Retailing giant Sears is hoping to cash in on the popularity of “hip-hop inspired” clothing, with the launch of 50 “urban” shops located inside of the stores.Selected Sears department stores in Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Chicago, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington D.C. will carry the clothing lines in premium store space.Fubu, Ice-T’s Ice Wear, Run Athletics, P.Miller, South Pole and others will be stocked by Sears.“The young men’s customer is very important to us,” director of multicultural merchandise Cynthia Rodgers Maignan told Just-Style.com, a clothing industry news site. “We want him to know we carry the fashion-forward brands he prefers and that we offer an easy and pleasant shopping experience.”
