The two of us are in different lanes, far as lyrical content..it's been about a year since I made certain final decisions for what I would never do/say in music..summa that old stuff still floatin around out there..

I knew it was a wrap when I was workin in a Children's Shelter & a 12 year old tripped cuz she heard of me and I was her counselor.

Rich People Versus Politicians

Sometimes I wish there were a humane way to get rid of the rich. Without the rich for whipping boys, we might be able to concentrate on what's best for the 99 and a half percent of the rest of us.

Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, with about $60 billion in assets each, are America's richest men. With all that money, what can they force us to do? Can they take our house to make room so that another person can build an auto dealership or a casino parking lot? Can they force us to pay money into the government-run retirement Ponzi scheme called Social Security? Can Buffett and Gates force us to bus our children to schools out of our neighborhood in the name of diversity? Unless they are granted power by politicians, rich people have little power to force us to do anything.

A GS-9, or a lowly municipal clerk, has far more life-and-death power over us. It's they to whom we must turn to for permission to build a house, ply a trade, open a restaurant and a myriad of other activities. It's government people, not rich people, who have the power to coerce and make our lives miserable. Coercive power goes a long way toward explaining political corruption.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich's hawking of Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat; Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel's alleged tax writing favors; former Rep. William Jefferson's business bribes; and the Jack Abramoff scandal are mere pimples on the government corruption landscape. We can think of these and similar acts as jailable illegal corruption. They pale in comparison to what's for all practical purposes the same thing, but simply legal corruption.

For example, according to the Miami Herald, by March 2008, the powerful Florida Fanjul sugar family had given over $300,000 to politicians and political committees. They didn't fork over all that money to help politicians to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. Like businessmen who approach Charlie Rangel, Rod Blagojevich and William Jefferson, they give politicians money because they want a favor in return -- namely import restrictions on sugar so they can charge Americans higher prices. In the case of the Fanjuls, and thousands of others buying favors, they are engaged in legal corruption.

Legalized corruption is widespread and that's the job of 35,000 Washington, D.C., lobbyists earning millions upon millions of dollars. They represent America's big and small corporations, big and small labor unions and even foreign corporations and unions. They are not spending billions of dollars in political contributions to encourage and assist the White House and Congress to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. They are spending that money in the expectations of favors that will be bestowed upon them at the expense of some other American or group of Americans.

This power helps explain, for example, why a seat on the House Ways and Means Committee, not to mention its chairmanship, is so highly coveted. For the right price, a tax loophole, saving a company tens of millions of dollars, can be inserted into tax law, a la the Charlie Rangel scandal. At state levels, governors can award public works contracts to a generous constituent. At the local levels mayors can confer favors such as providing subsidies for sports stadia and convention centers. When politicians can give favors, they will find buyers.

The McCain-Feingold law was to get "money out of politics" but more money was spent in the 2008 election cycle than ever. The only way to reduce corruption and money in Washington is to reduce the power politicians have over our lives. James Madison was right when he suggested, "All men having power ought to be distrusted to a certain degree." Thomas Jefferson warned, "The greatest calamity which could befall us would be submission to a government of unlimited powers." That's what today's Americans have given Washington -- unlimited powers.

Bloemfontein - A woman and two men have been arrested in Intabazwe at Harrismith after they allegedly cut off the genitals of the woman's boyfriend, Free State police said on Wednesday.

Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said it was alleged that the assault on the victim was instigated by his girlfriend and one of his friends.

Mophiring said the incident happened around 22:00 on Monday when the 37-year-old man was on his way home after visiting a shop in Intabazwe.

"He met his girlfriend with two other men and she apparently instructed the men to assault her boyfriend."

During the struggle one man removed the victim's pants and cut off his genitals in the presence of his girlfriend.

"They left him unconscious in the street without help," Mophiring said.

The man later managed to crawl to the nearest house for help. The police were called and the man was rushed to the Mofumahadi Manapo Regional Hospital in Qwaqwa.

Residents later found the man's genitals at the scene of the assault and police were called again.

Mophiring said police arrested the two men on the same night while the woman was arrested on Tuesday.

They were expected to appear before the Harrismith Magistrate's Court on Thursday to face a charge of attempted murder.

