50 Cent and Luther

Vandross led the American Music Awards last night, each taking home two honors.

Rappers Missy Elliot, Lil Jon and Kid Rock also snagged awards, which took place

last night at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.

50 Cent, who was

a no show, won two awards for Best Male Rap Artist and Best Rap Hip-Hop Album

for his major label debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin.

Missy Elliot took

home the Best Female Rap Artist award. The rapper had trouble getting to the

awards ceremony, because someone stole her limousine.

"Somebody

stole my limo, but I’m here now," Elliot said. "Somebody is riding

around drinking my drinks and partying on their way to the clubs. There’s going

to be a reward for y’all."

Lil Jon & The

Eastside Boyz took home the Best Band, Duo or Group Award.

Detroit native

Kid Rock hinted that he would soon be returning to his rap roots. The rock/rapper

took home Best Male Pop/Rock Artist, but said that rap was his first love.

"I’m a rapper,

when it comes down to it," Kid Rock said. "That’s what I started out

as, that’s what I’ll always be. I’m just cheating on my girlfriend over there

with rock ‘n’ roll and country and whatnot."
