Jay-Z has teamed with production company @radical.media and Paramount

Classics to release “Fade To Black,” a film that chronicles the rapper’s

farewell performance as a solo artist at Madison Square Garden in November of

2003.

Jay-Z narrates the film, which takes viewers backstage during the concert and

offers fans a chance to look at how the rapper’s last album was creatively

conceived.

“I was on the biggest stage in the world, with some of the biggest stars

in music, and we pulled off the perfect night,” Jay-Z said. “This

was the ultimate dream growing up in Brooklyn. I went from Marcy to Madison

Square.”

Fade To Black features Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, R. Kelly, Foxy

Brown, ?uestlove, Pharrell Williams and includes appearances from Dame Dash,

Rick Rubin, Slick Rick, P. Diddy and others.

Jay-Z is executive producing the flick under his Marcy Projects Productions

along with John Meneilly, Frank Scherma and Jon Kamen.

“This film captures the power and excitement of the on-stage performance

and Jay-Z’s creation, commitment and dedication to his craft,” @radical’s

Kamen commented.

“Fade To Black” was directed by Pat Paulson and Michael John Warren.

@radical’s credits include the Academy Award winning documentary “Fog

of War” and the multi-platinum “Concert for George,” which

celebrated the memorial of George Harrison and a feature on rockers Metallica.

“Fade To Black” hits theaters nationwide on November 5th, 2004.
