Rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow appeared
before Judge Charles Solomon today (Dec 18) in Manhattan’s Supreme Court, arguing
to have his clients cased dismissed.
After a high profile case in 2001 involving Shyne
and Bad Boy CEO Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Shyne was convicted of a shooting
in a Manhattan nightclub and subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison.
"I am not authorized by law to speak on
the case," Richmond told AllHipHop.com. "But we are filing a 440,
motion for dismissal." Currently, Shyne will not be eligible for parole
until August of 2009. The latest he will be released from prison is March 12,
2011.
Shyne’s attorneys and the D.A. will appear before
Judge Solomon who was the presiding judge in the initial trial, to present more
evidence on January 21, 2003.
