Spike TV has ordered a second season of "Ride
With Funkmaster Flex" the network announced today.
The 13 new episodes will start Sunday May 2 and
season two features the rides of such stars as Mariah Carey, Cedric The Entertainer,
Dave Chappelle, Tyra Banks, Ashanti, Moby, Wyclef, Baby and Cash Money Millionaires,
Russell Simmons and others.
"Season two is bigger, better and full of
the automotive insights and elite celebrity guests that only Flex and Spike
TV can deliver," executive producer Monica Taylor told AllHipHop.com in
a statement.
This season Flex will branch out into other forms
of transportation as he hits the street on lowrider bikes with Moby, puts the
custom touch on a golf cart with Cedric The Entertainer, redesigns Tyra Banks’
Lexus and goes helicopter shopping with Mariah Carey.
"The goal is to take the audience with him
as he brings the latest and greatest in the automotive world, and whether it’s
getting hints on tricking out their own rides or taking a look at the fantasy
vehicles of the stars, the viewers are in the shotgun seat with Flex on this
ride," added co-executive Producer Lashan Browning.
Below are the descriptions for each show in May:
Sunday, May 2 – "Chopper Shopping with Mariah"
— Flex goes flying with Mariah Carey, drives the legendary Cobra, and gives
a behind-the-scenes tour of the Funkmaster Flex Celebrity car show, including
hot cars from Wyclef, Busta Rhymes, and 50 Cent.
Sunday, May 9 – "The Starsky and Hutch Makeover"
— Flex customizes an original Torino from the motion picture STARSKY AND HUTCH,
explores the underground chopper racing culture, and visits the collection of
recording star Wyclef.
Sunday, May 16 – "Hitting the Streets with
Orange County Choppers" — Flex races with the big dogs at the Richard
Petty Driving Experience, meets up with the men of American Choppers, and redesigns
the Lexus of supermodel Tyra Banks.
Sunday, May 23 – "Cruisin with Madden and
the Millionaires" — Flex heads down south to visit Baby and the Cash Money
Millionaires impressive fleet, takes you on a tour of the Madden Cruiser, and
introduces a new style of driving – drifting.
Sunday, May 30 – "Keeping Missy Supa Dupa
Fly" — Flex hooks up Missy Elliott’s Camaro, take "Hip Hop Godfather"
Russell Simmons shopping for a ride, and visits a man who caters to a star’s
every whim.
