Andre 3000 of Outkast is in the final stages of

negotiations to play legendary guitar player Jimmy Hendrix on the big screen.

The flick is being directed by The Hughes Brothers, known for “Menace To

Society,” “From Hell” and “American Pimp.”

The flick will chronicle the legendary African-American guitar players rise to

fame, from strumming with Little Richard and The Isley Brothers, to his own solo

success and his tragic death at the age of 27.

Hendrix, who is recognized as one of the greatest guitar players of all time,

recorded the bulk of his work in just four years.

The brothers have been attempting to get the movie into production since 1995,

but Hendrix’s estate was in a legal battle.

The lawsuit was eventually settled and Hendrix’s late father, James “Al”

Hendrix gaining direct control of the estate before passing away last April.
