Today, March 26 1995 pioneering Compton, California

rapper/executive Eazy E died from complications of AIDS just three weeks after

being diagnosed. He was 31.

Wright, who founded Ruthless Records’, is arguably

one of the most influential figures in hip-hop history, helping to jumpstart

"gangsta rap." Eazy was also one of the founders of N.W.A.

"I wanna say is Eazy E’s Ruthless Records

was the first sreet independent label and it needs to be recognized," Krayzie

Bone told AllHipHop.com. "Every rapper from the West coast branched from

him and can’t deny that."

Bone, who signed to Eazy’s Ruthless imprint before

he was diagnosed with AIDS, has released 5 albums and two greatest hits collections

for the label.

"If he was still alive he would still be

right on top," Krayzie continued. "Hiphop needs to give ’em more props,

because he did what people was scared to do first, and that’s keep it real gangsta."

Bone is currently headlining the "Take Me

Home" tour supporting their latest album, Thug World Order.
