A hip-hop promoter was shot to death yesterday

in the South Bronx, according to the New York Daily News, and police are investigating

into the possibility that it is connected to the murder of Jam Master Jay.

Kenneth "Headquarterz" Walker, 31,

was found shot to death in his van. Walker was missing several pieces of expensive

jewelry, leading authorities to believe that robbery may have been the motive.

Police patrolling the area said they heard gunfire

at 3 a.m. at Rider Ave and 104th Street. When they arrived Walker had been shot

numerous times and police found eight .45 caliber shell casings at the scene.

Walker had attended a 50 Cent concert earlier in the week.

"We are looking into possible connections

or whether this was a coincidence," said Sgt. Kevin Hayes, a police spokesman.

Walker was also a longtime member of the Gangstarr Foundation and was good friends

with both Guru and Premier.

Meanwhile, sources told AllHipHop.com that an

arrest in the murder of Jam Master Jay could come as early as next week, saying

that the New York Police Department was still piecing together the reasons for

Jay’s murder.
