A major shift occurred in the Hip-Hop world, when 50 Cent moved his G-Unit label from Interscope in favor of a worldwide distribution deal with Caroline/Capitol/UMG.
50, whose career has spanned over a decade, has sold over 30 million records. Scott Storch, who was behind a number of 50’s biggest hits, said the rap star’s new situation will be lucrative.
“50, I definitely believe knows what he’s doing,” Scott Storch told AllHipHop.com. “His training wheels came off a long time ago. He’s free from a deal now where he made a major company some major, major cash, he knows the blue print he knows how to do it. So why not do it for yourself, it’s all growing. You don’t know this, but at some point 50 Cent could be the owner of the next Interscope Records.”
Storch lent his production to 50 Cent’s highly anticipated new album, Animal Ambition.
