No matter how you rank Jay's albums, he still has yet to put out complete garbage. like, some people felt like Kingdom Come was trash...but it was actually a good album. Jay had "grown up" per se, and folks didn't feel it. But it was a grown and sexxxy album, and even had some deep sh*t on it (Beach Chair).

But lemme go back...

I think Jay has been the most consistent artist since he stepped in the game with Reasonable Doubt. Album wise, he has yet to make me say "wish I didn't buy that", or, "I'm not even looking for that"....

I can't say the same for any other living artist. Real talk...

haha I have been editing and finishing my book series. [Check out the site]. After I got an agent hired, I had to kick the ish in gear cause they're not cheap. Plus I redesigned my sites [3] oh yeah and my day job too plus the family. haha So it's been hectic man. Thurgood Marshall (July 2, 1908 – January 24, 1993) was an American jurist and the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. Before becoming a judge, he was a lawyer who was best remembered for his high success rate in arguing before the Supreme Court and for the victory in Brown v. Board of Education.

Marshall was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 2, 1908, as the great-grandson of a slave. His original name was Thoroughgood but he shortened it to Thurgood in second grade, because he disliked spelling it. His father, William Marshall, who was a railroad porter, instilled in him an appreciation for the Constitution of the United States and the rule of law.[1] Additionally, as a child, he was punished for his school misbehavior by being forced to write copies of the Constitution, which he later said piqued his interest in the document.

Marshall was married twice; to Vivian "Buster" Burey from 1929 until her death in February 1955 and to Cecilia Suyat from December 1955 until his own death in 1993. Du Bois, Jessie Redmon Fauset, and Alain LeRoy Locke, whom they accused of being overly fulsome in accommodating and assimilating Eurocentric values and culture for social equality. A primary expression of this conflict was the former's depiction of the "low-life", that is, the real lives of blacks in the lower social-economic strata and the superficial divisions and prejudices based on skin color within the black community.[28] Hughes wrote what would be considered the manifesto for him and his contemporaries published in The Nation in 1926, The Negro Artist and the Racial Mountain:

The younger Negro artists who create now intend to express
our individual dark-skinned selves without fear or shame.
If white people are pleased we are glad. If they are not,
it doesn't matter. We know we are beautiful. And ugly, too.
The tom-tom cries, and the tom-tom laughs. If colored people
are pleased we are glad. If they are not, their displeasure
doesn't matter either. We build our temples for tomorrow,
strong as we know how, and we stand on top of the mountain

Hughes was unashamedly black at a time when blackness was démodé, and he didn’t go much beyond the themes of black is beautiful as he explored the black human condition in a variety of depths.[29] His main concern was the uplift of his people who he judged himself the adequate appreciator of and whose strengths, resiliency, courage, and humor he wanted to record as part of the general American experience.[30][31] Thus, his poetry and fiction centered generally on insightful views of the working class lives of blacks in America, lives he portrayed as full of struggle, joy, laughter, and music. Permeating his work is pride in the African American identity and its diverse culture. "My seeking has been to explain and illuminate the Negro condition in America and obliquely that of all human kind,"[32] Hughes is quoted as saying. Therefore, in his work he confronted racial stereotypes, protested social conditions, and expanded African America’s image of itself; a “people’s poet” who sought to reeducate both audience and artist by lifting the theory of the black aesthetic into reality.[33] An expression of this is the poem My People:[34]

Langston Hughes was one of the few black writers of any consequence to champion racial consciousness as a source of inspiration for black artists.[35] His African-American race consciousness and cultural nationalism would influence many foreign black writers, such as Jacques Roumain, Nicolás Guillén, Léopold Sédar Senghor, and Aimé Césaire. With Senghor and Césaire and other French-speaking writers of Africa and of African descent from the Caribbean like René Maran from Martinique and Léon Damas from French Guiana in South America, the works of Hughes helped to inspire the concept that became the Négritude movement in France where a radical black self-examination was emphasized in the face of European colonialism.[36][37] Langston Hughes was not only a role model for his calls for black racial pride instead of assimilation, but the most important technical influence in his emphasis on folk and jazz rhythms as the basis of his poetry of racial pride.[

It was Marshall who ended legal segregation in the United States. He won Supreme Court victories breaking the color line in housing, transportation and voting, all of which overturned the 'Separate-but-Equal' apartheid of American life in the first half of the century. It was Marshall who won the most important legal case of the century, Brown v. Board of Education, ending the legal separation of black and white children in public schools. The success of the Brown case sparked the 1960s civil rights movement, led to the increased number of black high school and college graduates and the incredible rise of the black middle-class in both numbers and political power in the second half of the century.

