The New York Police
Department will reportedly disband their anti-graffiti unit, a division that
has been active in the city since the ‘80s, according to a report released
last week. Members of the NYPD, however, fear that the move will prompt an increase
in vandalism due to their time being transplanted elsewhere. “Graffiti
is already on the rise," an officer told the Daily News. "If we’re
not there every day, it will spread like a virus."
While details are
sketchy, sources told AllHipHop.com that Styles P. was arrested this morning
after a fight broke out in the trendy South Beach, Miami nightspot, Opium. “There
was a fight inside of the club,” a source told AllHipHop.com. “All
I know is they were bringing him out to the police car afterwards.” Miami
police refused to comment on the matter as of press time.
Shock G., the rapper
behind legendary group Digital Underground, will drop his debut solo album.
Fear of a Mixed Planet hits stores October 12th and features appearances
by Money B., the character Humpty Hump, Yukmouth, Cley MC, Java and 5th Element.

all emcees on the same subject matter & viewpoint, it’s especially necessary
to lift the human spirit & break the monotony of continuous, increasingly
bleak, negative or desperate songs & topics," Shock G. said.
Mase took the stage
Monday night (8/23) at Webster Hall in Manhattan, performing in New York for
the first time since his return to rap after a five-year hiatus. The performance
was a part of the Harlem rapper’s album release party for his third album,
Welcome Back. DJ Red Alert, Bad Boy Executive Harve Pierre, Babs of
Da Band, and Power 105 morning show hosts Ed Lover and Monie Love were all in
attendance to show support. Noticeably absent, however, was P.Diddy, who has
yet to make a public appearance with his one time protégé.
