Why are you getting back into music, you’ve done really well on TV and iTunes sales are down, why come back?
I make music and I love it and thats what it comes down to for me. I just can’t say away from it, I’m always making music, even when I’m not putting out radio songs.
Congrats on the icon award too at the Billboard Awards
We don’t like you too much after you won the bid, we wanted Diddy to win that bid, because we wanted to be in more markets
(Laughs) Was that minacal? I love Diddy, we are still really good friends. He wrote me last night and told me, “Congratulations on the new album, you’re already a success.” We have a lot of love for each other. That wasn’t as much of a thing as the media made it out to be. (Laughs)But at the end of the day I’m glad about the whole NUVO situations, because I think that it can really change things.
Does he still try to holla
Pause…. umm… no
Has Diddy ruined it for black guys?
I’m lil bit off musicians, no dancers, I don’t know what the future holds for me. I believe that love is the most important thing. Its what makes the world go round, its healing, it makes everything better. Its the one thing that you have to cherish in this life.
Do you feel like the media has been really harsh with you?
It is, it can be difficult, but at the end of the day, before it hit the press the transition had already happened for me. So I was kind of prepared, its terrible that I was doing so much press at the time. Life is what it is. I’m used to this lifestyle and the press saying things that I don’t want them to.