And it was Marshall, as the nation's first African-American Supreme Court justice, who promoted affirmative action -- preferences, set-asides and other race conscious policies -- as the remedy for the damage remaining from the nation's history of slavery and racial bias. Justice Marshall gave a clear signal that while legal discrimination had ended, there was more to be done to advance educational opportunity for people who had been locked out and to bridge the wide canyon of economic inequity between blacks and whites.

He worked on behalf of black Americans, but built a structure of individual rights that became the cornerstone of protections for all Americans. He succeeded in creating new protections under law for women, children, prisoners, and the homeless. Their greater claim to full citizenship in the republic over the last century can be directly traced to Marshall. Even the American press had Marshall to thank for an expansion of its liberties during the century.

Marshall's lifework, then, literally defined the movement of race relations through the century. He rejected King's peaceful protest as rhetorical fluff that accomplished no permanent change in society. And he rejected Malcolm X's talk of violent revolution and a separate black nation as racist craziness in a multi-racial society.

A childhood friend of hers and his wife were driving to their son's college graduation.

His name is Andrew Tillman, wife is Janice Tillman, son is Amir Tillman.

They were on the phone w/ their son ON THE WAY to his graduation ON THE PHONE WITH HIM letting him know they were on their way.

They crashed.

Janice Tillman died.

The son heard his mother die at his college graduation.

And his father had to be airlifted, is in critical condition at the hospital.

Please give your prayers to Andrew Tillman through this time, that he pulls through and makes it for his son.

Please give your prayers to Amir Tillman, who lost his mother on the day of his college graduation, that he can manage his grief, and send some positive energy his way.

My mother just sobbed in my arms when she found out.

This life is getting crazy.

Sending positive energy to my nig HP who lost his brother, but still progressive, positive, and solid.

And my girl BFG, who lost her father and still managed her grief, as well as the situation at hand.

IN Gport there have been 22 black males arrested and charged with capital murder charges in the last two years and not one of them were over 20 when they were charged. The youngest are 3 fourteen years old and 1 fifteen year old. :smh:
Wtf are we going to do to save ourselves?

DISCLAIMER: I'm making this post for each and everyone, no one in particular are my comments directed at. And i'm like this outside of this blog. I don't do heated debates, or arguments. I like to discuss in a peaceful manner.

I'm making a comment about some of the things i read on here from Friday up until today. I may use something that was said to make my point but in no way am i as you guys say "coming outta pocket at" anyone in general. I just want you to read and then if you feel you want to respond, fine, just do in it a respectful manner.

Why is it that we can't just have meaningful discussions and not get to heated?? If a person does see it's going to esculate and they chose to not go to that level, THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM A PUNK it just makes them a person who has more in life going on that it's not that serious to get that aggravated and respond in a negative manner. Waste of energy.

I for one don't do it. A person on here called me the B word, bless him. Just cause he didn't agree with my comments. That's fine. Just agree to disagree.

Secondly, why can't we all have our own opinions???? Where did it say we had to all think alike?

3rdly, and this is the kicker, if you don't agree my goodness, why in the world do you continue to say such hateful, disrespectful, mean things??? I mean you can't just not agree? IS IT THAT SERIOUS?

I'm asking this for one reason. I came on the board a little over 2/3 mos ago and since being here i've noticed that no matter what if you guys don't agree, you keep beating it over the head of the person you don't agree with. That person is just as strong minded as you, so they won't change their mind. If a person was affected by something that was said and they spoke on it, offer apologies, learn from it and let's move on. If you don't want to apologize fine, still move on, lol.

MY POINT IS THERE'S WAY TO MANY THINGS IN LIFE GOING ON FOR US TO BE THIS WAY ON AHH.

If a simple blog of people have so much drama and strife on it, then how in the world will we ever change society in general??? I mean seriously, it's to the point where you have new folks not wanting to come back, you have the vets saying it's not the same anymore and they don't want to come back.

I'm confused. If we can't unite and have discussions and debate yet learn from it, then what' does that say for the future in general?

WE ARE DOOMED!!!! and i mean that for everday life where there's all types of people of dif races, religions, and regions. These are the things that kind of depress me and make me say "forget it" just live in my bubble and just chill with my son's and be a reclusive and see what happens in the end. (of life in general).

I just don't get it, i'm the type of person who sees life in general is CRAZY, i have 2 sons, I came on this board for 2 reasons, to get put on to the artists in other regions. And after i noticed some of the discussions, i also realized that you guys discuss good topics. Things that involve my daily living, things that can help me build with my seeds.

I've had it in my head that I want to do something to change the world as far as dif races and religions learning to get along. I get shot down daily in my area cause of the negative brainwashing of my peoples, and now i'm on this board and you guys are from dif states and i hear you all and i realize Dang, i think it's like this all over. and that is one sad realization.

