Eminem won a case against an Internet site using

his name to sell mobile phones, ring tones and picture messages.

Eminemmobile.com, run by British firm Visitair,

was found guilty of violating the rapper’s trademarked name by the United Nation’s

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The domain was registered a year ago and sold

various ring tones by the rapper. Despite a disclaimer stating that the site

was no way associated with Eminem, an arbitrator found that the domains were

registered in bad faith.

The domain will automatically be transferred

to Eminem in 10 days, unless Visitair challenges the court ruling.

Eminem is the first rap star to use the WIPO

procedure to contest a domain name. Madonna, Celine Dion and others have all

won decisions.