Wayeyi Cultural Festival (RUETA)

In order to preserve their culture, the Wayeyi formed the Kamanakao Association in March 1995. Its main aim is to develop and maintain the remnants of the Shiyeyi language and culture, as part of the overall national culture.

One of its first activities was to develop the Shiyeyi language. This has been going on since 1995 and, currently, there is a published orthography for Shiyeyi, 12 pre-primary and primary school books and several adult literacy books.

The Annual Cultural Festival called RUETA is meant to develop and revive the culture of the Wayeyi in the form of song, dance, poetry, food, sale of artefacts and literature, traditional practices and educational activities such as inshembiro (girls’ initiation). The festival will be held this year at Gumare on April 18, 2009. It will be officially opened by Honourable Minister of Youth Sport and Culture, Gladys Kokorwe.

The Wayeyi came to Botswana from Central Africa into DiYeyi (Namibia) around 1000 AD according to Andrew Murray.

Professor Tlou reports that the Wayeyi are “the first Bantu-speakers to emigrate to the Okavango delta”. They found the Basarwa (Khoisan) of Xanikhwe ethnicity. Because of the lengthy stay with Basarwa the Wayeyi language, Shiyeyi began to have clicks. The first group of Wayeyi was lead by their Chief Hankuze.

They settled in Ncame (Lake Ngami) where they hunted and did fishing. Here they also met the Basarwa (Khoisan). The second group was lead by Qunku and his brother Qunkunyane. This group came via the delta and settled at Tubu and later Gumare, Karwanga (Nokaneng) and Tjau (Tsau) (Tlou, 1985, Mandja, 1997 video presentation). They later met with the Hankuze people. Matsharatshara led the last group (with his brother Matshara) and it came through the Sankuyu, Matlapaneng area and finally settled in the Boteti area with the Deti (another Khoesan group). The three leaders were brothers with Matsharatshara being the eldest, followed by Hankudze and lastly Qunku.

Their leader in Namibia was Matsharatshara and this is why he had to stay behind as his brothers fled the Lozi into Botswana. He is the descendant of Muyeyi Matsharatshara, the first Chief of the Wayeyi, from whom their name originated.

Botswana pledges $70m to Zim

Harare - Botswana is pledging a $70m line of credit to help Zimbabwe out of its economic crisis.

Botswana's Economic Planning and Development minister, made the pledge on Thursday during a visit to Zimbabwe. He said the global financial crisis was keeping Botswana from doing more.

Zimbabwean Finance Minister Tendai Biti thanked Botswana and said he hoped others "with much bigger pockets" would also pitch in.

Biti is flying to South Africa later on Thursday to review pledges other neighbours have made.

Southern African leaders have urged Africans to help Zimbabwe, but also made clear their resources are limited.

South Africa, the region's economic power house, may be heading into recession.

Botswana is seeing demand for its diamonds falter.

Child abuse spikes as U.S. economy flounders

BOSTON (Reuters) – One 4-month-old baby was shaken so violently she needed surgery. Another 3-week-old suffered fractured ribs from abuse at home. A 9-year-old diabetic boy stopped receiving proper treatment for his condition.

Those cases reported by Boston hospitals are part of a spike in child abuse in United States during a recession that has driven some families to the brink and overwhelmed cash-strapped child-protection agencies.

"In the last three months we have twice as many severe inflicted injury cases as we did in the three months the previous year," said Allison Scobie, program director of the Child Protection Team at Boston's Children's Hospital.

Typically, her hospital handles about 1,500 such cases a year. That rose to 1,800 last year.

"We're finding that it is directly attributable to what is happening economically," she said. "Many of the hospitals around here report an increase of 20 to 30 percent of requests for consultation regarding suspected child maltreatment."

Theodore Charles Schmidt is charged with capital murder in the death of Sabrina Piña, who disappeared from a Kohl’s department store in Spring on Feb. 21.

Piña body was found the next morning in a ditch in northwest Harris County, bound with duct tape. She had been shot in the head.

Schmidt’s attorney, Jim Lindeman, said the $200,000 bail was an agreement he made with prosecutors.

“I think he can make it,” Lindeman said. “If I didn’t think the family could make it, we wouldn’t have agreed to it.”

