and the fear of success gone out of control until you have become immobilized and incapable of taking care of your own life.

Clingy due to fear of abandonment and fear of loss of value to other people, places, and things gone out of control so much so that you become over-clingy and grasp on to any last straw to ensure your dependent relationship is not changed or ended.

Fear of loss of identity, making you frantic in pursuit of maintaining a relationship with a person, place, or thing, which is in reality unhealthy for you.

Fear of loneliness, being alone, or isolation making you desperate to hold onto a dying relationship with a person, place, or thing, well beyond the time that it is reasonable to do so.

Fear of being independent which is due to the fear of the negative consequences of becoming independent keeping you weak and frail, thus needing the support and nurturance of those people, places, and things, on which you are dependent.

These are all very good examples of what a needy person is and these traits are so unattractive. The average person may have some of these traits but the best thing for this syndrome is stepping out of your box and conquering your fear. NO ONE WANTS TO BE AROUND A PERSON THAT CAN'T STAND ALONE. One of the most attractive things about a relationship is knowing that the person that you're with is still very desirable with or without you. MEN YOUR WOMAN WANTS TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH SUBSTANCE TO SURVIE IN ANY SITUATION.

That last post of yours is speaking to my life, immensely. When it comes to THE COMPLAINER, i have a sister that just complains, complains, and complains to my mom. I be so damn sick and tired of that shit and i know my mom is, too, but she don't want to say anything because it might hurt my sister's (her daughter's) feelings. I am the needy guy, sometimes (i think most of us are needy people at some point of are life), but i knew my boundaries. Kitna is my backup QB, and Farve is my starter. With QBs, you can be less careful. Your comment about Kitna being floppy is true, but he's going to score points because of it, too. This is my third year doing fantasy football, and one thing i notice is that when you draft QBs, you get the ones that play on pass happy teams or the ones that play on bad teams (more opportunities to score points). Kitna fits in both categories.

That Charlie Rose interview was hot...

Bernie's advice from House Party was one of the major highlights of that movie...especially when he said "f*ck 'em...f*ck'em against the wall, with handcuffs and crazy glue on they lips"...lmao!

We used to quote that part all the time. Between that, and also when he meets oh girl's parents, and he says "I knew it...I knew I knew you...They used to call you JAWBONE because you could suck a golf ball through a water hose"...

That ish was priceless man!

Gonna really miss Bernie. His show was one of the best shows we've had in a really long time. For real...a black man, taking on the responsibilities of his crackhead sis's kids. Taking them in, fathering them...just priceless.

Was at a business leadership convention and read the news off my phone. Really broke my heart to hear he was gone. One of my all-time favorite comics. Him, Richard, Eddie, Bill....they are in classes of their own. Love them all...but the crazy thing is Bernie was that down home cat who you probably related to THE MOST, because you knew what he was telling you was what he lived. NOt something he had to think on for a long time...just him:)

This is a major loss right here. Bernie Mac was absolutely the man. I personally sampled some of his material for a song I did called "The Apocalyspe" a few years back. He was absolutely one of my favorite comedians and him no longer being here is a painful loss but with it, he will be remembered as one of the greatest comedians of all time. Rest in peace Bernie Mac!

Muddasuckas!!!!! Oh, my heart is sad this week as my thoughts are with Bernie Mac's AND Isaac Hayes' families. Bernie was THAT dude that never changed his ways or spoke 'The King's English' ... even on his Fox show. He was just Bernie Mac, the Mac Man, and that's what endeared him to so many of us. From him punchin' the crowd at the Apollo Theatre in the throat saying "I ain't scared of u muthaf*kas," on his forst Def Comedy Jam appearance to inventing words like "badussy", one of CHi-town's finest will be missed -- even from a Brew City cat. R.I.P. B-Mac ... hopefully you, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx and Robin Harris are somewhere talkin' sh*t to one another and making more people laugh than ever before. You'll never be forgotten.