For the folks who keep saying the board has changed for the worse, i guess i'd say "sorry" because i know i don't discuss major topics :-) I LOVE MY SPORTS alot.
send me some sites to peep and i'll leave you guys be. :-)

And finally in general, i like all of you, i listen to the mature, positive discussions and I build with my teen on what was said. Some info you guys offer up that i may have not already touched on with him, we go and research it.

I just find it so unfortunate that you all can't just get along and we use each other to network and try to find a way to build on how we can fix all the topics we discuss about. Ie, politics, our neighborhoods, racism, etc. We should be on here really trying to find a solution to the problems not just continue to debate about it and do NOTHING.

I haven't been out in a second but lately i've been doing shows or just club nights and man I swear all the guys dress prettier than me. I miss my regular dreads, my bad men who were posing by the bar :-) Shoot those guys in there had on more makeup than me, and thier jeans are tighter than mine lol.

@Bhudda - You wild...Yeah, she a keeper in the sense of how she goes about building and buying things. I was worried about her buying her condo when she did last year, only because of the location. But then she got her fam in there, and since she's paying on it now, it seems like a good investment...assuming she doesn't have it vacant:)

Now, the Humvee she just bought? I would question that, but only because she bought it while shacking up with somebody. That could bite her in the azz when it comes time to be paying a house payment:) lol....

But she works hard, and she's pretty smart with her money.

I'm just working on narrowing down my options, and I gotta think smart, past the obvious things (physical and mental attributes:). I know people who date and then get married hella quick, and then they wonder WHY something doesn't work out. They don't think about things like finances and all.

They say finances are the #1 reason marriages don't work...real talk. But we don't work on these things...then we say money is the root of all evil, and put our blames on miscellaneous things...just crazy. Oh, and good lookin' on that post. I read somewhere that if December continues as it's forecasted with layoffs, it'll already be the worst since 1945, so the 1930's type #'s coming up next doesn't surprise me...

*Don't be on here 24/7. It's not healthy, and it's not productive. There's more to life than just AHH, or whatever other blog sites ya'll might flip to. I'm honestly only registered on THIS SITE, and it takes enough time. Have no clue how ya'll be on three or four different ones...wild...

THere's not enough time to be on all these sites.

*Pick up a book - THere have been a few folks have posted on here. Pick one of 'em up at the library. Read it. And I don't mean just skim it over...read it and understand the book.

*Look in the mirror. Your position in life is by design. If you don't like where you are, fix it. If you are a single mother w/kids, realize that is your own doing. You chose that man, whether you thought he was good or bad. You chose to lay down with that man....PERIOD. First person to blame is YOU, NO BUTS. If you are a father who doesn't take care of his child(ren), KILL YOSELF! Nah, but for real, if you chose to lay with that woman, then take care of your seeds. That's why society is as bad as it is now, ESPECIALLY in our community.

*Go to the doctor! I need to make an appointment for a checkup my dayum self. That's super important, and as I get closer to 30, I realize it's even MORE important.

*Cut off the TV! SHut down the internet for a while. you already know why.

*Lead by example. That whole "do as I say, not as I do" statement is bullshyt, and way past hypocritical. How about being the example?

*Spread love, not hate.

Last, but not least....

*Give advice on things you are knowledgeable of, and be weary of those you take advice from.

For example:
Don't take advice on relationships from people who have 2 or 3 kids with different baby daddies and currently don't have a man at home. I'm just calling a spade a spade.

It's like taking advice from someone on how to get through a prison term and they've never even broken the law.

Sh*t don't make sense! Studying with F grade students to get an A...stop it....

Well we are real people, a lot of times people like to bring half their ass on the Internet. So they may really be emotional about some issues, and completely ignore other issues. Some people they ignore, others they don't.

I've noticed that there is far more antagonism on Blogs, Email discussion groups, and things like that on the Internet than other mediums because of the nature of the medium. People think they are anonymous, so they get online and act like assholes. A bunch of anonymous cowards. It's been like that since way back in 1996 when I first started using the Internet.

Even though people claim it's "just the internet", you are reading what people write. When you "read" you are internalizing the message more intently than if you were speaking to someone face to face. Since the message is being internalized it is also subject to interpretation.

That is why I ask questions rather than just assume and I would prefer people respond to me in depth based on what I write rather than come with some brief one liner. What looks like a couple of paragraphs on here would be a brief statement if spoken verbally. A lot of the times I don't know the exact intent behind some messages without asking people to be more in depth with what they are saying if they are trying to tell me something. If you just talking shit then say that.