Lindeman had scheduled a hearing in front of state District Judge Jeannine Barr to protest Schmidt being held without bail.

Investigators have said Schmidt was videotaped following Piña into the department store, then leaving shortly before she did.

A search warrant executed at Schmidt’s home turned up Klein High School yearbooks from 1999 and 2000, according to court records. Police said they also found three sets of handcuffs

“I love you all. May the Lord be with you. Peace. I’m done,” Michael Rosales said in his brief, final statement.

Three brothers were among his witnesses. No friends or relatives of his victim witnesses the execution.

Rosales was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m., eight minutes after the lethal drugs began to flow.

Rosales, 35, who was living nearby with friends in the same complex, confessed to the 1997 slaying of Mary Felder a day after Felder’s body was found by her grandson, who routinely checked on her. Rosales told police he was high on cocaine and looking for money when he broke into her home as she slept. She was attacked when she woke up.

Rosales was the 13th Texas prisoner executed this year in the nation’s most active capital punishment state.

Prosecutors argued time deadlines for clemency petitions had passed and that the mental retardation issue already had been reviewed and rejected by the appeals courts, including a federal appeals court which in 2004 had stopped Rosales’ then-scheduled execution.

Rosales was born in Kit Carson County, Colo., and had a record in that state. Testimony at his trial indicated he escaped from a Colorado jail in 1994 after he was arrested on charges that included resisting arrest and battery. He was on probation for nearly four years for a drug conviction in Lubbock but had a history of violating probation. When he was arrested for Felder’s slaying, evidence showed he had removed an electronic monitor he was supposed to be wearing.

Ken Hawk, a former Lubbock assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case, said he remembered the murder scene for its incredible violence.

“There were more than 100 wounds to her face and head, with terrible blunt force trauma,” he said.

Felder, a grandmotherly presence in the neighborhood where she was known lovingly as “Miss Mary,” was pummeled and stabbed with a two-pronged fork and a steak knife. Records showed she had 113 wounds, including some from needle-nose pliers.

Rosales became a suspect after he kept asking detectives at the scene if they’d caught the killer. When he was brought in for questioning, he told police he was the killer, then led officers to a trash bin where he tossed the weapons. Authorities also had bloody clothes he had tried to wash and used DNA evidence to tie them to the slaying. Prints from his shoes matched bloody footprints in Felder’s bedroom.

“He was kind of in a panic and stabbed her and when he realized she wasn’t going to survive, he stabbed her a bunch more times in his twisted logic of trying to put her out of her misery,” recalled one of his trial lawyers, David Hazlewood. “And that’s what made the whole thing so horrible.

“He signed a confession to the whole thing and pretty much fessed up to it. ... This is another one of those cases where the facts are never in your favor, and we just didn’t have a whole lot to work with except trying to convince people not to kill him.”

A Lubbock jury that convicted him of capital murder deliberated about two hours before deciding he should die.

At least five other Texas prisoners have execution dates stretching into the summer. Scheduled next is Derrick Johnson, 28, who faces execution April 30 for a 1999 rape-slaying in Dallas. LaTausha Curry, 25, was beaten with a board and then suffocated with a shirt and sweater after she was abducted while making a call at a pay phone

Man stabs brother over pork and beans!!

GILLIAM, La. - A 54-year-old man stabbed his 63-year-old brother during an argument in their kitchen over a can of pork and beans, police said Wednesday.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick said the suspect was booked Tuesday on one count of aggravated battery.

Chadwick said the brother was treated at a medical center for stab wounds in his left arm and shoulder blade.

Fizz – bless up, not sure how you feel about curry but I seen your ? on last night’s board, and if you want something that’s quick then this here will do the trick. Curry chicken breast with white rice and veggies. Not more than an hour to prepare. It’s not that hard to make, just season the breast meat (preferable chopped into small pieces) with curry, and whatever you usually use. Fresh garlic, lil oregano, thyme, black pepper, onions and red peppers. Stir fry the seasoned meat for 20 mins, add 1 cup of water, cover and let simmer. Rice, veggies and chicken will be done in 1hr. try it and if you don’t like curry then just make a regular stir fry.
