Virgil "Turk" Tab Jr. has officially been

charged with attempted first-degree murder, in a shooting that wounded two police

officers.

As previously reported, Tab, who gave his name

to police as Tab Virgil, was a member of Cash Money Records recording group

The Hot Boys.

Officers were serving a search warrant Monday

afternoon at the Hickory Pointe Apartment complex in Memphis, Tennessee, seeking

heroin.

As they entered the apartment, they were greeted

with gunfire. SWAT deputy Jason Pagenkopf, 31, was shot in the neck, while the

second officer, Chris Harris, 29, was shot in the mouth, hip and leg.

A subsequent search of the apartment turned up

a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Pagenkopf was released, while Harris remained

in critical condition. He is expected to recover from the gunshot wounds.

Tab, 22, is being held in lieu of $1 million

dollars bond.

In August, Tab released an album, Raw &

Uncut

for New York based record label, Koch.