In a way Barack Obama is very close to being the embodiment of that "I Have A Dream" speech. Not in the sense that racism has been eliminated, but someone of mixed racial heritage, married to a black woman, who was told he had no chance in hell to be President pulled it off. It's too bad that the collective psyche of the majority of white America (not the major urban cities with the progressive white liberals) still will need work.

The way the electoral college is set up Barack Obama didn't have to win the majority of those backwater states that didn't vote for him anyway, but when you look at the popular votes, it was Very very close. The country is definitely split. The Republicans do a good job at exploiting the polarization of America. Of course in twenty years it will be difficult to do that since the country will be primarily minority. That makes me wonder what they have up their sleeves. We know at the rate we're going socioeconomically we may not be in the best position to capitalize on our numbers. I have ideas and things I'm working on, but I have to put the faith in my boogie bear and my children. Just gotta make sure they have everything they need.

Yeah my first experience with computers was my uncle's wack ass Commodore 64 in the 80s. I first learned how to make beats when I was like 15 on the ASR. That's right, the legendary Ensoniq ASR. Okay, I'm getting sidetracked. As I was saying I was the only nigga in Southeast telling dudes they should buy a PC in 97. My brethren uptown in NW were a little more enlightened. So my associates was like what??? Protective Custody? Eh, this nigga talking about buying PC. I had that "homie don't play dat look". Funny style ass niggaz them dudes wouldn't read a book to save their life. Lmao

Everybody else was buying clothes and guns like that shit would last forever. I swear them VA crackas used to rob the gun stores or something because they would come with duffel bags full of guns. Nobody needs all those guns, niggaz always buying guns. It was a set up, those racist crackers wanted them to kill each other. Put the guns down unless it's self-defense, even then try to talk it out. Stop the violence. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked again.

I remember my old beige box cost me like $1750, and it only had like 13 gigs of hard drive space, expandable to 256 mb of memory. I know, I think iPods got almost as much space as that now. I used to spend my money on that shit, I had a bunch of electronic toys. Not a bad investment now that I think about it. Back in those days (97,98,99 (AHH was born around this time for those that don't know it had a shitty ass interface back then but most sites did). AHH is gangster because it survived the Dot Bomb, most sites didn't.

So back then it was the chat room, shit like Talk City and AOL. If you think AHH is bad, man the NetNoir chat rooms back then would have you like ohh shit. People used to do the same thing, proclaim they going to quit. They would take breaks, write a rites of passage to the lord about how ignorant people are on the internet.

Some would lament the days when the masses wasn't online, just the geeks. Chics would meet dudes, get they face splashed with all types of uh white substances and get blasted all over the chat room. The chics would retort about how they were some lil dick ass niggas frontin. I never had that problem, I'd flash they ass like a Polaroid camera. Okay, I'm getting sidetracked again. You see, same shit, different time, fuck I feel all old in Internet years and shit. But none of this shit makes me feel like any of these nigras intimidate me. That's why I always say we're really people, even the people that hide and don't show themselves are still people. Machines are not smart enough to type to you, curse you out, and stuff like that. Now I took you down memory lane, and hopefully the lazy didn't read it all. I'm finna go get a beverage. lol

Yeah this guy is crazy, but not just for the sake of craziness. im telling you. he wrote The Eye, not the horrible American version, 1 missed call, not the horrible American version and Juon, which is the grudge in the US.

One one of his movies, a lot deal with infidelity, a man discovers his wife is cheating and cuts the child from her womb.

Then he puts it in a garbage bag and walks to the pay phone. there he calls the guy she had sex with to confront him over the phone.

when the guy admits it he tells him what hes done and that the baby is in the bag he’s holding.

he holds the phone up while he beats the bag against the phone booth glass for like 2 mins straight.

The guy on the other end is screaming but it doesn’t drown out the wet crunch and thud. its very disturbing.

Then he walks away from the booth holding the bag. he's in Japan walking through 2 rows of houses and throws the bag into a heap of trash on the side of the road and keeps walking.

there is trash in front of every house on both sides as he goes down the street, a bag a few houses down crawls out into the middle of the street.

you can see there is something inside the bag crawling but the bag is closed. he walks faster but one after another bags crawl towards him gurgling one rips open and his dead wife is inside smiling at him moving all fucked up.

when her joints moved it made a noise like a creaking door once she stood up her arms would sway side to side creaking.

all the other bags had dead babies in them its was some crazy shit.

the babies murked him and one of them crawled back in her stomach and sat in the hole

You have to get the original versions because shit like that dont fly over here.

He also has one called "ICHI The Killer"

the movie is over the top but the rawness of it makes it a challenge to watch.
