Icons

don’t go away easily. After parting with former employer,

NY’s Hot 97, Kool DJ Red Alert

has found a new home at Kiss FM 98.7 in New York City. His

first day on the job is Monday, June 4 from 6-7 p.m. and

the veteran DJ says he is excited to be on the radio again.

Not surprised from his success, Red Alert told Allhiphop.com,

"A lot of people recognize me as one of the pioneers,

seeing four generations of hip hop."

Ironically,

Emmis Communications owns both Kiss FM and sister station

to Hot 97. Red will share company with other legends like

Isaac Hayes, Grand Master Flash and Chuck Chillout. He said

he never worried about leaving Hot 97 because, "The

main thing is, if one door closes, another one opens."
