Marion "Suge" Knight was released from

prison yesterday, after spending 10 months behind bars for violating his probation.

The CEO of Death Row served most of his time

at the Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California.

In a controversial decision, a California parole

board determined that Knight punched a parking valet and violated the terms

of his 2001 parole.

Knight’s attorney’s argued that Knight never

struck the man, produced eight witnesses, a security tape, and the parking valet

in question, who denied that Knight struck him.

"Unfortunately for Mr. Knight, it appears

that he was arrested prior to a full investigation of the allegation,"

Knight’s attorney Rose Kogerman before he was sentenced.

Kogerman said that Knight was attending a meeting

with Minister Tony Muhummad to work on plans for a 100,000-man March for Peace.

Knight served time at Mule Creek after the infamous

1996 assault in a Las Vegas casino that ultimately led to the murder of Tupac

Shakur.

According to sources, Knight spent his first

day of freedom with friends and family and will be back in the Death Row offices

today (April 23).

Knight will get right to work promoting Kurupt’s

latest album Against The Grain, which is due in stores April 27 as well

as a planned compilation CD to benefit the members of the families of American

soldiers fighting in Iraq.
